Updates and stuff
Posted a year agoA lot has happened in the past 10 years, one of those being that I've gotten extremely bad at making journals. :X
Anyway, I'm thankful for the love this account is getting. My relationship with my fetish work has always been a complex one, but I'm thankful one of my more niche fetishes (femme musclegut) is resonating with you all.
At some point, I do want to try putting some more anthro/animal stuff back on here since, y'know, this is an actual furry site. Not sure when I'll take that chance, but thankfully I think a lot of you are familiar with my DA (SpottedAlienMonster) and get that stuff as it comes there as well.
Someday I want to be able to plug a comic, short film, or some kind of project I've finished in these. Unsurprisingly, I've got no progress to really show. Feels like it's the same song and dance. I'm not too down about it in my current state, I'm trying to take baby steps to fix whatever it is that's always lead me towards procrastination and distraction.
In more personal matters, I quit my retail job some months ago and started working as a package handler. The job is pretty physically intense, but I can't help but feel the change was so much more for the better. I needed a schedule that got me physical exercise, and retail always exhausted me.
I'm only viewing it as a temporary change. It's part time, and not really what I want to be doing with my life, but it's a refreshing change to say the least. Though, now I really do have to figure out what will be next for me.
I'm once again considering freelance. Though I don't feel strong enough as an illustrator, and my animation skills are lacking. I've gotten a real mix of indecision with it. On one hand, I'm cautious of my skills and my own depression/burnout holding me back when it comes to making progress on tasks. On the other, it does feel like I should put more stock into being self-employed sometimes. I don't know, just not fully sure yet where I'm going. The ideal would be making income off of my own original work, or projects, but I'm still formulating how that's even possible.
Anyway, thanks for reading! Hopefully I'll have another update soon.

Because I really need to update the journal
Posted 4 years agoBasically, since the journal I made last year, I tried to keep up with commissions and art... during a pandemic, while I was already working a retail job (a.k.a. being an "essential worker").
Not my brightest line of thinking.
This lead to my burnout that I had been dealing with up until then returning and getting worse. As such, I dropped the ball on commissions. Not that it's really an excuse for not finishing commissions on time, but that is why I haven't uploaded in so long.
As such, for the foreseeable future, I'm not going to be opening commissions. I have a job, and I was irresponsible with the commissions I did take on. Besides that, I want to work on personal art. I want reconnect with my art and get back into a consistent drawing mentality again. In particular, I've been wanting to do my own comics again.
(I keep saying I want to do comics, and nothing ever materializes, but I really really do, it's just *gestures at burnout and pandemic*)
Regardless, tho, I feel I tend to do well with personal work, so I want to get back into the habit of making stuff and then uploading again.
Anyway, I hope everyone is staying safe and staying well. Wear your mask, call your loved ones, get vaccinated. I'll try not to let a year go by before I do something again.

Commissions, Art, and General Life Update
Posted 5 years agoI haven't given an update in a long time, so why not do it during a pandemic, I figure.
If I haven't accepted a commission from you, I'm afraid I'm going to close down commissions for a bit. Would like to open them sometime mid-April, but because of this pandemic, working retail is taking a much harsher toll on my mental well-being than usual.
If I have already accepted a commission from you, I plan to continue working on it. Would love to get them all done at or before mid-April, but I have no idea what's going to happen within the next month in regards to health or other factors.
In other news, I'm hoping everyone is staying safe and healthy. I'm sure you've seen the announcements and been drowned in info, but again, I'd just like to reiterate to maintain safe distance and to wash your hands.
As for art in the title, I guess I set myself up for that. I wasn't actually planning to talk about that, but I may as well.
I've been getting pretty burnt out. I don't feel like I've got a strong portfolio, and for all the areas I'm able to do, some of them have lacking portfolios or none whatsoever (comics, storyboarding, 3d). Also just generally been feeling dejected as I can't seem to get any of my own projects off the ground. In addition to my sharp decline in speed in regards to commissions, I'm just feeling very incapable.
When I open back up commissions, I've been considering making them focus on a very particular type (mostly actual animal character designs, maybe kaiju and monsters) but I've been having to deal with that, well, not many people would want that. Despite how much I've really been wanting those.
Anyway, commissions are closed for the time being. Stay healthy, stay safe.

Thank you Commissioners!
Posted 6 years agoI would just like to say thank you to all prospective commissioners who've contacted me for a commission. I'd recently gotten done clearing out the queue a while back, and while I had hoped to immediately start taking more commissions a week or two ago, the place I work for kicked into over time a bit and I was given extra shifts while we went through inventory (and during back to school season... yaaaaaaayyyyyyy).
So, as it is, I was only able to start trickling out communication to those who've inquired. Nine (9) people total have inquired and, of those, I've managed to get back to four (4).
I appreciate all ya'lls patience. I'm going to try to get back to you remaining five soon here.
But just in general, I really appreciate everyone's patience, both old commissioners and new. It's been a while since I've done commissions and so I was very rusty and trying out new ways to work on them. I felt I was able to get a lot of commissions done, but I didn't feel effecient at it and I felt I could probably have found a way to organize my communication more. In addition, I was stress testing how big I could make my queue, and at times I felt I bit off more than I could chew.
So, this is to say, I felt I made a lot of mistakes and wasn't fully thought out on what I was doing, but everyone was very cooperative and I really appreciated your patience. uwu
If you're interested in a commission and haven't contacted me yet, you can find my info here: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/9198335/
I'd be happy to answer questions, but I won't be taking any more until I have this next queue of nine cleared out. Thank you!

Commission Info
Posted 6 years agoFinally getting around to commissions. A small post here to start things off: https://twitter.com/SpottedAlienMon.....85565442957312
Lines Start at $15
Flats Start at $40
Full Color Starts at $60
Character Sheet (front, back, side, details) starts at $100
You can DM me here, or on Twitter/DA/Tumblr if you watch me there.
Paypal invoices only
Especially interested in doing regular animals if anyone is interested. Haven't gotten to uploading my more regular stuff here (as I usually post my fetish stuff here), but I hope to put those here soon.
Please understand that I'm still pretty tame when it comes to most fetish stuff. More specifically, I won't do:
-Eroguro
-Beastiality
-Babyfur/pedo
-Slob
-Diaper/Soiling/Watersport
-Hyper gentitalia
-I think that covers it, but I'm not sure. If you have a question, please ask
I don't usually do male wg or musclegut, so I'm afraid I'm not very comfortable with it. I apologize.
As always, if ya'll have questions, please send them. It's been a long time since I've formally taken commissions, so I'm still rusty. But I look forward to working with you!

Commissions Closed
Posted 7 years agoThank you to everyone who commissioned me! I'm finishing up the last few commissions right now, and I plan to start uploading stuff soon.
Again, I really appreciate everyone who commissioned me. It's been a while since I've been in the game so I'm a bit rusty, but that's primarily why I went with the $40 waist ups. For one, it would make options easier, but it also helped me remember how to do Paypal invoices, and my general process for updates.
I will say, this has also helped me realize that I need to update my prices. I forgot that Paypal takes out a fee on invoices, so I shouldn't need to raise them a ton. But it's still something I'll need to do for the future.
I've taken down the $40 commission info, but I plan on replacing it with a more standard commission pricing sheet.
Thank you all for your generosity!

Commissions, And Why I'm not Open For the Time Being
Posted 7 years agoI've been getting a couple inquiries about commissions. I would definitely like to do some, and maybe in the future I can take some quick ones. However, currently, I'm still in school so I have homework I need to take care of and I also have a day job. As such, my time is pretty occupied so I can't really spend time on commissions.
I want to take some time to rework commission info a little bit and update prices, but when I'll next be open for commissions, I'm afraid I don't know. My hope is soon (a month or so), but it will be up to school and my work life to decide that. My other option is, when I see time opening up, to quickly take some small commissions, but again, I don't know.
I'm very appreciative of everyone asking to see if I'm available for commissions. I apologize if I wasn't able to respond to you.
Again, I've mostly got things I need to get in order and time that needs to come up in order to start taking them. Again, thank you all for asking. uwu

The Saga of Stupid
Posted 8 years agoNo, not talking about the current White House ("stupid" isn't nearly descriptive enough for that).
Basically, for the past couple of weeks, I've been dealing with a blue-screened computer. The one I usually use for my art. So I've been doing lots of waiting on people to get it fixed and the files on there retrieved. I've been more than a little upset.
Since this has all been going on, I've decided I just need to fashion an older computer for what I need. So, now, I do have a setup that I can work with and for the first time in a LONG time, I can draw in PS again. This is a huge weight off my chest, even if I don't have all of my files.
So, the past weeks have been pretty awful, though I thankfully have gotten a couple of small breaks. Hope everyone else is doing good.

Spot Recommends Comics
Posted 10 years agoGonna talk a bit about some comics I read. For some reason, they're the only form of media I can stay on top of. Not that I'm complaining. =w= But first, need to address Commissions:
Commissions are closed. Got a lot on my plate, I have some steady income, so Commissions aren't a priority. School, a job, and Weremen, however, are.
And that's all I wanted to address. Back to comics. *w*
Bone - Bone is simply fantastic. The series has long since been completed and I would describe it as Calvin and Hobbes meets Lord of the Rings. It provides great moments and is a must if you're wanting to catch something that can showcase great storytelling in sequential art, as well as provide and intricate narrative. Panels tend to move fluidly and there are some great moments that really take advantage of the visual storytelling nature of comics. I would highly recommend it to many people.
Rurouni Kenshin - A great shonen manga that I've been having a blast going through. It really reignited my interest in samurai and swords. It's been very compelling and I've been loving getting to see all the great design and composition with the pages and their utilization of panels. Something more to strive for. uwu
Awkward - A small one shot by Svetlana Chmakova (http://svetlania.tumblr.com/) that is a nice shift from action and epics to more school drama and slice of life. uwu Nothing terribly heavy here, just a nice story with a good, light narrative. I recommend it all the same.
My Hero Academia - This one mixes the sort of stereotypical, American superhero with some great twists that help it be a great underdog story. The manga's only just getting started in the West (the second volume is due out in November), but I still recommend it. In a way, it's sort of like a commentary of how superpowers would work if they were suddenly the majority. I intend to keep going with it, and I recommend it to you guys if you want a good underdog story mixed with traditional shonen and some American comic book superhero influence. uwu
Eyeshield 21 - One of my all time favorites, decided to try and start collecting this one. If you're unfamiliar, it's a sports shonen about a kid who's used as a gopher suddenly joining the football team. He then progresses to become the fastest sprinter in football. I definitely recommend it if you're interested. Just know that it's pretty long (but pretty good uwu ).
Pluto - From what I've dug up, this is apparently an omage to Astro Boy, focusing the on "The Greatest Robot on Earth" arc. But I've been very impressed and I'm really liking the ride. The world building is great and the plot is driving. I'm only one volume in, but it's 8 volumes long. Comparitively nice and short in comparison to others I've picked up. Can't wait to get the other seven and see the full story. uwu
So, yeah. If you're looking for something new, I recommend a lot of this, especially Bone.
And, if you've got some recommendations for me, I'd be interested in hearing them. uwu In particular, if you know of something that can be finished in a couple volumes/one (rather than 20 or 60 ;w; ) I'd definitely like to hear about them.

Life Update, also I'm lousy TwT
Posted 10 years agoFirstly, I apologize that I've been so abysmal at responding to comments, watches, llamas ... my message count has become huge ... I really do need to apologize. I just feel lousy because I've been letting my productivity get away from me. There are some reasons behind this (been watching a ton of anime, starting a job), but I'm the kind of person who blames themself a lot, so, yeah. I'm a bit frustrated, to say the least.
Now, onto some updates.
Weremen 12 is in production. So is a comic I would rather complete before I talk much about it, but it's got a dragon, love, and it's kinda shoujo, so if you like that, I hope you look forward to it.
As I said before, I got a job! So I finally have some steady income to rely on. The big question for me right now is if this will be enough to help me afford school, so we'll see. But I at least have something.
For commissions, this unfortunately means they'll take a backseat. They will not be open for a while. I apologize for those of you who were wanting some, but I simply can't give commissions they time they would need right now.
And, as I said previously ... I watched ... a ton ... of anime. In particular, Haikyuu!! was another favorite I recently saw. Finished Season 1, and I'm ready for Season 2. uwu
Can't think of much else to say, but yeah, thanks you guys for your patience! I'll make a greater effort to get back into an art swing. I might even upload some sketches I made today.
Take care! ^w^

I Watched a Lot of Anime
Posted 10 years agoI guess we could say in general, but in particular, this weekend.
Started and finished Toradora. It was really good and made me cry at least once.
Finished Kimi ni Todoke. Such a nice anime. =w=
Sampled some Clannad. Kind of unsure how to feel about it.
Started and finished Golden Time. It made me cry so much. ;w; I loved it, it was such an emotional rollercoaster for me, I'd like to find it on Blu-Ray/DVD if I can.
Sampled a bit of Acchi Kocchi. It was nice, and definitely a good break from heavy emotions. =w=
Rewatched the ending of Golden Time. It was just such a good ending. ;w;
Then watched Food Wars. I'm definitely interested, though it's a bit ecchi. Still, was a very nice respite after Golden Time, which is probably one of my favorite anime, now.
So, in total, it was a somewhat pleasant break. =w= Just stinks that, if I decide to watch anime, I can't do much else, especially when all I'm watching is subtitled.

Mechs and Robits?
Posted 10 years agoBeen thinking I need a little more practice with machinery. Heck, I need more practice with backgrounds, too. But I’ve been building up a small list of stuff to try out and I was wondering if people had some suggestions.
The list thus far is as such:
- Blade Wolf (Metal Gear Rising)
- Cheetor (Transformers: Beast Wars), and the Dinobots (Age of Extinction)
- Kiryu (Godzilla)
- Potentially some Megaman or Zoids
- Need to think of some armor suits, too
That’s all I’ve been thinking of for now. These are the ones that have potential to happen, at least. And, of course, they could not.
Please also note that these will not be treated as, “I must draw these.” In fact, there’s a chance I won’t even draw the stuff on my own list as I get caught up in my own projects (and, possibly, hopefully, work). So, essentially, you’re sending these into the void where nothing could come of them, outside of maybe some discussion.
Regardless, thank you for taking the time to read and, if you do suggest, thank you, even if I don’t take the time to reply! uwu
The list thus far is as such:
- Blade Wolf (Metal Gear Rising)
- Cheetor (Transformers: Beast Wars), and the Dinobots (Age of Extinction)
- Kiryu (Godzilla)
- Potentially some Megaman or Zoids
- Need to think of some armor suits, too

If you made a comic ...
Posted 10 years agoIf you could make a comic, what would you make?
Gonna try my hardest to start production on a comic here, and I thought it might be interesting to listen to others talk about their ideas.
So, what would the comic be about? Who would be the protagonist? Antagonist? Main theme? Setting? What would the layout for it be? Don't have to answer all of these or stick to them, just figured it might help guide your thoughts a bit. uwu
Hope to hear from you guys, and I myself am gonna try to up my focus and get to work on my own. uwu

Talkin' bout Game sturf :V
Posted 10 years ago I needed to get the Wii ready again, before I start playing Spectrobes: Origins. So, I decided to pop in Mario Galaxy 2 so that I could test it through.
Started last night, had some difficulty at first because the Wii remote was acting up. Even after putting in new batteries, it was unresponsive, occassionally trailed off, and needed to establish a connection again very often. I was fortunate that I had a second Wii remote so I could sync it up. And that one worked quite well after a change of batteries.
When Mario Galaxy 2 finally got working, it was fun to play and I even played it some more today. There was a small bit of nostalgia going back to it, having released about 5 years ago. And after having watched some Let’s Players between that time and now, I found I was a tiny bit better at it than I think I used to be. Still remember the trouble the Lakitu boss gave me (and how much of a jerk he was), but I found Gobblegut, who I know gave me trouble, oddly easier. Also, began headcanoning female Gobblegut. :V
In addition to that, going back with my new knowledge on video game development made me very analytical of the game. The game is gorgeous for Wii standards, and I found myself wondering how they made the game look so good. My biggest guess is a ton of professional texturing work and some tricks to make you overlook some of the subdivisions that would have been there. In addition, there weren’t a ton of sprawling worlds, just segments that needed to get focused on. As such, they could devote power to other things.
Admittedly, it also makes me want to purchase Sonic: Lost World when I get a Wii U.
But, boy, the hassle with the Wii remotes made me think about how I’m not crazy with how the Wii is set up. The remotes have no wired option, and there is sometimes a little hassle with the motion detection. Coming to the Wii from the PS3, I’m glad the Wii U will come with the game pad. While the Wii certainly has some fun games, it can be a little trouble when it comes down to it, and if you’re not fortunate enough to have what you need for the Wii (batteries, space for the sensor bar, a spare controller in case the others don’t work) it’s not going to be fun times. And it’s just a good idea to have a wired controller option, as it can remove some frustration and guess work on the consumer end of things.
Which reminds me, I need to get some additional memory for my PS3. I bought Ni No Kuni when I saw they had a sale, but my little 80 GB of memory is all used up. ;w; So gonna have to start that process.
Also, if you own a PS3 or another Playstation system, they’re having a sale on PSN right now. I bought Ni No Kuni for $4.80, which is a steal by any means, and that’s only one of the games on sale (I saw Okami was on sale, too). I highly recommend you check it out, they might have something you want. But it only lasts until the 19th of May.

And for the first time in two years, I don’t have a summer class taking up a healthy portion of my time.
I can actually work on getting a job and making comics. I can actually focus finishing Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus and the Kingdom Hearts Collections and starting Spectrobes Origins. I can actually focus on stuff I’ve been wanting to do. ;w;
I can also work on stuff I owe, and boy do I owe my Patreon subscribers stuff. I’m super sorry to have kept you guys waiting for so long. And hopefully this means I can start making a dent in Weremen, as that’s been gone a while, too.
Anyway, thank you for the patience! I’m going to need a little while to get back on my feet, but then I think I should be hitting hard. uwu

Life Update, Quick Commission Talk
Posted 10 years agoIt's Finals Week. ;w;
Been in over drive with school and stuff for quite a while. When I'm not busy with school (which is almost constantly) I have to catch up on rest, which really frustrates me because I also want to be doing art.
Regardless, Finals should not take long (all the work just needs to be completed), which opens the matter of commissions. I'll be looking for a job when I get the chance, but I do plan on taking commissions as I get at least a little traffic on those. But not for a little while. It might be a couple weeks before they open up. Due primarily to the fact that I have Patreon stuff backed up to Hell, as well as other priorities I want to address (not the least of them being Weremen and comics).
So, what about other news? Well, recently got interested in Spectrobes, so a week or two ago, I ordered Spectrobes Origins for the Wii. Came last weekend, so I'mma see about playing some of it. Also got an interest in Yooka-Laylee. Not played much to any Rare games before, but knowing the history behind Yooka-Laylee, I'm definitely interested. uwu And looking forward to Digimon Tri, since they just released the new trailer. =w=
Been thinking about my next console purchase. Gonna have to wait a little longer, that much I know. The PS4 has more games that I want, but the Wii U has more games that are currently out. Not a bad place to be caught, for sure, but makes planning a little difficult. ;w;
Recently thought about a Marvel AU where villains are heroes (primarily Ultron being a hero) so I wanted to explore that, too.
And one thing that I'm most amped to do: Flygon sub-species. Because sub-species are a popular thing now, and I wanted to try that out. uwu (and I view them a bit as Fusions, which are awesome >w< )
Mon Kai is staying on the list of things I need to take care of at some point. Also just want to branch off and do a random comic, even if it doesn't use any of my characters. And just start doing small animations. Either After Effects or Flash utilized. And I need to do more 3D modeling. And there will inevitably be random doodles between all of these.
Gah. So much to do. ;w;
Also, something you guys might find interesting: Rexodus http://www.rexodus.com/
It's a comic project a team is currently working on, and it looks kinda cool. I'm keeping my eye on it, thought some of you might be interested as well. uwu

Punk Love: New Animation from Me
Posted 10 years agoAn animation I've been working hard on for the past couple of weeks: http://youtu.be/6XsJhABi8TQ
I was trying to do frame by frame, but I couldn't use any of it when I realized it would never be done for it. So I had to quickly switch gears to get this done. Still like it, but also really frustrated with it. :T

Current Affairs
Posted 10 years agoTLDR; Things be busy. ;w;
On the $1,000 I needed for school: Wasn't able raise enough money by commissions, but thankfully, some things went to my advantage. Long story short, I was able to get $500 (due to family being very kind ;w; ) and use money from commissions for my first payment, and I was able to find some spare money from saving up change for the next payment that I could use with commissions (remember to save kids).
Unfortunately, next semester will require me to make more consistent money. So, unfortunately, I will most likely need to be looking for at least a part time job, otherwise I won't be able to attend next semester. Though, honestly, I don't feel like that will hurt too much other than keep me in school longer for the long run. Much as I hate that, it might be unavoidable.
On the school side of things, been very busy. My 3D modeling class will be just a tad busier, but the kicker for me is my animation class. I'll be doing some frame by frame, and I'll be sure to share it, but it will be a lot of work. Going to try to make time for personal art, but I'm not sure how much time I'll have.
On the note of personal art, I've been into texturing as you guys have probably noticed. I really want to up the quality of my art, which I think getting a better understanding of materials such as fur and feathers will do. I also need to get back into putting backgrounds in my works. Weremen has also been weighing heavy on my mind, as well as the Patreon art I owe. But I've been so busy I just want to take whatever free time I have for just laying down, sleeping, or doing nothing. ;w; I hate doing that, but at the same time ... ugh.
Busy time has also kept me from responding to comments and such, so if you're waiting on me, that'd be why. ;w;
Also, you guys are gonna probably groan at me saying this again, but I just really want to make a comic book. Just seeing others art and the way other artists blend color and line and just ... I wanna make one. ;w; I should probably get to work on some thumbnails ... which reminds me, I made some thumbnails over spring break a couple weeks ago. I might show those off. Or I might just try to straight up line them. Don't really know. Again, I've been super busy, so my mind is a bit scattered as it is.
Things I've been thinking about (not sure if you guys are interested, but whateves): Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Eldritch Abominations and their relations to other god pantheons, Digimon, Fur texture, Feathers, how do feathers work, birds, burds, and birbs, Ninja Gaiden, scenery that lies on the abstract end, interesting perspectives for art and landscape, and more ...
Also, sleep. ;w;
Thanks for reading! Gonna try to get back in the game, and hopefully do a couple things (been wanting to do something cute with a character of
SatsumaLord, but we'll have to see if I have the energy for that in addition to everything else I want/have to do ;w; ), so hopefully you guys will be able to stay with me as I try to catch up!
Again, thank you! ^w^

Posted 10 years agoGonna see if I can't do something Weremen centric for today. If not, you'll know I had to turn my attention to college and animation. ;w;
Regardless, I hope everyone has a happy Easter Sunday!

Looking for Ideas
Posted 10 years agoI need to draw more ladies.
May I ask you guys to tell me what sorts of women you can think of?
“What kinds of ladies?”
Stuff like, “Dark skin, long blue hair, amber eyes,” “Bird anthro, long tail feathers,” “What about a dragoness like Smaug?” “Siamese cat girl,” “Victorian era dress, possibly pregnant?” just varying forms of general and specific.
And since I know I’ve opened it up, I really don’t want a bunch of suggestions for women with extreme sized muscle, fat, etc. It defeats the practice I’m trying to get.
The general idea is that I’m drawing a woman/female in full figure and/or her facial features. Particularly getting some motion in there. Because I have been drawing a lot of guys.
Hm ... maybe I could do some CiaLink and MaLink or another ship I like ...
Anyway, suggestions appreciated! Remember that these may not happen or be uploaded, so I am mostly just asking for ideas if anyone is willing to share.
