I am, in fact, still here.
Posted 7 years agoHi!
I haven't posted anything at all on here in, well, a hell of a long time. For a variety of reasons, but mostly because my writing drive has skewed towards the SFW, and I host that elsewhere. But for a variety of reasons I think I'll be getting back into the porn writing game soon! And regardless you can always follow me on my Twitter account, which is maybe 75% porn RTs, 15% kinky ideas, and 10% kinky shitposting.

coming up on </year><year date="2018">
Posted 7 years agoWOW NERD JOKE
2017 was the year I came out, first to myself and then to everyone else. I haven't gotten my legal name changed yet since my state doesn't yet support nonbinary genders (I'm a girl-ish but I'd rather just have a nonbinary ID; it's Complicated) but that doesn't matter!
2017 was also the year I started actually writing porn with girls in it. This is not a coincidence, of course.
Speaking of which, the robot story I posted to scraps is on the back burner in favor of a SFW-ish story about a trans witch and a knight! I'm probably going to post it on itch.io but I'll post a journal here when I'm done with a link. I still want to finish the robot story, though. Because robots are cool. Speaking of which, I got this cool robot drawing!
I also met lots of cool people IRL (nobody who's super-active on here, I don't think).
To-do for 2018:
* get some cool dragongirl/sharkgirl art
* write more!
* maybe try learning to draw???

so it's literally been nine months huh
Posted 8 years agomany things have happened! not all of which are really relevant. but the big one is: i'm a girl! like vyke is still a character that exists and he's still a dragon dude but me, the person-playing-the-character, is a girl. naming is complicated but i think you can call me astra for now. it's not my 'real' name but i've always been in favor of collecting lots of different names
if you call me a dickgirl or a herm or a tranny whatever i'm going to be very annoyed with you, and if you keep doing it i'm going to do whatever internet equivalent of shutting the door in your face is available to me. this goes for any characters in any porn that i write (which, I am sort-of-working-on-something, so stay tuned). i understand that it's a common label for porn characters because wow furries are bad at gender (f-list's lists 'transgender' as a separate gender? seriously?) but it's not one that i enjoy being applied to me or the things i identify with unless i trust the person using the label to not be shit about it. words that i'm fine with are 'trans' and 'transgender'
anyway that's all, hopefully i'll have some writing done in the next indeterminate amount of time. stay weird.

Writing style
Posted 9 years agoOne thing I noticed is that I tend to omit a lot of descriptions of physical things in my writing, like what things look like or sound like and so on. Instead I tend to focus more on actions: what people are doing, how they're thinking, and so on. But I also tend to do a lot of telling and not showing, skipping dialog (except for Reality Malfunction, which is nothing but dialog) and the like.
On the one hand, it's kind of a bad habit, maybe? But I think it falls out of the fact that when I'm reading stuff, whether it's porn or pulp-y fiction or serious stuff, I usually can't get a good mental picture of what people look like. So I sort of skim descriptions anyway because it's not like I'm going to remember what color hair the main character has anyway. Plus, at least with porn, the more vague it is the more the reader can insert themselves into whatever role they want.
I dunno. I might try to change that with whatever I write next, focus more on appearances.

God Paypal annoys me.
Posted 9 years agoI really want to get absolute tons of commissions but 99% of the artists on here only take Paypal and I don't want to give out my RL name to someone just because I want to pay them money to draw weird sexy fetish art. And I could sign up with a fake name but then I'd have to get a new phone/phone number and.... agh. It's dumb and I can't think of anything to do besides 'hey I'll buy you $X worth of stuff on Steam' which relies on the artist actually, you know, wanting stuff on Steam.
Mini-NaNoWriMo update ONE MORE FINAL: I need you.
Posted 10 years agoFinal count: 7769/10000 (less a little bit because of story metadata). Oh well. I mean, I *could* try to blast through the remaining 2.2k in the next two hours, but that's just not happening. I kind of got distracted the last week.
On the upside, I did manage to actually post something, which is nice! And I'm probably 3/4 of the way done with this other story, and I've got the beginnings of the sequel to Guardian. It's about 7769 words more than I would've written otherwise. I think I might try to set a goal for myself to write something small each day, maybe just a hundred words or so (more on the weekends?).

Mini-NaNoWriMo update #3
Posted 10 years agoI wound up changing the plot of the story I was working on significantly, both to fix plot holes and because the tone didn't fit what I was trying to tell and having to rewrite about half of it, which kind of sucked; progress stalled out for a while until I decided to take some of the old ideas and put them in a new story.
4039+1750=5789 out of 7000 expected. Might be able to catch up some over the holiday break, depending on motivation and inspiration and other such things.
EDIT: 4039+2923=6952. GOOD ENOUGH. That counts stuff like metadata like the title because of how my new authoring process works, but eh.

Posted 10 years ago3910 done out of 5500 expected. Bleh.
The more I work on this the less I find myself able to perform the necessary 'suspension of moral disbelief' that I'd need to write a story involving non-consensual hypnosis where the hypnotist is portrayed as morally good (and I don't want to write the AI here as being bad), so the story probably isn't going to actually have any kind of hypnosis stuff after all. Which is funny, all things considered.

Mini-NaNoWriMo update #1
Posted 10 years agoAt something like 1.8k/10k words because I slacked off the past couple days. Oops.
A decent amount of this, maybe all of it, is going to go into one big story idea I have. I'm not sure how big the entire thing is going to be in the end but I'm figuring maybe... 6k? I'm not sure how much of what I've written is actually necessary considering it's all a prelude to the actual sexy things. Not sure if I want to publish it all at once or break it up into parts.

OK SO
Posted 10 years agoNanowrimo is starting soon and while there's no way I'm going to write a novel or even write 50,000 words of porn I'm going to use this as an excuse. Let's go for... I dunno, 10,000 words of weird kinky fetish writing.
aaaa what is motivation
Posted 10 years agoI have ideas for stuff I want to write like [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] (I'm not saying what they are because doing so will rob me of what little motivation I have) but I can never seem to get myself to actually /write/ and when I do I just wind up hating everything that I write down. I have no clue how to fix this.
I ought to get an icon.
Posted 10 years agoBut I have no art of my character(s) (well aside from that one picture but it's old as hell, I don't even know the artist name any more), and I don't feel like commissioning one at the moment.

Posted 10 years agoSo. I should probably come up with some characters/backgrounds/ideas so I don't just keep writing the same story of 'protagonist tries to steal from/kill/otherwise defeat antagonist, winds up hypnotized without them realizing it, antagonist brainwashes and transforms them into a servant, epilogue where protagonist is using their newfound powers' over and over and over again. (It's a good story, though!)
I also ought to come up with a persistent universe one of these days (something sci-fi because I adore sci-fi settings) so that I can actually have characters as opposed to fictional names and forms for myself, even if I do wind up making my self-insert/fursona/whatever a character in that setting.
