Ricardo Medina Jr, who portrayed Cole, the Red Wild Force Ranger in Power Rangers Wild Force and Dekkar in Power Rangers Samurai and Super Samurai, has been arrested and charged with murder.

The charges stem from a fatal stabbing incident that took place last year in January 2015, leaving Medina’s roommate, Josh Sutter, mortally wounded.
The incident stems from an alleged argument over Medina’s girlfriend that developed between himself and Sutter before the incident turned physical and ended with Medina stabbing Sutter in self defense.

Medina was previously arrested for the stabbing incident but was released due to no charges against him and that further investigation was needed. At the time, the D.A.’s office said the matter was still being investigated and would not rule out charges down the line. That time has finally come.
Medina is scheduled to be arraigned on January 19 in the Antelope Valley Branch of the L.A. County Superior Court. The recent arrest now leaves the actor facing a potential $1 million bail fine and, if convicted, a sentence of 26 years to life in prison.

The official Toei site for Shuriken Sentai Ninninger revealed that Power Rangers Dino Charge Blue Ranger, Yoshi Sudarso, will be appearing in next week’s episode.

Two months ago, Yoshi Sudarso had a holiday trip to Japan, during which he met three of the Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger cast members.
Now, it has been revealed that Yoshi also met the current cast of Shuriken Sentai Ninninger and has filmed a cameo appearance that will appear in Episode 34 next week. This will mark the first time that a Power Rangers actor has appeared in a Super Sentai series in any capacity.

Power Morphicon, the Power Rangers convention, just announced its first five guests for next year’s event.

Those guests are Yuuta Mochizuki (Geki/TyrannoRanger), Seiji Umon (Goushi/MammothRanger), Reiko Chiba (Mei/PteraRanger), and Takumi Hishimoto (Boi/TigerRanger) from Kyoryu Sentai Zyurangers.
They will also be joined by Keiichi Wada, who played Ryou/RyuRanger from Gosei Sentai Dairangers.

Power Morphicon will be held August 12th-14th, 2016 in Pasadena, CA.

The show will feature some new enemies, new energems, new zords, and some new rangers.

Who's excited for the new episodes?

Power Morphicon, a Power Rangers-centric convention run by fans, began in 2007 and has been held bi-annually since its second convention in 2010. Each event has brought a number of guests from the Power Rangers alumni along with guests from shows such as V.R. Troopers, Big Bad Beetleborgs and Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight.

In 2014, Power Morphicon welcomed its first Super Sentai actor as a guest to the event, Yuuta Mochizuki who played Tyrannoranger Geki in 1992’s Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger. He also attended a panel with the original Red Power Ranger, Austin St. John. Power Morphicon 2014 also saw the inclusion of Super Sentai stunt actors Hiroshi Maeda and Yasuhiro Takeuchi as well as the reveal of the Power Rangers Dino Charge cast.

The fifth Power Morphicon will be held on August 12th-14th at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, CA. Memberships will go on sale starting August 1st, 2015.

Liongate announced that they will delay the release of the upcoming Power Rangers film reboot from July 22, 2016 to January 13, 2017. Lionsgate did not provide a reason for the set-back. But, with little more than a year until the original release date, it’s possible that the studio felt like they didn’t have enough of the movie assembled for a Summer 2016 opening.
Indeed, no director or cast has been confirmed yet. Only Dean Israelite has been mentioned as a potential director, but he is far from confirmed.

The Power Rangers film is currently being produced by Haim Saban, Brian Cassentini (of Saban Brands), and Allison Shearmur (Cinderella), with a script being written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (X-Men: First Class, and Thor).

Actor Michael Copon, who is best known as Lucas Kendall/Time Force Blue from Power Rangers Time Force launched an Indiegogo campaign for a rather interesting indie film.

Entitled "The Independent Power Rangers Film", it will focus on Police officer Lucas, a cop from the future who goes back in time to convince Wes to join forces with him in his mission to save the world. But that's not all, they will also assemble a team of superheroes that will help them save the future!

Teaming up with the top scientist and engineers of 2016, these heroes are now equipped with advance machinery and the ability to enhance their DNA to make them super human.
What makes this indie film more interesting is the fact that past Power Rangers actors are in this film.

That's right, past Power Rangers actors are in this film and will essential play a different role in this film.
As what Copon describes it as "The Expendables meets Pacific Rim", but with Power Rangers actors.

Their goal is to raise a total of $200,000 to fund the project. The project's funding will end on April 10th.

Actor Ricardo Medina Jr., best known for his role as Cole Evans/Red Wild Force Ranger from Power Rangers Wild Force was released from jail after no charges were filed against him.

In addition, the Los Angeles district attorney requested further investigation of the case from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Medina was released from their custody at about 1pm (US Pacific Time).


For those who missed out: Ricardo Medina Jr. was taken into custody by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office after receiving a call made by Medina last Saturday about the stabbing of his roommate, Joshua Sutter, at their home in Palmdale, California.

According to law enforcement, Medina got into an argument with his roommate that resulted in a physical altercation.
Medina then returned to his room with his girlfriend but was followed by Sutter, who forced his way into the room.
Medina is said to have stabbed Sutter in the abdomen with a sword that he kept in his room. Sutter was taken to the hospital where he has passed away.

Games company Funtactix, which publishes games based on film and television properties, has announced its partnership with Saban Brands to create a game based on the Power Rangers franchise. Power Rangers: Unite will combine characters and content from every season of the Power Rangers franchise, which began with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1993.

Power Rangers: Unite will offer a brand new storyline to players, which will see Rangers from all 22 seasons of the television show team up to fight a new enemy named Nerodark.
Players will collect and trade Rangers, villains, Zords, and weapons in a card battle experience, which aims to provide entertainment for the franchise’s multiple generations of fans.

“The Power Rangers franchise has a tremendous breadth of mythology – with literally hundreds of characters and weapons, it lends itself perfectly to collection, trading and battle,” said Aaron Berndtson, head of business development at Funtacix, in a statement. “As fans ourselves, we’re thrilled to be partners with one of the biggest TV franchises of all time and are excited to launch an epic game that will appeal to loyal Power Rangers super fans as well the series’ newest viewers.”

The game is set to hit iOS and Android mobile devices sometime in early 2015.
