As of a few minutes ago, I just posted the first full character commission I've done in quite a long time. People who've followed me through my long history on this site know that I was primarily an artist known for character designs, and I'll be taking on some work again from now on. There's just some stuff I want to mention before opening any floodgates and openly seeing if anyone wants anything. Mainly that I'm a lot different than I used to be and that I didn't just stop drawing because I got bored, it became a psychological complex and I got less and less enjoyment out of it until I just hated the act of doing so. I've done little things for myself when the need arises over the last few years, but this is my first attempt at actually trying to do a bit more.

That being said, I am a lewd novelist first and foremost. It is not my intention to ever go back to having art be my primary thing again. Spending hours and hours on a piece of art doesn't fulfill me the same way that writing a few pages of a story with *my* characters in a fraction of that time does. The main reason I'm doing this is to start affording more things for my books- character references, cover art, commercial licenses to use those to things, more art in general of my characters, audiobook development, hopefully, and so on. Clarifying this because I'm not interested in doing anything other than what I'm offering- character designs.

The characters are flat colored, and they are drawn in mirror mode from the front only. That doesn't mean I won't ever incorporate asymmetrical aspects. It's just a general time-saving thing. Accessories and junk cost extra depending on what's discussed. While not necessary, I would vastly prefer to be making characters that exist in the setting of my series, like that catboy does. That's why he has a rank and class noted on the sheet, as he's an adventurer in my world. The reason is simple, I'm more invested this way, and if I end up liking the character, it would be easy to reference them in a book sometime. This might complicate some things as I'm assuming most of you reading this are furries, and while there are anthros and furries in my setting they have certain racial traits that'd need to be explained.

My setting is very expansive though, and can accommodate most standard fantasy/D&D things, and you're obviously free to use the character for whatever the hell you want past that. It's just if you say I want a gnome, I might have to explain the kind of culture they have in my setting and things like that. But really I just want to be doing more of what I'm doing, mostly fantasy characters and stuff that would generally fit in my world. I don't think it's that limiting.

From Feb 3rd to the 7th, I'm doing a free book promotion for book one of my series, The Corruption of Coye! Claim it during this period and its yours to keep forever! Things change drastically after meeting a mischievous Pixie one day after a routine quest, and he ends up with a partner unlike any other. After having sex with Shayla, Coye's body starts going through rapid changes and he needs to seek out continual stimulation in order to carry on with his life. The series essentially answers the often asked question- what if Link was a cute, big-dicked femboy with rapidly decreasing shame and Navi was his secret wingman telepathically helping him pick up chicks? There's a lot more to it than that, though. It's about Coye's coming of age as he grows out of his awkward shell, becomes stronger, and discovers what he wants to get out of life. He might start off shy and awkward, but you won't believe the kind of man he'll become.

It's my birthday! Or at least tomorrow is, I'm just posting this a little in advance because timezones are wonky and I'm also an attention whore. I'm 29 on Dec 20th, and that's a thing, I guess. Not crazy thrilled by the march of time but things have been going well lately enough that I can ignore its ravages. The Corruption of Coye Volume 5 will be out next week- I'm almost done. Honestly expecting to be done by 21st/22nd and then Amazon makes me wait 3 days to adjust the preorder, so it might literally release on Christmas Eve/Day. Funny how that worked out. It's the biggest volume yet (hoping this trend doesn't continue) but I did manage to put it out in record time despite that. Idk how many pages Amazon will say it is, but it's gonna be somewhere over 160k words. I'm very excited for it, it's undoubtedly my best work yet! Lot of lewd, lot of action, chock full of character development and tons of emotional payoffs.

This has been a really good month for me in terms of acquiring new readers, solely because of how much art I've been getting and using as promotional material across my socials and on various subreddits. If anyone wants to do anything for me for Birthday/Christmas, then reading my series if you haven't already would obviously be the best place to start, but if not, then funding to help me to get more art of my characters is definitely the way to go. But hey, I'm grateful even if you don't do anything special. It means a lot to have as many followers and friends as I do, even if it feels like I'm always in a scramble to get more.

Check in with the audience time, this time, birthday edition. Yes, as of December 20th I have officially turned 28. Usually, I’m inexplicably depressed each year around this time but this year doesn’t feel that bad in comparison. Things have been slower with my short story than I’d have liked but that’s just down to me misjudging winter’s effect on my mood. It’s currently sitting at around 15k words. I don’t have all that much to say this time around update-wise beyond that, just that I’m working on lots of stuff, including art for characters.

I’m still planning on returning to the main story sometime next month if all goes to plan.

I haven’t been rushing myself on that note because I sort of hit a realization that in just under one year I wrote like 700,000 words for Rise of the Guild Master. That’s like, six entire fucking books worth and it’s not even counting bonus chapters, outlines, lore, and behind-the-scenes planning. Therefore, if winter is making me feel like ass, then I shouldn’t feel under pressure to constantly work on big things that demand my full attention.

But I don’t want to rest on my laurels for much longer.

It's been a very long time since I've asked for any sort of charity or help from anyone, but I'm very stressed over the state of things right now. My Discord hack was taken care of and I got all that money back, but in general I still have way too much on my plate to deal with. I have to make two rent payments this month, one for first month house payment and last month's rent payment, like $400 each, and I'm probably going to owe like $500 in taxes. Obviously I'm not expecting anyone to donate that much, but I figured I'd ask if anyone would put a tiny bit in towards my financial woes.

A friend of mine was hit by a russian hacker who sends people a link to a 'game they made', which gave them access to my discord account. They deleted my server and messaged basically everyone I know tons of racially charged messages, spammed porn and other shit at them. He's been harrassing me as well but to very little result because it's mostly just like ok dude w/e. Worst of all they made $400 worth of Discord Nitro purchases during the worst possible time possible- this next month I had to pay two rent bills. Last month of appartment, first time of house payment. Not to mention whatever taxes I have to pay on the 17th.

I am doing very bad, not much else to say other than that. I don't know if I'll have to ask for help yet, I'd prefer not to but it might be unavoidable.

All passwords are changed, the only thing he has access to now is my Discord and my Reddit account which fuck if I care what happens to that one. I also changed paypal's PW so he can't make any more random discord payments. My birthday is on the 20th and I know a couple of people tend to get me like fanart or stuff, so I wanted to give an official notice. After talking with lots of friends, including experienced content creators who know more about this than I do, I was reaffirmed in my decision to make RotGM public while balancing it with more Amazon exclusive short stories (the first of which I'm already writing. it's a monster girl. I don't suddenly like MGs less just because I'm working on this).

Currently, all of the story is available on Webnovel. I'm looking into posting it also at Royal Road and Literotica, but if anyone knows any other sites that are good for posting erotica, let me know. Before you suggest it, Wattpad won't work. No outright porn allowed.

In the future I will sell collected editions of RotGM which will rewrite scenes when I'm a better writer and will add even more lewd things that sadly don't make the cut. For instance in chapter 25 there's a mentioned thigh job, and in the for sale edition that'll be fully written out scene instead of covered in just a few sentences. Similarly at the end of chapter 33 during the first threesome of the series, Sam gets a round that's briskly covered in a single paragraph. I'll expand shit like that among other things

Kind of like how actual transitions from webnovels to lightnovels go, they use the WN version to gain feedback and convey the main plot and gain experience before refining it for sale.

Now if you want to help me out on Webnovel there's a few things you can do.

3. Add RotGM to your library, aka favorite it. Obviously that helps lol.

Whether you're on the app or the desktop site you can click on any paragraph and comment on it, react to things, etc. Please go ahead and flood the chapters with comments if you'd like to lol, it would help metrics a ton and encourage other people to comment. I believe you can choose to comment on the chapter itself, too.

5. Now that it's free and public, please share it with all your friends you think would like it! Anyone who likes comedy, erotica, jrpg-esque fantasy, isekai (it's not one but adjacent to that genre), progression fantasy, konosuba (a main inspiration), action, adventure, dungeons and dragons, all that kinda stuff, will definitely love what I have in store.

Lastly, the chapters are split up differently from the book releases. Most chapters were cut into 2-3 different ones because Webnovel likes short chapters. Most of them are unedited, but if you read the free preview of chapter 1 then you should reread it. I did change a lot of the phrasing and flow ot it because at the start I was still figuring out how the Guild Master talked/narrated, and I have a much better handle on him now.

Also the second main heroine, Zutiria Syndaline, finally debuts in chapter 26 so I'm going to be posting her refs soon as well as dumping a lot of art we've had made for her! Look forward to that!

So my writing career has been going pretty well, all things considered. I’m making decent money for having just started out and I’m more motivated than ever to keep writing and keep making amazing new characters and stories, not just for Rise of the Guild Master, but as a whole for my new fantasy setting it takes place in.

There is a nagging concern thus far, though.

I went with the amazon store structure because it favors short stories that are fast and easy to write. You can make a lot of money when you have hundreds of books out and you get lots of royalties. But after starting Rise of the Guild Master, I’ve kind of fallen off this format without meaning to.

Now I’m writing novellas with multiple chapters and mixing of sex, comedy, action, adventure, drama and slice of life Progression Fantasy all at once. This is far from what you’re supposed to be doing on kindle to succeed lol.

Kindle rewards authors who can pump out 1-2 short stories every week, and the more bloated your catalogue becomes the more money you can build up as more and more people discover you and read your massive backlog or buy your collected editions.

Part of me wants to publish Rise of the Guild Master publicly on places like Literotica and Webnovel to address a few problems.

Rise of the Guild Master is something new from me. I’m primarily known as an artist with a great sense of humor, but not many of my fans are likely to just jump onto a new property of mine in a medium I’m not known for if there’s a paywall. MHFAP! Never got far enough to show off my more serious writing chops and while we’ll get there someday, it’ll be a long time until that happens.

So I’m thinking that I need more public examples of my work, and since Rise of the Guild Master has evolved past the format for that’s typically successful on the Amazon e-book store I think it might be better to use it as an ongoing example of my writing skills, and I’ll still be able to profit from it. I can link my Patreon where I post it, and can start to build a name for myself not just as an artist but a writer.

Also as a side note I’m still drawing stuff lol. Just this week I designed the next two main characters of Rise of the Guild Master, and boy were they challenging. But it’s spoilery so I can’t post it. I’m an artist AND a writer. I can’t separate the two.

Another main thing about switching Rise of the Guild Master to public is that I can then start doing things chapter by chapter and not worrying about binding them to a book and such. This would allow me to start doing like, a Rise of the Guild Master chapter today, a short story I can sell on Amazon the day after, and so on. Versus, ok I need to do 5 more chapters of Rise of the Guild Master and then I can do a short story... but ah I just left off on a big cliffhanger and I really wanna start the next book...!!

So not only would Rise of the Guild Master be a promotional tool, if public it would allow me to get back on track with my original plan of creating a huge backlog of short stories on Amazon. Plus it opens up more possibilities, as if there’s a growing readership for Rise of the Guild Master then if I wanted to make a side story chapter about Sam and Master, there would be more people willing to buy it.

I’d have to de-list the first two books from Amazon because of their whole Kindle Select exclusivity shit, so if I want to post it elsewhere it’d need to be deleted. But I was already planning on eventually selling collected editions with rewrites, corrections and extended and added scenes so this would probably make it a lot less confusing for when that does happen.

If I do end up doing this I’d offer refunds to the people who bought the first two books if they wanted it. I’m sure most people wouldn’t though as most of the people who have read it thus far are in my inner circle but I don’t want to punish my fans for me rushing into things and not thinking about the best avenue for this venture. It’s a recurring habit of mine and I can only apologize for it.

Also I’m really sick of explaining to people you don’t need a Kindle to read it. It’s an app. lol.

Hey guys, my content has taken a weird shift right now for some of you and I’ve been putting off making a big statement like this about it for a while now. Just mainly cause I’m afraid of reception, or that some people will think I’m giving up when it’s really far from that.

Before we get any further in this I want to say very blankly that as bleak as this sounds I’m not quitting MHFAP!, I’m taking a new path to get to a point where I can work on it and anything else I want to without fear ever again.

I’m not burnt out on MHFAP!, I’m burnt out on failure. In a year where the world has literally entered the dark ages, I couldn’t just keep grinding like the last three years saying this is the year I’ll finally start making real big money from MHFAP!. I’m not mentally the same as I was mid to late last year. I don’t think any of us are.

My drawing output has slowed down, I can’t bring myself to care enough to do commissions even when they’re related to MHFAP!, and I still owe a number of patient people a number of things. I’m still drawing, and I still like drawing, it’s not about that.

I’ve tried for years to live off of ‘insert money, receive art’ but no matter how much I try to make it work my mind is not built to primarily function off of commissions no matter how much control I have over them. Square peg, round hole. You get the idea.

I never made much profit on anything I’ve tried to do with MHFAP!. I’m terrified of high prices on OCs since it’s just a huge waste if I end up not liking the char and never wanting to use them, as I get better and better at art new char designs just get more and more detailed, I make the ref sheets bigger and more full of writing and lore, and it’s just so much shit for so little. I love so many of the characters I’ve made for people, and I’ve done so many amazing things with them but the whole process just hurts so much these days.

The main thing I’ve always chased is a passive income. That’s what I’m doing now. I don’t want to take your money and do a thing for you. I want to put a thing out and you give me money for it.

I’ve tried that over the years with multiple things. There were two image packs, one very recent. They both failed and took a gigantic chunk of money and time. For the halloween one I wasn’t even charging my friends to draw their chars for it, instead they’d only have to pay the fee for my assistant to lineart and color the pictures. I thought 28 images with 70 total versions was a good price for $20 but I already took pre orders from friends and didn’t want to lower the price. Part of the halloween one’s failure is on me. I’m so mentally tired and defeated right now that I was in/am not in no state to promote it. I naively kept telling myself while working on it that it’d be cool if 100 fans out of my combined 7100 followers across all my social media bought it. That would have been amazing, but instead it’s been like 15 lol. Not even remotely worth the insane time I put into it, or the lack of profits I took during September to justify making it.

I tried to sell Merch twice, the second time much nicer looking than the shitty teespring stuff, but I launched like the exact second the Pandemic was starting to get serious in the US so no one was spending money and I had just spent a few weeks of prep getting products ready. I don’t even think I’ve made $50 from Merch lol.

I tried to sell MHFAP! Audios, before I started doing them as a hobby. That also took a lot of time and money. There were 3 before the Fapcast, and they all failed. I started making them again purely because I enjoy the format and writing them and working with the girls to make my characters come to life, but yeah, the pandemic made that something I had to close down real fast. I was hoping that producing a lot of them and getting podcast sponsors and ads on them would be viable long term, but they are insanely expensive to make even with me being personal friends with a lot of the VAs and with them giving me deals. And even with me not paying for them, they still take too much time to make.

A recurring thing with my business model that’s bad is I wanted to incentivize people to want to get more content with their MHFAP! OCs and since I relied on the brand exposure I would often do things for a smaller cut. Like the recent Harem Life comics I tried. I was desperate to just... WRITE things, and do things with my characters that I love so much. But each strip took like 30-40 minutes of set up, and although Aljune, my assistant, was drawing each and every one of them I still had to edit them very much. And I wasn’t making any profit from them at all, I was just having the $20 sent straight to Aljune.

And that’s not healthy. I shouldn’t be so desperate to play with my toys that I have to beg others to help fund them when I am literally not making any profit from them, just in the hopes that someone will see it and like it enough to give me money to do what I want.

Arena was launched at a rough time and while I got some decent success from it, it died down and the workload became a lot harder and overbearing than I thought.

In a perfect world I would have only drawn the comic for the last 3 years and none of the side projects. In a perfect world I would have had the money to do that, which is why I had to constantly pause, start, pause, stop, the main comic. I haven’t had any income in like 3 months to be honest, what little I have gotten was quickly spent on bills and food and the occasional video game to distract me from the rest of the world right now.

My motivation to draw right now is very low. It takes a long time, even if I’m fast, I’m not always happy with the result, and I feel like I never have time to practice. Now that I do have time to practice, comically, I don’t have the energy to.

Part of the reason I’ve put off this journal so long is because I’m afraid if I say ‘hey guys I don’t feel like drawing, and I have no idea when I will feel like doing MHFAP! Content again’ then people will just assume I’m giving up and take their Patreon money away in droves. Which I could not live with.

The only thing I’ve gotten myself to do consistently is write, and yes it started off as MHFAP! Short stories but those are just not creatively fulfilling enough. They’re filler episodes. I can’t ever advance the main plot and it just feels like I’m piling up more and more of a jenga tower these days.

So I started a new project, Rise of the Guild Master, and working on it has made me happier than I’ve been in months. I’m still not really making that much money but hey. It’s something. I’m not leaking money or making things at a dramatically reduced cost for brand awareness, my friend is funding all the Aljune pics because he likes Rise of the Guild Master so much. So I have to do very little other than guide and train/collab with Aljune on the pic to improve his art, which I’m already still doing, and I get free marketing material.

The whole thing with selling ebooks is that erotica is the most successful genre of books on the kindle store, which is the biggest market for ebooks in the world. And I can even earn royalties from the kindle select program. There are people out there who have like 300 short stories available and they make several thousands of dollars a month from royalties passively and without barely having to promote their work just because the kindle economy is so good to adult fiction. And I want that. I want a passive income like that so much that it hurts just thinking about it.

I don’t know what I’m doing with the Patreon yet. I still want to make MHFAP! But it’s probably going to be a very long time before that happens. I don’t know what kind of rewards or exclusive content I can offer right now or in the future. I don’t want to convert it to a Patreon for my writing because I know most everyone there is in it for MHFAP! And not for me. I have a brand, it’s not a tip jar.

I imagine I’ll start to feel more like drawing as things go on again but I don’t know if it’ll be tons of MHFAP! Stuff right off the bat. This has been the most confusing time of my life, this year, and it’s made me question a lot. Made me really start to think about what I’ll do when I get old. I can’t do real jobs, I’m on disability for a reason. Can’t do commissions when I’m 80 and my bones hurt. Can’t save money now when I’ve been operating at a net loss for 3 straight years.

I really wish I was able to turn my brain off and accept comms even if they didn’t interest me. If I kept doing furry comms then by now I’d probably be making several hundred a piece. But I couldn’t do that any longer back then, just like I can’t do this any longer right now. I’m still a square peg and the hole is still round.

I didn’t write this long ass blog as an attempt to ask for charity, but on the off chance you read through it and feel like helping then the main thing I’d like is if you went and read Rise of the Guild Master. I have a bit of a confession to make. My books, including the MHFAP! ones, are all enrolled in this program and I get paid like a 1/4th of a cent per page you read lol but it adds up fast and someone reading the book gets me like 50-70 cents each? Which is not bad at all. I mean I'd still like it if people bought the book sure but I'll take what I can get!

Also, there's another way to read for free! If you have a friend who owns a copy, then you can ask them to lend you it via the Kindle Lending program or whatever it's called. Basically it gets removed from your friends library for 14 days and gets added to yours, and then I get paid if a new person reads it. Same rate as if its being read as an Unlimited member. Thing is though you can only ever lend a book out to someone once and you can't read it while you're lending it, so... be careful!

Got something I've been working on yesterday and today finished up now. I wrote a short story featuring Jessie the Strawberry Minotaur and it spiraled into something pretty big.

Thought I'd drop some of the deepest IRL lore I have for you guys and explain a bit about Floaty's origins as a character. As you guys know I make MHFAP! OCs and sell them to my fans. Floaty was an adoptable, a format I sadly don't get to do too often because of all the people bothering me for custom ones. The original design of Floaty was... not my best. But I made some extra art of her to hype her up and increase her price. Still didn't sell. But oddly enough, she became very popular because a close up of her face became pretty much the most used emote on my discord server, :floatydurr:

Due to the fact that her emote was so popular and was so versatile and loved, and that she remained forever unsold, 'buy Floaty' became a recurring meme in the server. Yet no one ever did. One day about 5 months ago said fuck it and decided to do something radical in secret without telling anyone. I fully redesigned Floaty from the ground up keeping only the blank look on her face and changing every other aspect besides the general concept of being a green bubble slime ala Dragon Quest.

It was torturous not showing anyone. Only like 5 people knew. I'm very bad at keeping secrets when its something I really, really want to share with my fan base. But the ultimate joke is that now no one can buy Floaty. She's mine. Whatever that entails is up to your imagination, and the future, my friends.

In order to make the indefinite pausing of MHFAP!'s main comic less annoying, I would like to announce the start of a project that has been in the works for like 5 months, was paused, then unpaused about a week ago.

An ongoing 4 panel side comic called MHFAP! Harem Life.

To make this work, I am retconning the pages I made of chapter 6 out of existence. When the main comic does come back 47 years from now, I'll redraw chapter 6 from the start to account for the new events that suddenly take place inbetween chapters 5 and 6.

Harem Life is 100% canon and will consist of comedy, chibi sex, and will even introduce certain MHFAP! OCs canonically into the story by meeting them in their own arcs in Harem Life.

These are drawn 100% by my assistant, @AljuneArt, so they are no extra work for me. To ensure the chars look close enough to how I draw them, I'm setting the pages up with the 3D models that I myself use. They do cost typically $20 each, so I'm definitely looking for more fan help funding these, but I'm not desperate.

I sincerely hope we do not have thousands of Harem Life strips before I'm FINALLY making enough money for the main comic to come back, but we'll see...

So as you guys know by now the main comic is basically in cryosleep as I build my brand so strong that I can sustain it indefinitely and never have to pause it again. Things are going well on track and I've seen a pretty sizeable uptick in Patreon since launching the Arena content. We're talking like +$50 in pledges so far. This will hopefully increase as we do more and more matches with even more exciting matchups, and I have further plans to bring in even more recurring revenue. But what I'm asking you guys about right now isn't entirely related to that, but it's kinda something that's been on my mind for a while now.

I wanted to ask though how people would feel if I revealed the 4th Harem Member before she ever gets introduced in the story. Here me out.

The 4th Harem Member was originally someone else entirely. But the one who was GOING to be #4 got shifted up to #5 like 4-5 months ago after I had this idea to introduce someone into the story a lot sooner. If you want to know why I changed that around, it's because it kinda dawned on me that Futura turned out a lot less kuudere and a lot more tsundere than she was ever planned to. Rizl was supposed to be the tsundere, but Futura is the sassy, exasperated tsundere and Rizl is the angry one. Characters evolve and change like that, but it does make the dynamic a bit unbalanced. Tali was supposed to be the loving girl, Futura, the neutral one, and Rizl was the angy gal. I set things up this way since we were supposed to spend a couple of arcs with just the 4 of them together before the 4th girl joined.

Anyway back when I decided to secretly alter my plans and add a new girl inbetween Rizl and the PLANNED #, well, Things were incredibly different back then, and I was planning a series of 4 Panel comics similar to the Ask series except they'd be canon slice of life things. The plan was to get like one of these done a day, and I had written a good bunch of em, but as things stand now I will not ever be able to do this series by myself anytime soon. If I can't even work on the main comic in peace then I sure as shit don't have the power to do a daily 4 panel thing on the side.

The thing I'm getting at is I was planning to secretly introduce the 4th Harem member as the introduction to this side comic, and become a recurring character in it before she crossed over to the main one comic in between the Goblin arc and the Moonstained Manor arc, where she would be formally inducted. The reason it worked in my head is because,

1. This character is a joke. A legitimate member of the group with her own personality and such, yes, but very much a gag character. She wouldn't get in the way of the ongoing character narratives I have planned for the more serious Harem members.

2. She would not effect the group's current power level at all really, she would make them a tiny bit stronger but barely so. The original #4 was going to be a good deal stronger than the original members of the Harem (who would eventually catch up to her Shounen style), but this is balanced out because spoilers. Similar to Futura this char has a big limiter but it's a lot less severe than Futura's. But the new #4 is very fucking weak in most circumstances until a lot later on.

3. She fills a niche for a species that should probably be in the main cast but one that I had no plans for.

4. Importantly at the time, although she is regular sized she is able to change sizes and would have taken up almost no panel space in big group drawings when the harem were all in shot, and would only have to be full size when doing things or sex. We're talking like Pikachu on Ash's shoulder size, if a little smaller.

5. Obviously as you might have figured from context clues, she would have brought balance to the early Harem and would be on the 'loves Hero very much' side next to Tali. The original #4 is hard to explain. Like, really hard. She also would have balanced it out, but... uh... hmm. Spoilers. Lot of stuff going on there.

So I'm kinda at a weird place regarding her. I think sometimes I should just announce her, start drawing her, involving her in art, promo stuff, Arena, and so on, and just mention that she'll be in the main comic one day. But also I'm torn because I feel like that'd be a slippery slope. What's to stop me from then deciding 'well, you know, it'll be YEARS till I reach Harem Member #5 in the main comic... since I can't even make the fucking comic from lack of money... why don't I just do what I did with [REDACTED] and just start drawing her now?' and so on with the other Harem members I have planned until we reach all 7 of the currently planned ones. Which would be hard for a few of them since one is explicitly a twist member and I'd have to make any content regarding them make sure it doesn't explain any reason as to why she's part of his Harem lol...

The Harem model is based very much on Luffy's crew from One Piece, but unlike Oda I don't get to rapidly draw my comic every day of my life because I don't get paid for it. I have a vision similar in scope to the giant epic that One Piece morphed into over the years, but I get paid from the bonus stuff around MHFAP!, not MHFAP! itself sadly. I'm not really paid to tell my story but to make characters and art that take place inside my story's universe (which is why I recently resolved to just build up my brand so big that I can work on the comic as much as I want)- And so I have this big pile of secret characters who've been living in my brain for like 3 fucking years that I wish I could draw. All my other art friends have all their beloved OCs that they get to do cute shit with and I'm just like *grumbles incoherently*.

And then part of me feels like if I did this for #4 I'd be leading people on. Like oh yeah, that's [REDACTED]. She's not in the comic yet but if you pay me more we'll get there one day! And I don't really want to send that kind of message.

Instead of a poll like when I asked you guys if I should start drawing the Artifacts, I figured I'd just let you guys comment about my thoughts and I'll gauge the consensus for myself.

I'm planning on adding a tier to my patreon, possibly more than one, for weekly exclusive MHFAP! guest arts from my artist friends. It'll be a while before I can launch this idea, as I want to build up a sizeable buffer. But to do that I will need some talented artists who would be cool with creating exclusive content for me, i.e. content you can't share on your side of things.

My budget for this isn't amazing or anything but I'm just throwing a net out and seeing who'd be interested. I might finance some of these pieces by going half and half on them with OC owners, but as for the kind of artists I want, I prefer the following things;

-Anime styled, interest/experience in monster girls.
-Can follow my specific ideas for pieces. I want these to be fun
-Can handle multiple characters per piece potentially, and backgrounds
-Is alright with me critiquing the piece, and potentially redlining things I don't like or would like changed. I promise I'm not a nightmare client, I'm just very specific about my characters being on model haha.
-Fast-ish, I'm patient(?) but have a instant gratification problem so I don't necessarily like working with people who typically have giant queues or that'll take a few weeks just to get a single piece.
-Cheap preferred but again, not a total deal breaker depending.

Again I do need to stress that the artist would have to be ok knowing that they can't share the piece on their end, and that I won't be sharing it for quite some time. I want to build up a big buffer I'm affectionately calling the 'Fapvault' so only me and some of my inner circle will get to see the piece before it ends up shared to my Patrons.

Hey guys, since Nintendo is refusing to give the people what they want, a massive Nintendo Direct where they announce tons of new shit, I thought I'd fill the gap and have a MHFAP! Direct in blog form and announce everything that's going on with me, and stuff that is coming up very soon on the horizon.

The kicker? For once, ITS ALL MOSTLY GOOD NEWS.

My financial situation may be improving. My fiance is starting a new full time job that pays $16 an hour, vs her current one that pays $11 and is only a part time one. While I'm not going to go and make tons of promises, this should ease my situation a lot more and hopefully get the feeling of the constant albatross off of my neck. I'm not promising that the comic will return the second things feel 'better'. Over the last couple of months its made me realize that the main comic and the main story are way too big for me to feasibly make on the type of budget and time I have available. My visions for it are so huge and demanding that expecting me to make it on $300 a month while also having to do shitloads of commissions? Completely unrealistic. And NO, I will not downsize my visions to make the comic easier to make. I am passion driven, and want to make my huge epic harem action comedy adventure the way I envision it.

So rather than start up chapter 6 again where I left off, I want to take some time to *really* build up the MHFAP! brand and try as hard as I can to get the Patreon up by a couple hundred dollars. We're currently at like $270 a month and while the ideal situation is 1000 a month minimum, I'd like to try and make a break for $500-600.

I don't want to start the comic up again, have something bad happen and suddenly have to pause it again. Every time that happens to me it's SO fucking emotionally draining. So I'm going to start planting seeds to prevent this from happening. I don't know when I intend to return to the main comic yet. In all honesty it's pretty far in the back of my mind because I'm sick of the sadness that not being able to work on it gives me, so I'd rather not think about it until I'm in a situation where I can keep making it in comfort and stability.

What kind of content can you expect from me soon, then?

MHFAP! Arena Launch
(I actually really need feedback on this section so please read it and tell me your thoughts)

We are finally ready to start doing Arena fight arts. We have a growing pool of chars with Arena Bios (with more on the way), I have a really nice 3D model for a standard ring (we'll make more for special themed Arenas) and I have the structure for these fully thought out... Well, mostly thought out. 2 OC owners pay me for one match. One match is two pictures. I'd like to expand this to three pictures in the future but two pictures is already a LOT to ask people to pay for. So if the Arena matches bring me a lot of Patreon money and I can offer the matches cheaper to buyers, I'd love to start doing 3 per match because IDEALLY it would look like this-

1st Pic - A neutral-ish pic of the two characters fighting, one might have the upper hand but it's not concrete
Pause a few days for Patreon Voting for who wins.

2nd Pic - Not currently in the plans since it'd drive the cost up for the buyers even more (unless they're ok with that), but when I can I'd like to make a decisive picture of who wins, the moment they win.

Pause for Round 2 of Patreon Voting, this time Patrons, probably of a slightly higher tier will get access to a poll featuring 5 options.

3rd Pic- The results of the Domination Poll.

Lets say we had Hero vs Tali, and you all voted for Hero to win, the options might be something like.

I think if the Arena Matches catch on, they'd start making a lot of money for me which I can eventually use to lower the prices on Arena Matches, and more importantly, start to put the profits back into making the main comic.

I'm stressed that probably can't include the victory picture very much right now as it would make the entire match a lot more structured, but we'll see. Give me your thoughts on this because currently a 2 picture match is already planned to be like $160-200 split between two people. If anyone knows how to set up secure voting polls like this where I can essentially give certain people two votes, please let me know.

The important part is that Arena stuff should be fairly easy for me to make, and it interests me a lot. I have more plans for the more funding I get, such as tag battles, including referee OCs, fight posters and themed matches, and since I have a colorist on board I expect we could easily do a minimum of one match a week. For how the pics will be released, everyone will get to see them fully uncensored. But the public versions will have little overlays on the bottom telling them to go vote for who wins on Patreon, and in the case of the matches being 3 pics, the 2nd one would list the domination options. Any $1 Patron would get access to the pics without the overlays/MHFAP! Logo.

Please let me know any thoughts you have on the upcoming Arena system, as I could definitely use some help on maximizing profits, and potentially devising a system to ensure that Character votes are balanced, so that popular characters don't win every time.

More Training Art from my Assistant, Aljune
My assistant as you've seen me post, is learning a lot of anatomy and lighting things from me right now. He's doing these at an absurdly low price because of exchange rates, and I'm having him study ref pics but using MHFAP! characters to better teach him how to draw all my various girls. Since he's so cheap, fast, talented and reliable, and the exchange rate for him is SO good that I can basically keep him on as a full time employee, he's going to continue creating content for me in between his work coloring shit for me. This should create a steady stream of content that I can post as filler material, so I hope you guys like it!

Maybe. I'm not in a huge rush to make more. I have a half finished one that I might touch up soon but when I wrote 4 back to back I think i slightly got it out of my system for the most part. I still enjoy it though and I will probably do more in the future when I need a break from everything else.

MHFAP! Fapcast?
Not returning any time soon for reasons I've already said. Audio porn is still a passion of mine, but not only is my audio mixer completely devoid of enough drive to work on it, I need the money that goes into making them more for my own living expenses. I launched the Fapcast at the dawn of the pandemic thinking things wouldn't be as bad as they ended up being. It was a vanity project so that I could fap to my own chars in audio format lol. I will resume this in the distant future when I can properly fund such a monument to my own hubris.

MHFAP! ...Spotify Playlists? Wha?

I'm doing this kinda as a joke but I'm currently building playlists of songs that represent Hero, Tali, Futura and Rizl lol. Not songs they'd listen to per se, but ones that say something about them. Tastes in music are very eclectic but you're more than welcome to show me a song you think fits one of the mains. But don't be mad if I don't like it or anything. It's not something I'm taking very seriously, just a small jokey thing I'm doing on the side when listening to music as I draw. I just thought it'd be fun to release them when big enough so you can see how I view my characters on a deeper level. The names and themes of these playlists are as follows;

Hero - No Pressure
A slightly whiplash-y combination of jokey songs that accentuate his over the top swagger, bravado and love for sex before dragging you down to show his sensative side and bring attention to the fact that most of his behaviour is an act, and he's a lot more scared and alone than he lets on.

Tali - Suggestive Chirpings
Primarily bright, warm and loving songs with a leaning towars pop that can get a bit sexual while also coupled with deeper tunes that are meant to show her many anxieties and lack of self confidence.

Rizl - Angry Lizard Noises
Mixing songs that emphasize her torn emotions on the new state of her life (primarily her relationship with her new lover...) and songs that hint at a much deeper inner conflict that we've yet to see unfold in the pages of MHFAP!, Rizl's playlist is full of a lot of angry, conflicted emotions that land somewhere between love and hate.

Futura - Programmed This Way
With a heavy techno/futuristic lean, we explore the exasperation Futura struggles with as part of her relationship with Hero as well as her more hidden fears regarding the cold, distant self view she has of herself.

These are all pretty heavy themes and I have no idea where to find music for each one so as I've said feel free to suggest things lol. Also, the first track on each playlist can be considered their honest to god themesong, the song that I think represents them more than anything else.

As a small preview, this is the song I most view as 'Hero's Theme Song'. It's a surprisingly heartfelt song that shows how desperate he is for love- but emphasizes that just because he's desperate about it doesn't mean he isn't wholeheartedly genuine in his feelings for every girl that he loves fully, whether its core Harem members or the more 'honorary Harem' level OCs like Bella, Nona, Saber, Levy and so on. The song is obviously only about one girl, but in my context it's supposed to represent his love for all the important girls in his life.

MHFAP! OC Stuff-

(This section is really long so feel free to skip it if me talking about my creative process does not interest you lol)

I want to make slightly less new OCs for one thing. Some days it feels like 90% of my art is new character sheets and it feels like I'll never get popular when that's the majority of the things I make. I'll be prioritizing new fans who don't yet have MHFAP! OCs and want them, or current fans who don't have a lot of OCs. And for the record I owe UrbanWulf a lot of OCs that he's already paid for, not ones that I said I'd do eventually, but ones that are fully paid and he is fine with waiting till I'm ready to do them. So if you see me making a big batch of OCs for Urban I'm not breaking my word and making special exceptions for him.

Part of the reason I want to do less OCs right now is admittedly the awkwardness of pricing them, and the burnout that character design places on me. Designing new OCs is something I love but they take more effort than any other type of art I do. I have to, in this order,

1, Do a thumbnail sketch and try out lots of different combinations of features, outfits and hairstyles, and then the even more difficult stage of testing out tons of color schemes.

2, Create a detailed model for the char in my posing program, Design Doll, and potentially have my 3D assistant make me whatever sort of 3D props they might need. (Weapons, wings, standout features like that.)

3, Pose and then sketch the character. I try to be loose with this stage to be fast but it's tricky finding the balance between how little detail I need to do lineart and have it still look good.

4, Lineart, the most annoying stage. I consider myself decent at lineart but it's no denying that it's tedious to draw the exact same thing over top of the thing that you just drew. That's why I experiment with using less and less detain in my sketches these days.

5, Fully flatcolor it in the way my colorist likes. Not the worst part but he likes it in a really annoying way, in separate folders for each part of the character lmao.

6, Formerly color it, now I have my assistant Aljune do this part, but considering I was originally looking for an assistant to both do lineart AND coloring, it doesn't save as much time as I originally wanted when you factor in how much time the other steps take.

7, Place her on the ref sheet, fill out all the info boxes and write the character a 350-ish word bio for her. I should mention that formatting text in my program, Clip Studio 5, is fucking nightmarish and annoying lol. Might have to eventually experiment with a better formatting thing but I digress.

Now you might have just thought to yourself that that takes a lot of fucking work just for one character. You're right. And how much do I typically charge for chars? $60 for a 'simple' char. You know, not absurdly detailed or a really hard to draw species. And I should say that $60 is like the absolute minimum I want for that much damn work considering each new char can take multiple hours, and now that I have Aljune I'm only getting $45 per char and that's frankly not quite as good.

But I'm in a tricky situation. $60 is already a lot of money- that's an entire new video game for fuck's sake. I already felt bad enough when I raised it from 50 to 60 a few months back. I don't want to have to increase it for standard chars if I can help it.

My business is reliant on selling chars to my fans, so that they can go on to create content of their chars without me, thus creating free advertising for the MHFAP! brand as well as them wanting me to draw them with other MHFAP! OCs, and the main chars, creating endless content and a steady stream of pay. So I want the basic price to be as reasonable as I can possibly make it...

I would rather wait and do more new OCs when I'm in a position financially where I can take the hit.

Another big reason I get burned out on OCs is that I have so many fans who want all these different species and I want to make them all as happy as I can- and I'm extremely grateful that they all want to give me money knowing I'll make something they enjoy- but I'm just not able to force myself to want to make every single idea they have. I'm bad at saying no. Like, really bad. The fact that someone wants to give me money to have a char in my world and setting that they have a say in means a lot to me but sometimes it leads to me saying yes to something I don't think would be that fun or drawing a character I don't have much interest in drawing more.

I feel bad about some of the things that result from this. Namely when you see me do a revamp of an older OC. Even if they're always 100% happier with the new version of their character post redesign, the fact that I say 'I'm sorry but I really don't like this character design, I was less skilled and she doesn't fit in with my current design standards so I'd like you to pay me (discounted) so I can try it again. My earlier designs were soooo all over the place. At the time I only did them at $30 per char, so the quality was a shotgun blast. I was under constant financial pressure and didn't spend as long on each single char as I do now. That's why when I revamp some characters they look a LOT more like the actual species they're supposed to be based on.

Biggest example is Vespula here, who was supposed to be a Wasp. In her original I made her limbs look like weird stylized armor and because I didn't properly study the species in question I for some reason made her stinger fluffy. The new, revamped Vespula I made a few weeks ago is one of the most dramatic revamps I've done because it kept the core features of the char but reworked almost every single aspect of her anatomy to make her actually look like a Wasp.

I just hate that I have a really high standard for my quality and it's one of those things that's just me being hard on myself for no reason. My fans are always happy when I say I want to revamp one of their chars but to me it just feels like 'hey I don't wanna draw your char again till you pay me again'!

It's like I keep saying, I stress constantly about the people who support me and want to keep them happy, when in reality I'd probably be happier if I only designed adopts or something. Blehhh.

I didn't mean to ramble on so long about this but the OC shit has been stressing me out significantly lately because as of late it feels like 90% of my art is new chars, and I'll never get more popular just from that y'know?

IN SUMMARY-

TL;DR I am starting to feel my drive to accomplish shit coming back, but I'm tired of new OCs and shit. You can expect a lot of interesting things in the pipeline.
I intended this blog to be a lot simpler but I ended up using it to brainstorm my own thoughts as well as transparently vent about some stuff while giving you a clear view of the future of MHFAP! content.
