Status Update: Mental Health Stuff
Posted a year agoHey folks. It’s been a while since I’ve been present online pretty much at all, and I’d like to give an explanation as well as an apology.
So, my mental health took a nosedive recently and I lost almost the entirety of the last few months to depression and anxiety. While this has happened before, I assumed that I had a handle on it this time around; I had been diagnosed with ADHD, and the medication, therapy and techniques I was using to alleviate it seemed to be working and my negative feelings became much milder.
Unfortunately, I underestimated how bad the underlying problems were. I have been treated for depression prior to the ADHD treatment, but since the medication didn’t seem to have any effect I just assumed the extreme discomfort was just a side effect of ADHD making my life difficult. Because I thought this was the normal amount of stress and discomfort to endure, I delayed getting help until long after I had burned out
The good news is that I’ve gotten at least a little peace of mind with the new diagnoses, and I have gotten back into therapy and am trying out new meds with my doctor’s recommendation. I’m going to try and be a bit more patient with things this time; progress isn’t strictly linear and I’ve been humbled to realize that, despite everything, I don’t know as much about myself as I think I do.
I’ve seriously fallen behind on art in general, but I’m going to try and ease myself back into things. I deeply apologize to my clients who have been waiting for art for too long, and for my Patreon supporters who have not received the promised updates for the last few months. I’m going to be doing my best to get back into working so I can catch up on these, though I’m afraid I don’t know how long that will take due to so much uncertainty remaining with my mental health.
And once again thank you for the people who have been patient and kind with me despite my almost total self-isolation.

Status Update: i hauve covid :( + delays
Posted a year agoI got a little sick while visiting family, and what was supposed to be a very short stay is now extended for a bit while I quarantine. On the positive side, everyone is doing okay and the symptoms are all quite mild.
Unfortunately, I do not have my tablet, computer or files here, so I can't work at all until I return home around June 8th. Commissions, uploads, and May's Patreon rewards are all on hold until I can get back and resume work on them.
To everyone who's got commissions in the pipe or was waiting on the Patreon rewards, I apologize for the delays and appreciate your patience. Will do my best to catch up when I get back.

Status Update: Things r good + Patreon Poll remidner
Posted a year agoJust a short update; still been busy these days but things have been well and I've been keeping productive for a while now. I feel a lot more confident with handling my finances, though some days are still kinda hard and it is hard to keep up with my goals without pushing past my limits. In that regard, Patreon has been a huge help in terms of giving me a bit more peace of mind (even if I still really hope to keep growing it over time). The fact Ive been able to keep up with my promises so far, and have gotten so much positive feedback from others has definitely given me a lot more confidence with it too. Thanks everyone <3
Reminder for $5+ Patrons! Poll for next month's sequence ends soon!
In other Patreon news, I have extended the poll for May's tf sequence by a couple of days, as there weren't many votes compared to the Patrons of the appropriate tier. If necessary, I'll make more reminders for this kind of thing in the future and hopefully post em earlier in the month so the generous souls who support me can get the full value of their subscription.
Whether you are a Patron or not, click here to see the poll options. I'll make a TFTG sequence in May that incorporates the winning character and tf concept from their respective polls.

Status Update: Patreon's Back! See New Stuff!
Posted a year agoAnother batch of uploads, another status update. Getting right to the point here and save the personal stuff for later:
(fair warning, content is a bit sparse for now but will be rectified soon. Details below)
It’s back up and running, though with revamped benefits and perks. $2 Patrons can see Patreon-exclusive sketchpages and alternate art, with new ones created at a minimum of once per month. If possible I'll try and do more than that but its not something I can guarantee.
$5 Patrons can also vote on monthly polls to decide what projects I'll work on in the coming month.
As of now (03/24/24) there's only one batch of alt art + one poll for March, and a sketchpage on its way before the end of the month. I'll try and get extra stuff done in the next few months so that your subscription comes with a bit more value to start, but for now early adopters should be aware of this. For those that subscribe anyways to help me out financially, I am extra deeply grateful to you.
I’m open to the idea of adding higher tiers, or more perks to existing tiers. This does depend a bit on how helpful Patreon will be to my current financial struggles though. I am pretty invested in making this at least reasonably successful, so if there’s any feedback you can give to improve this or make it more worthwhile to you as a Patron, I would greatly appreciate anything you can share whether you subscribe or not.
While I will likely upload fewer sketches to FA/Twitter in the future, I intend to keep the majority of my content freely available. Commissions and personal art will continue be uploaded to my galleries.
I am aware that Patreon is getting a bit finnicky about what they allow on their website. I’m hoping I can avoid any complications this has, though even if the worst case scenario I’ll just migrate to another website like SubscribeStar.
There's a few minor updates regarding commissions and art trades.
1. Slightly Stricter Upcharge/Design Pricing for Commissions
Commissions are progressing steadily, though the time/effort investment vs. pricing is still falling short for what I need to pay my bills. I am hoping Patreon will help enough so that I can keep my prices from going up across the board, but either way I will need to be a bit more strict with up-charging for time consuming things like constant edits, complexity, size, designwork, etc.
I’ll include designwork in the default price of a commission, though I will refund that fee if the commission process is quick and easy and minimizes the extra work I need to do. In more specific terms: Commission plan finalized in one session instead of changed multiple times, no extra design work or research needed to be done by me (outside of basic things like poses), and no more than one batch of minor revisions needed.
I’ll make doubly sure to communicate expectations with new clients so that any such upcharges will not come as a surprise, and if you want to make sure prices are low just let me know and I can give suggestions and guidelines for your commission plan so it minimizes the amount of extra work I need to do and keep things cheap. I will try to update the commission sheet soon so it has this information.
2. I’m not taking any art trades for the foreseeable future.
They are a lot of fun for me and I love both giving and receiving art from others, but unfortunately the financial and time management situation has made it extremely difficult to do them while also keeping up on work. Often they wind up being just as stressful as they are fun. I hope to change this in the future, but for now this is the situation I am dealing with.
Okay, so for personal stuff,
Things have been going pretty well this year for the most part so far but, as you may have gathered from the preceding parts, I’m still struggling quite a bit with income. Every day I become a little more efficient and productive, but it’s a slow process and the bills care not for my pace of improvement. I’m hoping Patreon will help cover that a bit so I don’t need to stress so much about it or change my prices much, though we’ll see how this turns out.
I’ll redouble my effort to organize myself so I can keep my galleries and such updated more often. It’s a lot better than last year, but I do want to make it at least a pinch more regular.
Still feeling pretty optimistic despite any setbacks, so hopefully the coming year turns out well for me. Thanks again to everyone who supports me, whether its financially though commissions/subscriptions or just being there for me emotionally when I need it. <3

Status Update: Caught up! (sorta)
Posted 2 years agoPhew, finally up to date on sharing all the art I've done over the past year or so, barring any mistakes or ones that I forgot. Hopefully can keep on top of it a bit better this time around and upload new art more or less within a week or so after finishing. Knock on wood.
Still gonna be busy for a while though. I have a lot of commissions to do and, despite the price adjustments, I still need to dedicate most of my available energy to those in order to make up for lost time in the past. It would also be good to be ahead of the game in general, as I have come to terms with the fact that burnout happens anyways despite my best efforts and I can save myself a lot of heartache and financial anxiety if I'm already prepared for those.
It'll remain a balancing act; I want to be responsible and prioritize work first, but also want to avoid souring myself on art in general by totally neglecting personal art done for my own sake. Having said that, I remain optimistic: since my last update I've been able to work hard and make solid, consistent progress without feeling like I've pushed myself too far (though I admit some days are a bit too 'packed' for my liking). It feels like years of struggle and introspection have slowly paid off and I'm just now finally figuring out how to actually do things on my own. Its a nice change of pace, though I also acknowledge this kind of energy can come and go and want to be able to see any setbacks that come as temporary rather than a sign I've totally failed. Thanks again to everyone who's been kind, patient and supportive to me. It's been a lot of help <3
Now that I've got a bit more breathing room, I'm hoping to dedicate a bit more mental energy to stuff like Patreon or similar such things again. Even a small amount of money would help ease some of my remaining worries about keeping up with my bills (grumble grumble decade-old student loans grumble), and I think I have a few ideas that would make it 'worth it' to potential patrons without either intruding on the time and energy I would normally spend on commissions anyways, or pay walling off a lot of my art.
Right now I'm considering polishing up my personal sketchpages I do for self-indulgent stuff and offering those, or maybe giving patrons a vote in which of my own side projects I focus on. I might do a deeper dive into my plans for such things later on in a journal entry or on discord or something, but for now I'm just letting you know I've got this on my mind
I've also heard from friends that Patreon is cracking down on NSFW work, so if that doesn't work out I'll need to consider alternatives. I'll worry about the specifics of which site I use when I actually get to that point though.

Updates on my status, plans for the future, etc.
Posted 2 years agoHey everyone,
Hope you’re all doing well after my (very) extended absence.
The year is winding down to a close and I feel a little improvement in my mental state, so I figure this is a good opportunity for some long overdue updates, both personal and ‘professional’. While they’re both connected, you can skip to the lower section if you just want to know how this affects my art, commissions and all that stuff.
Personal Matters:
This year has been a mixed bag in terms of mental health. On one hand, I’ve been able to make gradual improvements thanks to receiving an official diagnosis that helped provide some context for my struggles, as well as plan a way forward. I’ve received medication and therapy which have made it much easier, and as always I am grateful for the continued support from those close to me to keep me going.
On the other hand, this is also an ongoing process of training good habits and self-discovery, and I have not gotten everything right on the first (or second, or third) try. The cycle of good times followed by extended periods of extreme burnout continues.
I will continue to try and improve, but right now I think that I need to adjust expectations to accommodate my current limitations. I’ve been more or less working off the conception of what a ‘normal’ person would be able to accomplish on a regular basis in terms of maintaining interpersonal relationships, doing work, and staying on top of other responsibilities. Most of my energy has been expended trying to figure out how to trick myself to achieve that pace. Unfortunately, the unavoidable truth is that I get mentally exhausted much more easily than other people. I can accomplish this pace for short periods of a time, but it is unsustainable as my reserves always run out in the end and I wind up crashing hard and finding it incredibly difficult to recover.
Progress in this case means I’ll be far more conservative with my time and energy. I’ll have to balance my goals and ambitions so that they are attainable despite my weaknesses. I imagine there will continue to be periods of difficulty and relapses, but hopefully by setting more realistic expectations I can manage them better than I had in the past.
Business™ Matters: (skip to here if you just want the important updates)
Basically, what entails from the stuff I mentioned before is that I’ll be operating a little differently going forth so I can accommodate my limitations while achieving my goals.
1. Ongoing Commissions and Waitlist
Despite difficulties in other areas, I’ve prioritized my limited energy on commission work and have been able to keep a decent pace on them. I’ve had a good track record this year in getting projects finished for clients not long after I start.
I’m still operating with the extended waitlist for commissions, though I will need to update the actual links to said waitlists to newer versions. This should be done relatively soon.
2. Commission Prices Update
Prices have been updated, and I’ll post the new commission sheet shortly. I’ve done my best to balance the fact I need commissions to support myself financially on a workload I can manage long-term without burnout, while also trying to keep things affordable for future commissioners. There may be further tweaks to the prices in the future, but for now I feel comfortable with how they are.
3. Uploading Art to Galleries
I’ve neglected updating art as I finish it, and my internalized ‘all or nothing’ attitude has delayed me fixing the backlog that has developed this year. The backlog will be uploaded piece-by-piece over the next indeterminate amount of time. Going forward I’ll try and find a good pattern of uploading so this doesn’t happen again: often enough that I don’t lose track of time but not so often that I can’t manage it. It’ll probably continue to be irregular for a while, as any patterns of organization I’m dealing with is still work-in-progress.
4. Communication, messages, and replies
First of all, I’ve set up a new email for commission discussion and other general questions: pastrycommissions[at]gmail.com
Secondly, most people who know me are probably aware how much I struggle with communication. It’s currently my main source of anxiety, and despite my best efforts there are points where I struggle so badly I completely ‘shut down’ for very long periods of time and default to avoiding everything and everyone. My energy and availability comes and goes, and the fact of the matter is that even casual conversations drain the same battery and use the same time that I am normally able to set aside for work and staying on top of responsibilities.
During periods where I’m busy or feeling drained I will have to prioritize work and work-related communication over everything else, no exceptions. These periods have lasted weeks and even months in the past, though hopefully they will become more minor as time goes on. While I will try to build a habit of checking-in so backlogs of messages won't build up, they will likely be infrequent most of the time and I cannot promise I'll be able to do more than say hi and answer some questions.
I apologize in advance if I come across as rude and inconsiderate for such behavior in the past and for any time this happens in the future. These withdrawals are entirely my own difficulties and not an indication of my opinion of those around me. I genuinely still enjoy chatting and receiving messages, and hope you can understand that is not my intention to push people away even if I’m unable to talk much at all.
5. Streams and Other Projects
While I hope that in the future I’ll be able to revisit ideas like art streams, requests or trades, I am too preoccupied with my tasks at hand to even guess when I will be able to return to such things.
If I have the time and energy I might do something randomly out of the blue, but please don’t take that as a sign that I’m able to do it with any regularity just yet. It’s fine to reach out and ask questions about these things, though I once again ask to temper your expectations and understand the answer will likely be ‘no’ for the foreseeable future.
Thank you all for your understanding and patience. <3

Status Update: Not dead
Posted 4 years agoHey everyone, sorry its been a long time since I've been present at all. I am still alive though!
I wont get into too much detail, but basically it's been difficult for me to focus on the things I need to do, or even just reach out to people. I've always kinda struggled with this type of thing, but over the past few months its gotten especially hard to overcome.
Due to not being able to get professional help for a while, I've mostly tried to handle things on my own. It's not worked out very well, though I still do hope at some point I can at least get back into doing some basic things, even if I might not be able to match the productivity of earlier times just yet. Hopefully I can get actual therapy soon too, after I finish sorting out some insurance issues.
I want to thank my friends who reached out to me even when I've been reclusive. I appreciate everyone's kindness and patience. It's been invaluable in keeping me together in these times.
For the time being I'll try and get art done at my own pace, possibly streaming either personal doodles or the odd commission if I feel like I can produce the level quality that people are expecting. I will not be taking any new commissions for the foreseeable near future, however.

Free Halloween-Themed TF Raffle Stream (10/30)
Posted 5 years agoHey all!
Good news for all you fans of TF; I'm bringing back the free TF stream as a one off thing this Halloween's Eve! If you've got a hankering to turn an OC into a spooky ghost, or one of the pre-made victims into some kind of pumpkin monster, now is your chance.
The rules have been slightly changed from last time, so ill give a brief recap to keep everyone on the same page:
-The general idea is that you put your idea for some halloween-themed transformation art on the following list here, as well as your username. When the stream starts, I will randomly select one of the listed requests and quickly sketch it out, repeating the process until the stream is over.
-Requests should be brief; ill only be spending 20-30 minutes tops on each one, meaning ill probably do at most 2 full body sketches (or 3-4 more if its only a chest-up sequence). If you use a premade victim from the list in the link, I should be able to make a 3 panel full-body tf sequence of your choosing.
-Requests are preferred to be both related to transformation and a Halloween theme, though I will have some leeway if your tf idea is only tangentially related to either transformation, or Halloween. Requests that are too off topic will not be considered.
-Unlike last time, I am allowing people to make a request even though they are not directly in the stream. However it is preferred that you show up, especially if you get chosen (so you can give some feedback as I draw your request)
The stream is planned to start at 2PM EST, October 30th. There is no conclusive end time, though I intend for the stream to extend late into the evening.
The picarto link for the stream is here: https://picarto.tv/professionalquitter
I have no intention of making these streams monthly, as they have been in the past. However, if it goes smoothly I may bring this free stream concept back for other special occasions.
Good luck, and happy Halloween everyone!

Final (probably) Free TF Stream Sunday (9/29 2pm EST)
Posted 6 years agoHey guys, got an announcement to make about the Free Streams.
I've been doing them for a pretty long time now. They've always been a lot of fun for me and the people that participate, and I can honestly say I think it's the reason why I've made long-lasting friendships with so many of you. Its a chance for people that aren't in a financial situation to buy commissions to try out some creative ideas and for those that can to try out ideas they're more experimental about. After some chats with friends and a bit of self-reflection, I feel like it's not something I can keep up without undue stress. Most of the time people are understanding and courteous but there are times I feel a little taken advantage of which seriously saps my motivation to do art, and I admit it's taken priority over paid commissions on multiple occasions because of my desire to have some semblance of consistency with them.
Though they have evolved past the point of comfort for me, I still crave the same creativity and free interaction that they provide. I want to be able to indulge in everyone's collective creativity and for them in turn to enjoy some custom art.
I'm going to try and have at least one more Free Stream to wind things down rather than stop abruptly, but after that I'll be seriously considering the future of these types of stream. While I don't want to cut this kind of interaction out entirely, I don't think I'll be able to continue in the same way I have in the past. It might wind up coming back after an extended break, or I'll try doing some other way of doodling for people without it being quite so structured.
Either way, I apologize for any disappointment this caused, and the general abruptness of this announcement. I feel like I have enough faith in you all that we can continue staying together as a pleasant little community event without this. Thank you everyone!
TL:DR: Free Stream Sunday 9/29 @ 2:00PM EST. It's gonna be the last one, possibly for a long time. I'll try and replace it with something that doesn't burn me out as much
In the meanwhile, I'll try and be more casual when it comes to streaming my regular art process, whether it is for commissions, personal projects, or just aimless doodles.

Free TF Stream Wednesday (8/21 4pm EST)
Posted 6 years agoATTENTION:
In an attempt to cut back on the times I accidentally miss someone to be put up on the raffle wheel as well as make things a little faster on my end, I'll be using this GoogleDoc to keep track of people who want in on the raffle. On stream day, just add your name on the list and ill take care of the rest.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet.....usp=sheets_web
Last stream's winners were: KingGreen, specter, Kieros, thetransformtentacle, DarkRatel, Braqish
Before last stream's winners were: EnderEmerald, Maxwell, leviathin, swellowsean, steel, firestorm
https://picarto.tv/professionalquitter
Stream procedure below cut.
Streams will be vaguely monthly. Anyone who hasn't won more than 2 streams ago can request a short tf sequence for me do. No guarantees you'll win however, the requests do tend to pile up quickly.
Procedure
Post request in chat (or send me a whisper) for a 2-panel tf sequence. Can be extended to 3 panels if you use one of the 'pre-made victims' (message me if you want to commission a victim for yourself to add to the list) I will also do 2-character post tf scenes, or 2 mid-tf images as well.
Request should include victim, final result of tf, cause of tf and any extra information you think might be relevant (mental changes, changes to clothing, etc.)
Approved requests get put on a wheel and randomly selected throughout the entire night, usually 5 or maybe 6 will be done per stream.
Guidelines
I won't do requests that are outside of my commissioning guidelines: Gore, bodily wastes, excessively detailed character designs, death, underage characters in sexual situations. I also prefer not to do animal genitalia but I am willing to discuss that. I am fine with bizarre situations and tf forms otherwise
If you opt to use a 'pre-made victim', the owner of the it can veto a proposed concept if they are uncomfortable it. Discussing these things before hand will keep things running smoothly
No requesting for other people
Requests will take up a maximum of 1 hour, to save you some time have your concepts ready if/when you win (victim, final tf form, cause of tf, reaction to tf, etc.)
Try to be present if you get rolled. If you have a request on the wheel and you are going to leave for the night let me know so I can remove you from the wheel to reduce confusion
If you won last month's stream or the one before that then you'll need to wait until next month to have a chance to be put on the wheel.

Last stream's winners were: Sutibaru, NotBees, Momjipop, blackjack, Braqish, Occam
Before last stream's winners were: anaileater, MarkMeltzer, SwellowSean, Sliver, Kieros

Posted 7 years agoStarting this month, if you win a stream slot and have your sequence drawn you'll have to wait for two free tf streams before being able to make a request again. So if you win this month, it'll be December when you can make another free request) This due to the larger turnout for these streams lately, in order to give more people a better chance at winning a spot.
