Posted 16 years agoYou know what bothers me. Movies, anime, tv shows,etc. anywhere where high schools are depicted. They're always (mostly) shown as these wonderful places where most kids end up forming some of their most treasured memories. It's all so artificial, save for the occasional trauma story. Dunno, guess it seems like either I had a really crappy time in high school or I shut myself off from the world during that time. I'm betting on the latter but who knows. Not really sure why I'm posting this online either,maybe i'm just hoping someone will read it and relate. Anyway, check this out (´･ω･`) ooooooooh reminds me of a doggy.

Posted 16 years agoJust finished listening to the podcast version of Cory Doctorow's Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom. Good stuff, give it a read or a listen it's available online for free under a CC license.

I really like the way he writes his science fiction, it's not so much about aliens but rather it poses interesting lines of inquiry about humanity's future and how society might change for the better or the worst based on what's in the cutting edge of science and culture. So yeah, good stuff. :3
