Sinking Artist Friday! Featured Artist is Gynesis
Posted 2 years agoHello! This weeks artist is
Gynesis , soft liquidy muddy shiny tarry mess extraordinaire!
What got you into the WAM/QS community?
I blame early 2000's Nickelodeon.
How long have you been drawing art/ mud content?
Hmm.. pretty much off and on since I was a kid, but wasn't able to do it properly until 2017-- so, yes😇
What do you want to contribute that you haven't already?
Maybe a new or different take on submersion scenes. There seems to be so many different ways to do it. I wanna come up with two. Two and a half sounds good.
Is there another QS community artist you'd like to nominate to be featured?
How about,
Lady-of-mud ?
What's your favourite piece/series you've done?
Probably the Deep Regret comic-- it's ancient, but it's what helped me meet all the cool people I have in the community-- and that, I don't regret at all c:

Posted 2 years agoHappy Tuesday to y'all! This week's artist is
-Goatsludge- , SCUBA/gear/waterproofing and sloppy mud specialist!
What got you into the WAM/QS community?
Seeing depictions of the same in shows and movies growing up. The live-action 101 Dalmatians movies had some particularly notable scenes that sparked the kink for me.
How long have you been drawing art/ mud content?
At least since 2016, with one or two hand-drawn pieces as early as 2014.
What do you want to contribute that you haven't already?
Perhaps animations or 3D models, but that's a bit out of my capabilities.
Is there another QS community artist you'd like to nominate to be featured?
K-Henry would be my nomination.
What's your favourite piece/series you've done?
Probably 'Clay'd You Like a Fiddle', my entry for MechNub's 'Muddy Summer' collab (if I'm remembering the title correct): https://furaffinity.net/view/47869797/

Posted 2 years agoHello again! This week's featured artist is Gita (
AnonymousGuitar) , slime dragon extraordinaire :3
What got you into the WAM/QS community?
I was definitely the type to see mud, slime, and the like in the saturday morning cartoons and wonder why they were framed in such a negative light! Surely getting slimed had to be tons of fun, so naturally I started drawing exactly that! And very shortly therafter finding a wonderful sphere of wonderfuly messy, sinky who enjoy the very same thing!
How long have you been drawing art/ mud content?
A solid 8-ish years now, off and on, if my count is correct!
What do you want to contribute that you haven't already?
Lots more simulation and animation, both 2D and 3D! If I had infinite time and money, this'd be my full time focus! But regardless, continuing to improve what I can make is always what I want to do!
Is there another QS community artist you'd like to nominate to be featured?
-goatsludge- without a doubt! Very cute goat with a very good handle on drawing good muck and goop!
What's your favourite piece/series you've done?
Honestly, the latest one I've made! (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50482525/) Decent simulation on top of what I'd consider my best animating work yet, it all came out super good, and I really hope people enjoy it!

Posted 2 years agoHello! Another Sinking Artist Sunday rolls around (in mud). This week is featuring
drawnout18 (Tyler Mann), creator of the Quicksand Kid comic series!
What got you into the WAM/QS community?
Well, when I was a child, I watched this movie a lot called The Neverending Story. There's a pretty extended sequence in which Atreyu is slogging through a swamp, falling down muddy hills and sinking into quicksand. I remember thinking a lot "Oh that looks like fun." It also didn't help that I had a ton of Goosebumps books by RL Stine that involved quicksand, mud monsters, slime, blobs, etc, all absorbing or eating characters. I heavily remember and still have the book cover of the Give Yourself Goosebumps #6 Beware Of The Purple Peanut Butter in which a guy is reaching out of a giant sandwich covered in thick purple goo. That and Monster Blood, both the book and the episode. Oh I cannot forget a few choice "game over scenes" from Dragons Lair the video game that had a lot of green and black slime, and mud monsters! Since then, I've always been fascinated and VERY into slime and quicksand related stuff. It was my first foray into discovering vore, similar themes of being consumed, helpless, surrounded, slimy, mucky, etc.
How long have you been drawing art/ mud content?
Since I discovered DeviantArt in Comm Tech class in High School! I didn't grow up with the internet, so school was my only way to discover stuff, and I remember a lot of Google searches of things that turned me on at the time. When a friend in class said I should use DeviantArt to start uploading my graphic design stuff, I found a lot of art and comics with all those themes, and I wanted to draw and write stuff myself, so I started doing old crappy art and just putting it up. I think my earliest stuff was around 2007? I didn't start doing anything professionally until 2013 when I graduated college, but I've been drawing this kinda stuff for about 16 years now, wow!
What do you want to contribute that you haven't already?
I'm VERY envious of people who seem to have tons of money to make mud pools and vats in their backyards, so they can safely enjoy quicksand sinking IRL, or the people who find these perfect secluded quarries in the middle of nowhere they can get naked and roll around or sink in. I've certainly done the whole slime bathtub thing, picked up a big tub of slime mix from MessySupplies (not sponsored, just recommend) which is nice, but not the same as having a whole lake bed of mud to enjoy.
Is there another QS community artist you'd like to nominate to be featured?
I nominate one of my oldest friends, one of the first people I met online who drew vore and slime and quicksand and sinking stuff that got me into it, has amazing art, and even invented my fursona for me so he could draw it in those perilous situations, and that's
TheCruelSeasons . He's done amazing art, and some comic stuff for me in the past, and I definitely think people check their work out!
What's your favourite piece/series you've done?
It's gotta be Splooge from my comic Kid Quicksand (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47131701/) . I've wanted to make this comic for so long, and now I'm happy with the way the quality of my drawings look, and also just having a nice extended sinking sequence that doesn't end in a grim way, and just shows the feeling of sinking fully under.

Sinking Artist Sunday! Featured Artist is PoweredByGif
Posted 3 years agoSalutations to you this Sinking Sunday, this week's artist is PoweredByGif, bog creature/golem/monster extraordinaire!
"Hey hey, I'm PoweredByGif, aka Bog, I'm 28 and I draw a whole lot of muddy and swampy creatures more than anything!"
What got you into the WAM/QS community?
It was long time before I even knew such community was a thing - first it was that quicksand scene from The Jungle Book movie that really intrigued me (the one where that guy drowns in this gross loud bog, some of you will probably know :) ), and soon after that, my first real life experiences with deep mud, both when I was still around 10y/o. Over years I kept dabbling in this weird quicksand thing, finding new real-life spots, new content, and doodling it myself on repeat, and it just kind of stuck with me, I guess? It was only when I decided to share it online when others found me, and I was eventually introduced to other like-minded people and the community, which was, hm... quite thrilling at the time, haha. Imagine you suddenly find out you're not the only one!
How long have you been drawing art/mud content?
Easily for over 15 years now, if not 20? I’m pretty sure! But a lot of it was for myself. This fascination for mud stuck with me ever since I discovered it. And since I already loved drawing characters and making comics by then, it was a matter of time for me to start doodling them in some quicksand related situations in my secret notebooks, eventually merging both into one and trying to make all sorts of mud and goop creatures in the process. And it actually took so many years for me to share them online - I considered them kind of a weird and really personal thing that I was ashamed to even mention around, let alone showcase to others, and only when I reached 19 I finally decided to take a deep dive and showcase my swampy creatures to the public. Just as a silly experiment though, and on a brand new, unrelated account for safety as well. I honestly did not believe it would go anywhere, meanwhile it became kind of my thing that many would eventually know me for. It was nearly 10 years now since that deep dive, and my golems are still hanging around until this day.
What do you want to contribute that you haven't already?
There's plenty. I'm not sure what I’ve contributed and what I still need to contribute though. I want to inspire other artists to make more swamp themed creatures, because I feel like swamps and monsters is an untapped niche combination that works beautifully in lots of ways and is still far from being explored. I want to spread the swamp and quicksand themes to a brand new audience, showcasing these environments and their appeal in plenty of casual art and doodles that can be shared safely and aren’t too restricted. But more importantly, I kind of just want to bring fun with my content. I want to create stuff that makes others go "awwhh <3" for 3 seconds before they keep on scrolling through their social media.
Is there another QS community artist you'd like to nominate to be featured?
Sticking with what I’m most familiar with these days, I’d probably have to point the finger at another creator who makes goo creatures –
ThemeFinland ( https://twitter.com/ThemeFinland ). He's godly with art, but also a pretty awesome guy, and definitely deserves some praise!
What's your favourite piece/series you've done?
These change too often, but for now this has to be the one: https://twitter.com/poweredbygif/st.....73204834156544
I love the setting, the scene, the fun situation of it, and the story one could put behind the characters.

What got you into the WAM/QS community?
I think I’ve always had a latent interest in that kind of stuff for as long as I can remember — my fascination with things like Venom was no coincidence, and shows like Winx Club definitely provided a source of inspiration/outlet for sticky things and peril in general that’s stuck (hah) with me all these years. Beyond that, once I got older and started working on being more open with myself about kinks and fetishes, it was just a matter of gently coaxing myself to draw the odd little ideas that came into my head. FurAffinity has been a major help towards more freely drawing the kind of things I like, and it’s a relief to know there’s a space where I can do so without fear.
How long have you been drawing art/ mud content?
Art has been a part of my life since I could pick up a pencil, but I didn’t start drawing seriously until I was about 13/14. As for WAM stuff, really only about the last 2 years at most (unless you count the handful of weird drawings I did as a kid, RE: my Winx Club days). It was around that time I started exploring the topic more and decided to start satisfying my own curiosity.
What do you want to contribute that you haven't already?
I think I’d like to try exploring more interesting poses and compositions in my WAM art in general without trying to think up a big story behind them haha. I find that my desire for context or reason often holds me back sometimes from doing interesting setups and scenarios that I might not have an exact backstory for, so I think I’d like to open up in that regard to contribute more interesting works.
What's your favourite piece/series you've done?
My favourite piece at the moment is probably my recent Clayface X Jason Todd drawing (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50503655/), I’m really happy with the anatomy and posing for the most part. Though I don’t often do series pieces, I’m also very fond of the set of drawings I did of my OC Kennedy during the summer (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48305834/), (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48320835/), and (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48335128/) because they were my first proper attempts to really focus on weight and consistency with regards to the WAM stuff at play, and I took inspiration from a couple of artists whose work I really love.

Posted 3 years agoHello, happy Sinking Sunday, this week's featured artist is
Blazera !
What got you into the WAM/QS community?
I was into mud before even discovering a community for it, I got interested from some old movies like Neverending Story, and went out and found a few deep mud spots irl. In pretty old days of the internet I first discovered mud puddle visuals, who's been making live action content since the 90's, and a forum called http://deepsinking.org, which might've been the first online community for it. There wasn't a lot of drawn content back then, one notable artist from the forum days was Acidtester, who drew some nice pinup style girls in peril which included quicksand.
How long have you been drawing art/ mud content?
I've been drawing my whole life. But I didnt draw any mud or even erotic content in general until around 2010, and weirdly enough it was during the brony craze that I started. And pretty immediately went to WAM focus once I started.
What do you want to contribute that you haven't already?
I think 3D, and animation, and 3D animation all have a lot more potential waiting to be achieved. Not just for WAM but for erotic art in general. Been working on learning new software for more advanced goop simulations.
Is there another QS community artist you'd like to nominate to be featured?
Oh if you can get in touch with them,
Saara /Taral Wayne has been a long time inspiration. otherwise maybe
WAMCajarito
What's your favourite piece/series you've done?
Thats a pretty tough pick. I think my comfort pick is this one of Sandy, it all feels so soft. (https://twitter.com/BlazeraBrood/st.....29646441943040). As for series this is probably still my best WAM set. (https://twitter.com/BlazeraBrood/st.....03181920051207)

shaggingdg , expert in human blubs and thick submerging scenes!
What got you into the WAM/QS community?
I can clearly remember coming across some of Xanthus' commissioned pieces as a youngun and being stoked that there were other people with the same interest! I didn't really make an effort to become part of any online qs/wam spaces until relatively recently, though. I'd say the root of my overall interest in it had to do with the amount of tar pit imagery in dinosaur/prehistoric media, since that was something I was really into.
How long have you been drawing art/ mud content?
Since I was really small for both, lol. Wam/mud has been a part of my interests for as long as I can remember.
What do you want to contribute that you haven't already?
One day when my skills are honed enough, I'd like to make more realistic/natural wam artwork; I love the idea of naturalistic settings like jungles, deserts, forests, etc. but feel I can't really do them justice right now!
Is there another QS community artist you'd like to nominate to be featured?
HieroGreen for sure, if he's amicable to it :o
What's your favourite piece/series you've done?
"Prolonged demise" is my favourite piece conceptually, I'd love to revisit it sometime when I can! (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/34139152/)
shaggingdg can be found here on FurAffinity, check out their gallery for some lovely bottomless quicksand content!
shaggingdg , expert in human blubs and thick submerging scenes!

Posted 3 years agoGreetings Sinkers and Happy Howlidays!
I'm continuing a series of posts on Sundays that feature art from various WAM/QS community artists to promote their work! Feel free to nominate an artist you'd think would benefit from some muddy promotion in the comments below! Have a question for the featured artist? Comment below!
This weeks artist is none other than
Kritterfox , pioneer of furry quicksand art for many years, how he keeps his fur white is a mystery~
What got you into the WAM/QS community?
Having seen a lot of Kaol's Ol Sinking Hole and Pete Boggs stuff later on on DeviantArt really helped me want to push on drawing it. Having inspiration from my first furry roommate helped!
How long have you been drawing art/ mud content?
I used to draw a TON as a kid. Won 2nd in a state art contest and won a lovely piece of art. Stopped when Highschool came cuz teachers suck. But in 2001 my furry roommate Sarvn pushed me to draw, as did my friend Foxx. :3
What do you want to contribute that you haven't already?
I feel that there's little more I could do, so just to continually keep on drawing to make others happy is great. Best advice I can ever give is just keep at it. Don't let others judge you. Just draw to make yourself happy ^.^
Is there another QS community artist you'd like to nominate to be featured? OG I'd say Pete Boggs (https://www.deviantart.com/pete1672)

Posted 3 years agoGreetings Sinkers!
I'm planning on creating a series of posts on Sundays that feature art from various WAM/QS community artists to promote their work! Feel free to nominate an artist you'd think would benefit from some muddy promotion in the comments below! Have a question for the featured artist? Comment below!
This week's artist is
Silvermane , a WAM community veteran and prolific creator of quicksand-centric comics and scenes.
What got you into the WAM/QS community?
Found it though the furry fandom. Was always interested in it I blame a childhood where movies like Beastmaster, Flash Gordon, Neverending Story had
quicksand as a perilous thing that could and would strike whenever.
How long have you been drawing art/ mud content?
I've been drawing quicksand art since 2004 or 2005.
What do you want to contribute that you haven't already?
Not really sure other than keep drawing what I have been. More fan art stuff possibly. I would like to do more comics but time is always running out.
Is there another QS community artist you'd like to nominate to be featured?
Kritterfox. We kind of both inspired each other and I honestly don't know who did the WAM art first, probably him, so I feel he should have a spotlight.
What's your favourite piece/series you've done?
Unchained Elements ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/22897754 ) remains something I often look back on and want to do again but better so it's definitely up there. I definitely have favorites though I've
done beyond that.
Silvermane can be found on various platforms, and runs a Patreon page for sketch rewards and other goodies!
