Alright, so http://www.furaffinity.net/user/thera is trying to help out her boyfriend to pay the bills, she's a real sweetheart and a fairly decent artist. She is looking to fill slots for commissions and I figure hey, why not get her name out there and help her out. In less than 72 hours they raised $1,216,574, the most ever raised on kickstart. The 900k goal was reached in less than 48 hours, which means Wasteland 2 is a go, and any donations now will add to content and cross OS support. I donated $100.

The promised kickstarter for Wasteland 2 have gone live.
Wasteland was the post apocalyptic RPG that was the primary inspiration to the beloved Fallout series.

Brian Fargo whom was the executive producer on both Fallout and Wasteland is heading this new team, and they are getting lots of the old teams back together.

I myself pledged 100, I have such fond memories of the old top down isometric rpgs that have been all but forgotten in this age of obsession with full 3D.

The kickstarter launched today with 34 days to go. At writting this, theyve already gained 143.179$ of the goal of 900.000$. With a pledge as low as 15$ giving a drm free copy of the game.

Crowdsourcing -definitely seems to be a way to get games made and funded if they have a popular legacy to draw on, I wont be suprised to see more companies jumping onto the bandwagon. The Wasteland 2 kickstarter looking to break ALL expectations of income.
