Go to an artist I like's request stream, right? Like normally I comprehend that when there's a request stream going on, you put in a link to your OC and the artist chooses the ones they like and just draw whatever+some minor things the person includes in the message with the link in it right?

Well apparently this streamer did things differently from everyone else, and apparently I wasn't allowed to post a link in the chat log.

Oops, oh well, my bad, didn't really expect it, and literally never use Picarto for much of anything so blame it on my newbie situation.

Well, the artist decided to not see it that way. In voice they started calling me an idiot, that I should learn how to fucking read, that it isn't that hard to just read the rules(which was a massive block of text and the 'no links' was a tiny footnote in the middle of it), so I missed it. Still, he saw fit to pretty much humiliate, belittle, insult and embarrass me on the Stream, and for some reason he saw it absolutely unacceptable that I call someone who's an asshole, an asshole. A complete one, at that.
Naturally I didn't give the shitstain a chance to block me. I just left the stream and unwatched him, but pretty much 10/10 art, 0/10 attitude/maturity. You simply don't verbally assault someone who's new like that. We're people, we make mistakes, and everyone deserves a second chance. I fucked up, it's true, I didn't read the massive wall of text that takes up 1/3 of his screen that are his rules. Fine, my bad, I'd just like to have known how to give him the character I'd like drawn then, if links are not allowed. But instead he decided to be a dickbag about it and it cost him a watcher, possibly more, and definitely a blow to his reputation. People were definitely not agreeing with his attitude(not that they agreed with me calling him an asshole, but frankly, I felt I had every right to, given he was acting like one).

Anyway, since FA is uptight like a virgin's asshole about calling out people by name, even if they really fucking deserve it like in this case, I can't disclose the name directly for all to see. But hey, if you'd like to know an artist to thoroughly avoid, who definitely doesn't deserve your business given how much of a self-righteous cunt he is? Let me know in a note and I'll drop his name for ya.

The idea is quite simple...I want more pirate related content of my characters, but I don't want it alone...So I thought I'd make the choosing a bit more fun! :D

First, some ground rules:

1) You only qualify for the raffle if you answer every question in the quiz correctly. Somewhat correct still counts as correct!
2) You must be watching me.
3) You must be 18 years or older to apply.
4) You must own your own OC complete with reference images that give visuals of aforementioned OC from the front as well as the back, as well as any defining features/adornments.
5) You must qualify for yourself! No having someone else do it for you.
6) You may only qualify once.

Now for how this'll go down:

1) You answer every question in the quiz correctly, and send it, plus all other required info from the points below, to me in a note.

3) You include which of my characters you'd like the art with(I'll provide a list of references to choose from)

2018 is just around the corner and the holiday season is(has been?) upon us. As a result, many artists are closed for commissions, and plainly not worked/working very very little, which is obviously to be expected.

As a result, my gallery will be a little bit slow for the next couple of weeks.
But don't fret, there's stuff in the works and I'm planning on some new ideas later in the year into Feb. >w<

When an artist releases a Christmas themed YCH at their usual full price despite it obviously being late cause they were lazy before Christmas and didn't wanna do it during Christmas, so they do it afterwards.

This just seems shitty to me. Maybe people don't agree with me, but for example,
what store would still sell full-price Halloween costumes the day after Halloween? Exactly.

If they are gonna sell seasonal holiday ychs AFTER they happen, they should at least sell them at a discount, or make it not holiday related...why not make a Christmas ych into a new year ych if its after Christmas anyway?

Before you get your panties in a bunch, let me explain:

This is true. Patreon provides a solid foundation for artists to earn a decent amount of money, enabling them to continue their passion for drawing.
HOWEVER
The problem I've now come across repeatedly, are super skilled, unique, beyond talented artists, who've decided to give a mighty big middle finger to the fandoms art commissioners(such as myself), and focus all of their efforts entirely on sitting in their pajamas drawing generic smut of mainstream chars like Krystal Renamon or what have you, and then demand people pay to have them finish it. Or heck, they just draw whatever the fuck they want and simply expect people throw money at them like their life is a charity fund. Or the one that pisses me off the most: Commission slot lottery, where only patrons who pay a certain pledge amount or more every month, can have a 'lottery ticket' which they 'might' get a commission for. Hundreds of people pledging dozens of dollars to one person, who then gets paid upwards of 5k dollars a month for drawing 1 commission! It's disgustingly exploitive.

These types of artists are growing in number every single day. I go to artists I spoke to just weeks ago about a commission, and today they say they're permanently closed to focus entirely on Patreon. Maybe they don't see how much of a crushing insult that is to those of us who won't rely on blatant luck to get a commission, or to feed their personal urge to draw shallow fap material for people who get to decide through majority vote whether it's gonna be a horse or s wolf that fucks Krystal in her space ship today. I like 'my' characters. I want to see 'them' in the art I pay for, not the artists personal char or some mainstream one from a kids show.

Now I'm not saying that Patreon is purely bad. If it was taken in moderation, I wouldn't wish eternal death upon it lIke I do now while it's slowly but surely squeezing the life out of what the fandom is in large part built upon: Personal identity and unique, original character creation and nurturing.
If, say, an artist did 2 out 3 commissions a month, or every other month, and focused on patreon otherwise? Like some artists I know who do? See, that's fine by me! My issue stems from the fact that more and more artists are telling me, and people like me, to go fuck ourselves, entirely. Cutting us off permanently, and there isn't shit we can do about it, and it offends and upsets me, cause now I'll never experience seeing my character, or any other amazingly gorgeous OCs drawn by their skilled hands, and it's a crying fucking shame to me.

My mate IRL, TheLa(her artist name) wants to draw a large piece of art that she can print on a large poster(somewhere around 32x32 inch canvas)
Her question for all those poster printing savvy people out there, is this:

How big should the resolution that she draws with on Paintool SAI, be in, to get a clear, sharp image when printed on a large surface like 32x32?

It is extremely important that you read this if you are an artist! Even if you're a commissioner, I still highly recommend reading this to avoid issues for both parties!

It has come to my attention, and no doubt others' as well, that Paypal changed their Terms back on Oct 19th! I won't bore you with the whole message from Paypal, but suffice it to say, they are tightening their already strict rules related to invoices! It is now not only recommended, but PARAMOUNT that you use invoices when taking a commission!

Please, to avoid issues and potentially getting your Paypal account suspended, please, use invoices when commissioning art! Do not just click Goods & Services and go from there(as a commissioner), but let the artist send you an invoice!

In short, here are the easy steps to avoid getting yourself suspended(For artists):

1. Invoice for amount only! No taxes, no fees, nothing, just invoice for the amount you charged for the art!

2. Ask your commissioner for their PayPal email and put it into the prompted field.

3. Add a vague description of what you’re doing, something like “Character Coloured with Background” is good enough, and if you need more than 1 character you can type in “2″ where it says amount, or just say “2 characters”.

Warning: don’t type in anything even remotely related to explicit content. Something like 'Furry art' should not even be used. Keep it completely bare basic and vague.

4. Click send.

For commissioners:

5. Check your paypal.

6. Accept the invoice and hit pay(It'll add the required amount automatically).

7. Under address, go ahead and hit 'No Address Needed'. This'll update the invoice and assist in convincing Paypal that this is a 'digital' service, and that you do not expect anything mailed to you!

8. Pay, and you're good to go, no hassle, no angry Paypal breathing down your neck.

It was absolutely breathtaking! The light was so dim right before it was total that it literally made me disoriented!

When it was a total eclipse, the sky was crowned by a halo of pure light. It was like a massive sphere of polished onyx and set in a ring of liquid silver. For 2 minutes, it was a sunset in EVERY direction. A full 360 degree dusk. And as the sun returned from behind its lunar veil, the glimmer of life-giving light grew like a star entering the world, reborn again with an entire civilization of awestruck spectators, staring upon its splendor. For those 2 minutes, life ceased all noise and all bustle, to simply look up and revel in the amazing, awesome, miraculous, prime example of what it means to be truly alive. It came to me like a glimmer of light hidden behind a veil of darkness.
