Looking for skilled computer tech person. Upgrading my HDD!

My hard drive needs an upgrade, it's both too small, and too slow, for my needs.
But I've come across a dilemma.
First of all, everyone tells me 'just transfer one to the other directly!' but I can't since my old hard drive is formatted to MBR, and my new hard drive is formatted to GPT. Now, another solution I got was to convert my MBR drive, but that means another 3 hours of formatting, plus it would delete ALL of the very data I'm trying to save!
The other solution I got was to go the other way, I.E convert my GPT to MBR, even if that's less ideal considering MBR is more outdated than GPT. Well, MBR drives happen to have a vexing little limit on it that means a hard drive formatted as an MBR can only have a total size of 2TB, and no bigger. My new hard drive is 3TB ._. If I did that, my new hard drive would be exactly the same size as my old one. This is unacceptable.
Second of all, and this is my primary question:
Can I create a System Image of my old hard drive, and store it on my new hard drive, then create a clone of my Windows installation, boot from the thumb drive, and restore the system image on the same drive it's been saved on?

So, this person who wrote this came to me initially over a year ago. They pretty much hated me for no other reason than me roleplaying my character the way I do(as a bit of a pompous prince), and decided to think that since I RP as such, that means that's how I treat people I know as well! This is most certainly not the case, as anyone who knows me can confirm, and I say that in full confidence.
Well, they realized this eventually as well, and through them accepting an accord, we actually became friends for a time. However, this person's sorta psychotic tendencies were well known to me; I'd already been warned by mutual friends of ours that this person could get mindlessly angry for no particular reason. I'm not exactly a confrontational sort at all so I wasn't worried about it.
However, this person one day came to me yet again out of the blue and pretty much went on a tangent about how much of a selfish pompous self righteous cunt I am and that the world would be better off without me yadda yadda yadda sticks and stones etc. etc.
They got blocked and I havn't heard another thing from them....till one of my friends got +watched by them here on FA. They made the mistake of writing them about the +watch, and the ensuing shit storm caused by this psycho culminated in this little shit nugget of pure unadulterated assholery that, in my opinion, deserves a good old fashioned fist in the teeth:

Treating people like servants? Lying about my life? They speak as though they know me personally, which they certainly do not.
Really, this person is a shameless, manic asshole. I mean come on, my mom just died 3 days ago, and they have this little tact, this little shame? How incredibly pathetic can you get to sink so low in your attempt to hit me in the nuts that you stub my toe instead? I mean literally what the fuck?

She passed away 1 hour ago in her own bed, asleep. She had been fighting estrogenic cancer(I think thats the name in English anyway. It's a malignant tumor that grows on estrogen) for over a year and was in full remission. She'd won.
Then the medicine caused issues in her liver. She began retaining fluid in her abdomen. Last time she got drained it was over 3.2 L of fluid surrounding her intestines.
She was always weak, always tired.
Her situation worsened and she died of a blood clot in the liver.
I've never felt such profound pain before. I've never had anyone truly close to me die in my teenage/adult life. It's the most intense sensation. Like I'm fighting my own mind to not lose it.
Her name was Ruth, and she was one of the most forgiving individuals that has ever walked this Earth. I was raised by her, to always forgive, because life is too short to be angry or resentful all the time. She taught me that no matter what happens to you, forgiveness is you being the bigger person. That you can see beyond faults and short comings and selfish acts, and see the decency, honor, and goodness in people underneath their selfish exterior. This is how I've lived my life. I've forgiven every wrongdoer who has come my way.
She was jolly, she loved to laugh. Her passion was her grand child(my daughter), traveling, and sitting at home reading gossip magazines! X'D
Oh dear lord, mom, I miss you so much. :'c You have no idea, and you never will, but I'll personally ensure that for as long as this family remains, no one will ever forget you, or who you were. You single handedly kept this family together, and now it's my turn. I can barely write, as I can't see through the tears, but you'd tell me to keep crying, right mom? Cause crying is healthy, it's natural, and it is just the body healing itself by pushing the sadness out in the form of tears.
I'll never see the world the same way again. Someone who was the lynchpin in so many lives, has died, and when I look out the window, all I see is gray.

GG, life strikes again, for the 28th time -.-
I used to look forward to my birthdays, always have, but I've started to reach the age that, honestly, they're starting to become mildly depressing. Hopefully it's just an early, mild onset of a mid-life crisis, but it's actually really upsetting :c
I'm going to be 28, and I'll be a measly 2 years away from 30, and a mere 12 years away from fucking 40. Ugh, the thought seriously depresses me, I just want to curl up in a ball and wish for vampires to be real so I can live off of blood for the next 1100 years and never worry about death or disease once for the entire duration. Obviously I'm not that melodramatic and cringey, I prefer not to sparkle, thanks.
But yeah, birthday coming up soon. Yay me. *Half-assed cheer*

Razer Tiamat 7.1 Surround headset review
Posted 8 years agoMany gamers have heard the brand, Razer, which is credited to creating very aesthetically pleasing gaming accessories such as headsets, mice, mouse pads, keyboards etc.
And indeed, they create some very pretty looking stuff.
However, this is not about the company, it's about one of their products, namely, the Razer Tiamat 7.1 surround headset.
First and foremost, for those of you who look for a short read instead of a long, descriptive one:
Worth buying or not?
110% NO! DO NOT BUY THIS HEADSET, EVER!!!!
For those of you who don't mind the why and how, here it is:
First of all, the design is deplorable. Not only is it ugly, it's also non-functional, and downright uncomfortable.
Firstly, there's the deal with the headband, observe this image: http://imgur.com/a/PSAII (highlighted in red). This band looks like the box shaped pads should be soft and squishy to support your head, right?
WRONG!!!
These 'pads', are nothing more than cheap, thin plastic made to look like pads. There's no give to them, they just sit there and dig into your scalp, giving the wearer a massive headache. It's so bad, I had to use a spare glove that has a hole in it to put ONTOP of my head BETWEEN it and my head to avoid those death stabbers of doom from sinking into my scalp. It's like a torture tool that PUNISHES you for wanting sound in your video games!
Speaking of sound, it's just as bad, let me explain:
7.1 surround means that instead of the standard 5.1 surround(5 sources, front(1), side(2), back(1), subwoofer(1) (=5. The .1 means that it's in ONE unit, I.E the headset itself), there are SEVEN speakers in one unit; diagonal front(2), side(2), diagonal back(2), back(1), and a built in bass, no subwoofer needed. Which is intended to increase immersion and give you a sense of being able to hear things behind you.
Of course, this would be great, if it worked for shit. Not only does the headset just have piss-poor sound with easily audible static in the background non-stop that gets maddening after a while, it's key feature, the 7.1 surround, doesn't function properly, and has incompatibility issues out the wazoo. For one, the front, and back speakers work fine, but the diagonal back speakers are INCREDIBLY low. For example, if I am walking in Skyrim with a companion behind me? If they begin to talk, I have to TURN AROUND 180 degrees and FACE them in order to actual hear what they say, otherwise, it sounds like they're 200 feet behind me and expecting me to hear them while they speak at a normal volume, all while ambient sounds are SUPER LOUD. No matter what I did, there was no fix to this, I checked everywhere, even asked Razer themselves(Who just gave me the average automated 'sorry for the inconvenience, you can replace it if your warranty's still valid, otherwise, go fuck yourself, we got your money now, HA HA HA').

See that huge brick attached to the cord, highlighted in red? Yeah, that thing is as long(correction, just checked, AN INCH LONGER) than my middle finger(which I raise in a hearty fuck you gesture to Razer for this atrocious product btw). It is HUGE, bulky, and awkward. It pretty much FORCES you to have it sitting on the table, cause it's so heavy that if it just hangs from your cord, it'll literally tug down on the right side of your headset, making it sit lopsided. This means the total length of cord available is CUT INTO A QUARTER(The whole cord is 9 feet long!!! This bulky ass brick that does nothing but change volume and mute your mic/speakers, will cut those 9 feet into 3 feet, since all the length BEHIND it is locked to the table, lest you want to have a weight hanging from your head)
Next up, we have the horrible quality, refer to these pics:
http://imgur.com/a/0vFQa . The Microphone is able to be completely retracted into the attached speaker, which is honestly pointless cause it's not in the way anyway. It is cheap plastic that gets looser and looser as you use it. After less than 5 months of average, common use, the stick made a light snapping noise, my mic suddenly stopped working, and just dangled loosely from its socket. My mic had officially died.
http://imgur.com/a/6MMFm . The ear muff pads, designed to let the headset rest AROUND your ear rather than directly on it like conventional earphones. These pads turn out to be cheaply glued onto the frame of the speaker, which failed and fell off completely after only 8 months of use. After 11 months, both pads have fallen off entirely(glue doesn't keep them on). I now have to put the headset on first, and then put each pad in place manually, lest I want my ears to cramp(didn't know my ears could cramp, BUT THEY CAN FROM THESE SHITTY HEADPHONES)
http://imgur.com/a/X46rM . The frame that runs across my head, ontop of that scalp destroyer of a *Cough*COMFORT*cough band, has snapped in two places(locations highlighted in red). The first snap happened when I simply removed the headset from my head after finishing a game. I heard a CRACK noise, and noticed that the plastic had snapped clean in half. Less than a week later, the second crack happened, this time while putting them on.
And to add insult to injury, this headset is INCREDIBLY COMPLICATED to attach to your computer.
It comes with 1 USB plug
AND FIVE(5) STEREO SOCKET PLUGS!!! ONE OF EACH COLOR!

Except in my case, the socket colors don't match the ones given on the jacks on the headset cords, meaning I have no fucking idea exactly which plug goes where. I had to trial and error that shit for literally 15 minutes of plugging and unplugging all five plugs in random combinations until I got SOME level of sound. I've since tried 11 times to resocket them in all manners of different ways, pretty much every combination of 5 colors with 5 plugs that you can possibly do, and NONE of them work, except the ONE combination I found by sheer chance.
And lastly, a stupid ass, completely unnecessary bogus 'look how cool they are' attempt from Razer:

Yet Razer decided "Hey, wouldn't it be kewl @$$ al hel if we put four small magnets into each speaker on the outside, so that the wearer can decide whether to attach or detach these matte, thin, cheapass plastic covers that just end up being a nuisance when they fall off when you go to pick up the headset!? THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GR8 IDEA RIGHT GUYS!?"
And now, for the grand finale that you've all been waiting for....Drum roll please.....
The price of this grotesque, grossly poor quality, sorry ass excuse for a 'gaming' accessory that is built by a company with the slogan 'by gamers, for gamers'....
NOW, IT'S ABOUT THE COMPANY!!!
TWO HUNDRED(200) MOTHER-FUCKING DOLLARS($)
Do not buy this headset. Don't even look at it, don't even LOOK at the company, don't even go to their website don't even consider it! This company is a huge fucking scam that takes your money in HUGE quantities and gives you cheap-ass, poorly designed, poorly manufactured, shit tier quality products that fall apart at the seams within a year, WELL before the 'warranty' runs out, yet their high quality customer service reps(which are outsourced to india), are paid to sit and make up excuses as to why you cannot get a replacement. Here was their excuse to me: "Did you touch the microphone when it broke? In that case it is your own fault and your warranty has been invalidated, I'm sorry for the inconvenience, sir."

After less than 5 months of average, common use, the stick made a light snapping noise, my mic suddenly stopped working, and just dangled loosely from its socket. My mic had officially died.

These pads turn out to be cheaply glued onto the frame of the speaker, which failed and fell off completely after only 8 months of use. After 11 months, both pads have fallen off entirely(glue doesn't keep them on). I now have to put the headset on first, and then put each pad in place manually, lest I want my ears to cramp(didn't know my ears could cramp, BUT THEY CAN FROM THESE SHITTY HEADPHONES)

The first snap happened when I simply removed the headset from my head after finishing a game. I heard a CRACK noise, and noticed that the plastic had snapped clean in half. Less than a week later, the second crack happened, this time while putting them on.
And to add insult to injury, this headset is INCREDIBLY COMPLICATED to attach to your computer.
It comes with 1 USB plug
AND FIVE(5) STEREO SOCKET PLUGS!!! ONE OF EACH COLOR!

Except in my case, the socket colors don't match the ones given on the jacks on the headset cords, meaning I have no fucking idea exactly which plug goes where. I had to trial and error that shit for literally 15 minutes of plugging and unplugging all five plugs in random combinations until I got SOME level of sound. I've since tried 11 times to resocket them in all manners of different ways, pretty much every combination of 5 colors with 5 plugs that you can possibly do, and NONE of them work, except the ONE combination I found by sheer chance.
And lastly, a stupid ass, completely unnecessary bogus 'look how cool they are' attempt from Razer:

Here was their excuse to me: "Did you touch the microphone when it broke? In that case it is your own fault and your warranty has been invalidated, I'm sorry for the inconvenience, sir."

Posted 8 years agoSo I have many friends here on FA that I've developed friendly relationships with over the years, and I've come to discover that many of them have some devastating misconceptions about Furaffinity.
A person I know, whom I can only assume had outstanding, pre-paid commissions with this artist, wrote a journal asking people if they knew what happened to an artist, who has subsequently, voluntarily deactivated their account with no rhyme or reason prior to this incident. My acquaintance seems to be under the impression that 'maybe something happened', and seemingly cannot even begin to consider the far more likely, but far more sinister, reason behind this unannounced, random departure.
What I think, is that perhaps they took on more work than they could/wanted to handle, spent the money before they finished most of it, became unable to refund the money, and thus decided to simply uproot and bolt from their responsibilities.
The biggest misconception behind FA is that if they're an artist, they must be a responsible, thoughtful adult who has the best intentions towards their commissioners, without fail. This is not the case. FA is centered almost entirely on an honor system, the idea that if you pay, you get what you pay for, because the artist WANTS to hold up their end of the bargain.
Not all artists feel this way, and are not monitored for quality- or morality control. There's no one on FA's staff sitting and regulating whether or not unscrupulous artists are permitted to conduct their business here or not. For this reason, many many artists come, take on more work than they think they can handle, either intentionally(To scam people) or unintentionally(Due to lack of experience. Most artists on FA are self-taught and/or upstarting freelancers with no official, professional work experience), and then leave, completely neglecting the responsibilities they've kicked up during their stay.
So please, to all of you out there who regularly commission artwork. Please be careful, as it only takes one untrustworthy scumbag who fancies themselves an artist, to cost you double digit, even triple digit sums, with nothing to show for it. Never think that an artist found on FA is pretty much universally good and trustworthy. Please don't alienate the possibility that they are not to be trusted, and that they should be nowhere NEAR your money, let alone receive it.
Always remember: Just because the artist has a lot of pageviews/watchers, and just because they seem like a nice and well-established presence in the community, does not mean they're entirely incapable of truly fucking you over. Always remember that.
Of course, this doesn't concern most artists that I know of. I'm thankfully blessed(in an entirely non-religious sense) to be acquainted with only trustworthy, upstanding, selfless artists who are not only here for the money, but also because they legitimately enjoy the community, and the simple act of creating art that people will cherish, possibly for the rest of their lives.
To those of you artists out there, who are completely and entirely trustworthy, which I know the vast, overwhelming majority of you are, this is NOT directed at you, let me make that clear. Posted 8 years agoHonestly I've feared it for a long while, I just havnt written about it yet because....well...I didn't want to come to terms with it I guess?
Still, my mother has cancer...and it cannot be extracted, it's too wide spread.
There is ONE silver lining though....
The cancer is a slow-developing, Estrogen dependant, malignant tumor variety. This means it grows exclusively when exposed to estrogen hormones, and when it does grow, it does so very very slowly.
She's been given estrogen suppressants by her doctor, and if everything works out peachy, she'll live the rest of her life with a cancer that isn't capable of growing. You starve it, pretty much.
If, however, the pills don't work, then I don't know what to do, cause she's in a lot of pain...
So....yeah I'm pretty shaken up. Probably just gonna relax till this afternoon with tv/books and try not to think about it. Nothing more can be done till her first post-diagnosis screening 3 weeks from now to see if the medication has the desired effect....

Artists who ONLY post submissions, that's a notification of them streaming, while neglecting their commissioners and the art they paid for to go fuck around in streams with friends and post memes for HOURS on end.
Seriously, people, why do you do this?
I can understand once a week or something, and journal reminders from there on out, with drizzles of finished work in between, but those of you I watch who've gone for MONTHS without a finished pic submitted, yet have not failed to post your 'btw I'm streaming plz notice me! *heart emoji* '? Fucking shame on you! Seriously!
Like, what the bloody fuck have you been doing during ALL the time you didn't stream? You never finish ANYTHING, but you post stream notes out the ass and log COUNTLESS hours in it....WHERE'S THE RESULT!? Where's the art you allegedly worked on in the stream for the past week and a half!?
Some artists pretty much ignore commissions for the sake of things like professional contract work and patreon crazy ass numbers that are honestly ridiculous(props to those artists who earn 20k+ a month drawing furry shit through patreon . Yes, they exist), and you know what? THAT'S FINE! Go where the money is I say!
But those who ignore commissioners and what they've already paid for, simply to stream all fucking day and sit there scribbling away while talking about memes? Seriously, fucking stop it. It's blatantly obvious you do it ONLY to get popular, and you're pretty much shitting ALL over the commissioners who've paid you, by ignoring your responsibilities and instead focusing on 20 - 50 people who are okay with watching you edit a sketch you have no intention of finishing in the foreseeable future, for as long as 4 fucking hours!!
Seriously, fucking stop being like teenagers on their phones during a vital semester class and then blame us for not understanding your 'creative process'. You wanna pull the 'you're not very professional!' Card on us? Then fucking act like an adult and do the work you got paid to do in the timeliest fashion you can muster instead of streaming for shit's and giggles on your commissioners' payroll!

Posted 8 years agoSo I've come across a multitude of people who refuse to get art with anyone but their mate. What the fuck, why? O.o I seriously don't understand the concept behind this limitation. First of all, artwork is just artwork. There is no special magical aspect to a relationship by refusing to have it done with others. In fact, to me? It's a sign of an underlying unstable relationship, one that hints of lack of trust in eachother, as in a fear that them getting art with someone else somehow counts as cheating on them?
It really has nothing to do with it. Regardless of what your personal opinion on this is, art is just art, nothing special and not a window to someone's true feelings. It's a digital image meant to either show off or give people bones for the fun of it. I simply don't believe any if the other hocus pocus reasons for getting art, like they are 'extensions of yourself'. Give me a break. The characters? Maybe. The art itself? No.
Saying porn art with someone else is no better than sleeping with them in RL is seriously the ramblings of a basement dwelling virgin with an apparent lack of not only a life, but an understanding of what an ACTUAL REAL relationship is. I mean it's like saying an actor who's married can't kiss a girl their role is in love with because they'd be cheating on their spouse. It's a fucking idiotic idea, one that, to me, shows nothing but mistrust and fear between them, that they 'might like them more than me'.
Listen, I've been married for 8 years. Our daughter is 7(she just had her birthday). My wife doesn't only know about the porn art I've gotten with a Massive number of other people. She has helped me with it, as deeply as even fixing some anatomy for an artist I commissioned (with their permission obviously). She doesn't give a fuck cause she knows I live and breathe for my daughter and her, and I always have/will. The very concept of me not being allowed to get art with others, made her laugh, legitimately. Because it has NO meaning beyond boner bait or to show off my character. It holds NO emotional value beyond my adoration for my own character. If you're one of those people who refuse to let your mate get art just cause it makes you feel nervous? Get the fuck over it. A relationship meant to last would never be jeopardized by something so Trivial as furry porn.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about: I'm talking digimon reskins, pokemon reskins, My Little Pony reskins, Sonic the Hedgehog reskins etc. etc....Pretty much if the character is an obvious rip from a popular TV show / Popular game? Then I really don't like them.
That goes for ownership...Personally I'd probably make an exception for getting art of the ORIGINAL Renamon/Star Fox with my own character featured within it, as in no recolor crap! :\
So...OWNING a completely basic pokemon/digimon/whatever, but with different colors? Bad. I can't stand it.
GETTING ART of the actual, original pokemon/digimon/whatever, with the correct, intended colors. I could do that if done right!
That's my opinion, and people are obviously welcome to disagree if they want, assuming they can stay within the realm of realism and not fly off into some non-existant fairytale land where their bogus claims might hold some merit.
Here's a good example of such a person:
This person contacted me a few months ago, wanting to get art with my Vaxi as a female, and his recolored, huge Meowth(Pokemon) clone character. I told him plainly that unless it's the actual pokemon, I.E no recolors and no random body changes to edit it to your liking, then I'm not interested. He got ridiculously angry and offended, asking how I dare to hurt peoples feelings just because they have a character I don't like etc.
We argued back and forth, before I lost interest and blocked him. I then found this on my F-list, which took his complete idiocy to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL:
"Every single character that is made is corporately owned one way or another. Nothing is original. No matter how original you think something is, the fact remains that there is some series out there that has characters either similar or akin to their likeness. There is no getting around this. So, I apologize if you simply do not understand it from my point of view and how just rejecting people for not fully understanding a situation really isn't nice."
OH REALLY!? IS THAT SO!?
This damned fool literally just said that EVERYBODY'S FURSONA...YOUR fursona, THEIR fursona, MY fursona, EVERYBODY'S FURSONA ON THE PLANET, is somehow, no matter what, directly associated with some kind of TV show or game in the world, and therefore, the ENTIRE FURRY FANDOM is, according to this retard, owned by corporations.
I'm about to rip my hair out of my scalp. Why am I still bothering with complete numbskulls like this? WE make up the fandom, be it artists who create them, commissioners who commission them, or fursuiters who enact them and make them real? To me? If some teenage kid sexually identifies as a lime green renamon with gold eyes and has a complete addiction to Kabuterimon dick? FINE, you know what? FINE, I don't care, be that way if it makes you happy...BUT you're not a furry because of it, and don't you fucking dare claim to be one, either! At least not in my book.
For those who don't know what I'm talking about: I'm talking digimon reskins, pokemon reskins, My Little Pony reskins, Sonic the Hedgehog reskins etc. etc....Pretty much if the character is an obvious rip from a popular TV show / Popular game? Then I really don't like them.
That goes for ownership...Personally I'd probably make an exception for getting art of the ORIGINAL Renamon/Star Fox with my own character featured within it, as in no recolor crap! :\
So...OWNING a completely basic pokemon/digimon/whatever, but with different colors? Bad. I can't stand it.
GETTING ART of the actual, original pokemon/digimon/whatever, with the correct, intended colors. I could do that if done right!
That's my opinion, and people are obviously welcome to disagree if they want, assuming they can stay within the realm of realism and not fly off into some non-existant fairytale land where their bogus claims might hold some merit.
Here's a good example of such a person:
This person contacted me a few months ago, wanting to get art with my Vaxi as a female, and his recolored, huge Meowth(Pokemon) clone character. I told him plainly that unless it's the actual pokemon, I.E no recolors and no random body changes to edit it to your liking, then I'm not interested. He got ridiculously angry and offended, asking how I dare to hurt peoples feelings just because they have a character I don't like etc.
We argued back and forth, before I lost interest and blocked him. I then found this on my F-list, which took his complete idiocy to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL:
"Every single character that is made is corporately owned one way or another. Nothing is original. No matter how original you think something is, the fact remains that there is some series out there that has characters either similar or akin to their likeness. There is no getting around this. So, I apologize if you simply do not understand it from my point of view and how just rejecting people for not fully understanding a situation really isn't nice."

This damned fool literally just said that EVERYBODY'S FURSONA...YOUR fursona, THEIR fursona, MY fursona, EVERYBODY'S FURSONA ON THE PLANET, is somehow, no matter what, directly associated with some kind of TV show or game in the world, and therefore, the ENTIRE FURRY FANDOM is, according to this retard, owned by corporations.
I'm about to rip my hair out of my scalp. Why am I still bothering with complete numbskulls like this? What benefit do I, or the world, get from me sitting here, fuming with frustration at trying to make someone comprehend something, only for them to say 'FUCK REALITY I NEED TO BE RIGHT THEREFORE THIS IS FACT!'?
Let me be fucking clear: PROPER fursonas, as in fursonas MADE from SCRATCH by the owner, or BOUGHT from a creator who themselves created it from scratch? ANY fursona, that was not just some random sonic the hedgehog pic you found on google and recolored using MS Paint? THOSE fursonas, make up the fandom. WE make up the fandom, be it artists who create them, commissioners who commission them, or fursuiters who enact them and make them real?
