An ex-classmate from elementary...
Posted 10 years ago..who annoyed me throughout 9 years (calling me baby or girl) and I punched in the face in 9th grade...
...just called at our phone this evening after 8 years.
Then the worst of my asperger kicked in.
He was being friendly but my damn brain wasn't able to process a single attempt at sociabilization. I was like uhhh all the time.

Posted 10 years agoWas supposed to mention this 4 hours ago and forgot.
To those two I'm trading with, I'm still sketching and trying to stick to an idea. But I can absolutely guarantee that I'll do my parts.
And here's some filler music:

New desktop PC
Posted 10 years agoGot it 3 days ago for like $430.
AsRock H61M-VG3 motherboard
Intel Core i3-3250 @ 3.5ghz (quad-core)
4GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics (1760MB according to dxdiag, but not sure how many real MBs)
464GB SATA HDD
Realtek integrated audio and ethernet, as usual in modern PCs.
Also came with PS/2 keyboard, USB mouse, shitty speakers and no monitor. My LED TV covers up the last two elements. An almost new Genius PS/2 mouse is being used to save an USB port. And had to buy a tiny TP-LINK USB Wi-Fi adapter since our router modem is located two rooms away from my bedroom.
The store gave me the option to install the OS for me but I preferred to use my downloaded copy of W7 Ultimate x64 + anti-WGA loader.
My only complaints are the lack of integrated HDMI and that the motherboard only got two PCI slots (smal + regular sized) though I have no plans for upgrades ATM. It runs games twice as fast as my Satellite L505D-SP6014L, which got fixed a month ago, only to fail again in 3 weeks. Yep, no more unreliable laptop and ultra-slow netbook.

Back online.
Posted 10 years agoIt's been a whole month, but we've signed again with the same ISP after failing to migrate. Time to catch up with the thousands of submissions to fav and hundreds of old journals to read (or just ignore and delete right away if most of them are commission related). That's gonna suck hard.

Don't worship someone just because you think they draw well.
It doesn't mean they're a good person.
It doesn't give them the right to treat people like shit.
Don't measure your own self worth by how well you can draw. It's honestly not that useful a skill as far as things like that go.
Don't measure your own self worth by whether people commission you or not. People with amazing art often make nothing. People with less than amazing art can inexplicably do quite well.
Don't feel you need to be a commission artist. You are just fine the way you are. You don't need to draw for money to "be someone" in this fandom. You DON'T need to be someone in fandom.
Not everyone is well suited to this. Art is a stressful hobby to have on the internet because there will always be a thousands people better than you. Taking money for art is also stressful. Just because you do amazing art doesn't mean you'll be a good commission artist. It takes social skills, time management skills, drive, patience and organization. Being good at drawing doesn't mean someone has these other skills.
If you like to draw, draw. If you like to run a business, take commissions. "Failing" to do either of these things "well" is fine. You're still awesome.
There are lots of people in this fandom creating things. Some take money for their skills, but not all artists are required to. It's perfectly acceptable and in many cases preferable that some artists only create for themselves and their viewers and don't take commissions. There are lots of people in this fandom who, instead of creating things themselves, support the artists that do either financially or through commenting words of encouragement.
All of those roles are equally important to this fandom. One is not better than the other. None give special privileges to be excused from behaving appropriately or adhering to proper social conduct.
Don't forget this.

How bad I feel for those leaving this site and wiping their submisions, only to return in a matter of weeks or months because they couldn't get attention in other sites and might regret having to redo their galleries here.

Posted 10 years agoHave some of my favourite racing games.
Need For Speed II SE: Fond memories of that morning of 1997 with my dad setting up our then new Pentium II PC, hearing Windows 95's startup sound repeatedly, and getting to play this beloved classic.
Runs either via Glide or DirectDraw. Apparently, many players of this game didn't seem to care about the higher levels of difficulty given by simulation mode & expert opponents. And The glitchy sound heard in this video is caused by Windows 7, though there's a trick to fix this. Interested?
Battle Gear 2 a.k.a. Tokyo Road Race: One of those games Initial D fans might enjoy. First developed for arcades, then ported to PS2.
Really, it would've been cool if the Takahashi bros ever got a taste of Bunta's son-owning skills.
And these other two go dedicated to certain someone.
San Francisco Rush (The Rock: Alcatraz Edition, mostly): One of Atari Games' last memorable arcade cabinet racers, never got a perfect home port. It either sucked (PSX), looked almost on par with the arcade version but had rearranged sounds and music (MAT3 & the Glide-only PC port), or these were in their place and the overall game had been cut down (N64), thus needing a decent PC for emulation via MAME.
MAT3 port for GameCube shown, with user-made arcade sound mod.
Daytona USA 2: The classic Daytona USA with more macho. Never got a home port of any sort.
Power Edition ran via Supermodel emulator shown here.

So, happy new year.
Also, happy that someone from Japan finally posted this rare song to YouTube:
