Trying my Best!
General | Posted 7 months agoHello it's been a while since i engaged in this site directly, but i plan on doing so going forward. Going to FWA last year showed me a lot about the community and it's celebration of art and the people who engage with it. It's been tough finding my place in the art world where I was often on the fringes of things. I always appreciated Anthro art, but didn't quite know how to handle my skills to make it. my work was very surface level and didn't contain the character in the characters i was drawing. After taking a character design class, i feel that i have better control of my expression now.
Since the rise of AI the internet became a hellscape and I'm very pleasantly surprised to see this community standing strong. After years of stumbling in the dark, I finally ended back here. A majority of the people i interacted online were in the furry community and a fair share of commissions i got were from those in the furry fandom. The world of the gaming and animation industry i was shooting for was incredibly harsh. Not much value was put on creativity and much more on skill. I finally learned that it's not skill that evokes emotion in others, but rather expression.
Now after exploring where i don't fit in, I'm lead to where I do fit in. Eventually i want to move all of my content towards anthro art, going forward animal and anthro art will be all I post here. It's going to take some time to adjust, but I've become more adaptable over the years. This site has also made some amazing developments and is very user friendly it seems!
And i finally made my first Sona! well i reappropriated her design into my Sona, but now i feel she has a personality! her name is Hazel and i hope to draw her in a communal way!
Thank you for reading, i hope to contribute going forward!

My first time at FWA!
General | Posted a year agoI attended my first convention at FWA! I had a fun time meeting people and it helped me grow as a person. i might eventually want to do NSFW art, but i need to ease into it. I learned a lot as a person and the community was very welcoming. I want to explore and experiment with things and grow more as a person and artist. the community was so positive I want to find more ways to contribute.
Not all of my art is anthro art, but i want to branch out a little more and see if its for me. my opinions have changed on kink culture as i aged and i have a better understanding of things. I found out im on the autism spectrum and the way of transparency and honesty in kink culture is more comfortable to me now.
I'm working on myself as an artist with my style and i plan on going to school again to get into concept art. I want to grow my skills and also contribute to this community with my art. hopefully i can learn mroe about myself as a person and artist!

New to the Community
General | Posted 9 years agoHello I've been drawing and painting for about 4 years. I mainly posted on tumblr and followed a number of furry artists. Even though I didn't draw anthros, I still appreciated the creativeness of the community. That being said, tumblr was not much of a community. It was more of a blog format where you posted and people liked what you posted. I not only want to provide art for this community, but I also want to participate with others. I'll need a little while to get settled in and get used to commenting.
I want to try to be more involved in some of the culture like making a sona, art trades, and commissions. I feel I should start meeting people first and get a little more settled in. So that's why I'm introducing myself in this journal.
I don't really want to be involved with fetish artwork. It isn't something that makes me feel too comfortable. RP is another thing, maybe if I'm used to commenting I'll know how to respond. I don't want to sound like a stifler, but I'm still willing to give it a try.
I don't paint creatures exclusively, but they can still be a subject in some of my paintings. Don't know if you all would want to see the pieces that don't have some form of creature as the subject. Sometimes I keep creatures in my computer's scrap folder, so I can post it to my scraps here or have it as its own piece.
I'm pleased to start posting here and getting to know you all!
