Medical update, commissions are open!
Posted 8 years agoGoing on my third month and things are frustrating. :) This is a good thing truth be told. I still can't pick up anything over ten pounds, and I'm not allowed to bend. Try going three months without bending. Not easy! Otherwise I'm healing well.
And I've lost 25 pounds. Somehow. I haven't been able to exercise since the surgery, and all I've been doing is sitting doing art and playing video games. But that weight is gone all the same. Kind of excited now. Maybe I can lose another 25 once I can start exercising again. Want to get down to 150. 135 is kind of my ideal weight, but not expecting that again. Not at my age. :)
Anyway..

Posted 8 years agoHope it's been a good holiday for you! I'm hiding in my house, watching twitch tv. Sadly I'm a bit dizzy and nauseous, so it's been a bit of a downer for the holiday. (And that's the worst of it, so.. I'll be happy!)

Be warned, a little gross. I'm sparing you truly gross stuff!
Week two is proving to be harder than week one. The week after surgery I slept, stared at walls, and slept some more. Not that I stayed in bed, but the drugs really left me unable to do anything. I kind of welcomed this, as it meant the pain was low, and I could easily pass time. The biggest issues I had were an extreme lack of appetite, everything tasted HORRIBLE (Even water!), and the constipation is (Still) terrible.
Now that I'm off the big meds, well, the pains are really there. I'm still constipated, even on softeners, and this causes so much bloat and pain I think it's worse than surgery. Not only that, the June allergic ick hit and I've been dealing with all these issues along with being so dizzy and nauseous that I can't even sit up. This is thankfully allergies and not the surgery, so I just have to endure. Today I woke feeling decent, and immediately questioned if I had somehow fallen into the twilight zone.
Now, beyond all the bad things, I am healing well. Had a couple inflamed sites where they opened me, but some simple wound care stopped that dead in its tracks. Goodness knows four surgeries for my husband, and me having to nurse him, has done me well now.
Mostly I'm hurting, feeling bloated, and have a powerful lack of energy.

Posted 8 years agoSurgery went without a hitch and I got home around 4pm on June 20th.
Sorry if this is rambling. Still very much drugged up.
Apparently the anesthesia they used really knocked me for a loop as I wasn't even more awake then asleep until like 3pm, and they operated a 7:30 am. Almost had to stay over night due to lack of bladder function, but around 3, when I was truly waking it, so did the bladder and I could go home. Phew!
They wheeled me into OR, got me on the bed, I heard 'I'm giving you some meds now' and next thing I know I'm in recovery. No counting down, or anything. I was immediately out.
Didn't write before now because I could barely do anything yesterday. Slept more than anything, couldn't eat, and was getting dizzy on sitting up.
Really, there have been no complications. :) This is all very normal. I have some good codine, as I'm allergic to some other pain meds , so only in discomfort, not pain. If anything the annoying part is now that my bladder has woken up it's working over time. Only now, Wednesday morning, is it finally quieting down and I don't have to pee every hour. Made trying to sleep difficult, let me tell you!
Anyway, thanks for all the well wishes! <3 Recovery should go well.

Apparently the anesthesia they used really knocked me for a loop as I wasn't even more awake then asleep until like 3pm, and they operated a 7:30 am. Almost had to stay over night due to lack of bladder function, but around 3, when I was truly waking it, so did the bladder and I could go home. Phew!
They wheeled me into OR, got me on the bed, I heard 'I'm giving you some meds now' and next thing I know I'm in recovery. No counting down, or anything. I was immediately out.

Posted 8 years agoJust to note that I'll be unreachable for a couple day. More if something goes wrong and I have to stay in the hospital a bit.
Not expecting that though, and should post by Wednesday on how things went. Expect it to be weird. I'll be heavily drugged. ;)

One week to surgery.. Anyone want a simple commission?
Posted 8 years agoThe hospital has called, confirming everything, and giving me my orders. I can't take any ibuprofen for a week, and have to prepare for an over night stay, even if it doesn't happen. (They plan for it just in case something goes wrong during surgery.)
Money is super tight as they are expecting a payment we weren't prepared for, and I'm super nervous.

Posted 8 years agoI finally have a date for the surgery. And it means more waiting. Rather frustrated at this really, but at the same time, I'm damn lucky I am insured.
June 20. Yep, more than a month. My surgery isn't critical. Got to keep reminding myself of that. Bah.
But please.. My commission queue is empty. Would people help pass the word?

I do G to XXX rated, and can draw both human and anthro, no limitations on animal species. Scifi and fantasy! OC's welcome.
However, I will /not/ draw Shota/Cub/child porn, Hyper genitalia (This includes breasts), Diapers, Rape, Vore/Gore, Gross Fetishes, Drug use, and reserve the right to turn down any commission for content or personal reasons.
This still leaves a lot I will do. :) If you don't see it in my gallery it's because no one has asked me to draw it for them yet. Not because I can't or won't.

Medical update - lots of waiting
Posted 8 years agoSo the surgeon thought it was a good idea to make me wait two weeks before telling me I had to get a check up by my normal doctor before the surgery could be done. This.. couldn't have been told to me when I was face to face?
I'll have the exam tomorrow. Not sure of anything else. Bah.

Some good news - Biopsy results

Still no word on when surgery will happen, but at least I don't have to deal with cancer too. :)
Also warned the doctor about my allergies to perfumes and antihistamines. Don't want to get out of surgery, break out into hives because of the Mountain Fresh bullshit on the sheets, then die because An Epi Pen would kill me...
