There was way more interest in commissions with my past opening. I didn't expect that based on the volume the last few times I've taken a slot or two on. Despite offering the same price and style. Maybe its the specific wojak priscilla i drew on the ad. Maybe it's the economy. Or just a quirky coincidence. When it rains it storms as they say. Thats definitely what that idiom means lol.

Anyways, I stand by only taking payment for one slot and only commiting to one piece at a time. But i do find the heightened interest in my work invigorating. I appreciate the want and support from those watching me very much.

I have taken note of everyone interested in a private list on my end. While i still cannot promise I will take on more pieces immediately or that I will get to every person interested I have a desire to keep track this time around. It is not a real or official waitlist and again I make no promises. But I want you all to know i see and appreciate your ideas and support of my work. My obsession with sewing has persisted. Making plushes is my new passion.

I hope you all are enjoying seeing what i sew. It fills a much different void than my typical 2D illustration artwork. Which has taken a backseat during my sewing time. There will be many more projects to see as i finish them.

I like sharing it despite the shift from my previous focus. Having my body of work shared in the same place, from drawing to sculpture and fiber craft, is very satisfying for me.

My phases of interest in my different hobbies will wax and wane on their own schedule. Im not not drawing for any unpleasant reason. Im just too invested in using my free time for sewing.

This post is just a ramble about my presence hehe. I know i dont owe a constant feed of artwork or interaction to anyone, but expressing that I am neither dead or suffering felt correct.

I will only be taking one one piece, as I do not want to overwhelm myself or have any lingering commitments to a queue. I don't have any other projects as of now so it shouldn't take too long to complete, but I cannot give a guarantee on when it will be done. A week to a month rough estimate.

It will not be first come first serve. I will choose based on the characters/concept I am most interested in doing right now.

First a tldr:
I won't be accepting commissions in the forseeable future

Now the fluff:
I have some changes in my life that will have me busier more often. Theyre good changes, but i don't see it as responsible to attempt to continue to manage commissions in addition to my other responsibilities. Ive never had much free time to begin with.

I am sorry to those who have wanted them and asked about getting one. But i simply cannot at this point in my life. Leaving what time i have for personal drawing or whatever is what I must do.

I dont see myself never ever doing commissions again. I do enjoy it. Although ill never do it the way I used to (queues, taking many projects and working on them for 6 to 18 months). If i ever feel the desire to ill likely just take on a single project at once of a type/style i feel comfortable in the moment with. I might try occasional YCH again. I have an idea or two kicking around in my head for those.

Overall ive been doing pretty well lately. And I've been enjoying drawing so im excited to completely focus on personal work for a while. I have a goal to table at a con and sell prints and stickers and pendants. So thats a fun new thing to work on.

Happy new year everyone! I hope all of you had a wonderful December.

I'm not big on hippy-dippy goals on new year, but I have some general ones I'd be striving towards regardless of it being a new year or not. I have a premonition that 2023 will be a good year.

2022 was a hard year for me. I felt disconnected from my art. Various anxiety presented in my life in new and exciting ways. That peaked very strongly this fall. While it was a challenge to deal with in the moment it did lead me into taking some big, serious steps in managing said anxiety. I've learned a whole lot. As of now, my confidence in feeling happy, in-control and at ease is great. In a way that I'm honestly not used to at all.

I have been really busy all December, but when I have sat down to draw I have been genuinely enjoying it. Something that evaded me essentially all of 2022. I had a soft goal of finishing off commissions before the new year. Which(obviously) isn't going to happen, but within the first few months of 2023 is very feasible. I think I've mentioned this already, but I do not intend on accepting commissions again afterward. Not in a foreseeable period of time. And in the farther future keeping it small and/or private(as in no public advertising or queues. Just negotiated individually). Or not at all. Depends on what my lifestyle can support in the unknown time ahead.

Other 2023 things Im going to do:
•Travel(more alone than I've travelled before)
•Maybe do some art trades when I'm done commissions(this involves chatting with artists I like haha)
•Keep up my extremely moderate, gentle home work outs(original, I know)
•Mystery??

But yeah I think that's all. Nothing particularly novel or important. I wish you all the best <3

Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well and excited for fall.

I just wanted to post an update about how I have been and where I am at with commission work, since it is approaching a year since I took on my current batch of commissions. As I've probably said before I had a long period of time this year feeling very bleh about drawing. Perhaps just generally depressed for a while, but I'm not sure. It really interrupted my work on commissions for essentially all of 2022 with only brief periods of inspiration. Ive actually felt a lot better recently. The pieces I have come to in my queue are the more complex/rendered ones so despite being able to draw again it has still been slow to finish pieces.

In the past, my rhythm has been pretty yearly for commission opening, taking, finishing and reopening. This year has been a little harder for me. And for that I apologize. I'm trying to get back on track with working efficiently. And visualizing the remainder of the year as a chunk of time to set goals for myself as far as making progress and finishing things is concerned.

One other road block is that the busy season has started at work. I've been doing semi frequent overtime. Which is something I have to work around. This is part of my challenge in scheduling myself. Considering it a challenge as opposed to an obstacle might be helpful to me I will figure that out.

Another thing I have been thinking about for the future: I don't think my current lifestyle allows me enough time to be a mass commission artist anymore. I've tried to make it work at this scale for a couple years, but I don't think it is smart for me to take on many projects at once. I acknowledge this is how it is and I will need to make changes to how I do commissions in the future. I've been brainstorming ideas. Because I do really enjoy the communication and piece-building aspects of commission work. And don't want to stop completely. However My art taking longer as my style changes and my free time being less as I age is a truth that I can't ignore(and occasionally volatile mental health that I can't predict when taking a queue). My solutions for this are taking only single projects on at once. In a style of rendering I feel like doing in the moment. I'll have to reject far more projects that way, which is why I haven't tried doing only single or minimal slots in the past. Because I don't want to reject projects. Working with in my limits is more important though and I will be using more restraint in the future. This isn't applicable now or anything. My current mission for the remainder of 2022 is finish off all remaining projects. Which I will do piece by piece until it's all done. Then do whatever I want in the moment after that(an adventure for the future). Setting a soft deadline for the end of 2022 on myself is a helpful strategy I think. Instead of complete chaos and no mental scope for time. I will stop rambling now.

Anyways, many thanks for looking at my art and stuff. I haven't had much energy for interaction either, but I always read all of your comments and things and appreciate them very much. Many thoughtful wonderful people you lot are.

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all doing well. I have been fine, but having some issues coming out of my winter hibernation. My motivation to draw has been very poor, but I am trying my best to balance my free time and work the habit back in to my life. This has resulted in commission progress slowing down a bit for which I apologize. And while I always state in my commission information that I accept them on the condition of no deadlines and potentially long wait times I still occasionally get some self-imposed feelings of bad/guilty/overwhelmed/etc for having long waits. Ironically when I get those feelings it makes it harder for me to make progress on pieces, which is the thing that would remedy those feelings if achieved.

While there aren't any objective issues I am having, I wanted to publicly express this. I don't want any commissioners to feel in the dark or anything. And hopefully expressing this will help me get back on the horse and re-centre myself. All of you have been very wonderful and understanding. I so deeply appreciate the generosity and patience of those I have had the pleasure of interacting with. I am always open to being contacted with questions about commissions in progress. Worst case scenario I either have not started or have not made any progress since any previous updates.

Working out a better system for accepting projects in the future as to not get overwhelmed might be a goal. I've had the same system of accepting a big batch and taking many months to finish them for years now. It's not bad, but it has its flaws. That's something for me to think about for the far future. That worked well when I had less reach and fewer people interested, but now I get far more interest to keep up as quickly that way.

And while I have been drawing and progressing, it has just been very slow and my headspace has not been as positive as I would like while working. In my recent attempts to have drawing sessions I haven't been "warming up" with a sketch or anything. Ive just tried to jump right into working on a commission. That could be part of why I've been having some trouble. So that's something I'll likely try doing again and probably sharing those warm ups with you all as well. Rough sketches do help get me going and give me an outlet to draw my personal ideas without taking too long to finish.

Hello everyone! I am just here to say that my computer and programs are functioning well again! So good news. I will be back to regular drawing very soon. I am now in the process of getting back on the horse sheep productivity-wise after my non-consensual break from drawing.

The holiday season may be personally busy for me however, so progress may still be slow due to other things I have to prioritize. The new year should return to completely normal schedule, but I can at least make my chip-away progress now that my tech is working!

Unrelated, but it is also my birthday. I am ever so slightly older than I was yesterday.

Hello Everyone!

This journal is just to update you all on my plans for the next few months. I'll put big titles if you're only interested in one component of my updates. I also like to take these opportunities to thank all of you for enjoying my art, interacting and commissioning me. It is all graciously appreciated.

COMMISSIONS

I just finished my queue and I am making the decision to not open for new illustration commissions immediately. I love doing commissions for you guys, but commission work is much more mentally demanding than making random personal doodles. I require a break without needing to focus so much of my free time on them. At least for a brief period! I will re-open eventually when I feel inspired to do so. I also don't want to over work myself so I can enjoy them more when I take them on again.

There will be a price increase when I re-open. I would like to have smaller queues and need to close less frequently. If you remember my previous prices and were interested in a commission, I won't be offended if you're not interested at the higher price(I haven't decided on specifics yet. Those will be available when I'm open). Or if any of you simply aren't interested anymore for any other reason that's A-Okay too!

I appreciate the patience of all of you waiting for me to re-open. Seeing so much interest in my art is really flattering and motivating. The idea that people even want to pay me for artwork is really cool ;w;

I am going to be doing a twitter raffle for a free 2-character sketch! And doing loose sketches is pretty relaxing whether it's my or someone else's characters.

It's not for any specific reason other than I want to. And I'm curious how much reach It will get :p I just need to finalize the ad for it. I will probably have it up this weekend. Possibly today? I will make a new journal linking it for anyone interested.


SCULPTURE COMMISSIONS

I just need to finalize my prices and TOS. I love sculpting and it's something different I want to try. I still need SOME sort of creative outlet when stepping away from more intensive commission drawings. It's going to be a pilot project and I'm only going to accept one customer at first. If I hate doing it I obviously won't do it again, but I doubt that will happen. Expect there to be some kinks to work out as I'm not used to selling physical products. I just want to do my best and make something nice for someone.

When it comes to sculpting I enjoy the process more than having a resulting product, so doing them on commission seems natural? The current sculptures I have posted in my gallery do not indicate the quality I want to achieve on commission. I put very little pre-thought into personal ones. I want to do a much better and thoughtful job sculpting for other people.

So keep an eye out for a journal indicating Im ready to accept. I will keep a waiting list if more than one person is interested. I'm not really sure what to expect yet or if there will be any interest at all. It's all new and I'll be very grateful to anyone willing to be my first guinea pig >:3


ETC.

I will be having a new computer built over the next few months. I've had my current one since I was a teenager and it's struggling to keep up with what I require from it sometimes. It still functions and is fine for low-pressure personal stuff, but it's really frustrating to work with when I want a nice big file. Building my new computer also plays a big part in my delayed re opening of commissions. It's a priority before I accept them again so I can deliver quality work.

I'm also going to dedicate the next few months to focusing on my physical and mental health more. I'm trying to start exercise again and start cooking better. Doing different relaxing activities is also something I intend on doing. My schedule has been very samey for a while(work all week, draw all weekend, sleep, repeat)so incorporating other things is probably a good idea to keep me from going—uh—bonkers.

I have had a bit of a resurgence of interest in polymer clay sculpture. It was something I enjoyed a lot as a kid, but fell out of love with after a couple failed projects over the years.

I think it would be a lot of fun to try sculpture commissions in a few months! It would make me very happy to bring the joy of 3 Dimensional art to you all! And get a chance to sculpt other people's characters and ideas. I haven't looked very hard, but I feel like I don't see very many people offering custom fursona/character sculpture on commission either? At least nothing quantifiably comparable to digital art or plushies.

I want to practice my techniques on a few more personal pieces before I would consider selling custom sculptures. As well as COMPLETELY finish what illustration commissions I have so I can dedicatedly focus on it when the time comes. So these are more of preemptive thoughts for the future.

But anyway... It's kind of late so my thoughts are pretty disorganized. I have just been thinking about this a lot and wanted to bring it up. Do you guys have any opinions about this? Any interest in sculpture? Or(just as watchers) is sculpture something enjoyable for you to see in my gallery? It will never replace illustration for me, just another thing to do
