I need more money. I'm debating whether to get a second job during school, which I just paid for this wednesday. My whole paycheck for the past two weeks (which i got today) went to it. fuck... it ate up my quarterly bonus too.

I got an iPhone on Wednesday too. That was pretty chill. Dad got it for me. Living at home has its perks.

Dammit I want some ice cream now. I'll go play videogames for the rest of my night while getting FAT. Then its back to work like the bees we are.

Just got through watching Get Him to the Greek for the second time this month, only this time with my father. It reminded me why I love entertainment and encouraged me with my future plans to becoming some form of artist whether it be through graphics, film, music... whatever I choose, really.

BUT! What really got me thinking - what really made me so eager to write a journal about this shit - was what was on TV after the movie. It was a show with a bunch of engineers giving their accounts on a new AI they have created that can answer practically any jeopardy question they throw at it (and it learns from its mistakes, I'm sure), through its personal database of articles and publications and a process of hypothesis and probability. ANYWAY... Point is it got me thinking about my current major path that I just decided last semester but have not made a move for yet: Mechanical Engineering. Was this really something I think I can do? I mean... Come on... They just built a high-functioning intellectual robot. Ughh... So I was kind of put down a bit, thinking that maybe this isn't the best career path for me. I already have a majority of my art classes taken, I only need 6 classes to get into school for engineering, and I can't decide what I want to do.

So I looked up Mechanical Engineering again... Wanted to see, one more time, what I thought about it, and then maybe remember WHY I changed my major in the first place.

BRIEF FLASHBACK:

I was in the shower one morning, thinking about what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to help people. I thought about art, which was my current major. That's not very helpful, maybe a good way to entertain, but nothing useful to society as a whole - more so to just separate people. At that moment I began to think, well maybe I could design tools that are helpful and make them artistic - make them aesthetically pleasing, possibly even art show pieces that could be bought and used. Functional art - but something other than just the general chair design or crazy showerhead. I want to make things that are intuitive and help peoples needs in life, a way to make things easier while bringing them a possible compliment for having such an awesome looking tool ;) ya digg?

So what I discovered was that DAYUM! I love both science and art way too much to make a decision right now. I started doing research on nanotechnology, since that is an emerging advancement these days I guess. Turns out that quantum mechanics is actually what I've been thinking about the last two fucking months! No joke. I mean... I knew I was thinking about it, obviously, atoms, molecules, energy, etc. But what I found shockingly eery are two synonymous sentences that I had literally said in my head two weeks ago:

1. "A number of physical phenomena become pronounced as the size of the system decreases."
2. "Materials reduced to the nanoscale can show different properties compared to what they exhibit on a macroscale, enabling unique applications."

I mean they practically say the same thing, the second being more detailed, but seriously, I have shit like this going through my head on a normal day... That can't be coincidence, can it? I love biology... physics and chemistry were always interesting... I just never thought I would be dedicated enough to them to actually go forward towards a career highly involved with those fields. But when I have these ideas in my head, theories of how life works... I just get so excited and it makes me want to share it with others.

I need to find a solution to my problem.
My problem:
I need a general path on what I want to study.
Possible options:
-Fuck science, go with entertainment. (Easy/fun route, ~lowest salary)
-Art can be hobby, mechanics will be career. (Hard work, ~possibly boring)
-Incorporate both into my career. (Most risky, ~painstaking)
