After a few months of rest and taking it easy, it turns out I managed to doodle for a few hours today without wanting to go play solitaire on the highway. This means that you kind folks who still remember and follow me may be seeing stuff from me in the near future! I'm thinking about reopening commissions gradually, probably with smaller ones at first (ie. lines only, can always add color later) to see how things go with my wrist + job schedule. these will be slow going for obvious reasons.

anyway, it's not for right now (i still have things to finish before I can open comms again), but I'm really happy to be able to draw again, and as such I'm thinking about offering a sort of welcome-back-discount (maybe the lab rat discount all around?). either way, if you'd like to be personally informed when comms open again, leave a comment and I will send you a note when slots are open.

Sometime around early december, i had to check myself into urgent care. i'd been having hand and wrist pains for a while already. it got so bad that i was incapable of picking up my glasses with my dominant hand. you can imagine how problematic that is, and not just for drawing. i ended up paralyzed up to my neck and jaw - to a point where i couldn't turn my head to the right properly if at all. well, i assumed (and so did the ER doctor) that this was a carpal tunnel issue, due to the paralysis and electric shocks that foretold it. so i had tests done by a nerve specialist.

good news: absolutely zero nerve damage. tip top shape, no issues or weaknesses at all.
bad news: tendinitis again.

this means i have to be extremely careful with using my right hand for a while. i can type, and use my mouse with my right hand on certain days, but there's absolutely no chance i'll be able to draw for a while. I know I said i'd lock tf in this year, and get back into commissions in a more reliable fashion, but, well, i am not immune to the failings of flesh. much like the adeptus mechanicus, this weakness disgusts me.

either way, i'm afraid i must go on a broken-hand-based hiatus again. i am infinitely glad i managed to complete all commissions in waiting before i grew completely handicapped. i might be able to negotiate with my insurance for cheaper physio sessions, and a cortisone injection could probably fix me up for a good while, though i'll still have to change my process, tools, positioning etc. still, thank you all for being patient with me. i will be back in a few months, hopefully, if all goes well and things don't somehow get worse.

i hope the new year treats you well. if you dont want to end up struggling to pull your pants up like me, don't forget to stretch every 30-40 minutes if you type, or play video games, or draw, or play any musical instrument, or-

At the start of December I began having serious problems with my carpal tunnel in my right hand. I've had to slow down commission work due to this, and will probably have to limit myself even further moving on. Havn't made a graphic yet or anything but I wanted to inform y'all that for November and December, I won't be doing a specific themed sale (i think?) and will instead be offering custom sequences and other comms if anyone is so inclined. Hit me up via notes or email if you're interested in anything! No precise amount of slots, I'll see how much interest I get vs. the size of the orders. Smaller commissions ordered in Nov can likely be done in time to be offered as Christmas gifts!

EDIT: I'm open to ideas for a holiday theme if anyone has a clever suggestion!

Apologies for the lack of updates recently.

Following a LOT of changes both in my living situation & medication, I'm happy to announce that I will be able to resume commission work by July. All currently on-hold commissions will be completed before then. Do note that since I will be working part-time, slots will be a lot more limited, and turnaround might take a small hit. I expect to be able to take a minimum of 2 full tfs per month, possibly more if I get smaller ones. I'm really looking forward to doing art on a more regular basis again.

Very sorry for the lack of updates on FA. I've mostly been giving them on my twitter.
TLDR: Some follow-up healthcare steps after my hospitalization have left me unable to open comms again for some time. I can and will work on what has been paid but I cannot give an estimate as to when I will be able to do proper sales again. Changes in medication have made even catching up on the little work I have feel like a mountain marathon and my housing situation has been equally a fuck.

You might have seen my post today about a possible idle game project. As I can't work right now, the lack of projects and things to do has really been getting to me, and I think something that isn't drawing would be good for me. There are more details on the post, but feel free to tell me what you think about the idea here as well.

Hi everyone,

Following the final death of my GPU, as well as a brief hospitalization, I am putting all commission work on hiatus. Currently paid comms will be completed when I receive my replacement part, and unpaid commissions will be put on hold for a minimum period of two months to allow for my recovery. If this is untenable to you, please send a note or email and I will cancel your order at no extra fee.

EDIT: Thanks to a friend's troubleshooting efforts and temporary replacement card, my PC is functional, although downgraded for a bit. Work on already paid commissions will continue after a short break for the holidays.

I want to thank Meitheal for checking on me and moving their community to help, in particular Demin. I am extremely lucky to be surrounded by such selfless and dedicated people who, despite not knowing me personally, have chosen to support me and even assist in replacing my GPU and even providing a significant upgrade. I cannot thank them enough. It means more to me than I have the words for, and I feel more than ever blessed to have met such wonderful people throughout my years of working alongside the furry community. You're all angels.

Unfortunately world is a fuck and job search has not been going well. At this rate, I can barely afford rent this month, and that's if I don't spend a single other dollar, which isn't really reasonable.

Due to personal reasons I've quit my job for now and am full-time back on commissions. I'm still looking for work on the side, so I'm slower than usual. Thank you all for your patience.

One of the benefits of leaving something for a long time is coming back with a fresh set of eyes. I've been revamping a lot of my pages. Among other things, I am officially closing my Patreon. If you were an active patron for the month of September, you now have a permanent, lifetime 10% discount on commissions. Make sure to check your Patreon DMs for the special code!
Due to this, I am thinking about moving operations to KO-FI instead. The interface is just cleaner, works better, and they havn't fucked me over in the past unlike Patreon. So I'm doing a little launch event. It's been a while; sorry for the lack of updates. I have finally moved into a stable housing situation, and started working at a new job. Since I'm fresh, I don't have too much control over my schedule yet, and I still have many hours of training to put in, so I've been very busy with that + getting used to the new place, roommates etc. Therefore I've had very little time for art, and I sincerely apologise for all delays regarding commissions. Massive thanks to all clients for their patience as I go through all these changes in my life.
Hopefully once my training is ongoing and I become a full fledged worker, I will be able to condense my job schedule and keep some days exclusive for arting. In the meantime, please remember that your satisfaction is important to me, and to contact me if there are any problems with your commission. Now for the important news: I hate having to do this, and I know times are hard for everybody, but I will be lowering the Lab Rat discount from 20% to 10%. I've had massive dentist fees and am trying to save up money as I am being forced to move out relatively soon. If this change is untenable for you, I understand. First off my apologies for the slow replies on commission inquiries. Due to family matters that I will not disclose, I am unexpectedly moving out. This is rushed and unplanned, and I might not have access to my PC and a proper work setup for multiple weeks (and havn't been able to access it for a week already. I want to draw, damn it!) . I would like to apologize in advance for the increased delays on commission work because of this.

I'm writing to ask for a little piece of advice. As some of you might know, while I enjoy drawing TF and am infinitely grateful for the support of all the people who watch/fav/commission my TF works, I've been creating that type of content for many years now. like, since 2017. I've created almost 150 commissions in the past four years, and despite enjoying myself, I'm a bit tired of almost only doing large, complex commissions.

So I've been thinking about my branding. I am trying very hard to push adopts, designs and portraits. Part of the issue is that a majority of my followers on this account joined for TF content - which is fine! but it makes it difficult to get attention on my other types of pieces. I'm not going to delete this account, of course, but I was wondering if a rebrand might be in order, renaming this and potentially making a new account, so that my main name becomes less associated with tf. A few years ago I made ChopsAdopts to focus on selling designs and such, but it's very difficult to get new accounts running. I thought maybe if I rename this one and keep punkchops for the new account, the name might help.

I don't really know how to solve this predicament, but I'm open to hearing what y'all have to say. Would a new account be better? What are good tips to get new accounts up to par with older ones? Do you think that I should just keep all my content on this one? Tell me what you think.

EDIT: it turns out you somehow can't change your account name on FA booooo. My plans are FOILED. I'd have to move all my TF content to a different account if I want to keep punkchops as my main name, and I'm not sure if that's a good idea :/

I forgot to write a journal about this earlier, but I recently made an important change to my TERMS OF SERVICE policy.

- You may not use my images or designs as part of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and other cryptocurrency market trends, nor to promote such activities.

This won't apply to most of you, but I just want to be clear on my professional stance: crypto is a pyramid scheme, and if you are not actively, knowingly scamming people through it, you are the one being scammed. It is absolutely forbidden to reupload my art to grift others and use designs I have created to promote NFTs and any other form of crypto (as for my personal stance, I believe participants in crypto markets are actively malicious at worst and complete tools at best. )

In a semi-related update, please note that my pricing scheme will receive an overhaul after the next series of commissions concludes. Some commissions may also change in style more or less drastically to accommodate those changes. Overall as I work longer hours and improve quality on my work the gap between time/energy spent and money made is increasingly unmanageable. I can't output the sheer volumes of work that I used to due to high risk of wrist injuries. It's very likely that I will begin promoting smaller commissions more regularly, such as sketches and portraits.

I'll be brief as I have a lot of work to catch up on. I just wanted to thank everyone for your support all throughout the years and your enthusiasm in helping out. As you've probably read already I came up with a tooth infection (right after my 2nd vaccine at that...) and have struggled with the unexpected costs. Emergency comm slots filled out extremely quickly and I'm very thankful! However, seeing as the volume of comms is much higher than my usual on top of the health issues, please expect my turnaround to be slower than usual.

It's been quite the journey working on my first donation drive since June. You generous folks raised 550$ for my friend's surgery - that's an incredible number! I never expected it to get this big. I also recognize the mistakes I made during the process and the unclear rules and results. If I ever do a donation drive again, I'll be sure to put what I learned into practice and make it much simpler for everyone to participate and know what to expect.

Again I want to thank everyone who donated to help my wonderful friend pay for his surgery and improve his quality of life. We are both incredibly humbled, and grateful. Here is his message to all of you, to conclude this journal:

EDIT: I thought about a Witchbrew-themed donation drive? I could randomize some ingredients, have people donate/vote for them, and then have them affect a character. Every milestone, an ingredient would be added to the brew or something. IDK im spitballin

First off I want to thank all of my clients for your patience with commissions this fall. I was severely ill a few weeks back and fatigue hasn't left me. It's been difficult to draw at all, so commissions have been at a snail's pace for the past two months. I'm very sorry about that.

As well, I've updated my patreon page to include new tiers and benefits. Quoting the update post:

"Here's a brief rundown of the new tiers.
The JERKY tier at 3$ returns and gives you access to some wips, but most importantly, basically all patrons will get first dibs on commissions. I think that's a pretty nice incentive, personally - I'll also be running polls and suggestion posts regarding future commission themes and whatnot.

At 10$ the PORKCHOP tier is a pretty large increase, but it nets you 10% off on any and all commissions. It can save you a lot in the long run! I'm still not sure if it should stack with the Lab Rat discount, since 30% is just massive. Give me your thoughts!

Finally at 25$ the SIRLOIN tier is, quote, "really just here for the flex". I honestly don't expect anyone to want to flex that hard on supporting me, but I'm thankful if it happens! I might think of something later for Sirloin patrons. Suggestions are open for that too.""
