A sad day, My dear friend Figaro is gone . . .
General | Posted 14 years agoWell well. A lot has definately happened as I have came back
My readjustment has gone pretty smoothly. I got my job back taeching little kids how to beat each other up, I get to hang out with all of my friends, including ones that I haven't seen for 3 and half years, and just all around have a good time!
It's been kind of hard seeing how different some things are. Some of my friends have different personalities and such. Some are married, some have girlfriends, and so on ^_^;. All in all it's not to bad, since life is all about change, and I plan just to go with the flow.
Today however was quite a rough day. My dear pet cat Figaro had to be put down. He had been struggling with kidney failure. The vets couldn't do much about it. He was 17 years old and that is about as old as a cat usually gets. He could've used a treatment that would relieve the pain for a short period of time, but in the end the pain would come back, and it would be only a matter time when he would pass away. Our family couldn't stand seeing Figaro in pain like those, so we had to make the hard decision of putting him down. This morning Me and my mom watched the vet give Figaro the lethal injection of anesthetic that put him to sleep and eventually stopped his heart. I shed quite a few tears as my mom held on to me and cried. It was a very hard site indeed. We came home and I got started on digging the hole to bury our cat. It took a while because of the tough Georgia clay. We placed the bin holding our deceased cat and we said a few words. I said how I appreciated him being there for us. Not doing anything too special or anything, just simply being there. All in all that is all we needed, and Figaro did that wonderfully. He brought a sense of calm in peace into our home. My mom shared how she appreciated Figaro being there as we grew up, and giving us nice memories of playing with string.
It all started when my mom went into a pet shop. My brother and her were planning on just browsing the cats, but as they went into the kitty room, this black cat crawled up right into her lap and started to purr. This is what started it all.
One of the earliest and fondest memories I have of my cat is when we brought him home and decided to give him the name of Figaro. Afterwards we must have spent hours just petting him. I was fascinated with how Figero would purr when I pet him. I would pet pet pet him, and then press my ear to his stomach to hear him purr. What a wonderful memory that is.
I don't know everyone elses belief on this, but I believe without any doubt that Figaro is doing a lot better, and that one day I will see my dear friend again. Heaven wouldn't be heaven without my wonderful friend who was there for the majority of my childhood.
Rest in peace my dear friend Figaro.

My Mission
General | Posted 14 years agoWell well, I have been meaning to write about this a bit sooner, but since I have gotten back I have been running ragged. I still haven't even unpacked! ^_^;;
Well anyway I guess I would like to start off explaining a little bit. As most of you know I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. If you are still confused you can go to https://www.mormon.org and that might help you out with any questions that you might have. As a member of the church we have the option to serve a 2 year mission. While serving, we go out and share messages about how the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored through a prophet named Joseph Smith, and how we can find out if he trully was a prophet by reading a book called the Book of Mormon. Once again if you want to know more about the messages you can check out the website.
During my service I had many many wonderful experiences. Some good, some bad, and some very halerious. All of them contribute into the person that I am now. All in all if I were to summerize the lessons I have learned due to my experiences I would say the following: I now know what is trully important in this life, the Eternal Things. Many things come in go in our lives, but our friends, our families, and especially our Heavenly Father will always be there. Because of our Savior Jesus Christ, not even death can seperate us. Holding on to the eternal things can give us an achor of peace and happiness that is everlasting. I also know to be true to myself, create my own path, and take people with me. A lot of the time in the past I was very much just a people pleaser. I did whatever made others happy. Most of all I have learned to trust in the promises that my Heavenly Father has made for me. Doing this has given me a wonderful joy and peace that I will never forget
As I have said I have many experiences. some of which are quite funny. For example on my very first day I was preparing to go to bed. The rest of the missionaries in my appartment where suspeciously playing uno when it was time to go to bed. I decided not to worry about it. I had the top bunk so I hoisted myself up and placed one knee on the matress. To my great shock the matress gave away and I began a 6 foot blummet towards the bottom bunk. I bounced and landed safely on the matress like a skilled pole vaulter. For a second I didn't know what the heck happened, but the I had realized that I had been punked. "Ahhhh dang it!" The other missionaries in triumphant cries ran in and said "YEEAAAH LETS WATCH THE REPLAY!" I have to say that is the funniest freakin video ever! Also later in my escapades I tried my hand at the cinnamon challange. This challenge include having to swallow a tea spoon of cinnamon as fast as you can. My plan was to swallow it as you would bad tasting medecine, as quick as possible. Once again to my suprise the cinnamen did not go down as planned and proceeded to burn the crap out of my face. I ran to the sink and had a coughing fit. As I was dying at the sink the other missionaries who had filmed me doing this were reviewing their replay footage while I was at the sink suffering. It something I can say that I did, however it is not something I don't plan on doing again ^_^;;. One last humorous story that I looooove telling is about this middle aged latina woman. THis was when I was in spanish work. This lady preferred speaking english in her thick latina accent. She invited us to dinner and we sat around talking about music. The latina woman rambled about how she used to be in a mariachi band. She serinaded us with several of her songs. She then shifted the conversation and asked me what I liked to listen to. Like a good missionary I said calm and good artists that I liked such as Journey or the Cars. She leaned in close and said "Do you like Matellica?" I was quite taken aback from this . . . "Uhhh, yeah! They're actually one of my favorites." I replied honostly. The next statement will be forever burned in my memory. In the thickest middle aged woman latina accent she proceeded to say "Ohhh jees, Metallica is da best. Black album is my favorite." with hands raised proudly over her head she drops the following lines. "Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire!" You guys have NOOOO idea how hard it was not to die of laughter right there.
As well as the funny moments I have had wonderful experiences that I will never forget. There are many, but at this time just to make things a bit shorter I want to share just one experience that I had, an experience that single handidly proved to me that the Gospeel of Jesus Christ trully can heal us, and that miracles trully happen.
We had just went to the temple fasting and praying for a miracle. The work had been going slow. We came back and broke our fast with some burgers. As we were in the middle of our meal a woman called us and asked if we could come to visit her. The next couple of days later we went over to her appartment. She seemed a little comfused at first. I thought she knew what we did, but we later find out that she was just very lonely. She didn't own the whole apartment. She could only afford a small room within the apartment. The complex was in a very sketchy part of town, and it was ridden with cockroaches. All this lady had to her name was a pile of cloths, a TV, an old foam matress and a dresser. She was living off of dicability because of her numerous mental and health conditions. Her kids had moved on. One of them she has no idea where she is, and the other is a good son, but can be kind of hurtful at times. When we first met her, it was problem after problem. She was in a deep chasm of depression and darkness. Her life seemed to be a eternal spiral downward. We did everything we could to help her. We tried finding a new mattress, helping her look for things to do instead of wallowing in her room in misery, and mostly trying to help her rely on our Heavenly Father who can help us when we are in our darkest hours. For a long time it seemed that she wasn't really going anywhere. We committed her to look for just one miracle during the week, and to tell us about it the next time we come. At first she struggled and just said little things like "laundry went well that day" or something. However, as the weeks went by, the miracles became more and more numerous. One day we came over and she had a wide smile on her face. She told us that today she was only going to say good things that happened, and not say anything bad. This was a wonderful moment. I will never forget the smile on her face, or the excitement in her eyes. SHe held up the Book of Mormon and stated that she had read it that day and it finally made sense to her. She had gained a testamony and was now relying on our Heavenly Father. There was a time where she was afraid to go to church, but we promised her that if she went to church that that would be the day that her life would change. Because she went to church she finally felt like she belonged. She has people in her life now that care about her and will help her whenever she needs it, because we believe in following the example of Jesus Christ by rendering service and kindess to others, our fellow brothers and sisters. She was soon baptized and that was probably one of the most tender moments of my life. It has trully given me a testamony of the truthfullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and how it trully can heal us and lift us up when we need it.
I tell of these experiences not to boast, or say how great this church is. If anything, I don't want anyone to think that I'm sitting here preaching and promoting my church as a salesman would promote his or her product. I tell of these experiences to merely share my knowledge of how I know these things to be true. I cannot promote, coax, or persuade anyone to believe anything. What I have done during my mission, and what I plan to do until the day I die is to invite people to find out for themselves if these things are true or not. This is done by reading the Book of Mormon, a record of God's dealings with the ancient americans which was found and translated by the power of God by the prophet Joseph Smith. I know all who read this book, and ask God of its truthfullness can find out if these things are true. The answer is either Yes, or no, and God will not lead us astray.
I appreciate those who took the time to read of my experiences in my mission. Once again it was something that is very dear to me, and something that I feel so previladged to have participated in. I love the people who I have met and all the good times that I have had, but most of all I love the closeness that I now feel with my Heavenly Father.
I wish all of you the best. Keep in touch and lead your life the way that I have decided from this day forward. Be forever true to yourself, your family, and your God. I love you all. Take Care!

Well, it's been quite a wonderful year as a furry! As many of you may know, I am a Mormon-tastic Mormon, and as such, I am planning on serving a full two year mission for my church. I will be going to San Fernando California, a Spanish speaking mission, and I will be teaching people about my church. This is something I've been wanting to do all my life and the time has finally come that I get to. So, This friday I leave for Provo Utah, and I report to the Missionary Training Center (MTC) On November 11th.
What a wonderful opportunity and blessing it has been to be able to meet so many wonderful and kind people. Becoming in a furry in the summer of 2008 has been one of the greatest things to happen to me in my entire life. All my life I have been somewhat of a black sheep, a social outcast. I was fine with it, I didn't mind sitting in the corner and doing my own thing. I had a couple of good friends here and there and I was pretty happy, but becoming a furry and meeting all of you wonderful people was a turning point in my life. For once I felt like I actually fit in with a group of people who cared for me and who I was. I want to begin by saying thank you to all of those who entered into my life and made me so happy. Being able to be around people who enjoyed my presence just as much as much as I enjoyed theirs made all the difference in my life.
As I leave for these two years there are a couple of things that I want all of you guys to know. First and foremost is that I am so glad that all of you guys have entered into my life. I hope that when the day comes when I return that I will be able to see all of you guys again once more, and be able to enjoy your guys' presence. Oh, how I look forward to the day when we shall be reunited and I be able to be with the people I love so dearly. Another thing I want you guys to know is that all of you guys are good people. I know some of you people may feel bad because of my super Mormon-tasticness may be pretty dang prevalent sometimes, but I'm hear to say that I am not here to judge. Having met you guys and been around you guys I know for a fact that you all are kind and caring people, and I hope that none of you will let anyone tell you otherwise. Lastly I want to say that you guys are like a family to me. Some of you are always reminding me of how much you love me, and some of you are always concerned about my safety and well being. Having this love and care for me makes my heart sing with joy. Even though I have known you guys for a short period of time, it feels as though I have known you guys all my life. As our paths part for this two year period, I want everyone to know that I love you all very much. You all mean the world to me, and I wish only the best for each and every one of you guys. Take care of yourselves, and remember who you are and what makes you happy in this life. For I know who I am, and the one thing that has made me happy in this life, is the companionship and love that you guys have given to me
Thanks for everything,

Lastly I want to say that you guys are like a family to me. Some of you are always reminding me of how much you love me, and some of you are always concerned about my safety and well being. Having this love and care for me makes my heart sing with joy. Even though I have known you guys for a short period of time, it feels as though I have known you guys all my life. As our paths part for this two year period, I want everyone to know that I love you all very much. You all mean the world to me, and I wish only the best for each and every one of you guys. Take care of yourselves, and remember who you are and what makes you happy in this life. For I know who I am, and the one thing that has made me happy in this life, is the companionship and love that you guys have given to me
Thanks for everything,
-Pyro The Husky (AKA Daniel Paul Clark) (AKA Elder Clark) (EDIT!! Especially AKA Elder PYRO! ^_^)
(EDIT PS. If you would like to send a note containing your e-mail and address so we can keep in touch feel free to do so)

N-N-N-NEW YEARS!!!
General | Posted 17 years agoJust browsing over stuff, I decided to steal this journal question thingy from hero hero who has also stolen it apparently. XD
So, here goes...
_________________________________________________________
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Break up with a Girlfriend >.<
Discover a cool new fandom and create a fursuit.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Well, one of my new years resolutions was to be able to bench 200 lbs. I actually tried for a while, but my laziness took over and that goal just kind of petered out.
I guess I'll try to set more for next year, if I can think of any, but being a very passive and lazy guy doesn't help much with the whole achieving goals thing ^_^.
3. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?
My parants are planning something at my house, so I'm going to try to escape and see if any of my friends are planning anything. I'm looking at you Eddie O_o.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no.
5. What countries did you visit?
Aww man, i want to travel so bad >_<.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
Hmm . . . i guess more patience with myself. I sometimes get frustrated pretty easily. I don't know, for the most part I'm pretty much content the way things are now. . .
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
When Eddie (Zip) freaked out when I asked him if he was a furry or not XD. It was so exciting finding someone who shared the same interests as I did. We have become very good friends ^(^o^)^
I also said good bye to some of my closest friends. Josh and Dario are currently on missions, and (another Josh) went off to boot camp so he could join the Navy.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Taking the time to learn new things (fursuiting and drawing)
9. What was your biggest failure?
When I screwed stuff up with me and my girlfriend. I'm pretty much over it by now though, so i don't view it as a complete failure. I'm actually really enjoying single life.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I got strep for a while. It was pretty cool because it was a whole week of being a bum ^_^
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A Red Octane Afterburner (Metal DDR pad) It's so awesome, it'll melt your face off!
12. Where did most of your money go?
Well, mostly to my DDR pad, and a couple basically to go out and do fun stuff with my friends (movies and such)
13. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Hmm. . . I can't really pinpoint it to only one song. I'd say it's a tie between In Bloom by Nirvana, The Riddle by Gigi D'Agostino, and Rock That Beat by The Highstreet Allstars XD.
14. What do you wish you'd done more of?
I wish I could have done a lot more chilling at my house. Meeting new friends and having multiple friend propose multiple things to do tend to build my schedule up quite a bit ^_^. But then again, I think I had more fun with my friends then I would have just lying around at the house . . .
15. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Work.
Lol, ummm . . . good questions ^_^ . . .
16. What was your favorite TV program?
That 70s show. It may not be totally accurate of how the 70s really is, but it's a very down-to-earth show with humor that makes me laugh every time.
17. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I'm a lot like Eddie on this one, it takes A LOT to make me hate anyone, me being the passive guy that I am ^_^
18. What was the best book you read?
i think i read Call of the Wild again, which is one of my favorites. Peeps was pretty good, and I'm currently listening to a book on tape called White Fang.
19. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Lost Horizon. No other band has ever re-defined the word "Facemelter" more then this band has ^_^
20. What was your favorite film of this year?
Three Words "Bolt! Zoom zoom!" Lol XD
Of coarse Dark Night was pretty much awesomeness.
21. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I did multiple things, I had a get together one week, and the next week I had a sweet rave party with glowsticks and everything ^_^.
22. What kept you sane?
sane? O_o
23. Who did you miss?
My dear friends Josh and Dario who are away on their missions right now. I also missed (another Josh) who went to boot camp to join the Navy (gee this sentence sounds familier.)
24. Who was the best new person you met?
Zip, zip zip zip. He is one of those people that you come accross every so often. Meeting him opened up to a while spectrum of new friends, and it has made my year that much better ^_^.
25. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
(nothing that I would not already have known before, but some things were very present this year)
Know your social boundries. I tried to be funny and brake up this Mexican grinding train at homecoming. Not only did i failed misserably, but i almost got jumped >_<
