Hey y'all, I hope you are enjoying 2025 so far, although we still have a long way to go, I decided to give you guys a sneak peek of what's to come during this year. Like I said, I won't rely on New Year's Resolutions when it comes to new ideas and such as my goal is to just let it happen naturally and if it doesn't, oh well. Not sure if anyone is reading or even seeing this since I only show up once in a blue moon nowadays, but I wanted to make a list of some art I plan to do in the upcoming week and following one as well just in case I get some new watchers and such.

Hello everyone, it's Deb aka Gem here and it's been a while since I made an update journal.


I do wanna apologize if I haven't been posting as much as I have been. Some of you know the story, others, whether they be newbies or not, may not and can't say I blame you if you don't. Doesn't help that DA aka my first introduction to art has changed since the last almost 15 years I'd been on here and it keeps getting worse as time goes by. Mainly with the AI art trend still going on and some formats changing. DA hasn't been the same ever since Eclipse fucked it over. Some may argue it got worse before then, but I was only a young laddie in the 2010s once I came to dA, so I wouldn't be the first one to know. Regardless, I don't blame others for either leaving for good or just coming through, here or there, to see how the site in general has been.


With that said, how has life been for me since my last update from April?


Well, I guess my mental health has sorta been improving lately. There is still a few bumps in the road when it involves working for your family and helping them out whenever they need me and vice versa; and of course, I still have my darling  princekaptian on my side too no matter how much crap we're put through whether it be money or just going on with life, thank you so much honey for always being on my side no matter what and despite my flaws, thank you for loving me for who I am. <3


Basically, Nick has been my rock throughout these 6 years we been together and of course, I do have my close friends still by my side. Even if they're no longer on dA, aren't on here and we now prefer Discord, thank you all so much for the love and support you all given me no matter how many times I'd fallen and gotten back up. When others gave up on me, you all chose to stay by my side and can't thank you all enough.


As for art and writing, those are still coming up ASAP, I'm just working on a new schedule to help me maintain old and new hobbies in order to help my mental health. :)


To those who still wish to support me and be a friend/ally; whether you're an oldie or newbie, I still thank you regardless. I know I'm not perfect and I don't blame those who did unwatch me because they saw my account as "inactive" (Which technically has been, won't lie), but I'm still trying, still revamping, still going. <3

Hi everyone, I'm back from my 1 and a Half Month hiatus!


I'm glad to finally be back, it kinda felt refreshing to take some time off and give myself the break I needed.


But now that 2024 is upon us and we'll be half way done with the 2020s, I'd figured now is the time to write down some goals I hope to accomplish in 2024.


The Top 5 I mainly wanna aim for are:


Be healthier and happier; both mentally and physically. This means working out more, cutting down on junk/fast/unhealthy food, and meditating as much as possible.


Work on a Productive Schedule or Routine. This includes cleaning, getting enough sleep, and setting goals and taking breaks when needed.

Invest in and expand new fandoms, hobbies, and interests. One example is to play more video games since I got an Nintendo Switch this year and some games to go along with it, :)and since I'd always wanted to be a gamer, now is my chance!


Focus more on original content, but not less on fanwork. For those who don't know, while I do tend to make fanart and fanfics 95% of the time, but I would like focus my priority on doing more original work. Mainly for stories and series I would like to make for my own characters. Some of you may have seen them, others not so much.


Work on YouTube, or at least be an Influencer. Now this one is a bit tricky because nowadays, being a YouTuber or Influencer usually means a toxic person. :/ However, what I mainly wanna do as said topic is basically use my platform; whether it be YouTube or dA, to help promote my future content as mentioned above. One of my main goals is to be a writer or a producer. I would love it one day if anything I wrote, book or series, were to be published one day.



2024 here I come!

Hey everyone, not sure how many people are gonna read or even see this, but for the 5% of the people who still do care, I'm still gonna post this:


I'm thinking about taking a hiatus from Thanksgiving to New Years' Day. The reason being is once again mental health issues, but also I still wish to work more on myself. I know I'd said it before so many times to the point where I sound like a broken record and at this point, I basically have a social media influnecer's personality, but I feel like this year wasn't the best for me. Haven't been always happy, been dealing with unhealthy habits, and I need to get it together before 2024 comes soon.


Futhermore, I'd been relapsing and that I'd broken one, too many promises, and also, I'd been dragging my friends into my personal drama that involved my RL issues and past grudges. Not only was that immature of me, but also rude, unhealthy, unnecessary, and yes, unacceptable for me to. Just because I'm in therapy doesn't mean I'm getting better. That's still a mountain I need to climb.


I will be back around January 2nd if possible. I'm sorry that this year wasn't the best for me and that I haven't been happy.

Hey everyone, well today is the last day of July, thus August and the end of summer will begin. It's been a month since I last updated and I can't blame anyone who's still wondering where I'd been ever since I lost power during the storm. Well, here's a few updates:


First off, my arm has been injured since Friday. I ended up getting a second degree burn on my left forearm while working outside, so I had to go to the E.R. Honestly, it hurts more than when it first got burn. Hopefully through with some physical care, it will heal just in time.


Speaking of working outside, that's what I been doing lately or at least been trying to do lately. It's honestly been a pain in the ass to due to the hot heat here in Texas and my mom also being very specific on how to do it right. It's stressful, but hey it's the price you pay when living on rural land. Lol.


My partner  princekaptian started a new job at Domino's to help get by a little faster since his hours at his first job got cut. I am, however, in the process of whether I should reopen my PayPal and open up commissions just so I can earn a little cash myself; but we'll see where we're at.


Fandom/Interests Wise:

To those who watch me or like me just for Miraculous Ladybug content, well I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but towards the end of the year and the beginning of the new year, I'm officially gonna retire from the show. I'm sorry to those who liked my content relating to it, but I think it's about time I put my passion for it to rest. If you'd been in or have been aware of the fandom as well as the show's fanbase for so long, then you would understand why I'm ready to permanently retire from it. I'll still do fanwork for it; especially the ones I'm making on my Tumblr, but I'm gonna call it quits on the show for good once I begin S5 and watch the movie on Netflix; and believe me, I'm not looking forward to either one of them, :|


On a positive note, I'd recently got into The Owl House and the American Girl dolls and while I may not get the latter anytime soon, I do adore the characters and their stories, and how each of them talk about a specific time in History. ^^


As for plans for August and for the rest of the year, personally I don't think I should write down a big list due to my injury, so I'm just gonna stick with the usual routine and try to make the best of it; even if it's one piece of art or a writing prompt.

Hi everyone, so first thing's first to get out of the way: We, as in Eastern Texas, recently got hit by a terrible and severe thunderstorm Thursday night, so that means all the power was gone and out for about 3-4 days at least and still is. The good news is we are said to get it back some time this week, but I wouldn't count on it right away.


The reason why I'm mentioning this is because that means that my art will most likely be delayed again. The only reason why I'm able to even connect in the first place is because of we have generators and extension cords at the moment to help us out. Lol.


Regardless, I do apologize for the awful inconvenience. I'm still in progress of making new art and writings, even those that will be for Pride Month, though depending how things will play out, they might be delayed or belated. We'll see.

HAVE A REST OF A HAPPY PRIDE MONTH EVERYONE~

Hey y’all, I just wanna say that I’m officially back from my 1 month hiatus! :) Not much changed really, but I did get to achieve a majority of my goals such as make new art and watch a few shows and movies from here to there. :) One of them being the new Super Mario movie and it was amazing! I’d even got to see it in Dallas! I’m hoping to go back there one day. :D


I was also able to sketch and color a few new drawings from here to there, got some new dolls and toys to collect and cuddle & hug for emotional support, experimented with some essential oils to ease my anxiety, meditate and bathe to ease my stress, drank more water than usual, and all in all, did my best to keep my mental/behavioral health in check. :)


My only regret really is not getting a majority of art or stories done, but what I do know is that I’m honestly really happy that I took this hiatus. I feel like my mental health is doing a lot better, mainly due to not just stepping away from the internet and Social Media in general, but also stepping away from the things that were making me a toxic and negative person to begin with. ^^; I won’t mention who or what they are, but I will say it’s not really their fault. I’d been insecure and nasty that instead of carrying my own baggage, I’d expected others to do it for me. Especially my own BF. However, after talking to some friends and gaining a new friendship as time went by, I’m gonna make it a personal goal to not leave my baggage at the door anymore and learn to move on. It may not be easy 24/7 and it may not work 100%, but at the end of the day, I have to do it. It’s what's gonna help me grow as not just an artist or a writer, but as a person as a whole. <3

Hey there, not really much to say except yeah I’m still around, just as always, not as much as you expected. I kinda fell off track last week, so I’m trying to get back up and keep trying.

I did some new art as always, and am still writing as well. In fact, I’m gonna be posting some new material as much as I can this week and weekend hopefully. Thankfully because it’s Lent (Yes, I’m Catholic, deal with it.) I gave up sleeping in so I’d been learning to get by 9 or earlier so I can start my day.

Honestly, I don’t have much to say. It’s just the same “Blah Blah Inactive,” “Blah Blah dealing with life,” “Blah Blah focusing on my health,” so there’s really no point repeating myself. Lol.

Merry belated Christmas to all my friends and watchers. I hope you all had a fun and happy time with every one of your loved ones, and you all got fantastic gifts! I definitely had a great time and got everything I'm grateful for. Now, it's time to relax and wrap up whatever we have left of 2022 before the new year comes. :)


I know I had a bit of a mixed bag of a year and sure did my own BF. From moving out to Vegas to becoming a Texas resident to finally getting my own place to leaving certain groups due to relapsing; basically I had my ups and downs. ^^;


That's also why I'm here: I'm gonna take a week off of social media, but not fully. What I mean is that during the New Year week, I'm gonna limit my time online to only 1-4 social medias a day. This is something I ended up doing because I thought it would be healthy for me, so I can focus a little more on myself. I know I said that a lot, but it's true. ^^;


There's a lot of stuff I want to and would love to focus on; whether it be trying new art forms or styles, to writing more often, to watching old and new movies, I want to learn to maintain a better healthy life; mainly mentally because that's where I struggle with the most; if you haven't noticed by now.


I really wish I could explain more and I know most of my posts and the updates I make are either ignored or neglected, but I don't care. I just want one person to hear me and hopefully understand me a little more. All I know is that my goal starting January 1, 2023, I focus a little more on not just art, but new hobbies. This includes:


Studying new subjects

Exercising/Eating Right/Managing Weight Loss

Yoga/Meditation

Developing my own ideas

Getting better sleep

Practicing self-care


I don't know if I'll be able to complete all these goals, but I'm hoping to complete most of them; because that's what I'd learned this year. It's best to get most goals done than all of them; and as long as you're satisfied with what you have that's all that matters.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

Hey guys, well since I'd figured since Christmas and the Holidays are coming, I decided now is the time to use this time for my own Mental Health and have a Mental Health week for myself. :) Don't worry, I'm not going through any depression episodes or anything, but with the year ending, I want to make it a personal goal to end the year on a happy note for myself and others, and decide to focus the things I love and cherish the most. This includes things such as drawing and painting more, but also getting back into writing and start working on some of my original series for my OCs that I'd posted on here. ^^ It may take a while for me to post them, but they definitely will be coming. In addition, I will also be posting some belated Halloween art I had in mind and if possible, Christmas related art. ^^
