Absolutely no damage was done to our home, but we were without power for almost a week as power lines and trees were down around us. Yeah, it was a scary time for us, as we weren't sure a tree was going to come hurdling towards our home, but nothing happened. However, we're out about $100 in groceries because of the extended outage, so that kind of sucks.
Our Internet however, is still down. At this time, I am using my phone as a hotspot to send this journal out and let you all know we're safe, and I am even back to working with less distractions (and less art streams :( ). My bulk uploading of content is on hold, though, because the upload speed of a spotty, rural 5G connection is ... not good.

I woke up to my bank account balance being below 100 USD today. Aside for very minor portrait work early this month, I haven't done anything of substance in over a month and it sucks. I asked for a boost in my anti-depressants last week but I'm not yet feeling a difference.
My wife has been working her tail off getting cleaning jobs in the area and keeping our own house clean on top of it. She's also completing some commission work as well.
Oh yeah, and our main air conditioning unit went out a couple weeks ago.
While we received a window unit free of charge to mitigate that, we need help in a bad way. My depression is just not letting me work. I'm working on getting on disability as it is.

No, there isn't a private club or paywall where submissions are restricted behind, I still don't believe in that when a good old commission gets the job done just as easily. I'm just lazy/depressed. :')

Speaking of commissions, I have been slowly rolling out my advertisement of them across some Discord servers in an attempt to not overwhelm myself too fast. They are not yet open for FurAffinity or Inkbunny, but if you know my Discord, you might be able to ask, but I always seem to have my plate perpetually full.

Seeking therapy now and I am in the process of seeking disability as well for my myriad of mental health issues. The way is lit, but still littered with obstacles. Having a steady source of income is ironically going to be better for my ability to produce more artwork. Who knows, maybe more comic stuff? Even if I have been an enby of fewer words these days.

I hope you've been enjoying the three-a-day submissions I've been sending, it shows just how badly backed up my queue is. At this rate, I should be done in about eight or so days as of the posting of this journal.
You may have also noticed that I am posting virtually everything now, too. The Adult stuff is out for show, and no one is going to tell me otherwise. I'm probably not going to go too far back and upload everything over again, because that WILL be too much of a hassle. Sorry to those missing those "classics."

I'm not sure how long of a read this is going to be, so here we go....

It's been a very tumultuous year or so in my head; while my gallery on FA and across the Interbutts is still not up to date, I've been struggling not just to write this journal, but just with ... everything. My struggles with depression have always been a public matter, but I really feel like it has accumulated with the various health issues I've had to make a perfect storm of this ... lump of a waste of space, for lack of better words. I've been on several mixes of medications which do help with my overall mood, but it's not helped with my output, my focus, or just the mental fog that has not lifted since I had my very first migraines and what was a stroke scare back in 2015. Yes, I've seen therapists. Yes, I am on medications, still. Yes, I have had *several* CT scans to see what was wrong. (All of them came up negative.) I do not want any advice for managing whatever the fuck is happening in my head, because I've heard it all, I've tried it all, and I've gotten mixed results.
My commissions have been closed for so long (almost two years) because getting work done has been such a struggle. I've not streamed it in so long because I have not either been in a mood to deal with people, or I have been so self-conscious about showing my work. I would like to finish my commissions as fast as reasonable, obviously, because I like having money to spend on more than the necessities. Who likes to be a little frivolous from time to time? But instead I actually need to save up for the tax man this year because I still owe about $500 USD for that. No, I am not accepting donations, I've received enough handouts this year.
And the DREAMS. They're screwing me up. Today I actually turned off Discord because of a dream where I was fighting literally everyone because they could not leave me or my space alone, and it was just a cascade event. I had such a hard time waking up today, and I probably wouldn't have gotten out of bed if it weren't for my loving wife.
I know this is a lot to take in, but I haven't been open about myself in awhile and I felt it was time to give an update on me, my health, my state of mind. I'm just not doing well, everyone, I'm sorry.

Yes, I am aware of PostyBirb. Just please give me some time, I had to close my DeviantArt (finally), open an InkBlot, and refamiliarize myself with the Tumblr blog I thought I closed down (I didn't).

The month of November as a whole has kind of *sucked* for me, so that's why I have been just so inactive. Extremely limited personal art, NO commission work was finished, and I haven't uploaded anything to any of my regular galleries since apparently October 13. Jesus. Well, there's been a lot of very personal and legal stuff going on, but I can't really divulge any of the latter information. The former, however, I can: Migraines have just been wrecking me again, and I've been redoubling my efforts to improve my diet and supplement intake. I'm already taking medicines for the migraines, I just have to get my stress sources reduced.
Commissions need to remain closed until my queue clears up, since that's one of my stress points. I'm not sure when commissions will open up again.

Hello. I assure you that I am still around, I just ... kinda keep forgetting to upload a piece when I finish it, putting it on Twitter and NO WHERE ELSE for a bit. It's not any sort of purposeful exclusivity, I've just been kind of trapped in .... whatever nonsense is going on in my life and just trying to get something uploaded quickly without worrying about the metadata. This is my fault, I'm trying to rectify that as soon as I can. I've been utilizing Postybirb to batch upload, and I should probably consider using it for when I actually *finish* something, too. I'm sorry about that.

So, as you may have noticed, I have been quietly taking some new commissions without having properly opened, usually across Discord. I'm trying my best to clear my oldest of the queue (one from July, one from October), but at the moment, the 'Mechs that are on commission are severely intimidating me, and I haven't felt confident enough to work on them. I've been doing a lot of other, "lower effort" work to help pay for the bills, at least, but I do so apologize to the two that have been waiting that long. This is why I do not do prepay until I've started the commission.
Once those two are finished, I will be reopening commissions to the general public. No price hike is expected but there will be some minor tweaks: Sketches are going to go down to 15 USD permanently (was 20), Headshots will be 60% off base price (was 50% off), and Waist-highs will be 30% off base price (was 25%). There will also be a little bit of a modest sale coming soon, too, should a piece involve any of my own characters.

I forgot to post this here earlier, but things have been a little whacko for the past several weeks. We were expecting to move on the 1st of October, but some ... eh, circumstances at our intended destination has forced us to delay for awhile. I'm currently alone in the apartment, as Spazman has successfully moved away from here and in to his destination yesterday, and I feel like I'm in a weird sort of limbo where half the crap is packed and has remained that way for a couple weeks while I'm trying to deplete the pantry in a healthy way.
So, I do apologize for the staggered submissions that have been coming in here, which has nothing to do with the move. I've just been a little lazy keeping things updated. My most up to date submissions are at my Twitter, but I will try to get this gallery up to date soon. But even on Twitter, I haven't been doing a lot of work because of the weird limbo situation. Since I'm waiting for things to develop, I've gone back to drawing, hoping to have a clear queue by the time I'm at my destination.

I've just been accidentally neglecting some of my galleries because I haven't had a ton of energy for actually submitting things. Doing so to Twitter is relatively painless, but I need to get everything I've drawn since December on here. So, expect a boatload of stuff to come in. Sorry about that!

Commissions are ... open? But small projects only. That is, I'm only willing to take sketch and rough color commissions of one or two characters, no 'Mechs or vehicles at this time, as I have some larger items on queue that need to be finished.

A couple quick things: First, I just got Medicaid. That has been a HUGE weight off of our shoulders as far as medical expenses go.
Second, Spazman purchased a new-to-me motherboard and case compatible with my CPU core and RAM with no strings attached. Even with the GeForce GTX 1660 Super installed, the restarting issue has gone away for good, which means the old Dell motherboard was either straight overpowered or was starting to die. I just have some driver residue to clean up now...

So back to my health.
The migraine issues have mostly gone away. I have some Gunnar clip-ons for my glasses that help with blue light and I have been trying to minimize my time under fluorescent lights. Which does make my shopping trips look like episodes of Supermarket Sweep, if anyone's watched that old gameshow, but it also dooms any chances I have of ever working another "real" job. (That and the loud, echo-y sounds that these sorts of places tend to generate.)
I've also been taking a new cocktail of medications to help with my low mood. As most are aware, I have been dealing with depression for most of my life. I'm glad to finally be getting the help I need because this medicine is working very well. In a week I am expecting to have some ADD pills ready for me for pickup.

Commissions are remaining closed, but I am now working on the main queue again. Expect them to open up Soon ™.

It's not the power supply. It may be the motherboard, or something on the PCI-E bus. But by this point I'm just too tired and way too stressed out to bother working on the machine anymore, since we're still stable without plugging in the new video card. Ughhhh. Windows had updated, and then left the machine unable to boot because Windows wanted to use a dummy Boot sector left over from when I switched over hard drives in January of last year. This problem has since been fixed.

Migraines themselves have simmered but a very similar tension headache issue has reared its ugly head. I've been seeing a doctor over the Internet about these problems and was set back $330 USD for medication and the "visit" (since reimbursed by a donation drive last week). I've also started seeing a therapist in person but I've not started any medication yet, and these visits are also costing me money.

I will not be opening up commissions yet until my queue is cleared up. And my queue can't be cleared up until my health improves. That's why you haven't seen much from me here on FA, and even if you watch me on Twitter, it's only been sketches.

The computer has been stabilized and we have identified that it is indeed the power supply that is acting up. I've been waiting to hear back from the manufacturer of the power supply (Corsair) for quite awhile now as it's still under warranty, but at this point I'm starting to lose hope. My system right now has the original power supply that came with the machine... and with it, the video card, too, because the older PSU doesn't have the right plugs or power output to handle the big badass new card anyway. But no surprise, the system has been stable ever since I downgraded.

Now theoretically, this means I can get back to work again: SAI and CSP doesn't need a great video card to run, just plenty of RAM.

Which leads me to the migraines issue I touched on last journal. They got so bad last week that I actually had to go to the emergency room to seek immediate relief. I'm not at all happy with the fact I had to do that, what with how American health care is, but it was absolutely necessary. I have another appointment to follow this up in a few days, and I've been nursing it ever since. It's never truly fully gone away, no matter what I do.
What is going to happen is if things don't improve for me soon, there could be refunds for those who paid, and a complete cancellation of the queue, and I may never open for commissions again in the foreseeable future.

Yo. A big reason I have been "slacking" with commissions (aside for the Puddle YCHs) this month is because of a never-ending string of computer issues, failures, and gremlins, starting with a failing data hard drive, and a blown graphics card (GeForce 780 GTX: blow out your fans!!!).
After getting those parts replaces, more things happened. While the Windows Operating System has been rendered MORE stable with time and fixes, my computer is now experiencing a black-screen restart about once a day. Audio and video stutters and pauses for about 5 seconds, both monitors go black, then five seconds later, power goes off. 5-10 seconds later, the computer restarts. With help, we have narrowed it down to either the brand new graphics card (An MSI NVidia GeForce 1660 GTX Super) or the two-year old power supply. (A Corsair CX750M) This final issue has started happening ONCE the GPU was installed, so I am about 90% certain it's that and not the power supply...

There was also the week of migraines, but if the computer has been suffering this much since like mid-May, it's kind of difficult to work.

Whoops. I seem to have bitten off a little more than I can chew. Anyway, once I get some of this queue out of here, I will reopen again.

I've been let go from the job. I'm rehireable, it's fine. I just didn't adapt to the circumstances very well.

So, as a result, artwork is coming down the pipeline again.

Details on the job: 40 hours a week, 5 days a week, at night.
Working for Circle-K as an associate during the graveyard shift, alone.
Can bring laptop... for music.

I will need to see how things play out before I even attempt to do my commission work while on the clock. I've seen the night shift's to-do list, and while it may be only a couple hours' worth of work, there is still the matter of customers to serve. Not to mention I am on camera. I got away with doing artwork in Limon (because I did my store work!!), but I will have to feel out management and see if they would allow me to pull such stunts there.
That said, I will be sleeping late in the morning right after work, so if I have the energy, I can still attempt to do commission work during a short stream or two during the work week, before my scheduled shift, or just during my weekend if I am up for it.
What this means to anyone on the list, and potential customers, is that output will be reduced. The queue isn't particularly long so I can still take a couple more commissions, though it could be a month before I get to you. I enjoy doing this, I really do, so that's why I am remaining open.
