Posted 6 years agoI upgraded(more like UPDATE cause it's p much the same as the previous model) to the stylo 4 and oof ouch the screen is so saturated I hate it also its so slow switching windows I really don't like it what do I tried a filter app but none seem to really fix the saturation like it's so bad I would have just given my sis this one instead of my old phone but the screen is cracked and an eyesore :U
On the plus side pokego doesn't close when I switch to discord and drawing isn't laggy anymore, just need to find a good app to draw in(preferably something simple/similar to alchemy or oekaki)
I also neglected to make sure absolutely everything was transferred and lost a bunch of lore writings rip
just ramblin

Posted 7 years agoI don't think anyone noticed since I'm inactive as is lol
But yea I got evicted so I had to close shop until I settled into the temp home. My storenvy is still closed because all my stuffs in storage(but if you REALLY want something I'll go get it), I'd work on dolls again(I stopped because the old apt had MICE) but there are cats here and I don't want to alienate any allergic peeps.
tbh this is the least of my problems lol u_u
I've been getting back into traditional art but only posted to reddit cause its easy to do on my phone(scanner is also in storage). dragon bois, birdies

Posted 8 years agoStill no heat but that's another story!
Anyone that's on my list is free to contact me about their commission(I will contact you when I'm done with the last job but this will speed things up)
I may actually reopen them for a bit to make back the absurd amount of money I spent in the past week :(tho I have alot of other work to catch up on

Note to those that commissioned a symmetrical piece!
Posted 8 years agoI leave tomorrow, so anyone left on the list may have to wait a bit before I can send out anything. It may be up to a week before I have internet. If you were on the list and haven't received anything, check the email you provided! I feel like I may have missed someone but maybe not? One of the reasons I stopped doing these is because so many people apply at once and I get overwhelmed :v
Symmetrical commissions CLOSED
Posted 8 years agoSorry for taking so long to open them. My dad insisted on paying most of my moving expenses so its not so urgent anymore but also its been cold the past days and I have difficulty drawing with frozen hands. I'm still opening these tho cause I said I would and don't like to disappoint people(but also cause I could use the money to set up internet and buy some kitchen supplies so I don't wind up living like dinotendies lol)
anyways :v

Posted 8 years agoLease in ending, rent is going up.
Aunt is moving in with her friends elderly mom. I'll be moving into my sisters vacant apt in ny next month. On one hand yay back to ny, and on the other it's farther out east long island than when I lived with my mom lol. Also there's no furniture/internet there ツ
Anyway I'm selling some stuff I don't want anymore. Pretty much just my ygo card collection and some fabric scraps. pics here https://imgur.com/a/4bKw9 I thought I had more things but remembered I got rid of most of it during the last move.
Gonna try to use up the fabric I have... Maybe sell some of the fur if anyone wants it(I have a lot of purple and turquoise). Trying to make at least 300$ for moving expenses. Also thinking of bringing back those oh so popular symmetrical commissions for a bit. Gotta finish this thing first tho, so I'll make an announcement in a few days. Half bodies will be 15$ and headshots will be 5$

Haha remember that mild problem I mentioned well it got worse and I reluctantly went to a doctor about it. Apparently If I didn't I'd be in the hospital soon.
But now I have medicine! Medicine that cost almost 40$ for 10 pills because my insurance doesn't cover meds (or anything really cause of the ridiculous deductible)
Apparently I've had a new company since january but my father didn't bother to tell me until I asked about the old one.
srsly It went from "it covers most things but good luck finding someone who accepts it" to "many places take it but it only covers doctor visits after you've spent $3100"

Posted 8 years agoJust some updatez and stuff ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽
Thanks to everyone that's been commissioning and tipping me <3 And sorry for being a bit slow replying and finishing pics lately. I've been feeling a bit uh, weird the past few days. Nothing serious afaik, but it does make it hard to focus. It seems to be getting better atleast :v Since we have enough money for next months expenses commissions will remain open for now.
If worse comes to worse with the whole money situation I'll prob be moving back to nyc. It seems dumb to move somewhere more expensive but I have friends and family there, plus it's much easier to get around, hence easier to find a job I can actually get to... TBH the biggest problem is moving my stuff(specifically my computer setup), all the services I found are for moving multiple rooms and cost like 1k. I only have 10-15 medium boxes worth of stuff(less if I vacuum seal my fabrics), no furniture. I might sell some of my hoard, tho there isn't much(most of my belongings are art supplies, old art and books)

Posted 8 years agoThis will likely be my last month here. We just don't have enough money for rent
It's just a heads up about commissions being closed soon, probably on the 20th.
[edit] I asked how much we need and it seems we now have just enough for rent but not anything else so idk

Plush commission info
Posted 8 years agoPatterns are made from a 3d model, so you can see and change your doll before I even start cutting fabric :)
Do take your characters details into consideration! Some things like complicated designs/hairstyles cannot be easily done and may need to be simplified or removed. I do have an airbrush, so gradients are ok. I do not own an embroidery machine, so eyes/small details will be painted. Dolls are made in a smoke/pet free home.
- I ship from the US, so be aware of potential shipping costs(on average it's $4-$10 within the US). Turnaround time is 2-3 weeks after payment depending on if I have to order more supplies. If you have a specific type of minky you like(patterned/striped/etc), or want a different fabric like fleece or velour, link it to me! Extra supplies generally don't add to the cost unless it's something like fur because furs expensive
- I will not make licensed characters(fan-characters are ok). If you want a plush of someone else's character, you will need to get their permission.
Base price - 100$, 200$ large (20in[H]/8in[W]+)
most wingspans, tails, and ears do not contribute to large size minimum. Unless it's a really simple character, dolls cannot be made smaller than 10 inches. I do not make
giant (3ft+) dolls...yet
Armature - +30-50$
Bean filled - +10$
Examples of estimated cost for a regular sized doll with no armature(using my own characters for ref)
Baxy or Raket - 100$. 1-3 colors, simple pattern
Nexus - 150$. Simple but anything with hair/clothing is just more work, hence more money.
ATLAS - 180$. The mane pieces would take a while to cut and sew! He is also pretty long.
Zeneth - 200$. Fairly simple pattern but lots of details to airbrush and paint. I don't even know what to do with the bracelets/belt.
Faceless - 250$. Long and advanced pattern + lots of fur! The arms would be simplified like in older art.
Pre-made designs (added as I make them!)
Petori - 150$, 300$ for large (80% larger)
11in tall(not counting tail/head tuffs)
Customizable colors, markings, eyes, and fur accents
Patterns: A, B, C
Ridiculous Eel - 70-100$ REALLY BIG EEL - 500$+ probably body pillow sized
About 30-37in long
Customizable colors, eyes, and fins
Mat'cha fairy - 20-25$
About 7-8in tall depending on body
Customizable colors, wings and expressions
Only taking 2 at a time!

I post progress of dolls on my craft discord group! I'll also email you frequent updates!
...I think that's everything... formatting on this is so tedious...

Hey guys wanna hear a funni joke
Posted 8 years agoI rebuilt my computer on pcpartpicker and it costs half what I paid :y
My favorite part is the compatibility issue
I had to replace the cpu fan, hdd and psu so those are what I currently have, I imagine the ones it came with were even cheaper
I hope to upgrade to this, starting with the ram. I don't see much purpose in replacing the case and psu, probably save the hdd for last(even though this ones slow af)
it's gonna take me 3 million years to save up for the board/cpu lol

updatez/importantish commission stuff
Posted 9 years agoPart of this journal is rant/rambling and the other is on commission stuff so I'll mark it what's what
Ramblin
So I'm finally settled into the "newly renovated" **upgraded** apartment and needless to say it's more like an "updated downgrade for 270$ more a month". They removed alot of things for some reason, most notably the ceiling fans. It's a big problem for us cause we can't afford to run the ac more than a few hrs a month... They did let us take the fan fixtures from the old apt atleast so it's cool beans now. Also they removed the living room light but left the switch lol(there's actually alot of problems, I mentioned most of them on twitter)
Commission updatez
Aside from a small increase in prices to help make the new rent, I'll be discontinuing symmetrical things. There are multiple reasons for this, mostly due to it becoming so repetitive that the quality is starting to suffer. I used to do symmetrical art to get out of artblock, but now it seems more likely to put me into one. Sorry if you waited a long time for one, people are free to make their own versions to take my place haha(I've been asked if it's ok a few times). I'm also hoping to get more traditional stuff available soon(I have a table now :) )

Posted 9 years agoHey paisanos, I made a discord server for artists/fans of clay/resin figures/dolls/animatronics and the like. It never occurred to me that I don’t really have any friends that do this stuff lol
I mostly made it cause I have yet to find one specifically for this stuff
https://discord.gg/UW7DrNa
also if u can come up with a better name I'm all ears

Posted 9 years agoSo it turns out we have another month. We decided to stay here since nowhere else had this much space for the same price. Commissions will remain open until the last week of november most likely. We're just moving to the building infront of ours lol.
I've been a bit slow with work cause we were cleaning the apartment for an inspection and it really wore me out :<

Posted 9 years agoI know I've been saying "I'm moving soon" for like the past year but this time we really are(got our notice)
SO
I'll be opening commissions again either monday or tuesday, and possibly making a yard sale if I can
It'll be a bit different, with fixed prices/styles for everything. Yes, I'll be bringing back the 5color things, with a few adjustments. If you have an idea for a themed commission you'd like lemme know! Always up for suggestions!
This all means I'll have to cancel my sculpting project...again ):

Posted 9 years agoI find modeling really relaxing and easier to focus on than 2D stuff but at the same time it takes 2x as long. But then again I don't think I'll get many anyway due to the price tag ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Guess I'll post some details anyway
Models are posted to my sketchfab so no worries about not having a 3d viewer!
prices: 100$-250$+ (The bare minimum would probably be 80$) This is charged by the hour, half the estimate must be paid upfront.
prices vary greatly based on:
what the model is used for
Do you want a model just to look at? or to use in a game/animation?
If you want to have a normal map
this adds high poly detail to a low poly model. While most normal maps add to the price significantly, stuff like patterns/markings can be easily made in photoshop.
If the model needs a rig [Needed for posing]
Simple or complex? Does it need controllers?(applies to Maya users only)
Complexity
Does the character wear clothes/have a lot of accessories?
Along with the above info, please provide:
front/back reference
what you want the final pose to look like(If you choose not to have a rig it will be A-posed)
Email so I can send wips/invoice
Turnaround time is 2-3 weeks depending on how much other work I have. I'm only taking 2 right now

Taking a break
Posted 9 years agoI'll be taking a break from commissions for a week or so to focus on my freelance job, which you can follow here. I had thought taking a bunch of small stuff would be more efficient but it really isn't since i tend to take huge breaks inbetween them ): as always you can still get those super popular 5-6 color doodles via my patreon!
I might still take commissions for big things that take more than a few hours, maybe I'll make some ych's(I finally found the piece of paper with all my sketches)
Also thanks for all the nice comments and stuff! I usually only reply to questions cause I don't really have anything to say in response other than the usual thanks which seems too generic

COMMISSIONS OPEN AGAIN + Waitlist [CLOSED NOW]
Posted 9 years agoTHAT'S IT EVERYONE! If you're really itching to commission some cool psychedelic art, you should commission
JeanWoof or
malkyru
It is that time again! Last time I was only open for a few hours before the list filled so if you really want something don't wait! But if you do miss the chance, you can still get art from me via my pareon. It usually takes a month or so to reopen depending on response time and how much other work I have to do.
Things commissioners should know!
-The rate is 10$/hr. The first 2 must be paid upfront or half the estimate for smaller stuff. You can see some examples and how long they took here
- If you don’t have a paypal account, no worries! You can pay invoices via card!
- I don’t work on weekends.
- Check your email regularly! Turnaround time for 5-6 color doodles are a few hours-2 days after payment. As some who have commissioned me know, I take forever to actually post things online, plus the posted version is smaller.
For 5-6 color doodles:
- These only take about an hr so they're a flat rate of 10$
- pallet/theme is optional, but helps!
- I don't send wips of these unless you ask
- Let me know if you don't want extra arms. In some cases with characters that look better from the side I may give them 2 heads, so let me know if you don't want that!

COMMISSIONS OPEN + other stuff[CLOSED NOW, SORRY]
Posted 9 years agoIf I missed anyone from the last batch I'm sorry! I got so many inquiries and may have missed a few! Feel free to contact me and I'll put you on top!
Don’t worry prices haven’t gone up(if anything they actually went down a bit since the current way I color is faster)
More info here! I’ll be keeping the waiting list in this journal. I’ll close when it reaches 20.

And the other stuff~
I’ve been contemplating how I should handle hourly stuff. The 20$ upfront wouldn’t work so well with more simpler things but I really don’t want to wait until after to get paid(I’ve been left unpaid before). I guess half the estimate would work for smaller stuff?
In other news I jumped on the bandwagon and made aartist welfarePatreon page. Don’t worry it’s not gonna be a paywall or anything like that(unless you count stuff I never planned on finishing/posting anyway), and all rewards 5$+ get you something made just4u every month! If you really like my 5-6 color doodles but don't like waiting, 2$ extra will get you one every month + a fullbody isometrically sketch! Slots are limited!
Some tips on rewards would be really helpful! I looked at a lot of pages to see what others have done and most seem to go for highres/psd files, which I personally don’t think is enough incentive for the price... (most of my psd’s are merged halfway through anyway)

Posted 10 years agoThanks to everyone who inquired!
We may get a 30 day notice any day now so I'll be trying to finish everything before we have to move(We're not getting evicted, they're renovating apartments so we either have to switch to a renovated one or move somewhere else). Most of my stuff is packed but there's still a lot of paper to sort through.
At least the sun finally came back so I'm not too cold to work!

Wowie!! [commission wait list]
Posted 10 years agoThanks for all the recent watches/commission inquiries everyone! I never thought there'd be a time where I would be overwhelmed with work!
That being said, as much as I don't want to, I'll have to temporally close commissions until the queue is near empty. I'll still be taking inquiries and putting them on a waiting list in the meantime.

Upcoming YCH's
Posted 10 years agoSo lately i've been doing alot of 3d stuff to build up a portfolio. Modeling is quite relaxing for me, and the more I do it the less I want to do 2d art(or anything with my tablet), which wouldn't be so much of a issue if i didn't need to use it to texture and detail.
So to get back in the 2d groove I'll be making a couple of psychedelic ych's over the next month. Lots of multiple arms and mythical space scenes to come.
