Posted 12 years agoHi All. Pre-Reg will be closing soon. Reg closes on September 1st, so if you haven't reg take care of that soon. If you have reg'ed and haven't finished paying please do that soon. On September 1st if you haven't finished paying you will lose everything in your shopping cart.

Posted 12 years agoHave you got your hotel room yet? We just added more rooms at the Holiday Inn.
If for some reason you have to cancel your room at the Hilton, please contact us at hotel[at]rainfurrest.com with your conformation number and let us cancel your room for you. We do have a wait list of people that want to get into the Hilton, but the hotel is very full.

Timeline:
10:00am – Setup are start-getting things ready.
12:00pm – Start cooking.
1:00pm – Eating and talking and having fun. People that make the BBQ we should be able to have a sneak peak at the programming for this year convention.
2:00pm – Group Photo
6:00pm or 7:00 pm – will be packing up and putting another RainFurrest BBQ behind us till next year.
Also if anyone can bring stuff for fursuit games and such it would be great.
Just to let you know the Rainfurrest BBQ has became it’s own event, so if there is anyone that would like to run the 2014 BBQ talk to me at the BBQ or contact me at gene@rainfurrest.com.

Plush Costume Contest is Back!!!
Posted 12 years agoAfter two year of talks with the plushies, Rain and Rainy have convinced them to allow the costume contest to start up again.
The plushies were very angry with the Russians for sending a plushies up into space knowing it be a lone and not able to be returned safely.
The rules for the plushies costume contest will be the same we are told.
- Contestants will need to sign up to be entered in the competition.
- Once you have signed up you would need to select your random bag of goodies. This can be found on Rainfurrest operation room.
- Items in the bag are the only things that can be used in the contest. Meaning nothing made before the bag was chosen or bought in addition too can be used as part of the costume judging.
- Costuming ideas are not limited to the convention theme. Anything you are inspired to make out of the materials provided you might do so.

Posted 12 years agoThe next Rainfurrest Meeting will be held on February 16th at the Hilton Seattle Airport & Conference Center, 17620 International Blvd, Seatac, WA and will go from about 1pm to 4pm
Our next meeting will be March 23rd at the Overlake Roundtable Pizza 15025 NE 24th St, Redmond, WA and will also go from 1pm to 4pm

Posted 12 years agoWe are please to announce that for Rainfurrest 2013 - Dancing in the Moonlight all WiFi in the hotel and convention space of the Hilton will be free to all con-goers. That's right you will be able to use that laptop, tablet or smart phone anywhere where Rainfurrest is happening. More details are coming soon so keep your eyes on this page.

FurPlanet has been supporting and promoting furry writers for a number of year and Like Sofawolf Press they have been very supportive of Rainfurrest and all other convention around the world. So for this we are honoring FurPlanet.

We have a hotel alert for you all. If when your registered for your hotel room and didn't changed the auto populated dates you will be checking in Wednesday - Sept 25th and checking out on Tuesday Oct 1st. This has been fixed so now it's Sept 25th to Sept 30, but if you can please check your reservations and correct the dates.

Rainfurrest 2013 Call for Submission's for the Anthology

Several years ago, Rainfurrest sponsored an anthology containing stories written with out theme in mind. All proceeds will benefit Rainfurrest charities as long as the books are being sold. After a huge success in 2011 we are going to continue doing an anthology for our charities.
Rainfurrest Anthology Project Rules
Word Count: 6,000-10,000 words double spaced please and 12 point font so it can be read.
Theme: “ Dancing in the Moonlight: A Celebration of Fandom”
Rating: G to PG
Deadlines: Initial submissions due: February 28th 2013 where the stories will be picked and returned by March 30th 2013 for those selected for the Anthology, a 2nd draft will be due April 30th 2012 and returned May 20th 2012 for final editing by the author, and Final submissions are due by June 15th 2012. (Final Deadline may change due to publishers needs but authors will be informed in a timely manner if that happens.)
Note: All writers and artists are waiving all payments as all funds will go to the Con's charity. If you make into the Anthology you will get a copy of the book. We will attempt to find artists to do art for the stories but cannot guarantee art for each story.

Posted 13 years agoWe want to thank each and every one of you for coming this year, all 1705 of you. (a 20% increase over 2011), we are working on getting our 2013 Webpage going soon.
We expect to have 2013 Registration and Hotel Reservations open soon, and we expect to open Dealers Room and Art Show by early December 2012.

Posted 13 years agoWe have some news and updates for everyone!. First the news: The pool at the hotel will be open 24 hours a day from Thursday to Sunday night.
Now for some updates: We have put rules online about the Dance Competition, you can see those one the events page, second, we have a list of artists online now, you can view it on the artshow page. See you all at the convention.

Variety Show Signup!
Posted 13 years agoWant to entertain your fellow furs at Rainfurrest and show 'em your talent? Of course you do! Sign up now to be in the Rainfurrest Variety Show. E-mail North with the title of your act, a short description of what it is and who is in it, roughly how long it will be, and what audio/visual support you might need to make it work.
There's a mandatory audition/rehearsal on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. All the approved acts will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday night in the headless lounge to take the stage. Show begins at 7:00p sharp and ends at 9:00p.
