A law of Karma, it is up to us if that reaction is good or bad.
With luck you will get a lifetime to make memories,
if not, you will at least have the memories to last a lifetime.
Remember, true personal worth is measured in the harts of others,
not in the content of your pockets…

I don't trip over things, I do random gravity checks!
I don't need anger management. I need people to stop pissing me off!
My people skills are just fine. It's my tolerance of idiots that needs work.
The biggest lie I tell myself is "I don't need to write that down, I'll remember it."
I talk to myself because sometimes I need expert advice.
Sometimes I roll my eyes out loud?
When I was a child I thought nap time was punishment. Now it's like a mini vacation!
The day the world runs out of wine is just too terrible to think about!
I don't have gray hair. I have "wisdom highlights". I'm just very wise.
I like my middle finger best because it always sticks up for me!
I've lost my mind and I'm pretty sure my kids took it!
Even duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound!
Wouldn't it be great if we could put ourselves in the dryer for ten minutes; come out wrinkle-free and three sizes smaller!

Posted 11 years agoEvery year I set on this date and reflect, to remind myself of who we are and what we as a people will give up for each other and for what we hold sacred.
Every year I set and cry, not for myself but for those who lived through the terror of that day. I cry for our children and prey they will never have to experience the same emotions but I also pray they learn and remember what we have gone through. I can only hope that should the need ever arise that they find the courage to do what is needed. In honour of the events and people whose lives were touched by the tragedy on that day I humbly offer this prayer if you will ...
" To live in the hearts we leave behind is to never die. Hold close the memories of those who have gone before us and let them live on through us all.….. Let us never forget...
Posted 12 years agoIt is time to remember a sad event in American history, 9/11, where much life was lost Every passing year year less and less remember those who perished and those who drove themselves to exhaustion both mentally and physically beyond what most would consider humanly capable. It was a time we came together, worked together, bled together and cried together.
With each passing year there are less and less who take a moment and just search their soul and remember the even that shuck America to it's very roots. I for one refuse to forget....

To you who read this I ask you take the hand of the person closest to you and and take a moment to reflect... Ask them to do the same...

Posted 12 years agoI heard a song today that touched a spot deep in my soul. It reminded me just how precious our memories can be of the loved ones in our life. Little objects that are in everybody else's eye are worthless. A ring, a pocket watch, a old gun that resides in a case somewhere. Things that unto themselves are just inanimate but when you hold them you can still feel the life and love of the person who gave it to you. Many years ago several tragic losses prompted me to write....

Posted 12 years agoI was setting thinking over a cup of coffee recently, mostly about myself. Call it an evaluation if you will, looking back over some of the trial and tribulations of my life. I guess this is part of the aging process, when young to look forward and set goals, and as you get old you look back and see how well you've done. Where I have not made out financially I think I've done rather well. Oh I have had rough times, not as bad as some of you I'm sure, but some issues I pray none of you ever have to face, ever!
I've provided shelter and food to some when they had less than the clothing they wore. I've provided funding to people I have never met and not likely ever will. I have even helped people find their own path with out saying “go there” as that would be making decisions for them. All in all I think that I've done well. I've raised a daughter by myself, to be a fine young woman. Headstrong and wise, someone I'm sure can withstand all the turmoils life will offer. I have friends who stand beside me even if they think I'm certifiably nuts.
Yes, I feel comforted that I have met some of the goals I've set. Not all, but the important ones.
I have a little saying I came up with several years ago and feel this is as true today as the day I wrote it...

Posted 12 years agoNormally I wouldn't post something like this but because I want to wish you all a happy and most importantly safe Holiday season, I would like to share a personal experience with my closest friends about drinking and driving.
As you well know, some of us have been known to have had brushes with the authorities on our way home from the occasional social session - especially during the Holidays. A couple of nights ago I was out for an evening with friends, and had a couple of cocktails and some rather nice red wine. Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before. I took a cab home.
And wouldn't you just know it - on the way home I passed a police road block but, since it was a cab, they waved it past. I arrived home safely and without incident - which was a real surprise because I have never driven a cab before and am not sure where I got it or what to do with it now that it's in my garage.
Be careful out there…

Posted 13 years agoLast evening, in my feeble attempt at sharing humor, I gained the scorn of someone I admire. It was not meant in any ill will, and I feel there was a lot of misunderstanding. But the person was steadfast and I should have known. It is a lesson hard learned and a mistake I will not repeat. I will still watch as their art fascinates me, but I will only do so in silence.. I write not in self pity but in hopes this person will except this as an apology.
