Little idea I want to write down (Monster Hunter Related)

Basically almost exactly as it says. I really like the idea of either making yourself/identifying with one of the monsters in Monster Hunter, or making a monster that's intended to be a sort of self-insert (like how some artists have made Pokemon based off of themselves).
But, yeah, mostly just putting this out there to see if there's much interest. I'll probably try to make one based off of the Leviathans or Brute Wyverns. I've found that those are among my favorite monster groups. uwu

Sketch Commissions
General | Posted 11 years agoI'm going to try a small experiment. I've tested this a little before, but I'd like to see how you all would like it.
So I'm sure all of you have seen some of my sketchier style on digital. It allows me to quickly get out pieces, and I find it rather fun to do. They don't quite have the quality of my more set lines and flat color pieces, but if people like them, I'd be willing to take some in that level of quality.
These won't range a lot in cost. Between $15-$30 for a flat colored sketch. The more detail the character has, the higher the price the price, of course. The main thing is that I try to get it done in a relatively quick time.
This means that I wouldn't go through the normal process of drawing the layout, sending it to get approved, drawing the lineart, sending it to get approved, adding color, approval, etc. This is good as it makes the commissions all the more expedient. However, this also doesn't give the commissioner as much control over the work. So a bit of forewarning in regards to that. But besides that, the character is of your choosing (you must have a reference) and they're doing whatever you wish … within reason, of course (I'm not a terribly NSFW person as most of you know).
On the note of NSFW, there are a couple other things I don’t draw. Primarily, male weight gain/inflation/musclegut and most vore. If I don't feel comfortable with something, I'll let you know and hopefully we can continue to discuss a deal.
Prices will range from $15 to $30

Life Update

Firstly: If I've not responded to some recent comments, that is not me avoiding people. That is me being lazy and anxious. ;w; Thanks to those of you who continue to comment! I really do appreciate them.
Secondly, holy cow, I know work will probably explode on me later, but this semester is currently a lot less of a hurt than last semester was. I still need to make some money to pay off the rest of tuition, so I may have to find a way to take some commissions. But thank goodness I don't have so much busy work as the last semester (4 small essays a week, plus a couple of hours of reading, tends to kill me), and my schedule is so much better (I basically had 3 days being fairly light and the 2 days being very intense, so the 3 days were spent recuperating from the intense onces ;w; ). And I'm actually animating this semester, which I'm very happy about. uwu
Getting to look at East Asian civilizations as well, which is an incredibly nice break from the massive Western focus you tend to get from K-12. We're mostly only learning some culture, economy, and government of the East Asian societies. Kinda sad that there's not a lot of history in there, but regardless. It's making me want to learn some other languages, even a new alphabet. Particularly Chinese/Mandarin, I hear, is very useful, and of course, some Japanese would be very nice as well. Maybe some Korean ... I'd also like to study some African history, mythology. I just generally want to know more about the world history, rather than just ... how Alexander the Great was a total dick.
On top of that, not had a lot of time for games. I was able to play the Evolve Beta recently. It was okay. I probably won't pick it up, but I'm still very much a fan of the monsters.
Also ready to hear about Final Fantasy: Explorers and get my hands on Majora's Mask and Monster Hunter 4U. Sadly, still not completed Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix. Still got a ways to go on a lot of the games I wanted to beat over break.
As for the situation with my dad, he's moved out, as I've said, but he was able to find a job, so at least that's going. uwu Now I just have to try harder at getting one. :T
Recently started watching Kimi ni Todoke. It's a shoujo anime, and I've really been liking it. uwu It's just a nice, sweet thing, after being dunked into communities that seem to thrive on gore, blood, and drama, like in school where a lot of the series I hear discussed just ... have a lot of evisceration. Not to say that I'm okay with it sometimes, but it's really something I can only take so much of before I need out.
I keep jumping about on the thumbnails I work on for comics. I start doing one, then I jump to another. Ugh, I really need to stop doing this. I'm hoping I can cement myself in one soon, otherwise it seems like I'll just keep going back and forth and starting new ones for eternity (like I have been ;w; ).
And, randomly, I've been noticing that elk/deer/antlers have been on my mind a lot, lately. As well as Legend of Zelda. Been following a couple artists who draw that a lot, and it's kinda made me realize that I really need to work on drawing humans more. I just don't do that enough. Also, been thinking about ships (NaruHina, GaaIno, you probably know the drill).

Never got into it, but still want to try. ;w; If you're looking out for Sparity, not sure how much more I'll make, but I still enjoy it, so you might see a little more.
On the personal art front, I still got Weremen and the Grown up Godzooky ( http://askadultgodzooky.tumblr.com/ ) blog to update. On top of normal life stuff and the Patreon Polls. Those should be a priority. Commissions are coming along well (got a couple done recently and two lined up).
Still wanting to make that comic. I'm gonna have to try to at least get some thumbnails done before school starts next Wednesday. Wish me luck, guys! I'm gonna have to work hard to get this stuff out. uwu

General | Posted 11 years agoGotta be honest, I can't really wait for the new year. Not because I'm all giddy and excited about starting a new year. It's mostly because ... holy cow ...
This year just did not feel that good. On top of a bunch of current events that just lead to a very negative perception on the present state of humanity, this year also had two semesters that can really only be summed up as two giant balls of stress. Never in my life have I been as concerned about my grades as I was this year, and I had to save as much as I could just to spend it on university. And the year couldn't help but end off with my dad having to move two days away.
There were some positives. I had a couple good times, and I even worked with people on the CKC Comic. Heck, I got my Associate's Degree this year, and that's not bad at all.
And, I'm not gonna lie, it's been fun with this recent spur Sparity. I can't help but feel a little guilty, though, because it's not only fanart (when I feel I should be working on my own characters), but it's fanart of a series that, really, I'm not that deep into. Still, I think it's given me a little confidence to delve a little into my other ships and some other series I like, such as Digimon, Metroid, and others.
Most of all, though, I want to make something of my own. A legitimate comic I can put up for sale that was by myself. So, hopefully I can make that happen and I'm very hopeful that you guys will enjoy it. uwu
I just hope next year is better, though. I've got lots of things I want to make happen and projects I want to actually make and this year was just ... it stunk.
So here's to the new year. Hopefully, it's a lot better to me and you guys than this year was.

Update (Potentially long)
General | Posted 11 years agoAlrighty, so, gonna be a bit businessy at first here. Personal stuff is a couple paragraphs down, but gonna mention some ways I need to make back money here ...
Finals are done. Er, have been done. Still trying to rest up a bit (got games on my list to finish), but I also need to start making back money so that I don't go bankrupt for the upcoming semester. So commissions come first, and I also want to experiment with making a story pack or a comic or something. I'm also eyeing YCH and some sort of deals to help get some support. Now personal life!
So ... my dad's gonna have to move away. It stinks, quite bluntly. But at least I can still keep in contact. Though it really does put into focus just how little of a social life I have ... not gonna lie, loneliness has started to set in pretty hard. Not ... fun.
Anyway, at least with school done for a while I can do a lot more art, as you guys have probably noticed. Also wanting to catch up on the pile of games I have that need finishing. But all in good time. As usual, I'm remembering a lot of what inspires me. Dinosaurs, Digimon, even some creepier stuff ... I'm trying to just draw more of what I want and not do as much fanart. It's hard, because I'm the sort of person to easily hear demands when no one is demanding, but I think I'm doing a bit better. I still struggle with my inflation/pregnancy/weight gain fetish, though. Coupled with loneliness it's just plain difficult.
Regardless, I'm wanting to draw more couples, more women ... I just don't draw a lot of female characters or multiple character pieces. And I definitely should be. So I'll be trying to incorporate that more. Still want to draw the cute monster couples, though. And height difference. I love my ships. =w= Even if I don't have one. ;w;
As always, I'm wanting to make a comic. I just need to force myself down to make it. Working on the CKC comic has sort of helped me realize how to go about it, I just need to put it into practice. We'll see what comes of it.
Also gonna try to make a couple new characters. I'm wanting to be more consistent in drawing my characters and I really, really need to upkeep Weremen. And, yes, I'm planning to do more with Having a Dinosaur. Godzooky I've got some stuff in mind for. And I just generally need to upkeep my series.

Finals are done. Er, have been done. Still trying to rest up a bit (got games on my list to finish), but I also need to start making back money so that I don't go bankrupt for the upcoming semester. So commissions come first, and I also want to experiment with making a story pack or a comic or something. I'm also eyeing YCH and some sort of deals to help get some support. I've got my RedBubble and Patreon linked below.
The CKC comic book is done as well! It's available on DriveThru comics and the Sunstone Store currently, hopefully more places soon. As always, I would really, really appreciate you buying it. I have a pretty hefty amount I need to make back. ;w; Linking them below.
Now personal life!
So ... my dad's gonna have to move away. It stinks, quite bluntly. But at least I can still keep in contact. Though it really does put into focus just how little of a social life I have ... not gonna lie, loneliness has started to set in pretty hard. Not ... fun.
Anyway, at least with school done for a while I can do a lot more art, as you guys have probably noticed. Also wanting to catch up on the pile of games I have that need finishing. But all in good time. As usual, I'm remembering a lot of what inspires me. Dinosaurs, Digimon, even some creepier stuff ... I'm trying to just draw more of what I want and not do as much fanart. It's hard, because I'm the sort of person to easily hear demands when no one is demanding, but I think I'm doing a bit better. I still struggle with my inflation/pregnancy/weight gain fetish, though. Coupled with loneliness it's just plain difficult.
Regardless, I'm wanting to draw more couples, more women ... I just don't draw a lot of female characters or multiple character pieces. And I definitely should be. So I'll be trying to incorporate that more. Still want to draw the cute monster couples, though. And height difference. I love my ships. =w= Even if I don't have one. ;w;
As always, I'm wanting to make a comic. I just need to force myself down to make it. Working on the CKC comic has sort of helped me realize how to go about it, I just need to put it into practice. We'll see what comes of it.
Also gonna try to make a couple new characters. I'm wanting to be more consistent in drawing my characters and I really, really need to upkeep Weremen. And, yes, I'm planning to do more with Having a Dinosaur. Godzooky I've got some stuff in mind for. And I just generally need to upkeep my series.

And I also had a little bit I wanted to say about the Dinosaur Drawing Challenge I just started, so here's the copy pasta from Tumblr:
I’ve really been wanting to get back into drawing dinosaurs and monsters. I feel like this will help a bit. And if anyone wants to join me, I highly encourage it. I would love to have someone to draw dinosaurs with again. uwu Seems like a couple times now where I got back into drawing them and people just kinda … left. ;w;
As for the quality of the dinosaurs, my reason for doing this is partly to practice getting close to the original anatomy of the dinosaurs, but at the same time, it’s not my main worry. I’m mostly looking to just draw dinosaurs and to further explore my process. So if people start to freak out that one doesn’t look very much like how it’s “supposed to be,” I’m not really gonna worry about it. I’m trying to be more anatomically correct, but I’m also doing this for fun.
So, gonna put up the first post quickly after this. Thanks, guys!
