It's quiet, too quiet
Posted 5 days agoFeels like there's been a drought of journals as of late. My last journal was over 6 months ago, so time for a much needed update. And a good laugh.
Been watching the drama unfold from the last week and it's been rather entertaining to say the least. Mind you, this is NOT the issue where someone took artwork and ran it though ToonAI. I won't give names, but if you know you know. All I will say is that one of those "anti-AI" artists was caught tracing AI images. Making it even worse for them, one of the pieces was an AI adoptable. I feel bad for those that got scammed in this way, this is far worse than just a simple recoloring of the same image. Nothing wrong with recolorings of the same species, just easier to recolor the necessary layers than to create a whole new pose and whatnot for adoptable - which is where I tend to see them.
I keep start and stop on my final part of that one story that's going on 4 years now. WOW, I thought it was like 2 years. Guess I been enjoying some liberties of toying with the AI, for my own enjoyment. However, that means even if I pay for artwork to be done of Zyuman, I doubt I'd be able to post it here. That's how I was reading 2.13 anyways. Since, even with the written description of my OC, it might still be viewed as being a derivative from AI. So not going to risk that, for the artist or myself. So that means I'll be probably more active over on DA and X, but I'll still post my stories here.
Anyways, almost a month till Hatchday rolls around again.

Nice I changed my name
Posted 6 months agoAllowing this change was much better than just creating a new account. Granted it is just a visual thing, but it is still nice to have the name of my new OC instead of the older one. I had changed it over on X, so it was natural that other places will also get the new name. Least I did remember to change that link here for that social. Still writing, and working on two stories - the long overdue final one and a new one. Won't go into too much detail, but it will be an interaction between two people over "current issues".
GAH I missed Pi Day
Posted 7 months agooh well. . . it happens. I been too distracted with gaming and whatnot to not notice the calendar . . . here's a neat song for the heck of it.

Happy 44th Hatch Day
Posted 11 months agoAnother year has flown past, or maybe cause I was running around as a microraptor to be a major pain to humans. *evil chuckles* Either way. HAPPY HATCHDAY TO ME! *does the Happy DinoDance* I love that Twitch emote.

10 days to go
Posted 11 months agoI said I didn't want to do a countdown, but to hell with that idea. Not exactly sure what I have planned for my own hatchday, but I do have some ideas. I will likely link to a video that I found, no matter how others feel about it. Still slowly working on the final story I might be posting here, along with the world building stuff. I been focusing more over on DA than here honestly.
On a side note, I now have three different color by number apps. Color Oasis, Color Up, and now Happy Color. Happy Color has so many dinosaurs to color, I been keeping content with that. Plus that app is connected to Cash Giraffe so been making some points that I can send over to PayPal.

Three Weeks from Hatchday
Posted 11 months agoJust had to put down a new journal. It was needed. Least it's not a daily countdown. That's all I got right now.
Laughing at the mass exodus
Posted a year agoI keep seeing journal after journal after journal all saying the same thing. It's quite funny. They made the block feature act just like the one that FaceBook currently has and people start running for the hills. Yes, it's the same block feature. If you set the profile to public anyone that is logged into X can see everything you do. If it's set to private, you have to accept the follow request to let others see your content. I have seen them crying "It's going to make them into stalkers". . . newsflash, they already were stalkers before you blocked them, it changes nothing if your profile is public. It just prevents them for replying or interacting with your content. There's some content I cannot reply to, cause it shows up as "only people that can reply are those that the person follows or they @ me" that's it. I don't go into full blown hysterics over it.
Then there's the ones that are leaving due to Grok, X's AI. Mind you, it's the ONLY AI that can possibly scrap your data, cause you have to have an account, even to see the public profiles. Don't believe me, log out of your X account and try looking at any page, there's a nice big X over everything, wanting you. . . craving you to log in. So the outside AIs cannot get in. With that blue butterfly page. . . yeah. Meta AI, Apple AI, Nvidia AI, Anthropic, and a lot more they can ALL see your content on bluesky without a problem. The only other way to keep the "evil" AI away is to put your stuff behind a paywall. As standard with any place, you hold the copywrite, but you give them rights to do basically whatever they need to do with it. Yes, even if it means training an AI.

Color by number is fun
Posted a year agoNot a big fan of using my phone for games. . . outside of Pokemon GO, but I have Mistplay and I play a few games to make the points needed to get PayPal gift cards.
Been playing two in particular "Color Oasis" and "Color Up". I like Oasis a lot more than Up. Color oasis tends to use different shades of color to help create shadow and lighting effects, while Color Up just is big uncreative splashes of color. I had to check to see after a few of the dinosaur images on color up was just a fluke with the splashes of shades in one go, so I picked a pattern and a mandala. Nope, color up tends to be more of a reveal the spot instead of actually filling the spot with a color. I'll be removing Color Up once Mistplay stops tempting me with the "play for X minutes" quests - I'll save some of the images I liked. I still miss how Mistplay use to be with their daily stuff, now it's same dull 2 coins and you just have to play a new game to get any progress done.
I'm hoping Color Oasis gets more of Rainbow Brite and Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy. Those were some of my favorites to do, some of the more challenging too. They love to hide the super tiny spot of color that might go unnoticed.

Early preparations for HatchDay
Posted a year agoIt's not till near the end of November, but I rather get the word out kinda early this time around. Been keeping myself rather busy as I slowly rework that final story. Plus the extra work of making backups of the stuff here and moving some of the better stuff over to DA. Used the same name as I do here, had both created about the same timeframe and don't really want to do the name change. 16 years on both sites is a long time.
Still playing loads of games as well, recently gotten back into Palia. . . and instantly remember why I stopped in the first place. FISHING. The minigame is alright, just keep the bobber in the green brackets and you caught it, it's not the pain in the ass type that Stardew Valley has. It's just getting the correct fish on the line that's the problem. Cannot even request them as I haven't caught them before, so no way to do that. The farming and cooking are fun to do. Don't have to worry about crops drying out cause I didn't water them, they just don't grow - especially if there's a weed. Just have to make two of most of the cooking stations and it covers everything. It's wild to think that you have to have two different mixing stations, two cutting tables, and two stoves. . . wait I just had to add a second oven for one of the meals as well.
Oh well, back to more No Man's Sky for me, I love the fishing they added there. Gonna redo the expedition again, it's just too much fun.

*runs around in circles*
Posted a year agoJust needed to throw a new journal up cause I was bored with the last one. Only updates about that was the pool guys had left the pumps on, which I cannot fault them for, instead of it running on the timer. I didn't know about it either. Maybe my father should have called them sooner and been here to avoid having the pumps running for almost a full month around the clock. The autofiller was also not working as intended so it took an extra day cause I was just shown how to turn it on and off and nothing else. In fact, even now the pool wasn't at the level it use to be at. Imagine a very slow trickle, that's how the autofiller was.
As for the carpet beetles, I think I managed to stop the infestation. I do see one or two from time to time, but it's nowhere near how they were.
Got me a Cirkul water bottle, so my soda intake been reduced. Best part is that the sips that the bottle uses for flavoring do qualify for EBT food, so I'm content with picking up 3-4 flavors to try out. the starter kit, which had the 32 ounce bottle and two flavors, was the best 20 bucks I spent. Florida Man was interesting as an orange citrus. It was alright, but the flavors seem better when the water is cold. Bottle keeps that water cold for almost 2 days. Then again, I have been filling half of it with just ice before adding the lukewarm water to it from one of those zero-filter pitchers.

When it rains, it pours
Posted a year agoParents have once again headed out on another short vacation. They had to break up their normal 2 month vacation into two 3 week vacations due to doctor appointments. However, it hasn't stopped them from being a massive PAIN in my side. Last month they had shingles on the roof replaced, I was the only one home and the only one that was put at a mild inconvenience of the 6am wake up calls for 3 days. They had finished the same day my parents returned. This time, I have to deal with the pool cleaners. They dragged their feet after they got home to deal with yellow mold that managed to get a hold in the pool. Waits till the week before leaving to even bother calling them, by then the pool is just an algae infested pool. It was just beyond gross. As I'm typing this, they had just finished draining and scrubbing everything down. Now it's slowly refilling.
I took some time from that headache to deal with another annoyance. For the last few months there had been an uptick in the encounters with what I thought were just gnats. Turns out they were carpet beetles. No major signs of an infestation, but I had always seen them around in small numbers over the years, just squashed them and went about my day. Seems some of my really old clothes had been turned into their little breeding ground. However, none of the clothes I looked over had holes, so I might had been lucky catching them when I did. Least they are harmless, but still going to rewash everything and vacuum as much as I can. Not much else I can really do about them, but just take my time and vacuum every so often. Threw out the old clothes I didn't want or need, washing everything else. Dryer set to high heat instead of medium so that if they were there, they won't be there for long.

It's one of those days.
Posted a year agoI'm not planning on leaving, so it's not that bad. I been thinking of my ancient DA account that just been sitting there forever. My only plans for now is slowly migrate some of my written works over there. Just the written stuff, artwork will stay here. Just expanding my horizons. Plus. . . . they have "the evil" and I'm tempted to play with it.
Talking about written works, I've been actively redoing my last chapter for Zyuman's world. On another side, there will be a ton of extra world building after that. I was happy to see how I was able to explain his space in the universe. It was fun being a super sized compy being super mischievous. It would be nice to go into further detail of the dinosaur ruled planet. I do have a few more story ideas in mind, but I need to get the Dinosaucer fanfic chapter finished first.

Happy 43rd Hatch Day
Posted 2 years agoOne of the rare times for this old dino, sharing the day with the turkey. HAHAHA All the more reason to stuff my face till I cannot move.
Normally the deinonychus is the fit or buff one with the bull being the overweight one, but nothing wrong with spoiling myself on this day. I have two reasons this year.
Kinda feeling a little on the "meh" side. Parents decided instead of the normal routine of gifting me 50 dollars, a new hair trimmer would suffice. The old one had broken months ago and they bought a beard, nose, and ear hair trimmer thinking it was no different. Make it worse it was one of those charge overnight to have an hour of battery life. Only now they figured out the mistake and got the right one. I guess I can go back to cutting my hair, but really wish they gave me the funds to go get it done by a barber. I only get one about every three to four months, it wouldn't be that much of an issue.

Two weeks till Hatchday
Posted 2 years agoIt's nice to see it's this time of year again. Been just enjoying a slower pace in my life, just chilling mostly. Been watching some streams of games I might want to get. All the while I have an idle game just running nonstop on my PC. Not much happening otherwise.
Still enjoying being a hefty 415 pounds. Doesn't move too far in either direction, but enjoying the big belly.

Starfield copium OD
Posted 2 years agoI'm skipping this game for the time being. Character creator looks great, the skill tree is rather nice. I have heard the lockpicking minigame is good, but I haven't seen it on any of the streams I watched (or I had completely missed it when I took a bathroom break). The thing that is driving me away from this game. . . the loading screens. So many loading screens. I don't care that I can make my own base or my own space ship. I do care that every time I use a door, a ladder, a hatch, entering or exiting the ship; it's all met with a cursed loading screen. Hell Star Citizen doesn't pull that crap. I can freely walk around my ships there without one loading screen. Respawning seems to be the only loading screen I have really encountered.
NMS, ED, and SC did one thing that Starfield really lacks. . . fully rendered planets. I can freely fly around in space and around the planet/moon without issue in those three games. Hell I can LAND where ever I want, SF . . . nope, you get a map with confined space - boarders which leads to more loading screens if you want to explore further. Then you have the return of the waxy face NPCs from Mass Effect 3 and Mass Effect Andromeda, no emotion in their body language - anger, happiness, excitement all look no different. Heck you can strip your own crew and they are completely numb to it, saying nothing or showing no reaction. *inserts 'my face is tired' meme*
Now don't get me wrong, SF has some great graphics, when it comes to the cities you land in. . . that's about it though. When you have wax targeting dummies wondering all over the place it really distracts from the whole beauty. You can go on a wild rampage, harming the NPCs till you either choose to or forced to reload a previous quick save. I say "harming" cause there are some that are immune to being purged from existence. Stealing a ship in SF looks great, then you have to register it before you can sell it. . . not much profit there. You also need to have the required skills to pilot the ship, so you could run into a ship that's outside your piloting skill. NMS and SC don't have such limitations. Buy it or find a crashed one in NMS and you can instantly turn it into salvaged parts. SC added salvaging ships, even it's components can be taken off the ships now. Cargo in SC is physicalized so you can pick it up and take it.
So it looks good, but I'm not going to spend 70 bucks on a game when I have three others that filled the role a little better than SF. None of which costed me over 50 bucks. I spent 50 on SC for the game package with the 100i, it was on sale. NMS back in 2017 for 30 bucks, it was on sale as well. Then I got ED for free on Epic.

The hijinks of Star Citizen
Posted 2 years agoYes, I play this game from time to time. I enjoy it, bugs. . . um, I mean "features", and all. They are currently doing a free fly, but that's not the important part. It's mainly to point and laugh at those that are playing the "CIG is evil" card once again. In the game, there's a multitude of ship building companies all trying to get your hard earned space bucks, or real bucks if you don't have the patience of waiting. Case in point, the Mirai Fury. An advert was made to sell this ship, which looks more like a sub than a space ship, and people went right on to crying about the unrealistic 180 flip it does in the advert. Trying to say it's false advertisement, which is very laughable. Let's be honest, no advert is 100% true to fact, they are trying to sell you a product. 50 bucks for this ship as a standalone (meaning it doesn't come with the game). Some are up in arms of how they were "tricked" into spending real money on this. . . as if it was somehow to be a real thing. Did they forget that they paid money to play in a game, which is made of pixels? So why the hell should they be crying over spending more money to get something that is nothing more than just a bunch of pixels. It's almost as if they think this ship should be a real thing, sitting in their damn driveway or parked on a curb.
Yes, I do understand that this is all CIG behind the curtain, but they are trying to make the world as immersive as possible. So everything in that game has a in-game company that produces that item. From the food and drink, to all the clothes that are there. It's not their fault that some people fail to tell the difference between reality and fantasy.
In other news, I have made the decision to not work on finishing my story. With all the recent changes, I felt it was best to not proceed with it. Even if I did try to "age up" or explain that the Scouts were not teenagers anymore, it would not be enough to prevent someone from just going ahead and reporting it. Granted they were never in anything adult in nature, but again not going to risk it.

Two weeks till Hatchday
Posted 3 years agoTime is slowly flying by. Been playing games and losing all tracks of time. Been bouncing between Star Citizen and Rim World. Eager for the next pokemon game, going to see about getting Scarlet and that fire type as my starter. Too much like the dragon from Bubble Bobble.
In about a week Star Citizen will be doing a massive free fly event that will last till the end of the month. Perfect time to try before you buy. It also has some of the best sales, if you are interested in getting this game. Just remember, it is considered to be in alpha. Might encounter lots of bugs, crashes, and other issues. It's been pretty stable for the time being, but big events do tend to have more issues with stability than others. I also have my referral code if you do create an account - that is free and it does give you a little extra starting money in game. Sometimes if you do buy a game package, it comes with a little more for your buck too. When I did buy my package, I got a free Dragonfly land vehicle (which is like a 40 dollar value) as well as the person I had used their code when I created my account years ago. As far as I know, if you forgot to include a referral code, you cannot add it later. It might change later, but better safe than sorry.

In about a week Star Citizen will be doing a massive free fly event that will last till the end of the month. Perfect time to try before you buy. That time of the year again
Posted 3 years agoHatch day is already just under 3 weeks away. Just been enjoying the fun of having a little extra feathering along the torso for the cold weather. Itchy at first, but got use to that. Now to sit back and pig out for the longer sleeping periods. I know I should be more of a muscular deinonychus, but sometimes the fat just wants to be the forefront again.
Last to always know
Posted 3 years agoMy parents are a fucking piece of work. They leave for 6 to 8 weeks every summer. Best time of my life, not having to listen to blaring loud Soap Operas or FOX NEWS. Not even 24 hours and the house is a complete disaster site. I told them that I needed a new phone since my current one is dead - has to be on the charger or there's no service. Even a cheap Tracfone was out of range, I could pay the 20 bucks (plus voter approved tax for emergency services) for my 90 day card, but pointless if I cannot carry the phone anywhere.
Cue today, no warning, no heads up, just a knock down on the door "let's go". I was in the middle of something that needed a moment to save and exit, plus a change of clothes. Nope didn't even wanted to wait 5 minutes for that. They do not tell me anything, everything is just spur of the moment. Hell I'm even treated like a fucking circus seal, I have food actually thrown at me (which they expect me to catch) while once again I'm busy doing something. They cannot even bother to place it on the mini fridge that's RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOOR. to add further insult to injury, I'm also one of the garbage disposal pigs from the Flintstones, they make something they didn't like and expect me to just suck it all down so it "doesn't go to waste".
I'm always the last to know, but the first one impacted by it

It's hard to imagine being this awesome looking. I am one attractive looking deinonychus.
I will admit, it hasn't been easy. However, as time went by, I became more use to being like this. The old bull that Rage is isn't gone. He's the AI to the ship I keep calling The Den, even though I don't think I had officially changed The Maze's name.
The world I found myself on used reincarnation to keep life rolling on. The key difference is that one should lose their memories of the past life, only to see glimpse of them as dreams. Before the arrival of the humans and Dino Hunters, there was no way to really talk about them, but now it been creating issues between other dinos. Curse of Speech has cause certain dinos to now doom themselves to extinction, convince carnivores to stop eating meat and the plant eaters also suffered as now illness swept though like wildfire. Other dinos were wipe out by Dino Hunters.
Now onto my Hatch Day. Feels a little different than just calling a Birthday, then again that's how a dino's life is - hatched instead of a live birth. The feathers are really nice too, however molting is . . .well itchy. Old feathers being replaced with new feathers, takes a couple months from start to finish. I hoard one or two of the better conditioned ones, not sure why outside that I tend to use them when nest building.
Yes, the male deinonychus build nests and decorate them to attract a mate. Feathers, skulls for kills, other assorted trophies. Males have the bright flashy colors, mine are reds tips on the bulk of my longer feathers, with banding of white and black. I do not fly, even though I do have feathers in the right areas for such, but I can add some extra height and length to most jumps. I'm getting a little ahead of myself, my feathers also act as display of my emotions. The feathers on the top of my head and around my upper body can make me look much bigger. I like flaring the ones on the crest, much like a greater Roadrunner, most of the time when I'm being agitated. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7nzSs3OBbg to give you idea on how the feathers displays work)
In my evolved state, I have a medium-heavy muscular build, perfect for scaling vertical surfaces. Even my attire is that of rock climber. Even in this form, I can still use my feathered body to slow my falls enough where a parachute is pointless. The Dino-Volver I had been fused with allows me to be any dino I had been in my past using a Dino Soul - a hexagon shaped chip. The Dino-Volver itself is unique that it combines the henshin technology of both Kamen Riders and Super Sentai. Two standouts for this is Kamen Rider Ghost's Necrom, with the device on the left wrist instead of on a belt (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AepPet1A90U), and Mashin Sentai Kiramager with the changer having to spin to activate. So basically I set the Dino Soul into the matching indentation in the Dino-Volver, then give the device a spin. Something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4wYkQamvz. I get three different finishers with this mode too, like Kamen Rider it depending on the number of spins I give it. Depending on what dino I turned into, the one spin 'attack' and three spin 'finisher' will be different, but the two spin 'break' is always a Rider-style kick. Won't get into all of them here.
I do have one secret, which I do not mind exposing here. Eggs temperature affects the gender of the dino that hatches. For most of my lives, I had always been male; however, I was female only once. That is cause of the temperature overlap that the gigantoraptor had. So I was female of that massive oviraptor, but mind you the name is misleading. Not egg thieves, but had some of the largest of clutches and did brood them like modern birds. It's an interesting feeling to pass eggs, but it was all for the sake of propagation of a species.
Oh well, time to kick back and keep right on enjoying this Hatch Day and looking forward to the next one.

One month till Hatchday
Posted 4 years agoI don't usually do the whole "countdown" thing for birthdays, but wanted a new journal sooner rather than later. I might do another one in a week or two as more of a short story introducing myself in my new deinonychus form(s). Rage is still around though it's the ship's AI now. It sorta works for now.
Yeah that's why I called it a hatchday. Still slowly getting use to being a fluffy feathery dinosaur, but it's all worth it. Almost have my next story installment done too. Would had already been done, but I decided to add to it so that the break between is more focused as I have two other characters being introduced and fleshed out in writing. This world isn't as all as it seems at first glance.

Working on the details of my new form
Posted 4 years agoFor a while I been debating with myself on what kinds of powers and abilities I should have. I won't be restricted to just being a feral form dino, I can shift into a more anthro form. It will have a wide stance as to not have to worry about pinching the tail, so my new form will be more of a back or belly sleeper to keep more inline with his feral form. Will be staying as a deinonychus for the most part.
Been watching too much Super Sentai and Kamen Riders so I'll be taking a little from them as how my new powers would work, can shift between different dinosaurs I had been in the other story and a couple others. Looking at the mapusaurus for being one of them. Will be using a coin that's a little hexagon with the head shape of the dinosaur, it would announce what it is when placed into the device to transform me. I'm thinking of having a series of these coins, each with different abilities and powers, just like how Kamen Rider does with some of their series. Just have to figure out how many of these I really want. I think I'll do like a short story to showcase the powers.
There was a reason for the change too, human interference which does result in some dinosaurs going extinct. Not cause of them killing them out, but the forced evolution that was imposed onto them.

Posted 4 years agohttps://survivetheark.com/index.php.....eature-voting/ Last time I didn't tell you to vote for certain dinos over others, but this time the gloves are off. Go and vote for the Carcharodontosaurus it needs all the help it can get.
Dinopithecus creator is using a nonprofit group to bolster votes for his Planet of the Apes reject. Ark has been and always will be a dino survival game, it does not need a gun using baboon.
I have to laugh at how they chastised a youtuber for him using his community of 4 million strong to vote for the Sinomacrops (no, it didn't get nowhere near that. It was something like 6k total votes), but look the other way when a smaller youtuber does the same while dragging a nonprofit along. He even went as far as telling people to not vote for the Carcharodontosaurus on Ark's own twitter for this very contest.

Posted 4 years agoThere's currently a little contest going on with adding one dino to the newly announced Lost Island map. There's a few good ones that caught my attention.
Sinomachops bondei, it's a flying squirrel. A recently discovered arboreal pterosaur. would reduce the weight of the items the survivor is carrying as opposed to other shoulder pets that only reduce the weight that they have.
Ceratosaurus Tyrannus Mortem a horned theropod that gathered stones. Uses gathered materials as projectiles, different materials produce different effects and damage.
Torvosaurus very loud dino that can knock out flyers with some powerful concussion roars.
Gigantoraptor longii another large dino, a cousin to the tiny oviraptor but is very territorial. Kinda feel like a "tickle chicken" in an oviraptor costume.
I'm just getting the word out on this, so go over to https://survivetheark.com/index.php.....e-submissions/ and vote for your favorites. It's a top ten kind a thing.
