It's fun. and I have characters, and I've already made up RP backgrounds for them. XD Anyway, if you want to play with me I am on the Siropas server, channel 4

So, I really want to get into another MMO, but I want people to play with. I would go back to WoW but I wicked can't afford it (hopefully if kigurumi commissions go well that could change).
For now though I need something free, and something I can play with people I know, or sorta know from here or elsewhere.

I've played Trickster, and while I enjoyed it at first, I really got tired of digging, so I might be up to go back, but I'd like to avoid it if possible.

I've also played Perfect World, and enjoyed it as long as my boyfriend was playing with me, but since he lost interest and none of my friends play I sort of abandoned it. I wouldn't mind playing again if I had more people to play with.

I really like to RP as my character, so that's a plus if you do too, and I prefer games that have good avatars or customization (I won't even play Maple Story as the characters are hideous).

So if anyone plays some MMOs let me know what you play and maybe we could play together.

So, my boyfriend wants to commission some lovey dovey squishy cuteness artwork of the two of us, but he doesn't use FA or any social internet sites so he doesn't know which artists are out there and what they offer, so he told me to find some good artists for him to look at.

Our budget is about 50$ and we'll be wanting clean artwork (will probably hang in a common area so it can't be nudey face). It will be two characters, I don't know about a background, probably at least a simple one (like a splash of color at least). His character is a Snow Leopard, and I'm not sure which form he wants to use of my fursona.

So, we're looking for recommendations of people who are open for commissions and to see a sample or two (yes you can recommend yourself :P).

Art is an intelligent mind without the discipline to go into the sciences. Every time I hear someone truly intelligent speak about the science behind our existence I am filled with an utter awe, not just the individual speaking, but for the sheer vastness and creativity of nature. The fact that you can not only comprehend that we are all connected, but to also know exactly in which ways we are physical connected, and understanding those connections. Being in the presence of these people, or merely seeing them through third party communication like the internet, television, or audio fills me with more inspiration than any artist has. I enjoy the works of other artists, but my inspiration for my non-furry work is all inspired by those who are considered some of the greatest minds of our times.

Unfortunately, I have fallen into a trap. My furry art has gotten me some notoriety among the fandom, and I relish in the attention. I am a beast who thrives on attention. That's why I went into acting, there is no greater high than to showcase myself either in my art or on stage and have people clapping for me, jealous of me, celebrating my work and ideas, and I thrive on it. I need it. I want more than anything to be a celebrated genius, it means nothing if people don't know or appreciate my work. Within the fandom so long as I continue to do furry work, especially if it has dicks in it, I will continually be praised, but this work has become less about my ideas, and more about what people want to see. People praise me for giving them what they want, not because I had a really good idea. Then the second I do in fact do something off of my own ideas they go completely ignored. This causes distress and depression, especially if I consider it to be a work of a much higher calibre than most of my furry work, especially when it concerns having much more god damned MEANING than my furry pieces. So I go back to giving the people what they want, so I can continue to feel validated in my work. This is a repeated process.

I need to escape this if I am ever to succeed in the art world, at least in the way that I want to. I need to find a way to put myself into a position to share my artwork with people other than furry fans and anime fans. People who appreciate art for art sake, not just people who want to see art representative of whatever gets their jollies off. But where is this place? I need to find a way to communicate with artists who hold themselves to a higher calibre than just getting asspats from furfags. I know some of these people exist within the fandom, but these people are also quite educated, and I am ashamed of my lack of high education in art, and too nervous to speak to these people. Which leads me to believe that I should get myself into an art school as soon as possible, if not for the instruction than for the connections I could stand to make. But is it worthwhile to sign up for the art institutes here? In nowhere Sacramento. Or should a push and find any way necessary to get down to the bay area and apply for schools there. I'm just so afraid of failure. My parents are cutting me off, which is expected, they have been paying my way longer than they should have, but my history with employment is quite scary to comprehend without a safety net. I go through jobs rather quickly, I've been fired for a few things which are symptoms of I problem I need to remember to get checked for, but not remembering to do things and getting distracted is another symptom of the same problem. I'm so worried that I'll end up homeless with no where to go if I leave Sacramento. Really that fear is what keeps me here. This fear keeps me up at night, crying. A part of me desperately wishes that I could just be, fuck it, the only way to know is to try, but the repercussions of failure are great.

Back to the point, I have wanted to go into the sciences longer than I have wanted to go into art. Only until I realized that I have a very hard time with Math, which pretty much killed my dreams of science did I latch onto another dream. Although I would be more than happy to live my life being an artist, the thought that I could show my mind off better if I was a scientist, and I still have wild fancies of up and changing my major, but fear that I will fail horribly on account of my mathematical handicap has prevented me from even trying.

I've been thinking about this quite a bit, and I think I logical conclusion would be to combine my love science and the great geniuses of our time and my artwork. I'm still refining exactly, how to do that. But I have a few ideas. Continue to push myself in artistic study and exploration, but keep my scientific interests happy by studying and reading on my own time, maybe take a class or two at JC. At least, that is the current forecast, plans my grow or change as time goes on. WOuldn;t it be amazing to illustrate for a scientific textbook?

Another thing I have wanted to address and make myself think about has already been mentioned above, but I want to call attention to it. I started drawing for my own reasons, my best friend was good at drawing, it was something fun to do, and it made me feel good. But somewhere along the line it became less about making the art what felt good, to the attention I get from producing art. The whole time I'm coloring an image, I'm usually thinking about how people are going to react once I post it. This is a problem as it contributes to the furry trap a discussed earlier. I have tried simply not posting, but I desperately need to know what people think about something, and again when I post it and no one says anything or looks at it I get the same level of distress, and the begin showing it to people deliberately and asking for feedback. I would like to not have the be so reliant on this, but on the other hand, how do I know if I am doing well?

How do you know when you are good enough to be put in a gallery. I would like to start drawing/illustrating things that would be suitable for sale to the general public and not just furries. But how do you go about getting your work into a gallery in the first place? I'd like to know that, then go gallery shopping downtown and see which ones would be most likely to take my art, but not until after I have a decent portfolio.

I'm also going to not be doing as much furry art, and if people stop watching me because of that, I'll accept that.

Can we get some more genders besides masculine and feminine up in here?

Neither of them really work for me really, and I think we could do with some variety.


Like, I really hate choosing. I really don't feel comfortable saying I'm female in any other context than in reference to what falls between my legs, and even then I have some issues with that too. But I don't feel like I could really pass for a male either, and thus I feel like I'm in this position of flux. Fluctuating gender identity and expression, which I wouldn't mind so much, but no one really knows what to make of me.

Take my boyfriend for example, I know he knows I have some gender identity issues, and really like to be referred to as androgynous and loves me anyway, but I don't know what he would do if I actually started binding again. I sorta have been wanting to, but I'm kinda afraid of what he might think. Or what others might think. Not to say that my friends wouldn't start referring to me with male pronouns if I asked them to, but what do you refer to someone who's gender is in flux? Who will be feminine one day, but masculine the next?

I mean, I feel comfortable with male pronouns, and feel alright with female pronouns, and I really don;t have big qualms over whether people use he or she. I just... Well, maybe that's not accurate. What I should say is I don't care if people "mistakenly" refer to me as "he". It sort of makes me happy, I think. It's a hard feeling to explain.

Can I just be a "he" who happens to have lady parts and on rare occasions dresses like a pretty lady, usually for sexual reasons? Is that possible?

I know I'm probably going to get some sort of flack for posting this here, but I wanted to get the opinions of some of my friends who don't have live journal, and only have FA or Facebook, and I don't feel comfortable posting this on Facebook due to reasons of having professional contacts and colleagues in my acting life on there.

So, I had a pretty somber morning today. Zigg called me on my way home from driving my mother to work (so I could borrow her car for the day) and said that he found an injured squirrel on his way home from work and didn't know what to do. So I said i would call animal control and call him back. So I tried calling animal control and was put on hold. Stayed on hold for maybe ten-fifteen minutes. Still no answer. So I called him back and said they didn't answer. He said he'd feel bad if we just left it, what should we do? So I tell him I'll come over there with a box. I get two pairs of latex gloves, a good sized box and one of my ratty old towels and drive over to where he was. We find the squirrel and put on the gloves and we pick him up. He tries to get away but we suspect his paw was injured and he couldn't move very well. He started squeeking out for another squirrel, we tried to get it to the other squirrel but a dog barking scared it away (we suspect the dog is what got to this squirrel). So we place it gently in the box and it nestles into the towel and calms down a bit. We get it home, and I see to getting it some water in a little dish while Zigg tries to get a hold of Animal Control or SPCA. Still we get no response, and the squirrel has come to a little bit and has started calling out again. So I pick him up again to inspect his injuries and I see that the blood is coming from his nose and mouth, not his paw (which just had blood on it). Usually, that means some pretty severe internal bleeding, and I have little hope for the guy at that point. That and his calling was getting quieter. So, I just hold him next to my heart, and try to keep him warm with my hand and gently pet his head and shoulders. He stopped calling and tried to climb my shirt a little bit, then curled back into my hands. His limbs jerked and he went still and limp. Zigg came back to tell me that Animal Control still wasn't answering and I said that it was alright.

We put him back into the box on the towel and debated what to do. We decided to take him out to the field behind my apartments and bury him. Zigg dug the hole, then I placed him curled up inside so he looked like he was sleeping. Then we said a few words for him, cast the first bits of dirt in, then buried him.

We were both feeling a bid down, and Zigg asked if he should feel sad over it. I said it was normal since he spent 40 minutes with it before I got there, and we tried to help it. Then I told him, at the very least, at least he didn't die alone on the sidewalk on a busy street, and he died warm and next to a big heartbeat, and that most people wouldn't have done anything.

So that was my morning, I'm hoping that in spite of all this we can still have a good day today, but what a way for Zigg to start his weekend, huh?

So, I've decided I'm gonna do National Novel Writer's Month this year. Basically, a challenge to write a novel of at least 50,000 words in 30 days. It's not till November but I'm going to be doing a lot of free writing to prepare for it.

I want to animate in flash again (lol it's been since high school >.<) but! I don't have a copy and have had bad luck finding working copies via torrents. I was wondering if anyone had a copy of either flash or toon boom studio they could get to me. I have some pencil paper animations done, but no way to film them but to scan them and compile them. I'd also like to try animating to music/sound effects/dialog and need a program that will allow me to do that (Photoshop's animation is only for gif type animations)

God I am so sick... I think I may have bronchitis... let's face it, it wouldn't be winter if I didn't get bronchitis at least once. x.x

God I've been sick for almost a week, I just want to feel better...I just want to lay down all day, but i have stupid homework to do x.x

So, now that FC is over, I've had some time to reflect on how my table went this year. I made some really awesome connections, and I learned a lot. So I've decided I'm not going to go to Rainfurrest this year. Instead I am going to spend this year beefing up my portfolio and beefing up my table offerings.

So, since I'm forgetful and need to write everything down or I forget I've compiled a list of what I'm going to do and make to get ready to have a stronger more successful table.


-Spend the next three months in study. Focusing on drawing wild life from photos and by going to the zoo. Practice with realism using a combination of makers and colored pencils.

-Take that figure drawing class next semester.

-Compile a book of samples and originals, sell originals as "make offer"

-BUSINESS CARDS. So many people asked for them and I didn't have any to offer, this is bad. My aim is to make a double sided card, my art on one side, and starlight kigurumi (my kigurumi business) on the other. Give them out while in my Kigurumi as well as have some at my table

-Finish one or more portfolios ( I have two in the works and a third has a concept I'm toying with.) Ask artists who make portfolios if CDs or Prints sell better.

-Take Pre-orders for Con badges that match the convention theme

-Put art in the art show. I have paintings and drawings of wildlife that I have been meaning to put in the art show, I just need to actually do it this year.

-Have small premade things to sell. Like buttons, stickers, keychains.

-Collaborate with my table mate, stupidvamp on some stuff to sell and on what we'll each bring to our table

-Reserve our own dealers den table not affiliated with Sacfurs.



I've also decided to take the opportunity I've been given to spend more time at home, taking online classes and unable to work, to not only work on my art, but also to work on my music as well. However, I know that unless I have a rigid schedule to keep everyday I will NOT get anything done. So, I'm working on a schedule to keep to make myself stay focused. I'm also thinking about getting my office ready even before my doctor appointment in 14 days.
