My mate and I recently commissioned a couple's fursuit together. The suits were designed for us to wear together. They are of similar colors and species, but individually unique as well.

Since our suits will only be worn together, I'm looking to get a reference sheet that includes both mine and my mate's new character.

I'm looking for people with sewing/crafting skills that want to help on a project. I'm looking to make custom dog treat bags (not to sell) for non-profit organizations for the volunteers working with the dogs.

I used to work for a facility that had treat bags similar to climbing chalk bags and these were hands down the best treat bags I've ever used, I still have a few from 10+ years ago--I've never had a store bought treat bag last that long to be honest.

Anyway..I have a basic pattern to start, but I have some changes to make. I'm not a very crafty person, so I'm hoping to have someone work with me that would be able to help.

Actually not really a hard to decision, at least not lately. Even though I've met some really great furs, and I really have a blast hanging out with my suit makers, and everyone..I've just been tired of conventions lately. It's a money pit and I'r really much rather go somewhere I haven't been before, then go to conventions.

That being said, I will not be attending RF2014 or FC2015. My next and only convention may be BLFC2015.

Ok guys, for those I know on FA that are going to RF, let's meet! And drink coffee, or eat food together..or something.

I feel like I need an illustration of Rain stuffing her face full of chocolate. It's one of those weeks..and oh dear..it's only Monday *head desk*

I've been raising Guide Dogs for the Blind for 14yrs and have raised over 23 puppies with my family and on my own. The biggest question we're always asked, is "Isn't it hard to give them up?" And the answer is yes..it's very hard to give them up. It doesn't get any easier the more dogs you raise too.
We have options for raising puppies; you don't have to raise them the entire time. You can be a puppy starter, which is a raiser that starts a puppy for someone else. You generally get the dog at 8wks, and then transfer the puppy to another raiser at 5months. This is for raisers that possibly work, that need a puppy that already has its rabies shots. There are those that take transfer dogs only, which is as stated before...maybe for those that need an older puppy. For those that are very experienced raisers, or leaders (like myself), sometimes there are difficult dogs that require an experienced raiser, and we would work with the dog until they return, or could be transferred back to their raiser. And then you have the raisers that have their puppy the full time. This mans you get your puppy at 8weeks of age and the dog is recalled anywhere between 15months to 18months. You get your dog for a year (barring any transfers or career changes). You bond deeply with your dog, and your dog goes everywhere with you. Mine come to my office, they go to the store, to restaurants, to the movies, to camping, and weekend vacations.
But even though they're our dogs for a year, in the back of our minds, we always know that these dogs are moving on to do great things. They may be a breeder for Guide dogs for the Blind, or they may go on to be a great service dog for someone in need. I also know that the organization takes care of their dogs, and I know that even if I don't get my dog back, that they will be matched up with a home that is perfect for them.
So yes..it is hard to let go, but I have great hopes for my dogs and I know that all the time, energy, and work I put into my dogs, will be passed on to someone else that needs a great dog.

So the idea is born:

The mystery amount will be between $5 - $100

I have no expectation of what you do for me, just that it be my character(s).

As an example, $5 could mean a stick figure, a rough sketch, a doodle, an icon..

$100 could be a full illustration, a crocheted animal, a clay/sculpey figurine, etc. (if you do a traditional piece, I will pay for shipping to have it sent to me)

I'll be recovering from BLFC this entire week. It was so much fun and I'm definitely going to go next year!

We travelled by 12 passenger van from the bay area to Reno. I'm not sure what would have been cheaper--plane or van, but I had my suit in 2 action packers plus a bag for clothing. With 5 people int he van, we were able to shove all the fursuit cases/boxes into the back and leftover seats, so it worked out well.
We arrived on Friday at about 2pm.
I had reserved 2 connector rooms, but only 1 was ready. The hotel lost one of our carts--the most important one with all the fursuits on it! So we had to work that out. The bellhop was on top of it and he returned in about 15 minutes, which was the timeframe he gave us and had the cart for us.
Registration was fast and easy and there was no line! yayyyy. I got patron this year and the gifts were amazing--it motivated me to want to be patron next year too.
I had to go back to the front desk to check if the second room was ready. The front desk tried their hardest to make sure I was up to date and at the end of a 45min. wait, I had all the room keys I ever wanted and since I had to wait, they gave me a refrigerator for free.

I really enjoyed the open con space layout. I felt you could hang out and chill, play with the various things laying about, peruse the dealers den.

I really liked that the dances continued as long as there were djs and people on the dance floor. I wish I could have stayed awake longer, but it was nice to know that i could have popped down there anytime. The only thing I disliked, was the music choice. I'm not a huge fan of house, electronic, techno, etc. I know this is more fromt he dj and whatnot, but I wish there was more other types of music, such as industrial (which i know a set was played, but alas, it was in the early morning bit and I missed it :( )

All in all, I enjoyed myself immensely. I suited and met a lot of cool suiters and people, hugged a lot of people. Oh! The guy that staffed the fursuit headless on Friday was amazing. I can't remember who it was, but he was helpful and would hand out towels as soon as our heads came off and would offer assistance if needed.

So I've been seeing christmas wish lists popping up. Rather than telling what I want, I had an idea. I leave in a week for Europe, but I have plenty of time to bake/cook some goodies.

I was wondering if anyone that is watching me, would like a little package of goodies. You can request something or it can be a surprise :P

I'm fairly good at making baked goods and pretty adept at cooking. If you happen to live in the bay area in california, I'd be happy to deliver to your doorstep. Otherwise, I'll ship express...no charge to you.
