Cancelled Mouse Guard demo reel
Posted 6 years agoThe $170 million budgeted Mouse Guard movie was one of the casualties of Disney's purchase of Fox.
A 'demo reel' had been produced to present the general tempo and 'feel' of the movie, and not the final look.
Hopefully, they're able to find another studio to take up this project.

Pluto TV - Free Streaming shows & Movies
Posted 6 years agoWanted to push out my previous journal, so I figured I'd simply mention the free TV Streaming site. PlutoTV:
https://pluto.tv
While they have some limited On Demand content, the majority is scheduled programming, but with over 200 channels to choose from, there's almost certainly something of interest to watch.
I just watched an episode of the old British TV show, The Prisoner, which I haven't seen in years.
I was surprised to see that they have an Asylum Movie channel (channel 96), which only shows those bad, yet entertaining, Asylum Movies. Of course there's a lot more as well, like even 2 Anime channels.
Just a nice option when looking for something to watch without Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney+ or any other pay service to join or log into.
They also have a phone app you can grab on the Play Store, for those who watch everything on their phone.
Some other places to watch free Streaming Movies and TV shows:
- Tubi TV
- Popcorn Flix

Snuff Writer Boost - Hilrall
Posted 6 years ago
Hilrall has recently been uploading some wonderful 'competition' stories that more fans of snuff need to check out. What marks him as more unique is that he also writes non-tournament entries to many of the match-ups, where he presents two possible outcomes, with each of the competitors winning.
It makes for a lot of fun reads.
Finally, he's offering up some free slots to put your own character into a competition (results are done by dice rolls and not voting) and he needs some more contestants:

So, if you enjoy snuff/fatal stories, give him a watch and maybe even toss your character into the competitions. <3
R.I.P. TrickTheFox
Posted 6 years agoIt is always difficult to hear that a fellow fur has passed away, especially when it is someone you know.
On Feb. 4th,
TrickTheFox had passed away from a heart attack (I heard he was only 33 years old).
He had been struggling with diabetes that made it difficult for him to walk, as well as the emotional stress of losing his dog, 2 months ago.
While I followed Trick here on FA, I had not talked with him in far too many years now; but he will always be in my memory from those early years in Yum Chat and Wolfen Chat, RPing vore scenes when it was still taboo to mention your love for vore to outsiders.
I know Trick remained active on other sites, and although we no longer kept in touch, I was glad to see that he still had many friends he shared his time with. Thank you to all of those friends who helped Trick to remain happy.
I don't know how Trick described his character anymore, but back in 2003, his original description was as a female fox:
Standing here, you see your average, little pretty anthro vixen, with the exception that, instead of the classic orange-with-white-and-black-trim, she has orange with silver trim. Yep, orange all over, but her paws (all four of them) are silver, as is the tips of her ears and the tip of her tail.
As far as her physical shape is concerned, she stands at an even five feet tall to her ears, and is rather thin, trim, and light-weight. Her fur is very soft, and her breasts are about 36C, and she has shoulder length dark-blonde hair.
Currently she wears a tight, white t-shirt that seems a bit too small and goes down to just above her waist, and a pair of hip-hugging jeanshorts that go halfway down her thigh, exposing most of her legs. She goes barepawed.
This tender young vixen is incredibly delicious and tasty (and nutritious!)
Preferences : Prey, willing/unwilling, yiffing is okay, male or female
OOC: Oh, I simply love being swallowed, bulging out a predator's throat and his or her belly too! Big, full predators, full of some unlucky vixen, stroking that bulge happily! And I love it when predators tease verbally and tell me how good I tasted...
Rest well, Trick. I hope you are now in a better place.

A view back to Earth
Posted 7 years agoNASA just released a photo of earth and the moon from the asteroid, Bennu:
https://tinyurl.com/yb23bqxc
What amazes me the most is given how small Bennu is, with the camera only 27 miles away, yet we were not only able to spot the asteroid, but launch a craft to intercept and obtain orbit around it.
Of course, this all only reminds me of Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot"
The world lost one of its greatest astronomer/philosophers 22 years ago, but thankfully we have so much audio and video to remember him by. I only hope that those who were born after his passing, can still learn from and appreciate his wisdom.

RIP Entertainer & Musician, Roy Clark
Posted 7 years agoRoy Clark, a country music legend and host of the variety show, Hee Haw, for 25 years, has passed away at age 85.
While I never cared for Hee Haw and am not a huge fan of most country music, Roy Clark's guitar skills were legendary and it's disheartening to hear of his passing.
My best memories of him are from his guest appearance on the old sitcom, The Odd Couple.
Particularly his segment at the 5 1/2-minute mark of this video:
Further evidence of his guitar-playing skills can be seen from his appearance on the "Johnny Cash and Friends" Show:
And one final video with youtuber Wings of Pegasus, giving some analysis on Roy's playing skills:
I encourage people to do a youtube search for more of Roy Clark's videos.
RIP Roy Clark.

RIP Stan Lee
Posted 7 years agoOthers have already posted about this, but I felt the need to include this on my journals as well.
Stan Lee passed away Nov. 12th, 2018: https://www.cbr.com/stan-lee-obituary/
Stan Lee had been a wonderful influence on my childhood. Back in the '70s, before the Internet and before cable TV, comic books were my primary form of entertainment, and it was always the Marvel super-heroes that I turned to.
I still recall going to the local newsstand/coffee shop where they had a single, spinning rack of comics, to pick up the latest issue of Spider-Man, The Hulk, The Fantastic Four, or any of the other Marvel super-hero titles that came out that week.
Ironically, 20 years later, in the '90s, I opened up a comic shop in the same strip mall, just a few doors down from where that newsstand had once been. An endeavor brought about by my love of comics, all due to the imagination and creativity of Stan Lee.
Stan Lee redefined super-heroes and changed the very nature of comics.
He will be missed, but is now back in the company of fellow creators, Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko; as well as the millions of fans who have gone before.
RIP Stan Lee, and thank you for all the memories.

WATCH - Friday the 13th fan film
Posted 7 years agoWhile looking around for some horror movies to watch as we lead up to Halloween, I came across a fan-created film called "Never Hike Alone".
From the Friday the 13th Wiki:
"Never Hike Alone is a 54 min Friday The 13th fan film created by Womp Stomp Films. It was released on October Friday the 13th 2017 on YouTube and has since gained over 500k views.
The fan film is about Kyle McLeod, a hiker who, during a solo backpacking trip, discovers the long lost remains of Camp Crystal Lake. However, as he explores around the area, he soon realizes he's not alone."
Made for under $20,000, this is a great little gem for anyone who enjoys the Friday The 13th franchise, or anyone who simply enjoys suspenseful horror movies.
It's currently available to watch on youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7K_wkQSM8xM
I recommend enjoying it with the lights off and no other distractions going on. :)

Switch to DuckDuckGo web search and avoid Google trackers
Posted 7 years agoIf you're tired of Google collecting every bit of information about you that it can, or want to feel more certain that your search results are not being filtered based on what Google thinks you want (or what they want you to see), then try switching to DuckDuckGo.
https://duckduckgo.com
I've only been using DuckDuckGo for a few weeks now, and have had no problem with finding the search results I was needing.
It's nice to have an alternative that isn't run by a huge corporation that wants to control the way you think and use the internet.
Plus... Ducks. ^_^

RIP Schoolhouse Rock song writer, Bob Dorough
Posted 7 years agoBob Dorough passed away on Monday at 94 years old.
Though many people today would have no idea of what Schoolhouse Rock was, back in the days before the Internet and Cable TV, ABC decided to add some entertaining education to their Saturday Morning cartoon line-up. To those who had seen them, I am sure that even these decades later, those jingles are more memorable than the cartoons they were shown between. Just a testament to the song writing ability of Bob Dorough.

R.I.P. Marko - The fandom loses an awesome rat
Posted 7 years agoI just learned that
Haal (also went by
SnackRat) has passed away due to cancer a few days ago.
My deepest condolences to all of his family and friends.
I first met Marko at Anthrocon in 2009, while he was wearing his awesome fursuit, Rattus.
While that was the last time I was at AC, I did see him at Midwest Furfest in the years after that, and enjoyed every moment I got to spend with him.
Most memorable was when he joined me and several friends for dinner, and we were able to chat outside of the con atmosphere.
I'm saddened that I didn't get to spend more time with him, or get to know him better; but his loss has made the world a little bit gloomier.
RIP bud. May you now be enjoying the company of millions of playful, furry, chittering companions.

Wile E. Coyote T-Shirt at Shirtpunch.com - Today Only
Posted 8 years agohttps://www.shirtpunch.com/
I'm a huge coyote fan, and it's not often you get to see Wile E. Coyote in a T-Shirt, especially with this one being pretty awesome.
It's only $10 + shipping, though unfortunately, it's today only, so as of this Journal, you have about 11 hours left to decide if you want one.
I've ordered mine.
EDIT:
I should add that my build is kind of on the cusp between Medium and Large, depending on the manufacturer.
I've only ordered 1 shirt from shirtpunch in the past, which was a size large. It has just a slightly loose fit to it.
A medium would probably have been a little tight. So, their sizes appear to be fairly accurate to what you expect to find.

Aboriginal Folklore: The Yara-ma-yha-who
Posted 8 years agoHow have I never heard of the Yara-ma-yha-who before.
These awesome cryptids resemble a small, frog-like man with red fur, a very big head and a large mouth with no teeth; and suckers on the ends of it's hands and feet.
It attacks by attaching those suckers onto your flesh that drain your blood, and once weakened, it unhinges its mouth and swallows you whole.
Over time, it then repeatedly regurgitates and swallows you, where you grow smaller and redder, until turning into a Yara-ma-yha-who yourself.

For all of the fans of Mike Rowe - new online show
Posted 8 years agoI've pretty much loved every show that Mike Rowe has hosted, so it was nice to discover that he's now hosting a new show called "Returning the Favor".
However, the show is shown only on Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/ReturningTheFavor/
They are ~20 minute long episodes, where they showcase people who do things for others out of the kindness of their hearts.
Some very touching moments, and it remains true to Mike's other shows where they don't hide the crew and camera-men from being seen, which only helps add to the charm.
So, if you're a fan of Mike Rowe or just want to see a really entertaining and heart-warming show, check it out.
And also be sure to check out his audio blog, The Way I Heard It.
Short, little tales that are both interesting and informative.

Red Letter Media Movie Reviews
Posted 8 years agoFor a while now, I've watched Red Letter Media's Youtube Channel for some wonderfully entertaining movie reviews.
In particular, being a fan of B-Movies, I've enjoyed their Best of the Worst channel, where they'll watch 3 bad movies and discuss which one is the best and which is the worst.
Recently, they started up a new channel called re:View, where they review just a single Movie with an in-depth analysis of what made it good or bad. What I love the most is that the very first movie they re:View, is "Tremors".
A now classic horror/monster movie, it is just really nice to watch someone break down the movie with all of the wonderful things they had done in it, to make it the classic that it is.
So, if you love monster movies and have 20 minutes to spare, check out their re:View of Tremors.
