Catch Up
Posted 4 months agoMight be seeing that I'm posting some older art. I've hoarded stuff for while for one reason or another, wanted to download & tweak on computer or didn't think it was worth posting at time. But since it's been so long of silence I'm just gunna put em up as-is.
So looks like last journal was Jan '24.
Since then we bought our first house, got our first dog (finally, couldn't for longest time due to rental rules), and the big one of -- we have a child now --.
Being pregnant and figuring out how to take care of a baby would be the biggest reason for absence π That's certainly a lot.
I believe last journal I was talkin bout leaving WA, and even though we bought a house, that idea is still on the table. It likely won't be for few years though. Will see, we're also fairly content now so who knows. We miss our east coast friends & the familiarity/culture there.
It's been nice having our own house though. It needs a lot of work but it's exciting seeing it progress. We still need to unpack things, mostly my art studio, the computer isn't set up still so everything is via phone presently. Not a lot of free time with baby, so progress is slow. But we're chugging along. The new town we're in is very scenic and quiet. A welcome change from our previous spot that was getting more built up & busy.
Can't really speak to what projects to expect from me. With the studio still needing work & lack of free time it's hard to say.
If you're here for my art I super appreciate that. I'll share when I can πππ

LINKTREEMore Like A Person This Time
Posted 2 years agoI swear I still draw & overall exist, believe me ππ
Howdy citizens. Idk if people are active on this site these days, but I still check it daily.
Wanted to write a new thing cause my last journal was very robot π€ So here is a more personal writing as to what I have going on.
Mr finally got a full time fire/ems position, which is big yay π, but it is also going to keep us in the seattle region for minimum 2 yrs.
We haven't particularly enjoyed our time here. It seems there's some sort of culture difference of west coast vs east coast that isn't meshing well. Additionally the whole 2020 thing decimating any hope of social life that we were just barely getting out footing in. I've concluded that WA is a fun place to visit for scenic/nature, but not for living (at least for us/me).
It sounds like after 2 years Mr will have more opportunity to move out of state. I very much hope that will happen, but who knows. Idk that we'll get back living northeast ever, but there's lots of other areas to try.
Currently I'm working fulltime at a print shop on the production floor. It pays the bills. I much preferred my previous engraving job, but it did NOT pay bills.
On a more fun note, I recently got a 3D printer π I have to set it up still, test it out, fiddle with modeling programs before I can really get rolling on it. But maybe some cool stuff will come of that. I have β’Β°ideasΒ°β’.
Also I really really want to get Uru v3's head completed this year. It's super close, if I could manage not to constantly jump between projects it'd be done π
Aaand speaking of jumping projects, others on the docket: Refurbishing 3D's old head. Head just needs new eyes, then I'll be making a tail & hands to sell him as a partial. I imagine that will be ready to go by spring.
Then I have a realistic black sheep in progress for myself. The head base is done & I believe I have all needed parts. Fairly low priority on this one, so who knows when this'll get done.
I'll wrap it up there.
I'm a lot more active off this site.
I've gotten fairly active on Tiktok, which I cross-post to Insta & twitter.
Twitter is exclusively fursuit related content, so wips & finished work.
Insta Is same but I'll post art there too occasionally. So probably go Insta if you want everything.

LINKTREE2023 Update
Posted 2 years agoHaven't done a journal post in while, plus I don't post generally as often, so let's get into it.
Currently I am open for fursuit parts commissions.
Running an offer of if I already have all the fur needed for your project then you get a 10% discount.
Starting Prices Here
Reminder that I do have a full time day job & art is in my free time. So commissions are completed slowly. I do not take due by dates.
As for art I have added a folder to my gallery for YCH pieces. These are always available and generally finished within a week of payment.
YCH Options
I'm honestly pulling back from online presence, social media is a big headache anymore.
But making dumb short tiktoks has proven fun. So if you're into that you can see those on the medias listed below.
And that's bout all I got.
General life stuff? Uh.
Being an adult is stupid.
Work full time & still can't afford s**t.
I miss my east coast peeps.

LINKTREEVideo Editing Programs?
Posted 9 years agoCan anyone recommend me some video editing programs?
I have a laptop with windows 10.
I'd prefer a free program, but if there is nothing good in the realm of free then I'd still like to hear options.
If theres any other info you need to properly suggest something, let me know.
I want to start doing video journal type stuff.
If I could talk out loud in a straight forward way then editing wouldn't be super needed, however I need to chop up whatever I record and re-arrange for a coherent video.
Please and thank you <3

Art - Areas I Could Improve?
Posted 9 years agoI am asking for honest critique of my art.
I'm certain there are things I can improve upon.
Sure I could think up things myself but I'd like to hear opinions from outside eyes.
Can understand if this is difficult to opinionate on.
I don't draw super frequently anymore so there isn't as much bulk to compare.
Would really appreciate and enjoy some feedback though.
Will delete this after a day or so if no response.

Don't Do The MFF Art Show
Posted 10 years agoI had the unfortunate experience of bidding on an item in the art show at Midwest FurFest.
I'll try to TLDR before explaining the full experience.
Item I bid on went to Voice Auction. I didn't make it to voice auction. Winner list for auctions were not updated with voice auction winners. Not seeing my name listed I assumed I won nothing.
After con got an email threatening me with a ban if I didn't pay for item I had no idea I won. Paid for item as well as shipping cost. Item arrived in a beat up thin walled box. Item was pottery so obviously it broke.
Now for the thrilling full experience!
Skip ahead to day of art show pick-up.
Mr had won an item at the art show as well, an item that did not go to voice auction.
We arrived about 20 minutes after pick-up and voice auction were scheduled to start. I went to the room where voice auction was -supposed- to be. The room was empty and nothing looked to be occurring there. I guess not much went to auction and it ended quickly? (or no one showed up cause it was super early on sunday).
So I returned to the line for pick-up. I double checked the list of winners and did not see myself listed anywhere.
The line was at complete halt for regular pick-up. We waited 30 minutes in line without it moving an inch.
Decided we'd come back later. Walked by again an hour later to see the line had grown exceptionally long and still appeared to not be moving.
We ended up coming back around 3, an hour before pick-up was scheduled to end. Line was actually moving now, still slow, but progress being made.
I checked AGAIN to see if an updated list of winners for voice auction had been posted. Didn't see any new lists. Accepted that I did not win the item, mr got his item, we continued with the convention.
It is now after the convention. Home sweet home.
Oh look, an email
Oh. I tried to check if I won anything and you're threatening to ban me for something that isn't my fault. Well thats fun.
I get it, you want to make sure you get money.
Anyway I respond with my payment info and inform them of what happened at the convention to prevent me from pick-up.
They admitted that they never even tried to post an updated list
So if you didn't even try then how is it my fault?
- Side note, I tweeted at MFF and this was their response .
So, you're a convention. You get money from your attendees. You are a business providing a service.
I do that too. I am an artist and I make fursuits. I provide a service to my customers.
How would you like it if you got a fursuit from your maker, and upon telling them about a problem with the thing that they made, they responded with "Well YOU tell ME how to fix it."
Thats a f*cking slap in the face.
Thats saying "Well if you're so good at it why don't you do it yourself?!"
I gave you money. YOU are providing the service.
I am not geting paid to tell you how to do your job.
It is your responsibility to do trouble shooting.
Not mine.
So anyway.
I paid for the art show item.
I just received it today!
Look at.
The beautiful.
Condition it.
Arrived in.
Oh and thats how the box looked before I even opened it btw.
And the fragile pottery was wrapped thinly in newspaper with a single small square of styrofoam floating around in the box.
Yes excellent.
Glad I paid for it.
Glad I was forced via threats to pay for it.
Glad I paid extra for this expert shipping of a fragile item.
Glad they treat their customers with professionalism.
Glad they rattle off excuses instead of accepting they made mistakes and apologizing.
Yes. Good. Great.
I've emailed them back with photos of the box and item I received.
Shall see how they respond.
EDIT - I was refunded all $ towards this item.
I received an email from MFF's Finance Director, who was exceptionally professional and polite.
Its unfortunate that things had to be elevated to this point to receive a proper level of customer service, but it does exist at least!
Hopefully in the following years they will improve on this area which I, personally, had serious issues with.
