Opening commissions! $20 'three' colour style
General | Posted 12 years agoHey everybody! I'm looking to open commissions as my job hunt isn't quite panning out just yet.
The style is going to be similar to these;

Prices are as follows;
$20 Single Character/Two Characters
$10 Additional Characters
Varied pricing depending on the level of detail you would like in your background, probably no more than $5 extra for more intricate scenes.
Full disclosure, I use photo reference for my anatomy and posing so that may limit what I can and can not draw. Other than that I'm willing to sketch up just about anything you need me to!

General | Posted 16 years agoSo, today was like a test of my boiling point.
It all started this morning on the bus to school. My first encounter was with a woman, in her mid forties, complaining to the girl sitting next to her that she was 'in her space' and jamming her elbows into her side. She even went so far as to threaten the girl, and she just wouldn't stop her bitching, so I basically had to lay down the law and tell her that the seats are barely a foot wide, and there's not enough room for people to have their own 'space'. In less polite terms. What irked me the most however was her tone; it was as if she felt that her comfort was, and should be the most important thing even in the face of a circumstance didn't allow it. This would be a continuing pattern throughout the day.
Encounter two was fleeting, but still managed to anger me. A woman, walking down the stairs against the flow of human traffic started shoving and swearing when suddenly she looked another woman dead in the eye and asked "Didn't anyone teach you manners?" The irony was painful. She continued down the stairs with about 30 people watching her, thinking she was a downright cunt. The worst part? Again, it didn't even seem to phase her, as if she had just won some major victory by telling this person off for a situation entirely beyond their control.
And, lastly, I encountered a woman that began badgering my bus driver because apparently she felt there wasn't enough room on the bus for an elderly woman with a cane, and that a bus that had passed should have waited for her. At first it seems like she is in the right, but I've left out an important fact; the elderly woman got on the bus and was given a seat by yours truly. And yet the bitching continued. I cursed her under my breath, but it was no use. She just kept yammering nonsense until her stop came.

I've recently been inspired by a livejournal group that I'm on. The premise is that you sign up, and people swap sketches/full work, just for the hell of it.
That being said, I'm gonna go ahead and test the water to see if anyone else would be interested in signing up for something similar on FA.
I know it's risky business, but hell, what is there to lose?
So, post here if you'd be interested in sketch trades with random people. All skill levels are encouraged to join!

I'm going to get up on a soapbox for a moment, and ask any and all Americans to chime in.
Being Canadian, I get an outside, albeit biased view of both sides of this argument. I can't rightly see anything wrong with Obama, whereas Mccain and Palin both seem like lying sacks of shit.
Am I wrong though? It may just be me, but every time someone tells me they support Mccain, and I ask them why, they spew absolute nonsense. Is ignorance really such a craze in the US?
I'm frankly afraid...

General | Posted 17 years agoI'm looking for a free program to convert an image into vector. I'd like to tilt the image I'd previously submitted, but I'm getting some serious artifacting around the edges. Vector would solve that problem, I think. Anyone know anything?
