About New Commission Prices
General | Posted 5 years agoSo, some of you may have noticed that a couple prices changed when I updated my commission sheet this time! While I was re-making my commission sheet to be more twitter friendly, I noticed a few prices that just seemed a little awkward. Like full color chibis only costing $5 more than their flat color counterparts, despite how much work that extra step adds.
Prices went up on a few things just to make things a little more fair for me, although one option did get a little cheaper.
I don't plan to change my prices again this year though, so don't worry!

July Commission Status
General | Posted 5 years agoCommissions are gonna stay closed for the first week or so of July while I try to play catch up on my queue. When I reopen commissions, I will not be accepting any more full color comms for the entirety of the month! I'll still be offering sketches, lines, and flat colors for all commission types.
Next month is probably going to be another month where I have to open for a significant amount of work, so I really need to spend the next week or two playing catch up so that I don't feel guilty having to reopen. Commissions for next month will start being offered AFTER I finish three or four of the things I'm currently working on.
The option to order Deluxe Drink Headshots will also be gone for good. From now on if you want a commission done in that style, you'll have to order a Full Color Waist Up with a BG. This means they'll now feature more of the character commissioned, but will also be a lot pricier than they were before. They also won't be listed as a separate commission option on my price sheet anymore. I'll make a note about it somewhere in the description of my commission info tho.

Deluxe Drink Headshots No Longer Offered
General | Posted 5 years agoSmall update coming to my commission info soon. I'm no longer gonna offer deluxe drink headshots.
They take a LOT of work and a lot of thinking on my part to get them to work just right, and there's just no way for me to make the price fair for all involved parties. They're already pretty pricy, with most of them running closer to $50, than $35, but I feel like that's not enough for the amount of work involved, especially for the intricate ones. They end up taking more effort than about half of my full color, full body pieces do... But I also don't want to charge more than $50 for a headshot, no matter how intricate it is. So they're gonna get the axe.
My commission sheet will be edited and re-uploaded when I next open for commissions to reflect this change!

June Commissions
General | Posted 5 years agoGoing to have to reopen for commissions starting, like, today, even though I haven't finished much work! This month is going to be SUPER tight. I'm working with a budget for food, hygiene, etc. of only $200, which is... half as much as I normally have. I'll try to finish at least THREE of the commissions I currently have by the end of the week, as well as get sketches out to people ASAP.
Goal for this month will be $200 - $300 in commission work minimum.
I wanted to play catch up and completely clear my queue before reopening, but that's just NOT happening this month.
I'm going to try to speed up the pace I work at, but please be patient with me!
This development has me VERY stressed.

General | Posted 5 years agoOkay! My schedule should be back to normal now! Things are evening out for me and starting tomorrow, I'll be back to trying to work a little more regularly!
I'm sorry for all the delays, and thanks for being patient!!
My goal for now will be to finish inking everything by the end of Sunday, and get at least one commission fully finished as well.
I'll try to get the things I have still in the sketching phase ready for approval withing the next week.
I'll need to open for about $100 of work as soon as I can finish at least one commission tho...
Still have a bill to pay.
UPDATE:
It's tomorrow but I feel like someone has beat about my head and shoulder with a baseball bat and there's no way I'm going to get anything done today.
I'll try again tomorrow if my pain subsides.

Delays
General | Posted 5 years agoGoing to be one final set of delays. I was planning to get back to work today, 'cause I was feeling good again... but last night turned into a nightmare and today's also probably going to be a real bad day.
I got hit by the fortnite Nintendo hackers right before I was about to get ready for bed so I hardly slept which left me in a lot of pain, and now have to fight to get a refund.
I also can't find my wallet. But wherever it is, it's probably safe cause I haven't had any weird charges on my bank besides the Nintendo thing.
Just. Give me another couple days.

Update!!
General | Posted 5 years agoOkay, as I told most of my commissioners this week, I haven't been working much because I've been stressed out from car shopping.
Well, today we finally got our car!! It's an older car, but we really couldn't ask for something better for the price we paid. There were only 75k miles on it, it gets good gas mileage, it was clean inside and out, has no accidents on record, and runs quiet and smooth. We drove it around a few hours today and nothing went weird and no alert lights went off!
I'm a lot more relaxed now and in a day or two I should get back to work.
I'll edit this journal tomorrow to include my normal commission status info. I'm on mobile rn and it's too much of a pain to do.

Work Delays
General | Posted 5 years agoSorry guys, there's going to be another delay on commission work! I *definitely* pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve last week either while working, or maybe when I played with one of the dogs-- cause I got to work right after.
There's a pain in my upper back, right between my shoulder blades, that goes up my neck, into my shoulders, and makes my arms go numb. Sometimes it's unnoticeable, but sometimes it's like there's a knife or four jammed into the base of my neck and one of my shoulders. Unfortunately, holding a pencil or my tablet pen and attempting to draw is one of the things that aggravates it. I'm trying to take some steps to lessen my pain, but until I figure out exactly where the pain is originating from... there's not really anything I can do to make it better.
I'm really frustrated 'cause I was super excited to be able to get work done finally, and 'cause I really have to get at least $80 - $125 worth of new commissions ASAP to finish paying a bill.
Not going to lie, normally I'd be happy to have an excuse not to work... but I was just at the point where I WANTED to work again! I wanted to finish all the things I owe and make my clients smile and feel proud of myself for finishing everything, And now I have no choice but to step back for a few days.
I'll let everyone know as SOON as I'm able to hold my tablet pen again without crying.
Also, remember to check out my friend marinehaddock, he's super sweet and deserves some attention.

They're starting to use FA for the first time in a long while, and he could use some attention and maybe a commission or two. He mostly draws Kamen Rider and tokusatsu fan art, so he specializes in humans and monsters and the like. Give him some love, he deserves it.
On another note:
There's going to be a slight delay on commissions.
I hurt my neck and shoulders a few days ago while working, put something out of place most likely, and it's almost impossible for me to draw at the moment.
I need just a couple days to work the injury out.
I still plan to have all my sketches fully approved by the end of the week!
Once the sketches are finished completely, it shouldn't take me long to finish the flat color commissions.

General | Posted 5 years agoI'll only open them AFTER I finish the chibi I owe wildcatpilot and after all the rough sketches for current commissions are approved. I'll work on refining those sketches this week and probably host a series of livestreams once that's done while I ink and color them.
Reached a good point with my commissions, so reopening for another couple slots!
Aiming for $100 or so so I can finish paying a credit bill and replenish my bank account after I splurged on something I really, really wanted.
Once I earn that amount, or just slightly more, I'll close commissions and will not reopen until at least half of my queue has been finished.

Work Update
General | Posted 5 years agoThings have calmed down since my last update! Finances are returning to normal a little earlier than we anticipated, but I'm still stressed.
I will be doing my best to get back to work tomorrow! I aim to have at least two commissions finished by the end of the week end. I'll also aim to have at least one of my unsketched commissions sketched... but I don't make any promises on that.
Goals for the week:

Life Update + Work Plans
General | Posted 5 years agoOk, so, going to take a moment here to update everyone on what's going on irl for me and what it's going to mean for my current work load and future work. Things have taken a pretty bad turn here financially. And I really gotta take a good luck at all aspects of my work and personal life.
My mom's friend moved in with us in January. This was supposed to make life easier on all three of us. But it has done the exact opposite. All three of us are on SSI, meaning we're all legally disabled and on VERY fixed budgets. We knew our rent would go up when she moved in with us, but we didn't expect it to go up as much as it has, and our roommate is having money troubles. I won't go into full detail, just know that our rent has increased a LOT more than we expected. Mom and I have gotten used to living on a tight budget, but we're about to move to a shoe string budget. I'll be working on less than half the money I normally have for the foreseeable future.
This situation will continue for AT LEAST the next 6 months until we can afford to move. We're on housing assistance, so once we move into a bigger and more expensive place... our rent will actually go down again. (Don't ask. The government doesn't make sense.) I'm extremely stressed and worried about the future and have been in mental and physical distress as a result. However, I gotta just buckle down and get moving now. I'm the only one in this household capable of making extra money atm.
Because of this, I will be taking a good, hard look at my commission prices and the way I approach my work.
I don't expect my prices to go up much, if at all, but I might have to tweak things just a little here and there.
If my prices DO change, they will NOT effect anyone currently commissioning me, of course.
Until now I've just kind of been working when I feel up to it, which isn't often at all to be honest and the main reason I take so long to get things done, but I'm going to try to get more of a schedule going.
An hour or two a day, maybe, or else more regular, scheduled livestreams so that I have at a few set days that I HAVE to work.
My commissions are no longer going to be MOSTLY supplementary, with half the money going to just things I want. They are now 100% necessary.
I'm going to get back to work on my current commissions tomorrow with the goal of finishing at least two and getting as many sketched as possible by the 1st.
I will reopen for TWO commissions as soon as I can finish at least those two commissions.
Please bear with me as I adjust to our new situation and my new work schedule and keep an eye out for any potential changes in price.

Changed commission prices a little. No really major changes. Most of the prices I changed only went up $5, tho one thing did go up $10 for balance.

Work Delays
General | Posted 5 years agoGoing to be some delays on commission work. I've been really sick for the last week and really haven't been able to get my head in the game.
It's nothing serious. It's not the flu or corona virus or anything anyone has to be worried about. Just a really, really bad allergy week. I've just been sneezing and sniffling and coughing for days. Coughing so much has kinda spiked my pain levels again so it's been really hard for me to sit down and work. Had a low grade fever for a day or so when it first hit, but tylenol was enough to knock that out and I haven't had my temp go up since. Nothing bad, it's all just left me kinda spacy and in pain is all.
In a couple days everything should clear up and I can get back to work.
As soon as I feel good enough to focus, I'll try to knock out a couple sketches.

I still need to make another $100 this month to be fully comfortable. However, since I am comfortable for now, I can afford to be a little picky and am switching to a "semi-open" status.
I'm still taking commissions, but I really want to draw some Girls.
90% of my female commissions have been chibis, so I don't get a whole lot of chances to draw girls... I'm just a humble gay and want more girl...
(Cis, trans, and nb girls (but heavily fem presenting), are all okay, by the way: they are all beautiful ladies. So long as they present female and have some curve? Give me some tits for once, basically. I'm thirsty and gay.)
So, like, at the moment I might turn down commission requests for male/male presenting OCs until the next time I completely reopen, unless I really like the prompt or character(s).
I'm falling out of practice when it comes to drawing girls and that makes me sad. :'C I'm too gay to forget how to draw women...

Streaming Later This Week
General | Posted 5 years agoGoing to stream a couple times this week! I'm thinking one of those times will be tomorrow, but I'm not 100%.
Tomorrow I have some errands to run so it might be later in the week.
I need to make commission progress and I think in stream is the best way to do it.
The first stream will consist mostly of sketching and refining sketches. The second stream could be any combination of sketching, inking, and coloring depending on how much work I get done.
Both streams have a small chance of being NSFW, cause my big priority is getting Blitz's ref off the ground.

General | Posted 5 years agoGoing to reopen commissions in a few days. I'm about to be finished with two of my current commissions, so if I can just get the sketches out for a few of the other things on my list I can re-open.
I need to make a minimum of $250 this month. Half of that money is for food and bills, and the other half will be for buying things just to make me feel good cause finances are gonna get REAL tight starting next month and I won't be able to buy anything fun for awhile. Our rent is skyrocketing starting in April so we have to tighten our belts... but I want to buy myself Animal Crossing and another Kamen Rider figure to make myself feel better about things. Maybe see a movie or two. Mostly I will do Necessary Adult Things, but this time I will prioritize having fun and spoiling myself.

Slow Week
General | Posted 6 years agoThis ended up being a really slow week end. I was so excited about packages that were coming that I barely got any work done at all. I get tunnel vision when it comes to things I'm excited about, so... things just sorta halted.

General | Posted 6 years agoI'm very behind on commissions and have adjusted to the new wacom tablet I picked up, so I'll be attempting to work today or tomorrow.
If I can't motivate myself to work, then I'll probably do a livestream. As always, the pressure from someone watching me is usually enough to get me in the zone.
If I do stream then the stream will be PG-13/mild NSFW for latex/bondage themes, but shouldn't be anything hard core.
Today's goal will be one or two sketches, some line art, and some shading.
I have to finish at least 3 - 4 commissions by the 20th at the latest so that I can reopen for a couple more slots before the end of the month. My finances are really unstable this month... I wanted to take the month off from taking new commissions, but that's not gonna happen.
