Heya everyone, it's been a second!

Apologies for not being nearly as present lately, I've been absolutely swamped with school and graduation upcoming which has me freaking out a bit, but also because I've been putting off writing this due to being unsure how to put it. So let's just hop right into it. You may have already noticed my new profile icon on a few places so I'll just confirm, I have a new sona! Still an opossum, couldn't get away from those lil gremlin rascals, but you'll notice he isn't a gal like Emily. I'm still struggling to fin the right words, but I've been doing a lot of soul searching lately, and I've come to the realization that I'm actually comfortable in my male body on my own terms, and ok with being referred to as a male and by my birth name again. Not that I was "wrong" or even "confused" for thinking that, or that I even regret being Emily, or however you wanna put it. Emily was an important part of my journey to being comfortable in my own body, and just so I don't start scaring a few people, EMILY THE OPOSSUM IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE. I still love her, I'll still be getting art with her, I'll still see her as a part of me. But I'm figuring out what it means to be male on my own terms, not anyone elses. With that in mind, and I know what my FA still says, lousy site doesn't allow you to change usernames, when referring to me as a person I'd like to be referred to with he/him pronouns, and with the name Rye (or my birth name, but only if you really know me). My discord and twitter usernames have already been changed, so don't be afraid to see that new face!

As for the "QueenEmily" username on here, it seems like too much work to make a second account and try and balance the two. So both Rye and Emily art will be posted here. And again, Emily is not going anywhere. I know they're both opossums and Rye is the new icon of my presence, but the two have different personalities that I'll be using for different art prompts and commissions. However, expect Rye to be more of the "central" fursona for me, as he represents my new gender identity. Thank you for understanding, and don't be afraid to DM me if your confused or have questions. Alright well, I've been putting this off for a few days.

I don't wanna get into too much specifics but I feel anyone who I haven't already filled in deserves an explanation.

Basically the past month took a toll on me. A huge one. From my boyfriend breaking up with me to housing issues to living at home to the stress of starting school up again, it seemed like the world was out to get me. And it broke me for a while. I was just absolutely miserable for a while and I was worried I was taking it out on people I cared about and just completely shut myself off. I deleted Discord off my phone for a bit, signed out of twitter for a while, and just stayed off FA.

I'm back now, and I think I'm mostly doing better. Luca and I are still thankfully on good terms. There was no major breakup fight or anything dumb like that and we're still good friends. It just hurt for a little bit. I've started school and it really isn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be, and I've (finally) moved into my new house and I'm starting to get settled in. That's just the big thing that broke me.

I've told this to enough people and I really don't wanna get into it again but basically, our new house that we signed the lease on was an absolute fucking mess when we moved in. I'm talking exposed outlets, I'm talking trash all over the floor, I'm talking all the crappy furniture the previous tenants didn't want was pushed to the living room in a giant pile of crap no one wanted. It was a damn mess, and our landlord gave us hell when we complained. We had moments of debating pursuing legal action, but in the end he managed to clean it up enough for us to feel decently comfortable in it, and we've already made good progress on cleaning most of it up. The whole situation just took everything out of me and I genuinely didn't know at the time how I was gonna figure it out. And while I'm not doing 100% just yet, I feel confident enough to come back, and even upload some art I got the other day, so be on the lookout for that.

Kinda wanna keep this brief but, life has not been kind to me for the last while and yesterday made me reach my breaking point. I don’t really think I can handle keeping up appearances right now so I think it would be best if I just took a break from Twitter/discord/FA/etc. for a bit. Sorry to everyone, I don’t really know when I’ll be back.
