The Doctor
General | Posted 15 years agoI just saw the first episode of Doctor Who with the 11th Doctor and I must say, this new guy does the Doctor very well. I'll admit there was some apprehension at first and I wasn't sure he would be right, but seeing him in action, I like him. He's got his own quirks and unique qualities and actually pulls off the character, so you can expect me watching more of the series.
This new season's also a bit of a refresher, new sonic screwdriver, new doctor, and entirely new inside for the Tardis, and they tied it all behind a believable reason for it all. It was sad seeing the last actor leave as the Doctor, but the show must go on!
And yes...I want the new sonic screwdriver. http://www.entertainmentearth.com/p.....number=UT03407
http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/c.....ectibles/d7d8/
On another note on the same subject, I don't know what sci-fi series there is out there, but NONE can stand up to the Doctor. Throw any of the bad guys from any of those other series, and you'd see the Doctor triumph! Even his enemies would trump many of the villians from Star Trek and Star Wars. He's a man who's faced utter disaster and overwelming odds head first and won. He doesn't resort to just brute strength or force, but cunning, and wits.

Happy Days
General | Posted 15 years agoI own a motorcycle! A 1990 Kawasaki Vulcan 500. Hehehe, now all I gotta do is get a permit and I can ride her. My dad's gonna help me out with this and I'm very excited. Word's can't really express how happy, excited and nervous I am at the same time.
Here's a picture of what she looks like, except she's blue.

In other news, I've been plotting and thinking for a story idea I plan to actually write into a novel.
the world's a bit of a steampunk world where clockwork and steampunk tech is mixed with magic. in the world, there are a number of people who own time pieces, clocks. they are designed into eyepatches, belt buckles, rings, pendents, or the standard pocket watch or wrist watch. These clocks are special. when activated and opened, they give the user a special weapon, armor, or a guardian to fight for them. the owners of these clocks are known as Timekeepers. There were thirteen original makers of these clocks known as the Watchmakers and each one had a guardian or enforcer known as a Guardian of Time. The thirteenth's gone missing and he was the main enforcer. He kept the others in place and ensured they used time justly. The idea is, he returns after his long absence.
I'm thinking of a dark mad hatter look for the thirteenth with a black top hat. and maybe a long coat with armored shoulders or something. His reason for disappearing is simply that "I angered time, she will not listen to me anymore." I may throw some western influences in, and some slightly modern weaponry like pump action shotguns. I don't think I'm going to go anywhere as recent as machine guns or automatic pistols.

Horror!
General | Posted 16 years agoWell, I've been hanging out with couple good local friends of mine. Akirashima and his roommate! We've been playing Arkham Horror every Tuesday with a bunch of other friends. It's a great game, and I enjoy it! But even more, I enjoy spending time with my friends at Akirashima's place, and with Akirashima himself. I'm in awe of his knowledge at times, but then, he has been a bit more around the block than me!
In other news, I've been working on a bit of a twist. My hero becomes a villian, while the villian becomes a hero, but knowing him he's not really a hero.

Beware the Doctor
General | Posted 16 years agoI've been thinking of some things with my super hero version of Radar (and for those who comment or ask, any pic of him with the goggles over his eyes is the super hero universe version. I will and have commissioned versions of him that are more of a normal world version.) and I've come to a decision. I've spoken and dealt with some other furs like Train (who's here on fa under the same name) and Mojorover (fa username again) and I've noticed that most of the one's I've spoken with tend to put their super furs under a more golden or silver age of comics type of atmosphere. As for Dr. Nefar, he fits more under a darker image. Closer to some of the more modern comics, or a world like Watchmen, some of the more darker Batman comics, The Boys, or even Sin City. He resides in a world with shadey cops, rapists, and murderers, a world filled with visible sex and violence, where even the most upstanding hero isn't all he or she appears to be to the public. His world isn't the one of the Saturday Morning Spider-man cartoon. His main enemies try to kill him and his own past is cluttered with death. It's a very Noir setting.
Why I brought that up is that because of all this, I've been considering moving him away from the brightly colored atmosphere of the likes of Lady Liberty and the like, and moving him more into the shadows and the darkness that his world resides. This is something I'd love to speak with people about, hear inputs and basically talk about with people. And if anyone wishes to rp this, or hell, even start a group revolving around this, that's merely an added bonus. All I want to really do is expand on the mythos around him.
To better visualise him, he's a broken man with nothing really to lose. The movie Law Abiding Citizen seems to reflect on him quite well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX6kVRsdXW4 for the trailor. Heck, even Jigsaw himself is very similar to Dr. Nefar, or Ozymandias from Watchmen.
To put Dr. Nefar simply, he's a mortal man who saw the corruption and evil around him after he lost everything, and in a twisted cycle, thought he got it all back only to lose it again, then gets another chance at a semblance of a normal live, only to lose it all because of his own actions. He's a devil of his own making. He started out as a murderous vigilante, along the lines of Rorschach or the Punisher, who started to get corrupted by the own evils he was destroying. He started to decend into his own madness and see that the possible cure for all this was to remake the world, to literally take over. At the last minute, he backed out, and tried for a final attempt at a normal life. When this failed, he falls further than he ever has before.
I'm walking a thin line with him here. Make his mind crack and splinter into two personalities after he loses his friends that he had just made because of his paranoia and secret files and then realise that most of his former colleages and even his beloved mentor, a father figure for this man without anyone not even a family, turn towards the dark side and had become villians. Or, send him down the dark road himself after all of this happens, and have him succumb to his desires to save the world and his paranoia. The biggest plan ever enacted by the only one who could pull it off. The complete kidnapping of super power furs from around the world. He would attempt to remove the powers of those he felt did nothing wrong to him, to help them live a normal life, and some who stoke the fire that is his anger would be killed without thought. That is the price to pay should Dr. Nefar become a villian.

Update
General | Posted 17 years agoWell, I've been thinking of doing a LOT of things with Radar, aka Dr. Nefar. And I really need to get off my butt and stop slacking with a number of things here, and start using my fa page as for more than just looking up artwork. I need to post a lot of the things I got at AC and send copies to the artists. What stinks is I can't remember the names of some of the artists.
There will be a few with icontrain:'s lovely Lady Liberty *loooooooves her*. And a few with some other chars that belong to my good friend.
First off, I need to get to writing, but it's kinda hard to when you get lazy when you get home from work and end up rping all night till you go to bed, or surfing the net. And you can't really write at work because you gotta read a stupid script over and over again to people who don't want to give money to a moron and his retarded political organization.
But the main thing is, my mind's still churning with ideas. I've decided to spoil a secret, but I've thought of a huge couple what ifs. What if Radar, who's pretty much promised Gloria Summers (Lady Liberty) he'd never take a life again, ended up taking a life, even if it was an accident. How greatly would he break down? Would he just crash, bury himself into his work, or maybe run away from everything?
A few of the ideas that popped into my head as conclusions to the event would be:
1. he buries himself into his work, taking apart his inventions to go over them and find out what went wrong. A possible event that could happen is he's so distraught, he screws up and a flash or explosion temporarily renders him blind.
2. he has to reevaluate himself and his life. It's a thought that's been weighing on him in the back of his mind for a long while, but he now has to deal with the thought. Should he stay with Gloria? With all the enemies he has and how murderous they are, his primary concern is her safety, and he feels that he's a magnet that brings danger into her life. If there's one thing he'd hate to happen, is for Gloria to be critically injured or killed. It's his desire to protect her that makes him start to greatly question how dangerous being in her life can be.
3. This idea stems off from the last one. This one runs similar, but with significant differences. He stays with Gloria, but he decides to go away for a while. He basically leaves to take care of the problems that have plagued him, to eradicate the worst of them once and for all. He makes sure to leave Gloria a letter informing him that he has to leave for a while, to make everything right. He would appologize to her in the letter, and say that he truly wishes there was another way, but he has to become a true villian for once, and he doesn't want her to be punished for his actions. This would lead to possibly the darkest path for him, the time when some of the full potential of the side of him known as Dr. Nefar comes out. This would be the first time he becomes a real threat and attacks a military base, but with just cause.
What do you guys think?

General | Posted 18 years agoWell, I've been stumbling along with many numerous story ideas, and finally decided to ask for some advice and suggestions!
One: I have ADD, so my problem is my attention gets diverted and I am a little absentminded. I'll actually open up Internet explorer with the intent to look something up, and suddenly not remember what I was gonna look up, so I must backtrack to remember. This is why most of my writing is done first on paper. Now the problem is, I usually get distracted when I go to write it on the computer, sometimes by the internet or by instant messengers. Any advice?
Second: I have many story ideas in my head, and I could compile them all into a list maybe three pages long. My problem is, getting all this out on paper. Once again, any ideas?
Third: Characters, I have no problem coming up with them, in fact, I have an overabundence of them, and I'd like to put this ability to use to help some other furs, who seem like they could use a little help with this. How can I do that, help them make a character that's interesting and their own?
Fourth: This is the biggie! Umm..gimme a sec..lemme remember it. Ah, yes, now I remember. See, I told you about being absentminded, and this was why I'm doing this in the first place. Now, I have this story world in my head, and I want to pull elements of a variety of different cultures and aspects into this, even some sci-fi elements to form a very unique brand of monster hunters that take on very violent and dangerous mythical creatures. Sorta a unique version of Hellboy, but with furs.
The main character is a bat, a gunslinger named Ravnos Noctre, who with his cybernetic eyes and arms is the best damn shot alive, yet not much of a socializer due to not remembering his past. He just remembers bits and pieces and finds out he was a jester for the mideival area's king, a fox known as the Red Emperor. He was sent to kill the Red Emperor but turn his employers down, finding the fox to be a kind and caring man, thus his bosses used him as a test subject and he shot his way to freedom after awakening with an empty slate for a memory and his implants.
Next is the town's doctor, Dr. Charles Bailey Worth, a male reindeer who just can't seem to grow horns bigger than stubs. He's a very femme gay guy, and is sometimes mistaken for female, but he has a problem of his own. Due to a bad experience in the mountains, he's become possessed by a wendigo, which takes over his body whenever his life is threatened. He blacks out during these events only to wake up to carnage.
Third is a dragoness disgused as a lioness named Gwen Pennington. She was rudely awaken by miners digging through her mountain, and thanks to them, came to learn about dynamite. Unfortunately for everyone, she came to love the stuff, and thus became a bit of a miner herself.
Fourth is the ninja tanuki by the name of Ziyi Yen, who does not tell her story, she is more of a mystery than the others.
Fifth is Clara Vansing, a tough bovine monster hunter who travels solo. Her assistant is a very old vampire (another bat) by the name of Victor Von Killmyer, who has a shady past he's desperately trying to make up for, so he gives Clara whatever information she needs.
Sixth is the pirate captain Jack Crimson, who cloaks himself in blood red clothing and wears a mask of a skull and a black veil over the rest of his face during combat. His right hand is lost and has been replaced by a large hook shaped sword blade.
Seventh are the governmental type agents, Andrea Page and Bruce Marshall. Andrea, a hyena, hates zombies and arms herself accordingly since her whole town was wiped out by them and she was the only survivor. Bruce, a work in progress, has a cybernetic right forearm and wields a grenade launcher. He lost his forearm and hand when lycanthropes attacked his home and he fought them of, one of them biting onto his hand as he held a lit stick of home made dynamite.
Eighth is the insane Nigel Cronos, a hyena clad in a straight jacket and with bandages over his head. He was a failed experiment to try and make organic cybnetics, ones that can shift and mutate like Venom or Carnage's symbiotes. He bonded with his straight jacket and he's become nicknamed Straps because of how he attacks with the straps of his jacket that seem to even grow out of his body.
Ninth is an androgenous male ferret named Ace Royal. he's a card shark and a bounty hunter, and he's been paid to kill Ravnos. His weapons are metal playing cards and a pair of derringers hidden up his sleeves. He seems to be an equal match for the bat, even able to use his cards to defend against Ravnos's shots.
Now I've got thoughts for a naga like cobra, and maybe a sword expert (a female zebra perhaps?), and also strong male iguana named Gene who is rescued from being falsely imprisoned for about ten years, and he may or may not still have his shackles attached to his wrists or carry around a steel ball and chain as his weapon. If you can't tell, I like the comics, cartoons, movies or stories where there are characters with their own rather unique weapons that face the main characters.

Kaiju!
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, soon I'm going to start uploading some stuff here, still working on the story of my Kaiju actress Miranda Lee, the lovely Queen Gekra, and the goings on at her movie studio. And I will be uploading a picture of one of her foes, the one eyed monster, Cyoptrics! I'm pretty pleased with out it's come out and I only have a few little details left, like the little red veins around the eye.
I've got ideas for her other foes, though I gotta send out the ideas to get pictures done for one or two of them.

General | Posted 19 years agoThe first five people to respond to this post, will get some form of art, by me, about them. I make no guarantees about quality or type, but I will assure that I will give it good effort and that the art will be individual to you, yours is the only one like it (most likely you'll get a poem or short story).
The only catch, of course; as with most memes, if you sign up, I'd like you to put this in your own journal as well.
(the last journal post is still in effect as well)

The first 10 people who comment on this journal will get a free poem or cameo in my monster hunter stories, something other than a drawing as my art suxxors, done by me. But in order to participate and get the sketch, you must copy and paste this text on your journal, and give 10 free pics to whoever asks as well. If you don't feel like doing this, don't even answer this journal. And yes, I will look in your journal before accepting your request, so no cheating.
If you decide to participate, leave your request in your comment in this journal. If possible, leave a link to the character or whatever you wish me to draw. SO I dont have to go hunting your character markings down and such, makes for a faster reveling! (Please keep in mind people/cars are not my specialty, I am willing to give it a try, just expect a not to nice looking out-come)
For additional details on the monster hunter world to know if your char will fit in, just send me a note or im me on yahoo or aim, and please, tell me why you are iming me, it creeps me out when people I've never met before just message me and go Hi, because then I don't know what to do, I don't know what they want or anything.

Monsters Needed
General | Posted 19 years agoBlaaargh! *tries to fight off his muses* Great, now I have conflicting story series I wanna work on.
If you've read A Meeting of Bats, then you have already met one of the characters of the new series, Ravnos Noctre, the gunslinger.
His three companions are Mia Cho, the tanuki ninja; Dr. Charles Worth, the antlerless wendigo possessed reindeer; and Gweneth Pennington, the explosive loving dragoness that disguises herself as a lioness.
Boy, was that a mouthful.
Well, the series revolves around those four and pulls some of my chars who did not have a series into it, as cameos and giving them a world to live in, and the four take on numerous mythological beasts terrorizing the innocents.
So, I need some mythological monsters. I'll start listing the ones I've already got that are pretty good.
Plus..any ideas for a title?

Characters
General | Posted 19 years agoI've been thinking of starting a sort of journal here and posting info on many of my super heroes and villians. The list for them can be seen here: http://radarnocturn.livejournal.com/27343.html
First up is the angel dove named Celestrial. Born Anna White, she became a nurse when an angel named Devinity met her, returning her memories to her. She was an angel who gave up her immortality to become a mortal, to learn about them and be the liason between mortals and angels. The angels do not meddle in the affairs of mortals, only she can because as a mortal, she understands them.
She can turn into the angel at any time, and as the angel she is immortal. She can be killed, but will ressurrect from death. She also carries a sword for slaying demons, but will never kill a mortal, no matter what.
For details on another char, lemme know which one you want to learn about. I figured this will be a good way to get details typed up and solidified.
