FYI [Important, please read!]
Posted 9 years agoJust so everyone knows, I'm kind of navigating away from using FA- for a lot of reasons. This actually has NOTHING to do with the site outage, though that kind of solidified the decision.
Primary reasons I'm leaving are:
1) I feel the site puts a lot of pressure to involve sex appeal to succeed.
2) I am not solely a furry artist, and want to feel like I am able to draw humanoid art, too.
3) Even before the outage and all that, I have noticed more and more questionable actions by site admins and the community.
4) I just don't have the time to operate all the sites that I do, and still be able to enjoy my life and do things like roleplay to de-stress.
5) IMVU own it ok like do I need more reason to be distrustful than that? If I'd known that when I came here I probably never would have made the account.
TO THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN CONTINUING TO WATCH MY ART: I have made a new deviantArt account(a journal explaining why will be posted to my old one soon), which you can fine here: http://lithionsky.deviantart.com
Yes, I understand that DA has PLENTY of issues, just like FA, but it's hard to find a decent platform that is NOT furry-specific. If anyone has any suggestions of better sites please shoot me a message somewhere.
I will be continuing to long onto this account until such time as the remaining 6 freebies I owe are completed and posted, at which point the profile will be labelled inactive and will contain links to my new accounts.
While it is possible I may someday return to FA, it's not particularly likely to happen anytime soon.
Thanks everyone who's supported me to this point, and double thanks to those who continue to support me in the future!

Mini Updates
Posted 9 years agoSome may notice I haven't been as active as of late- that's in part due to settling into a new place, and that's in part due to something a lot bigger- I'm not exactly happy with where I'm at with my art.
I'm not going to go through all the details of why(it's really too long to go over in a journal, for me) so here's the bones of things: I'm NOT quitting art. I'm going to take a bit of a break and take some personal time- I may not upload anywhere near as much during that time. This also means I won't be posting YCHs- however I WILL be posting adoptables on my adopt account, princelyadoptables
I have 6 freebies left- I WILL be getting to them, just a great deal more slowly.
Thanks so much for your patience and understanding, everyone!
Phew!
Posted 9 years agoWell, it's been a bit since I checked in, and things are going nicely! Employment visa is taking its sweet old time, so I'm still relying on commission money to get me by, but I'm managing.
Homie is lovely, as expected, and good goshness Sam and Dean Winchestpurr(his kitties) are just the sweetest cutest most cuddly things.
But they still won't let me pick them up. D:
I have six freebies left- took advantage of the energy rush of 'holy crap new safe home!!!' to get a few done, but now I'm feeling the effects of the trip a little more, and all I want to do is sleep and watch Marvel movies.
I'm still taking it easy, socialising-wise, but I am getting back in the swing of the art thing with some YCHs. I really WANT to do more personal art, and I have all these fantastic ideas for prints(Yes! Those are going to be a thing in the near-ish future!) and a convention booth.... But I currently am only really able to focus on what brings me income, which is primarily YCHs, followed by commissions.
That said, anyone who has gotten work from me before who is interested in seeing it as a print, please let me know!
At some point I may contact a few people to see if they're alright with prints being made of their character, and I hope in the near future that a mailed print can be an option on commissions!
So guess what?
Posted 9 years agoIt's the 28th. I'm still on the train. You know why? Things got changed around and the trip from Toronto to Halifax(which should take a MAXIMUM of 14 hours with no layovers) is taking just over 26 hours instead. So rather than 5:30 yesterday I'll HOPEFULLY be arriving by 6:00 today.
In other news, I will be spending roughly the next week jammin with my friend and traveling all over Halifax and checking out all the beautiful scenery(assuming the severe weather warning for 12+inches of snow tomorrow and the day after don't get us snowed in, in which case we'll probably just marathon something together).
After that, I will hopefully be starting my new job, but posting will be back to normal. In a little bit I'll be uploading a couple of YCHs that'll be open for bidding for a few weeks to keep things steady! I've been trying to draw more males/masculine figures, however a lot of the YCHs I have ready are from older sketches, so it may be a bit before I start getting a lot more manly men up.
If anyone is interested in seeing pictures from my trip up, you'll find them over the next few days on my tumblr(note: this is not an 'art' only tumblr, but a personal blog where I also post art things, as I tend to keep my tumblr experience pretty casual).
Updates + Things to Come
Posted 10 years agoLately things have not been feeling very good for me, but I think I know why.
Primarily, it's nerves for moving. In less than ten days I'll be in another country for the first time, essentially permanently. Who wouldn't be nervous?
But in addition to that, it's the ever-growing list of things I need to do. Details aren't important here, but my family keeps piling things on before I go, and I still have 9 freebie drawings to do. I hate that I've let these take so long, and I hate that I've kept you guys waiting so long, but I'm so absolutely grateful to everyone for your patience! Really- I haven't gotten one message pestering about them, and that feels absolutely fantastic!
They are getting done. They are.
But for the next few weeks or so, I'm going to focus on me and moving. I may do some personal work during this time if I have free time, or I might work on the freebies if the mood strikes me, but the next fourteen days are mine. I've got lots of running around with my roommate planned after I move, and hopefully that will be just what I need to snap me out of this funk(if the several hundred miles of new scenery by train isn't enough!).
After that, I'll be posting 2 new YCH sketches for auction, and cranking out freebies.
And after that it's finally back to business as usual, with some YCHs and whatever else. I plan on doing a LOT of studies this year, in addition to some other goals like getting in shape.
There probably won't be a HUGE change in activity once I start my job, but an announcement will be posted anyway, just to be safe.
Thanks for reading, love you all!

Posted 10 years agoIn the interest of keeping a clean profile, and because I honestly hate the 'shout' system,if you just want to strike up a conversation please use the comments section on this particular journal! If you just want to say hey, or to fling a cool video at me, or ask me to RP, or questions about my characters, or whatever really, this is the place to do it~!❤
I suggest not starting a coversation with 'how are you', because my answer is, and will always be 'fine!'.
It's very hard for me to keep up conversations with no substance, so I would highly recommend having a topic in mind~!
A word about terms and conditions
Posted 10 years agoWe've all seen it, people don't always read the TOS.
And I'm gonna say right now. I don't care why not, read the friggin TOS.
There's been a few issues I've witnessed of people just... not reading, getting mad, pitching a fit, and causing more trouble for everyone around than is healthy.
This next section is copy/pasted and edited somewhat from a comment I posted recently:
It's very important to read an artist's TOS when commissioning them, as the artist's TOS is law with regards to that commission, so you know about things like...
Time it takes to finish a piece:
If an artist states in their TOS that it takes 1-3 months, it doesn't mean 1-3 months of working solely on your piece, this does not even mean 1-3 months without doing any personal work. It just means that it will take 1-3 months for the piece to be completed. End of story. They could draw 500 fully personal works in that time, and given you your commission exactly three months from when you ordered it, and it would have been within their rights because by purchasing a commission you are agreeing to her TOS. You are making a contract. It does not matter how small or simple your piece is, because the TOS applies to all pieces.
Or
Refunds:
I'm just going to point out that most artists won't even give a partial refund if they have so much as sketched the piece. You changing your mind does not change the work they've put into the art. Can you imagine if someone had gotten a half-finished sculpture from Michaelangelo and said 'Hmm yes, I don't want this anymore, give me all of the money I paid you back'? Or in a more real-life situation, if you purchased dinner at a restaurant, ate half of it and said you wanted a full refund because you changed your mind and wanted to eat somewhere else? No. They wouldn't even give you half your money back.
By commissioning someone, you agreed to all of their terms of service, even if you didn't bother to read them. Just like DA's TOS applies even though most people don't read a site's terms when they sign up and agree. Nearly every artist has terms and conditions to protect themselves and their clients, and not all of them are the same. That's why it's so important to read the TOS before commissioning an artist.
I could go on for hours about why it's important to read the TOS, but honestly these are the two biggest things I see, and I already had them written up(and I'm lazy sometimes) and have commissions of my own to get to, as well as wrist pain to ignore, so I'll just leave this here and call it a day.

Flash Giveaway/Active Watcher Check!!!
Posted 10 years agoI wanna know how many of my watchers are actually active(y'all are so quiet! @_@) so I'm doing a flash giveaway!
Comment on this journal in the next three days, and if you're watching me(no new watchers this time, sorry!) You'll get a free piece of art! Now what this art is could be anything from a sketch to a badge-style bust, and there's no guarantee what you'll get, but hey, it's free, and all you gotta do is prove you're alive to read this! Every watcher of mine who comments will get free art- even if all 44 of you comment!
(although that'll take quite a while, I really don't expect it to happen lmao)
This giveaway will only be going on for the next two days, meaning it'll end on October 14, 2015, and this journal will be deleted once everyone has their free art!
This giveaway is also happening on DA- for those of you who watch me on both, I'm afraid only one comment will count!
If this goes well, I might start doing it more often! This means that new watchers will have this opportunity in the future!

{CLOSED}Free Art{Raffle}
Posted 10 years agoYup, you're reading that right. I'm giving away art!
This raffle is taking place both on deviantArt and Furaffinity, and winners will be decided via random number generator to keep things fair. So here's what's in it for you:
Prizes(determined partially by number of entries):
✪ First place will be a full colour digital piece- flat colour unless I really like the character design.
✪ Two Runner-ups will receive full colour digital Chibis
~ If the raffle exceeds fifteen entries two additional runner ups will receive sketches!
~ If the raffle (somehow) exceeds twenty-five entries more prizes will be added!
~ Some additonal art may be awarded depending on how I feel, regardless of the number of entries. Don't count on this.
And now for those pesky rules:
✪ You must be following me- no following and unfollowing, because that's plain rude, and you will not only be banned from future events, but blocked as well. Only follow me if you like my art- not because you want it for free.
✪ NSFW refs are allowed, all art will be SFW
✪ Please do not ask for a specific pose/outfit/etc, this is free art, after all. Asking for specifics will void your entry.
✪ A comment on this journal including the phrase 'gee willickers'(to prove you read the rules) and a link to your ref will get you one 'ticket'
~ One 'ticket', you say? Does this mean I can get more? Well you sure can, go ahead and look below.
✪ By entering this raffle you are agreeing to my Request T.O.S.(see also for a list of things I will/will not draw)
Ways to earn additional 'tickets'(optional):
✪ Posting a journal/poll signal boosting this raffle and posting a link to it here will earn you one additional 'ticket'
~ This has a max of 3 'tickets', one for a FA journal, one for a DA journal, and one for a DA poll
~ Please don't delete the journals/polls until the raffle is over- I will check.
✪ Following me on both deviantArt and Furaffinity will earn you two additional 'tickets'
~ Comment on both profiles with your usernames for both websites
~ Yes, this does apply if you already follow me on both accounts- just be sure to comment so I know!
✪ Referring a friend to watch me(on either account) will earn you three additional 'tickets'
~ Have your friend comment on my profile giving your username and stating that you sent them
~ Once again, following and unfollowing is not allowed
~ In the event that this friend follows me on both DA and FA you will be given an additional five tickets instead of three.
~ Don't use duplicate accounts- I'm not a fool, I can tell.
Thanks so much everyone. This raffle isn't for any special reason, it's just because I felt like doing something nice.
This raffle ends on July 10th
