What's Going On + Where I've Been
Posted 3 years agoI typically don't like making journals like this. Often I feel like it leads people to believe that I'm putting out excuses or seeking pity for my current situation. I usually pride myself on being as transparent as possible with commissioners, friends, family, ect. with everything going on in my life but I've fallen behind on this. Truthfully I feel terrible for not having reached out to commissioners which is why I am posting here on FA to let everyone know what exactly is happening.
I'm burned out.
I'm doing everything within my power to go and work on art for commissioners but every time I stare at the screen or the paper, I feel such a burning inside of me. I become frustrated nothing is coming out correctly. I've been working on the same commission for a month. It's been agonizing to try and get back into the swing of it all. After going through a recent depression combined with suicidal ideations, trying to create has been more of a chore than something I enjoy. And god do I hate it.
In the next week or two, I'm going to try and work on personal art and see if that helps me. A good majority of art I've done in the past year has been commission based. The only things I've created for myself have been messy sketchy concepts for my OC's world and story. See if it helps me to get this spark back to be able to finish up what is on my list. I hate my turnaround times aren't as good as they normally are. I want to create for people but I need to get over this hump.
I'm sorry if this journal seems like I'm whining. I just wanted to update everyone on what exactly is going on. I'm going to work towards getting back to it. I promise. Especially because my commissions will become even more limited while I work on finally opening up the Patreon for my passion project. I work on it a little bit during my lunches (I work full-time so my hr lunch is the best time for me to do things for it) and I'm excited to get through this and finally share it with the world.

Posted 7 years ago Hey ya'll! Sorry I've been more or less quiet on here. I sneakily post some stuff here and there but I haven't gotten tons and tons of art recently. Once I get my new character tho I'll be having an art spree of her heh....someone take my wallet plz.
Anyway my next con will be Furnal Equinox up in Toronto! I'll be staying at the main hotel with some friends and hopefully the boyf c: Gonna do some suiting but I'm gonna try to not overdo it like I did at AC. Last thing I need is to be in pain 24/7 at a convention I'm trying to enjoy myself. So I'm gonna be going slower for the convention.
Hope to meet some new friends there and have a lot of fun <3 Hopefully get some awesome art too~

Camp Feral Report!
Posted 7 years ago Hey there everyone~ I've just returned from my very first ever Camp Feral and my goodness what an experience!
At the beginning it was a bit of a panic inducing ordeal. Going to a new place, especially one further into Canada than I've ever been on my own, made me go into overdrive in terms of my thinking and how I went about the day. It took me about 5 1/2 hrs to get from where I live to the camp and during the entire time I ran on nothing but half a Pepsi. I should have eaten SOMETHING but I was so afraid of my stomach being dodgy (it almost seems like anything can set it off) that I would be forced to stop multiple times. On top of that with my nerve and back pain, the most I can take during long drives is ibuprofen...otherwise I can't be behind a wheel.
That unfortunately ended up causing me quite a bit of grief when I first arrived. Registration was a 45 minute long wait standing on uneven ground and then making way to the main lodge to grab dinner. With my issues, standing and walking is hard, so couple that with not eating that made everything pretty hard. Somehow I managed to eat two plates of food, walk back to my car, unpack, re-park, and then walk alllll the way back to my cabin up on the hill. Needless to say...I was exhausted, shaking, feeling sick, and wanting to rest. My nerves were getting the better of me and I came very close to packing my bags and driving as much as I could before finding a hotel to stay the night in before heading home.
Thankfully, my pride kept me from doing just that and I pushed on.
I was terrified of my cabin mates at first. Then again, anyone put in a situation with no one they knew around being thrust into staying 4 days with complete strangers would obviously be afraid. It didn't help I was afraid of being stuck with a top bunk and till I came out saying I was afraid of heights (which I am. im terrified of even standing on a step stool because of my bad ankles) and took a bottom bunk did a little bit of my nerves settle. Slowly talking more to my cabin mates and them all being re-assuring that nothing was gonna happen and they weren't going to bite helped me open up more.
The start was certainly rocky but as the weekend went on, it went better.
I began to talk more, joke with people, idly chat with people in line for meals and join others when just sitting around drawing. I made friends and so many memories that will stay with me for years to come. I spent time at workshops creating, drawing with artists, and just enjoying sitting in the sun and watching it shine on the lake. The people at Feral, staff and campers a like, are all incredible people. They warmly welcome newcomers with open arms and treat them with so much compassion and kindness. Clover, the first responder and one of the staff members, reassured me I wasn't a bother to them when I came to them when I was sick the second day.
The rich food didn't sit well in my stomach and well...my cabins toilet became my best friend for a good 5 hrs. It seemed like each day threw something at me. The last full day ended up with my back spasming. I have 3 herniated discs as well as spinal stenosis so its a shock it took that long for anything to really happen to me. Of course it didn't happen while moving oh no it happened...when I was eating breakfast. So lovely.
Despite the back issues it was easy to take care of with the back up medication I brought. It did limit my mobility but god it was a blessing to not have pain shooting up and down my legs for a bit.
Before I knew it, it was time to go home and normally how I do things with stuff like this, I make sure to leave as quickly as I can to get back home with it being such a long drive. I didn't want to go back to reality but it had to be done. I can only hope that next year comes soon enough <3 I'll be doing my best to set something up like my own workshop if allowed and maybe even sell some things at the trading post. Who knows? All I know is that I truly can't wait till next year to see everyone again <3
Post AC Journal/Whut A Wheeker Doin'
Posted 7 years ago AC has come and gone and its been what...2 or 3 weeks? I had a bit of post con depression but otherwise, I just kept remembering the good times I had at AC. That helped the con sadness <3. I do miss Pittsburgh a lot still but I'll be back there soon enough. Maybe I'll take a weekend down to visit some friends and try going to the PGH bowl again. Last time I was so anxious I had a panic attack in my suit x 3 x'.
I did get quite a bit of sweg from AC. Lots of shirts from Hyena Agenda, stickers, Zoids (i nearly pissed myself when i saw someone selling), plushies, and cute things for friends who all loved their gifts!
Now what have I been doing since AC? Just finishing up commissions, building Zoids, and getting a lot of pr0nz lol. Hopefully I'll have more soon and even two daki designs to show ya'll from two amazing artists ;3~. I'm gonna be pushing commissions more and working at getting my IG back up and showing more art. I adore drawing but I love it more if I do stuff for other people lol.

Posted 10 years agoIs it me or did the registration open earlier than last year? Cause I remember it being like...Feb. 2015 it opened or did I just wait too long to get a ticket x'D?
Looks like I'm gonna have to find a room to stay in. I'm scared of strangers so I might see if the local group has people looking for roomies for AC 2016. I'm hoping to save up with this job (maybe sell a few things I have too or really push commissions) to get a Super Sponsor membership. Which after my pay check after Thanksgiving/Black Friday, I should be able to get :3~
I think a few locals or someone watch me on here so if anyone would potentially be interested in rooming, hit me up ^^! Otherwise I might just see if my mom and bestie wanna go again and all of us work on saving up to go :3.
EDIT: Wow I almost forgot that my girlfriend might be visiting around AC so...it might be mom, her, me and my best friend...MAYBE

Back from AC!
Posted 10 years agoI actually got home last night but I was too exhausted from driving and in general so I didn't make a journal.
Anyway I'm home and glad I am cause I was missing my animals terrible and stuff. From what I was able to do, I had a lot of fun at AC. The one thing that sucks about being introverted is I cannot talk to people, I freeze up and I really wanted to make friends but this year just didn't seem like it would be my year for that.
On top of that I ended up very very VERY sick. Both me and my best friend did actually and it was pretty bad. We came in on Friday late and had nothing but problems with our hotel room (couldn't get the roll away bed for 5+ hours and you could push our door and BAM opened without a keycard) so we missed pretty much 2 days of the convention. She was sick Friday night while I was sick Saturday night...it wasn't pretty. I honestly should have taken the hint from getting sick at the beginning of the week + tripping and hurting my ankle before AC that this wasn't going to be an amazing trip ^^'.
But! On the bright side, I did have fun. I wanna try really hard for next year to be more social and stuff (being shy + anxiety + selective mutism = one mess right there). Hopefully I WON'T be sick so I can go to dances and stuff. Also im gonna leave before people are ready because between my friend and my mom they take way too long to get ready so when I'm up I'm just gonna suit up and waddle out :'3.
I did get this glass set i was wanting which is awesome, plus a shirt and some nice smelling fursuit spray (a group of ladies complimented how Shock Top smelled ammaaazinnngg and that made my day) and a few other little things. Mostly I got some cute souvenirs for my girlfriend ^^. She's gonna love em!
Anyway that was my AC, I'm gonna be doodling more stuff and looking for a part time job so I don't just vegetate all damn day lol. Maybe do commissions (if anyone ever commissions me haha I can dream) or something because I'm so bored with out anything to do art wise but I sketched some things at AC i wanna doodle up on my comp and what not.

1 Year on FA
Posted 10 years ago Wow I realized today that I've been on FA for an entire year holy shit snacks.
I haven't done much in a year wise when it comes to art but for what i've done since I've joined I'm a little happy with I suppose. I still got lots of stuff I wanna upload or finish or do and maybe get a little job started working on doing art if I can. That would be nice.
Here's to another year on FA!
BTW! If anyone is attenting Anthrocon and wants to hang out at any point, Thursday I'm uploading photoset on here with me and my best friend + the suits we'll be wearing to the convention so feel free to message me on FA if you wanna meet up! I'll also be creating a Twitter account so people can find me on there cause with FA and ads i don't trust going on my phone much so I'll get that all linked up as well. Forgive me now for my dumbness with using Twitter cause never used it before yo.
I can still make badges for Anthrocon but I will probably be only able to do 2 and I can most certainly bring them with me when I come all laminated and stuff for $20 if you need a last minute badge. I MIGHT be able to squeeze in a 3rd if possible as well. They'll most likely be like my Shock Top Badge.

Sorry but that is a no go! We're both sharing our room with my mom and she doesn't want anyone else coming into the room with us. Sorry!

I'll still be underage at Anthrocon but I'll be doing a bit of drinking in my room so outside of there, please just buy me a water or a soda :3. My friend will be of legal age to drink and I don't think she'd turn down a free drink but that's up to her :3.

If you want to, go for it but you really don't have to ^^'.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Hugs are okay! Snuggles are a no go, sorry! Applies to all of us!

Not a clue! Wouldn't be shocked if we just live off food we bring though for the entire trip.

Please ask me first if you'd like to tag along with us. We do a special con dinner someplace each convention we go to so I wouldn't be shocked if we wanna eat with just the three of us. Just remember you gotta pay for your own food and fun cause we're all gonna be on a bit of a budget so we can't necessarily provide for extra people!

So I'm making this to say that I'll be going to Anthrocon 2015 from Friday to Sunday but we'll be staying till Monday x3. Going with my mom (she wants to see how conventions are and junk) and my best friend who is tagging along for the fun.

My new tablet comes tonight and I am SOOOO excited to get back to coloring and drawing digitally!
Ngl the first thing I'm drawing is a brand new Diago. I have a horrible need to draw Santa Diago and his little elf minions haha.
