Furry Fiesta!
Posted 16 years agoI've done a bit of maintenance work on my costumes, managed to tint my whites a slight shade of pink by a red shirt sneaking it's way into the laundry, and got most of my costumes packed for the con. I'm really looking forward to this con, and I should be there around mid-day Friday. If you're going, expect to see Minerva, Bridget, Nora, Autumn, and Rebecca. :)
Further Confusion here I come.
Posted 17 years agoJust got my flight confirmed yesterday, my room with Casidhe all set, and now I just gotta figure out which suit(s) I want to bring with me. I'm thinking Bridget & Minerva this year.... :)
But I must say, I do get sooooo nervous flying with my suits. Lost luggage is my worst nightmare! :(

Midwest FurFest is a no-go.
Posted 17 years agoAlas, I'm going to have to sit this con out. A fiscally irresponsible sibling, coupled with some unexpected bills, make for a vacation that is forfeit
It's a shame... I was REALLY looking at capping off the year with one last con. Ah well.... there's always Furry Fiesta in February.

Anthrocon is Go.
Posted 17 years agoAs some of you know, I'll be attending my first Anthrocon this year. I fly off in less than 10 hours from now, so I'm really excited and nervous about it all. Most of it because I'm traveling with both Bridget and Autumn, and I *ALWAYS* worry about my suits going through the airline luggage. I'm sure everything will be fine in the end, and I am going to have a good time. I'll definitely be getting in as much suit time as possible these next five days. :)
Off to A-Kon
Posted 17 years agoWell I'm packing up the bags and heading out to A-Kon tomorrow morning... should be there around noon or so, traffic permitting. I'll be taking Bridget and wearing her around for the most part, but I'm pondering taking Nora or Rebecca along as well.
I dunno... it's supposed to be pretty hot this weekend (in the 100s), and with a lack of headless lounge or quick access to the rooms via elevator, it's all too easy to over-heat out in fursuit. These kinds of cons call for lighter, more breathable outfits.
But fursuit or no fursuit, a mouse will definitely be wandering about the premises this weekend.

Posted 18 years agoWell I had an absolutely wonderful time at FC this year. As I've mentioned before, I really wasn't planning on attending at all, so it was really quite a spur of the moment thing to head out there like that. Hats off to Casi, Nuku, and his girlfriend, for allowing me to room with them at the last minute.
To everyone who was hoping Autumn would make an appearance, I'm sorry to have disappointed you by not bringing her. I tried, but the baggage restrictions and luggage sizes available to me prevented it from happening. Perhaps next year I'll have a large enough (and sturdy enough) carrier to allow for more than one suit.
As far as the con goes, it was a blast. I sat in on a couple panels, watched a couple shows, and spent the rest of the time just prancing about and socializing with everyone there. I was in bridget at least a good five hours, virtually non-stop, each day. I was really flattered by the attention Bridget was receiving from everyone. I really wasn't quite sure how well a kigurumi style costume would go over, but people really seemed to enjoy her. Of course I was tickled pink to see her show up in Sunday's FC newsletter. Anyone snag a copy of that? I didn't hang onto one, unfortunately. ;(
But I have updated my gallery with some of the pics I managed to take while there. Since I was in suit so much, I really didn't take as many as I could have. But I found my camera is woefully under-equipped for the rapid-fire quick-draw nature that is most con photography. I really really need a good flash that I can aim and bounce.
I also managed to get a good portion of video of Stria's mad creations, Ozgar, Swah, and Weagle, rampaging about and slobbering on everything. Folks really got a kick out of them as they shambled too and fro. Even the non-furs that happened to be staying in the hotel at the time loved their freaky zombie-like cuddliness.
Along with them I got a bit of footage of a few other suits on cam, and also passed off the camcorder to a friend who helped film Bridget a bit. Unfortunately he's got a cane in one hand, so the footage is fairly shaky but usable. Everything will be in HD on my website, or up on my YouTube profile.
Speaking of which, I did manage to get my pictures online. Normally I edit the hell out of everything before posting it, but at the rate I move, it'd be March before I'd be finished. You can view them here.
All in all, I was really sad to see it all end. I'm definitely going to plan on it again next year. :)

Right around the corner....
Posted 18 years agoWell FC is but only a week away and I'm just about ready to go... I've all but decided to take Bridget to the con, over Autumn, due to the con's theme and for three related reasons:
1) Bridget is an eastern style / genre of costuming called "kigurumi" / "animegao".
2) Bridget will be wearing an EGL dress, popular in Japanese street fashion.
3) 2008 is the Year of the Rat.
Seems almost a no-brainer to bring her. Though I will try and get Autumn there, too, but I can only take so much on the flight with me... so little time, such decisions I must make.....
