Probably going to close temporarily commissions soon
General | Posted 5 years agoHowdy all
Not a super important announcement. I'm kind of informal with this stuff anyway. Just journaling to say that I'll probably stop accepting brand new commissions so I can finish what is in my queue for now without new distractions. There are a couple people who have established interest in a commission with me already or have multi-part commission type things who can just ignore this announcement for those established, but not finalized pieces. I'll also accept a couple tricklers in the next little bit to beef up the queue before I stop accepting. I dont have an established date for my temporary closing I just go with what feels right. So soonish
Also please forgive my jumbled dictation and sentence structure. I only slept 6 hours last night. This probably makes sense and that's good enough for me.
I'll almost most definitely re open when I finish what I have on my plate already. Business as usual, babieeee

I'm moving, commissions and some updates about things
General | Posted 5 years agoHi Everyone
I am going to be moving to a new apartment for August. This is going to be my first apartment that I am leasing personally. Yay me I totally love being an adult and moving isn't stressful at all.
I am quite excited though and I'll be looking forward to getting myself set up and everything. I might be kind of dark online in the next few weeks, but it's for the greater good of new horizons and independence. I've also felt kind of in a rut lately and sometimes a new space can fix that sort of thing.
I'll also likely be delaying re-opening commissions until my internet is set up and I'm settled. I have taken note of everyone who has expressed interest though, and don't worry I will contact y'all when I'm ready. As for the last couple of things in my queue, they may get finished up before my move, or maybe after it really depends on how busy I am. Either are possible.
Anyways... I hope you're all doing good or at least as good as can be.

500 Watchers??? + Considering trying streaming
General | Posted 5 years agoHowdy all! I just hit exactly 500 watchers just on FA alone! Even though I don't consider numbers important, its crazy that in only a couple years 500 people have been like: "Yup. I want to know when this stranger on the Internet does something creative!"
So far I've only really had positive experiences sharing my art and talking to folks online. It's definitely a creative outlet that I don't get in real life currently and I'm very appreciative of that! It's great to be able to explore all the weird stuff I want to draw and have an audience to share it with who actually wants to see it.
Streaming is something i've always been fascinated by. After looking into it, it doesn't seem that technically difficult to do, at least if it's kept simple and basic. If you've watched me for a long time you probably remember how I would occasionally post an ad for random character request sketches. They were never very good, but still fun to do and it always brought a lot of new people looking at my art. Request streaming seems like a much better and more interactive way to do that kind of thing. Having a more interpersonal way with actual chat to interact with you guys is a big part of why i'd want to do it as well.
Right now my biggest barriers are free time and just breaking the ice and trying something new for the first time. I only have limited time on the weekend to do my personal chores, work on commissions, relax, etc. And if I do try streaming I'd want it to be at least semi-regular. Figuring out a real schedule so it's not completely spontaneous seems important. I'd probably try it out randomly for the first few just to see if I like it of course, but long term I want to be semi-organized. If/when I do try streaming, I will be using Twitch as the platform. The superiors at work have been tossing around the idea of a four day work week, which would be literally amazing. Nothing solid about that yet, but if it is something that happens, maintaining my online presence could be a lot easier!
If you guys have any feedback or input or opinions about me trying streaming feel free to comment about it.
Thanks a bunch and everyone stay safe out there 🐑

UPDATE ON MY CURRENT SCHEDULE
General | Posted 6 years agoHello everyone! I hope you're all doing well.A brief, summarizing TL;DR:
I got a new job, I'm tired, I'm adjusting to a new schedule and I don't have much time or energy to draw right nowI've had a few recent and sudden changes in my life that are impacting my ability to draw regularly and focus in my off time. Most notably I've acquired a bit of a full-time job. I'm currently working a traditional 9 - 5 for training and orientation purposes, which could go on for a week or two. 9 - 5 kills me in the evening so I'm rarely able to draw during the week. My shifts will be changing in a few weeks, allowing a bit more drawing time during the week. So I'm really just off schedule and getting used to this change right now. I'll also be getting 90% dental coverage. I've never had insurance before and this is very exciting. I'm going to go to the dentist for the first time in like 5 years!
But yeah the schedule change has had me feeling off. And I just feel kind of off in general right now. Not in like a sad way but in an off way. Probably my disgusting female hormones and my pathetic female body just doing its thing. I'm trying to take a step back from life and what I'm getting overwhelmed with so I can come back and look at tasks one at a time instead of feeling like I need to finish them all at once.
I usually wouldn't post an update like this, but because I currently have a commission queue[that you can see on my profile]and a few other inquiries that haven't been bolted down yet, I felt it kind of necessary to be like "hey I'm a bit busy, but I swear I'm not dead and I totally didn't forget about any commissioners" and for those who are looking to order a new commission, I'm still open, I just can't guarantee a fast finish. More news on commissions. Im just finishing one more example for a new sheet, then I will be making my updated price sheet. And my sketchpage sale deal ends tomorrow :0
I think that's everything I wanted to talk about! Thank y'all for being here and everyone have a happy springtime!!!

300 WATCHERS||FINALLY RECORDIG Q&A||SPEEDPAINT SUGGESTIONS??
General | Posted 7 years agoHi everyone! We've reached exactly 300 watchers on just FurAffinity!! Thank you all for the support and I'm so glad there has been positive reception of my art online:)
I'm also actually recording that Q&A video like tomorrow so if there are any more questions to squeeze in ask them as comments to this journal! Personal or art related are great! Funnny or serious ones :0
One other thing I wanted to experiment with was the automatic video record setting on procreate/sketchbook for iPad. As well as video editing. If everything technically goes well with recording/editing I'd like some suggestions for a speedpaint using my iPads software. No promise because it might not work out, but it might be cool for u people to see some of my processes.
Suggestions for a speedpaint can be any random suggestion(sfw only)that is a random character or situation prompt, or something containing Priscilla or my other characters. Preferably cute, lighthearted or comedic... Shoot me yo ideas cuz ur all so smart and creative❤️❤️
Ps. I know I advertised the Q A way too early but I'm bad at time estimation I'm sorry
Pps. Thanks again for being great and supporting my work it means a lot
Ppps. The reason I'm recording now is because to have the apartment to myself for a few days and I need to keep busy without annoying my family. I also love talking to myself haha

MOVING NEXT WEEK
General | Posted 7 years ago¡¡IM MOVING NEXT WEEK!!
I'll also be shipping my computer with the wonderful services from our friends at The UPS Store®
UPS is usually pretty good with deadlines, so I'll hopefully have it within 3 days of processing the shipment. Cost is also a factor. Cost of shipping is affected primarily by dimensions, weight, location and delivery time.
Not taking into consideration my computer's location, I'll probably also be busy with getting furniture, making goals, learning about the infrastructure of a new city, spending time with my loved ones, ETC.
That's the only important announcement regarding my posting and i just wanted to apologize in advance if I'm less communicable over the next week or two. I also only have one unfinished commission I'm working on, and iI'm 78% sure I'll finish it before I move. Anyone still interested in ordering a commission during my occupied time is certainly still welcome to contact me and I'll try my best to communicate over mobile.
The rest of this journal is just going to be me babbling about some stuff. Nothing important or concrete, but I'm in a personable, lovey-dovey writtey mood.
I do have an iPad that i use for drawing, so i might post sketches from that, but nothing good probably. We'll see. I want to do some from life city scapes and start trying new things and branching out with my artistic practices. I also want to get back into life drawing. I was kind of on vacation for November so I didn't get out to draw from life.
This is also the first time I've really travelled in 5 years or so and im really excited to have some new surroundings to inspire me. I feel ready to meet new people, real-life artist friends or even have an affair. Im ready to build my career as an adult. Maybe even start some bigger projects or find a job that creatively satisfies me, depending on where the wind takes me.
This past year, being my first time posting art and having semi-anonymous social media, I've made a lot of growth. Both as an artist and as a person. I feel really valued and confident and I'm super grateful for all of you people who have followed my work, talked to me and made me feel welcome online. I've learned a lot about taking and giving criticism, which is something I've never had to do before. Looking at descriptions and comments I've made earlier this year i was a bit more negative and self-deprecating. Never overly so and that's not necessarily a bad thing, but seeing that really allows me to quantify the improvements in my headspace, And that feels good.
A LIST OF SOME THINGS I WANT TO DO:
• Record Q&A video
• I think I want to do an art raffle at like… 500 watchers or something. Prolly 2 sketch prizes and 1 finished painting prize. That sounds fun.
• Update my commission sheet
• Look into Furnal Equinox 2020 dealers den booth
• Finish a secret scripted project I've been working on
• Try new things
• See a real sheep
• Go to the zoo
• Make friends
• Build a professional portfolio that isn't just furries
• Re-draw old art
• Learn how to do screen cap and look into speed paints or streaming
