All my artwork will be shared on there as well as wips that I won't post anywhere else.
I'm still working out all the kinks, but is love to be able to talk to people somewhere where I am more frequently active.

it seems prolonged absences have been a thing for me in the past few years.
I've discovered a lot about myself in the last few years including a lot in regards to my mental health and well being. For those unaware, I have suffered with chronic illness for the last 10 years making general day to day life a little more difficult than it need be. This is not so much of an issue to handle as over the years I have learnt my limits physically. What I never really learnt how to do was learn my limits mentally.
Having been on this site for 16 years, I've had a lot of people come and go in my life and a lot have left more scars than others. Mental scars.
Over time, some of these wounds have healed and I have learnt to overcome them. To grow and improve.
The last 3-4 years of my life have been the lowest I have been for a long while online, particularly due to individual people and the decreasing spaces on the internet that are both safe to post (from AI scraping) and having a social space to interact with other artists and art enthusiasts. Because of this, I have frantically switched between places to find a space where I could feel safe from individuals and be satisfied to share my art.
The only place I come back to frequently is here, but here also holds a lot of negative memories for me...
I've decided to continue posting here whilst also curating my experience a little better, as you can imagine over 16 years I'd accumulated a rather hefty list of watched users that I had never cleared out (including people who had previously abused and groomed me at a younger age).
Please bare with me whilst I carefully curate and recreate my page and space to be better accommodating and safe for myself

Posted 3 years agoThis is going to be a very long journal in regards to my health and absence over the past 11 months, as well as a thank you to my commissioners for being patient with me.
A quick need-to-know bit of information; I have pancolitis, a form of irritable bowel disease caused by ulcerative colitis. I was diagnosed with it 6 years ago and have not had any issues with my health or medication. This all changed 11 months ago.
Sparing the disgusting details; I have had trouble controlling my bowel movements for those 11 months, resulting in various accidents and having to quit my job in November as it wasn't fair on my colleagues for me to be calling in sick last minute. Over those 11 months, I have been on 3 courses of steroids, higher dosages of old medication and new medications.
None of this worked.
Over the past 2 years I have lost 12kg, which may not seem much, but seeing as my diet consists of mostly junk as it is all my stomach can handle; It's a big deal. Fatigue has also caused muscle wastage to the point where it combines with my arthritis meaning I cannot stay stood up for longer than 15 minutes without my legs trembling.
Last Friday, I went to the hospital to have a full series of blood tests and x-rays done to ensure I am suitable for this new medication they are prescribing me. The medication is administered by IV drip in the hospital, every 8 weeks.
Right now I am on three immunosuppressant medications which have knocked my immune system sideways; previously, I would only get ill twice a year (after going to large conventions). I have had a non-stop flu/cold for about a week now (it isn't covid, I test regularly).
All of this is the reason my art has been slow and commission progress on hold until I can get back on my feet. Today, following a phone call with specialists, I am on the waiting list for the new medication as well as on another course of steroids, vitamin D supplements, folic acid supplements and more to counter the effects the disease has had on my body.
I have my fingers crossed that this is the final hurdle and life can return to normal again.

Following a 10 month, and ongoing, flare up in my illness; I have been unable to work since November.
Long story short; I am flat broke.
We have lasted 4 months with my savings from the brief amount of work I could do last year, but those funds are dwindling with no end in sight to my health problems

My name is Conor and I have suffered with Crohns/Colitis for 5-6 years. It had previously been kept under control with medication, which I developed an immunity to in April of last year.
Crohns/Colitis is an inflammation of the bowel;

Symptoms include; Diarrhea, cramps, tiredness/fatigue, anaemia and arthritis; these are just the symptoms I have.
I am unable to stand for long periods of time due to pain, unable to perform tasks for extended periods due to frequent and urgent bowel movements.
Medication I am currently on (a 3 month trial medication) has not improved my symptoms and have in fact caused additional issues including low white blood cell count and compromised immune system.
All of which is contributing to my inability to return to work.
I also provide full time care for my fiance; this includes household maintenance, food prep/cooking and assisting in general.
Needless to say; I am physically exhausted. I sleep for upwards of 16 hours on a difficult day and still do not feel rested.
I never enjoy asking for help, but we are desperate for money to pay for our food and heating.

I’m going to make a conscious effort to be more active on here again.
I miss a lot of the friends I made via here and want to reconnect with people as well as share more artwork here.

Okay, where to begin with this.
Since lockdown began, I've been looking after my fiancé 
alexdiren
He is a vulnerable adult suffering from autism and mental disability and has found the past 4 months extremely stressful and hard to the point of screaming in tears at night in sheer fear.
So for the past 4 months I have been with him and helping him to deal with everything happening. With lockdown at an end, I am due to return to work and will therefore not be with him any more as we live in separate households.
Obviously, living together is the end goal however it isn't just the separation anxiety that is motivating us.
We have reason to believe that his father is withholding both information and his own money from him. I've been in contact with Citizens Advice to find out what we may be entitled to with housing benefit etc, the problem with this is that I need to know information of my fiancés benefits and income. All of this is being withheld from us by his father, who refuses to provide the information. He has given vague numbers which we know to be fake, after finding a yearly balance for his Employment and Support Allowance. The problem with this is the number he gave us and the number on the balance sheet do not match up; he is taking an extra £45 a month from my fiancé without his knowledge, including taking the entirity of his Disability Living Allowance.
His father consistently claims to earn less than he does (giving ball park figures of £1,000 a month, when his statement says £1,999 a month after tax).
Having brought this issue up to mental health professionals assisting with my fiancés PTSD, they have risen it to a safe guarding issue.
Long story short;
Me and fiancé are desperately trying to move out
Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Posted 7 years agoSo, I'd been unemployed since December last year (of my own choice).
Long story short; the atmosphere of the work place and the attitudes of people there was shit. My mental health suffered.
I'd taken the time to find a job I actually wanted to do a not just a means to make money and pay the bills.
Earlier in the week I went for an assessment for my general skills (Literacy, numeracy and IT skills) and yesterday I went for a face to face interview. Four hours later than emailed me to say I've got the position. It's working as a healthcare assistant for the hospital nearby.
I'm really proud of myself but at the same time so scared to try something so different from what I'd done in the past. Within the 6 month probation period, I need to pass a standards test to ensure I am doing my job right and I am suited to it so I've decided I won't be taking on many/if any commissions at all for the foreseeable future until I've settled in this role and decided if it's something I want to do.
I've got 2 commissions left on my list to do and then that will be it for now.
But I wanna say thank you for all the new watches and support people have shown me recently!

Posted 7 years agoFrustrated cos I've hit a block with art and can't draw anything I'm proud of at the moment, hrmph.
I haven't forgotten about any commissions! I just don't want to hand over a less than optimal product because I want people to feel like they get their monies worth.
Within the next 2-3 months I will also be going in for surgery and will be recovering for about 8 weeks after that, but I'll be sure to give any waiting commissioners at that point the heads up for dates!
