Nanny Goatmom and Pokemon
Posted 9 years ago"Nanny Goatmom's Purple Puzzle Basement" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhqz0LXyS-4
Felt like making a new journal for the heck of it and wanted to share this sweet remix of Ruins with its' crazy title, haha.
So with the release of Pokemon Sun and Moon my interest in the series has been revitalized. Up until this gen I didn't really care for the multiplayer aspect and found it a bit overwhelming to jump into. The VGC '17 format sounded fairly reasonable though and pretty interesting. I'm going on a breeding frenzy and making some teams for online play and Battle Tree grinding at the moment!
Do any of you peeps plan on doing some online battles? If any of you need some sparring partners for Pokemon Showdown lemme know!

Tips for moving to a new city?
Posted 9 years agoHey there peeps, I was wondering if any of you had tips for moving to a new city. Currently I'm living in a small village with my family but I am trying to move to Vancouver by myself. I've no connections there (just 1 family member that I know about but don't really interact with) and I'd be living by myself.
My plan is to get a remote camp job or some decently paying fulltime job in the city so that I can live somewhat comfortably. I want to get back into Smaash Bros. and make a circle of friends or join one. I also want to get into dating since there's many times more people in the city compared to where I currently am. Ideally I'd be living close by Downtown or Burnaby in a one bedroom apartment or something similar. I don't want any roommates or shared living spaces like basement suites, etc.
Got any tips or suggestions for me? The only obvious thing to me right now is to get into cooking meals for myself. I know that eating out can get quite expensive!

I'll be at Shine Spiked 5 at Abbotsford in 2 weeks!!
Posted 9 years agoI'm heading up to a Smash Bros event with my new crew of friends, we're driving down on Sat. morning! I'm extremely hyped for this, it'll be my first 'real' tournament experience, haha. We play weekly tournies here, but it's all local people, so things are somewhat predictable, and there's no real stakes here. Shine Spiked has a small fee to enter each bracket though, and I'll be going in blind, not knowing how good anyone will be there. My friends and I will be taking 2 minivans, should be 12-14 people coming along.
In other news, my job situation should be improving soon, as I've been working part-time for the past few months when I should have really been trying to get full-time hours. My local fuzzy friend has been talking me up to his manager, which should lead into a job that will get me what I need! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed, haha. I've been commissioning less and less ever since December, but I still get that "must buy art" itch, and it's been really saddening to fight off!

Adorable looking socks that will be created and shipped out in March-ish if the goal is reached! I found it really hard to find any kind of furry related footwear that wasn't a partial fursuit, so this got me excited, haha. The kickstarter will last another 18 days as of posting this, so if you've got any friends or family that need some new socks, send 'em to the kickstarter to check it out! I think it's a pretty decent deal (3 pairs of socks for $25, not incl. shipping).

Posted 9 years agoI am so GOD DAMN EXCITED for the new characters, they all look so unique and amazing! I was clapping like a fool (my hands hurt now though, haha).
February seems so far away, but I think it's a good thing that there will be a wait until the other characters come into the game. This will let us get an in-depth feel for Cloud's place competitively and casually. I'm going to be rocking back and forth waiting for the update and release of Cloud + Midgar, kthxbai.

Life stuff over the past month
Posted 10 years agoLately, I've been playing a bunch of Minecraft with my roomy. We're using this modpack called Aether 2+, its main mods are Aether, Twilight Forest, and Galacticraft! We've been having trouble off and on playing though, last night I couldn't connect to his LAN world just hours after I was playing with him before, so that was weird.
I've been doing my best to go out to the local Smash Bros 4 weekly tournaments at the university near me, and it's been worth it so far! The highest I've placed is 3rd after having a very close Loser's Finals. There's been tons of fun friendlies in between games, and I'm enjoying everyone's company there. I wish my roomies would come out with me though, they're not competitive at all.
Work has been going so-so, not doing bad or anything but just getting less hours than I'd hoped for. This week I was supposed to have 15 hours and next week I'd have 10 hours, on a minimum wage job, so I decided to let my manager know that I'd be looking for more work soon. He understood and told me to let him know if I get another part-time job or full-time so he can work with me to make a proper schedule, and even gave me 12 more hours this week and next. I'll take that as a sign that they want me around still, haha.
Not a whole lot coming up for the end of my year, just work work smash smash and have fun with my friends. I'll be trying out this mobile game called Valkyrie Crusade that my roomy has been playing, and see what it's about. It's an anime style card-game/"mini-farm" game, meaning it's like farmville with basic TCG elements to it. I enjoy the art of the cards and how it's not pestering you to do micro-transactions. There's also daily rewards for posting to social media through the app, but you can edit the text and not even mention the app itself while doing the posts, haha.

Sometime in the past year or two, she was diagnosed with cancer. Despite that she continued to work as hard as she could to give art to her commissioners, even going as far as to draw in the hospital after her chemotherapy sessions! She had a child with her husband during her fight with cancer, and he was a miracle. Kyte is just as hard of a fighter as her momma! Her husband has tried his best to continue working over the years to support his new family.
Kandis, you taught me how to be a better client. Kandis, you showed me just how stubborn and optimistic a person can be. Kandis, you will always inspire me for the rest of my life to continue fighting.
Rest in peace, Kandis Renee Whalon.
New job, and OMG NEW DLC FOR SMASH
Posted 10 years agoSo on Friday, I had an interview at Whitespot for Dishwasher and got hired on the spot! Things are going smoothly, I've had 2 shifts so far and am going to get around 25-30 hours each week. It's not as optimal or consistent as I'd like it to be though, I'll also be trained for Prep work and organizing grocery truck orders. Spoilers are incoming in case you want the new DLC to be a surprise!
Literally just moments ago, Nintendo announced a Super Mario Maker stage that's landing on Sept. 30th. The stage will be randomized every time you play it, and looks pretty amazing for casual play! I'm pretty stoked, as this could mean some more goodies DLC wise. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I won't get my hopes up, haha.

AniRev 2015 was amazing!
Posted 10 years agoThis past weekend, I was down in Vancouver for Anime Revolution 2015, a convention celebrating Japanese culture and anime. This year, it was jam packed with guests like KOTOKO and the voice of Megurine Luka, and other Japanese guests, along with notable English guests like Sugar Lyn from YTV, and Dean Redman, a returning Master of Ceremonies for AniRev.
The first day, I cosplayed for at least half of it as Mega Lopunny! I only got asked to take 1 picture, though, but I still call it a success! All I needed was one person telling me it was cute or awesome, haha. Speaking of which, one of the volunteer staff saw me twice and said "*Gasp* Cute bunny!" and did a little squee motion, haha. It was pretty sweet!
The costume looked great to me, but it was very hard to wear. The slippers that were made have no soles, so I was feeling the hard cement floor wherever I walked around. It was also very warm, I was sweating as if I'd just finished running somewhere! After deciding to finally take it off for the day, I walked around Artist Alley and checked out the artists there in hopes of getting some sweet commissions. I recognized 3 tables returning and commissioned them once more, bought some others from cool looking people and basically just dilly dallied for the rest of the day.
Day two, I played in the Smash Bros for Wii U tourney! It took up most of the day, probably running until like 6 or something, but I ended up dropping out at around 2 because I needed to pick up commissions. I made it into top 32, just barely, out of the 64 players that day. It was great, got my butt whooped half of my games, died by quick dropping to my doom and losing a match for that, and getting some great reads on my other opponents. Dr. Mario is my main, by the way! That night, there was the Swimming Suit Contest, an 18+ panel where people cosplay characters in bikinis and speedos. It was entertaining to watch, there was the winner of last year's contest, a Wario cosplayer, that actually came in second this time around losing only slightly to a Rei who performed with an Asuka (I think from Evangalion?). That night, my friends and I hit up the EXP Bar and Restaurant for a late dinner and a drink. I had my first alcoholic beverage, a mix called the Cherry Blaster! It tasted exactly like a Sour Cherry Blaster candy, and it was pretty good.
Day 3, it was gaming and waiting! I played some friendlies in Smash, played my new card game called Tanto Cure Vacation, and just wasted some time until the closing ceremonies. It was an awesome way to end the weekend, all the volunteers who weren't busy at the time gave everyone walking down the aisles to their seats high fives and saying "congratulations" or "thank you!", etc. It was really heart warming, and made me feel good! I actually got to go up on the stage and personally thank the staff who called me cute in my Lopunny costume, and almost cried saying it, haha. It meant a lot to me because I thought in the back of my head that it might look ridiculous.
I hope that next year I'll be able to go, but I might skip it to make sure I can go as planned with my friends to a convention in America! We'll have to see. I would also like to hit up a furry con next year, but my plans are tentative.
I'll be uploading some digital commissions I got over the past month, and if I can find a scanner will upload the convention commissions as well!

Anime Revolution 2015, this weekend!
Posted 10 years agoI'm heading down to AniRev with my room mates again this year, and will be cosplaying as Mega Lopunny! I'll upload an image of myself in a minute in the costume, so if you see me there please feel free to ask for a hug or for a picture!
I'm so excited, haha. I've been waiting all year for this, I bought my VIP ticket back in December. I couldn't be happier, I'm going down with 6 other friends! This will be by far the biggest group I've went to a con with.
Since I'll be at the convention, response will be a bit slow in case you needed to contact me for any info!

Catching up on uploads today + My thoughts on new Smash leak
Posted 10 years agoSo for the past couple of months, it's been a combination of me moving and my laziness that stopped me from uploading my new commissions, haha. I'll be uploading what I can throughout the day and hopefully will be able to keep them in chronological order.
[[Don't read past here if you don't want Smash 4 spoilers!!!]]
So, today SmashJP announced a patch coming Friday, with these things they said officially:
New Mii Fighter costumes including a Smash hoodie, Chrom head and costume, and King K Rool head and costume. Re-made Smash 64 stages, Hyrule Temple and Peach's Castle are coming back. Tournament mode is finally being released!
Some people, somehow, leaked images of potentially 2 more new stages on top of the ones previously announced:
Dr. Mario stage and Termina Bay.
My thoughts? Dr. Mario stage sorta looks fake, while I can buy into Termina Bay. The reason being is that it sort of makes sense for Termina Bay to be on the 3DS (which was the game they were running it on when they took a picture), because it's so small and a little chaotic iirc from my Melee days. They have Majora's Mask 3D, so why not roll out this stage as well?
Dr. Mario's stage, while it does have more images, looks fake to me because it's just...ugly and gross. It looks like it was easily shopped (the textures on the background and stages), and the images they provided of the music select and stage select screens didn't look right. There was around 4 different remixes of the same song basically (Dr. Mario, medley, title select, Dr. Luigi), and the placing on the stage select screen was sort of off and was missing Termina Bay.
Who knows what's going to be in the game next, anything can happen really, haha. I'm looking forward to seeing if Nintendo will put more new fighter related files in this patch, or if they learned to keep it on the down low!

Smash leaks...YES. VERY YES.
Posted 10 years agoWARNING, MAJOR SPOILERS IN CASE YOU DON'T WANT ANY.
So I guess the new patch just hit Japan last night, and my lord did it really happen. Just take a look at these two videos, they're each 7 seconds long:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8Jjz-V8jE4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nmo6rFJDFsA
There's a French website that dumped all of the new info from the new patch, including some more Mii Fighter DLC costumes, the new stage accompanying the new character, all of the new sound files to come with the stages and characters, and all of the new trophies.
Whst's your thoughts? Are you super duper hyped again, since we're getting more than just Lucas? I personally was skeptical about this when the speculation was going around, and thought that maybe Nintendo was screwing with us....but apparently it was legit all along! I might just have to believe in them a little bit more now, haha.

WHY...WHY IS THERE A SONIC BOOM 2 COMING OUT???
Posted 10 years agohttp://ca.ign.com/articles/2015/06/.....r-nintendo-3ds
All I can do is facepalm...at least it looks more like a Sonic game this time.
Also, 'new' playable character Amy made me laugh so hard. She was available from the beginning of the first game for crying out loud! The new character is Sticks, you fools. Did no one realize it when they made the trailer!?
