So, it's been over a week since I've moved into the new house with my friends, and I'm all settled in now! Having some fun, it feels like I never moved away from them, haha. I also ended up meeting a furry in real life for the first time, and she seems awesome! Hoping I can be friends with her.

Currently I'm on employment insurance until I can find a job, and will be looking around sooner than later. There's a lot of fast food places that are looking, but I want to try and avoid that if possible, haha. Hopefully I could try and find something different, I've yet to work as a cashier or something like that.

So later this year, I'll be going to Anime Revolution! I have two cosplays planned out, one of them is complete and the other is in progress right now. I'll post pictures when both are ready! I may or may not have a Mewtwo partial ready by then, it wouldn't be anything more than tail and ears though. After that, I don't know what I might be doing later in the year. Just have fun, and enjoy the change of scenery. I'm a lot closer to Vancouver than I was before, so it's going to be easier to go to cons and whatnot whenever I want to basically. I'm hoping that next year I can go to a furry convention for the first time!

I'm back from my trip, and will be working my butt off to pack until Thursday, when I move in with two of my best friends. May or may not have internet right away, but I'll be here off and on until Thursday afternoon.

Pretty exciting, this will be my first time in a city, haha.

So, after reading that the Smash servers were doing some live maintenance last night until 1am, and not getting the code for my downloads yet, I decided to sleep instead of trying to stay up and wait for Mewtwo. Good thing I did, because I only just got the codes at 5am, haha.

He plays just like you'd expect him to, and is pretty fun! The bigger changes that I could notice is that he seems much heavier than in Melee, and a few minor changes to certain attacks. For example, the dash attack while holding an item was changed from striking multiple times in Melee to just a single strike like all other fighters in Smash 4. His Shadow Ball does not attack constantly when enemies are standing near you. Confusion launches you forward when you use it in the air, and has a bigger particle effect. They increased/added the meteor effect to his down air!

All in all, I don't think he's going to shake up the competitive scene, and will mostly be ignored like he was in Melee. He can wreck, but it's so hard to combo since all of his moves launch just a bit too much (I could only find one combo with him, and it's low %). Either way, he's great and I'll definitely play him a lot, can't wait to see if they patch in some Custom Moves!

I work until the 30th, and then it's time to say sayonara. The camp I work at is slowing down, and getting ready for the shut down in about 5 months. I knew this was going to happen soon, since these kinds of projects always have an end date. I'm hoping to move on and move out of town within a month or so and stay with one of my best friends, haha. Going to wait for EI, and my tax return for enough money to last a little while and then move out when my friend is ready.

Getting laid off was probably the best choice I could make. I went to talk about how little work I was getting, and was told that I could never get fulltime hours so long as I was a transfer employee. They're still overstaffed and will start laying people off sooner rather than later, and I don't feel comfortable waiting for call-in shifts, haha. They gave me the choice of taking a lay off, sticking it out and waiting for calls and scheduled days, or even getting laid off but still on the on-call list. But I want to cut my ties, and finally move out of this town.

I've been looking here and there for prices of fursuits and am starting to wonder if I should just jump right into it or not. I love the idea of it, but don't have any experience that comes close to full body costumes, haha.

So recently, I've been playing a lot of Fallout: New Vegas and got into modding. I noticed there was a fair amount of mods that were pony related, stuff that references Fallout: Equestria, or even a DJ Pony radio station that had a ton of really neat music.

When the whole MLP boom started some years back, I didn't like any of it, and couldn't really ignore it since it was everywhere I went. But in the past year, I was like "Why do I try to avoid this?". So eventually, I started to take a peek at more and more MLP art, specifically anthro stuff like Kevinsano and Freckles stuff. Now I'm okay with it, and want to understand what's so good about the show.

Where should I start with the show? Just jump right into the beginning, or does it not really require too much investment?

So yesterday, my manager pulled me into her office to discuss my schedule. I thought it was gonna be something bad or "expect more of what you've been getting", a.k.a. very little, haha. But she asked me if I was okay with getting two additional days per week, which made me pretty happy. The gist of what's been happening in the past 2 months is that I was scheduled for 2 days a week, covering one of my co-workers days off, and getting the short end of the deal. But around 2-3 weeks ago, one of the morning shift dishwashers took sick leave for a surgery and recovery for an undetermined amount of time. This turned into me being called in for a few days, then being scheduled in his place having 2-4 days a week instead of the 2 that I was getting before. So now it looks like I'll be getting close to a normal work week finally, which hasn't happened since I started working at this camp, haha. I've only been making 1/3 or 1/2 of what I was making before I was laid off of my last job, which has put a wrench in my plans to save up for Anime Revolution 2015. I can finally start putting money away for it, since I was left not all that much after bills.

So the village I live in is Kitimaat Village, a 10-15 minute drive from Kitimat City. On Thursday, snow fall was terrible and persisted until Saturday afternoon. The snow fall first did damage by taking out several trees which in turn took out several power lines. Snow plows worked around the clock in both the city and village, working to keep main roads open and try to stay on top of the snowfall. On the village side of things, power went out at 10pm on Thursday. The power has yet to come back on, so what the community ended up doing on Saturday was gather everyone in the community gymnasium to cook some pots of meat stew. On Sunday morning, today at 5am, the village and city were connected for the first time in 3 days with a single lane of road open for an evacuation. Over 50 trees had fallen over the course of the weekend, and there were 3 crews working in unison trying to clear the road, then trees, and then get to the power. The city has power, but the village is still without power. There's a diesel generator working in the community gymnasium with power, heat, a functioning kitchen, and running water. In town the power is restored to most places, and street roads are finally being cleared. The community gymnasium here is open to people evacuating from the village, and as an emergency shelter for anyone that might not have power food or water.

I feel like I was in the beginning of an apocalypse movie, this whole experience has been awful.

Power has been out since 10pm last night, may not be on until 4pm or tomorrow even. There's 5 feet of snow in front of our driveway, doesn't even look like we shoveled at all even though we did 2 hours ago.

The road is closed off to town. I hate Canada sometimes, haha.

So as it stands right now, I'm a General Helper in a local camp, working 2 days a week. My mom just sent off my resume to a camp in Edmonton that is looking for more General Helpers, offering $15/hr 2 weeks in 2 weeks off with travel expenses and room and board included.

I'm hoping I can get this, it's going to be a lot better than pay-wise than my current situation. 1 or 2 days worth of pay, I might as well not be working, haha.

I've got two codes that I won't/can't use, haha. I'm not really interested in the series, and I don't have the space for it on my SD card. First come first serve I guess, I'll note whoever is interested. Just comment below!

I know I'm getting ahead here with the journal, but I'm curious already, haha. For me, this has been a good year, one of the better ones. I lived with two of my best friends for the first quarter, got a job for 2.5x minimum wage, and went to Anime Revolution 2014 with the besties I was living with. I've been spending money like it's going to disappear each payday, haha. I haven't had much experience with having a good income before, so I don't have any restraint, especially since I don't have too many bills yet asides from rent and cell phone.

The biggest downers this year was bugs. I had a bed bug problem, and scabies (which is still showing symptoms). I couldn't work for like, half the year, and had to distance myself from my friends until I was healed. The only other major bad thing that's happened this year is lack of internet ever since I moved in with my parents again. We live in the village now, and the internet is garbage. 15-45kb/s...dial-up would be a faster option if it were available. Before we got this service about a month ago, we had no internet for a month, and before that we were leeching off of a neighbours open network which has roughly the same speed as we do now. I can't keep up with anime any longer, and have to watch Youtube videos on 144p quality, which I did not know was a thing until a few weeks ago.

I'm looking forward to 2015 in hopes that I'll be able to move in with one of my besties again, or just see them more often since we've all moved to different towns. I'm ecstatic about going to Anime Revolution 2015, especially since it will be the first time I'll cosplay as well, haha.

Kaeko is one of the few artist friends I have on the site, she worked with me frequently when I started out in the fandom a few years back. Over the years, she's had many ups and downs, but mostly downs. She constantly got sick, she had to fear every day in a crime-infested neighborhood, worked many many hours at her post office job, and very recently became diagnosed with cancer. At the same time, her newlywed husband found out that she was pregnant (at the same time of the diagnosis), and some tough decisions were made.

I plan to start making regular donations starting in a few weeks, since she has been nothing but great to me, her clients, and her watchers.

On Wednesday, I finally started working again! I got on at the other local camp, as a Supplementary General Helper (meaning I'm indefinitely on call). I won't be on the schedule for a while, probably, and next month the camp closes down for Christmas break. So I'll be working for a couple of weeks, then off and hopefully back on again!

I also found out earlier in the week that we'll be getting home internet on Tuesday, finally. The only downside is that there's a 30GB data limit each month.

Things are looking better and better, haha. On top of all this good news, there's even better news. Next month, my Native Band Council will be giving its adult members $3k for living adjustments, so my parents and I are going to do some Christmas Shopping in Prince George. This money has perfect timing, because shortly after we get it, the camp closes down and I'll be out of income for a while.

So last Monday, I went into work thinking it was gonna be a great day. About 10 mins before my shift starts, I get brought to the front office with the big boss, my union rep, and my supervisor. They tell me there's a shortage of work, and unfortunately they had to cut back some more on employees, so they chose me. I was offered to get transferred to the other local camp, but I said it would be difficult since this is the only one that provides transportation. So far, I haven't done too much at all since the news, but I have been talking with the Human Resources worker to get back my job, since she thought something was fishy about it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but won't get my hopes up about it, haha.


I've been looking at getting more cosplay items, and noticed something when I started doing some searching. I kept looking at cat outfits (some of which are totally adorable), and found that if any of them included paws, it was only the gloves, and no slippers/shoes/footwear paws. Is there somewhere I can buy them? I did some quick searching on Etsy, Amazon, and eBay, but I get the feeling that there's a better site to buy cosplay stuff. If I do buy anything in the future, I think my only option would be fursuit partials for feet.
