The Very Short AC Con Report 2012
Posted 13 years agoI lied xP i just have too much nonsense...possible spelling and grammar errors..
well first of all, this is my first time going to US and my very first Con! Squeeeee!!~~~
Was kinda a rush before the trip...Did my packing 3 days before taking off, and managed to finish up 2 badges (Mik and mine) in time. A big thank you to RygarOfTheWind for lending me his D300 and Sony Handycam, it is definitely so much better than shooting with my Nikon P500. I was really trigger happy even before the con...hmmm took 358 pics before even reaching Westin.
Tuesday
Arrived at Westin on Tuesday evening and waggable was already suited and running outside the hotel. The hotel looks just like any other normal hotel where humans stay in xP if waggable wasnt there
Wednesday
Woke up rather early the next day, ard 5 plus 6, not quite used to the early sunrise there. Walked down the streets and had Macdonald's for breakfast! xD and hurray for free wifi at Macs!! woots! A bit of shopping at the CVS next to Macs to get drinks and a bit of snacks...headed back to the hotel and it was only 10am.
darklurker then brought us ard Pittsburgh to do some sightseeing. Me, being trigger happy and alien to the place, started taking photos of the streets, buildings and shop signs xP Everything was sooo different! *mountain tortise* We finally got back to the hotel ard noon and DL starts showing us around the hotel (The Zoo, TigerDen, Function Rooms, Con Ops,..).Bumped into KP and chatted a bit. Zoo was still really empty, prolly 3~4 furs. Then Jake staghorne appeared! Funny lil jackal xD Sat around and have a lil chat with bluecanary,thesonicgod,gear-paw,Ash-Pup
Decided to head for lunch at Furnandos (Furryland Cafe) with the local furs and got our doggy bowls and t-shirts! ^w^ Went back to the hotel and the lobby is already starting to get packed with furries! lots of fursuiters were present as well. Headed back to the Zoo and i was immediatley called by Firr firr =3 and he did a badge for me! haha so sweet of him.
Went back down with my kitty to welcome junias & norstein and showed them to their room, which was next to us! Kitty and I met up with Shortwave after that and had quite a long chat, kitty let him tried our local "Longan and Red Date" drink, which he finds it delicious! ^^
As nightfall, Kitty suddenly said he is gonna suit xD so yeah, Mik was up and running! Somewhere in hotel, we got a free shrug from Gw0lf xP
Mik finally meet his maker again kodi_pup outside the hotel. rehli was there too! he was so cute! lovely voice he have as well. Con hasnt even start yet and there are already so many things going on!~
Thursday
Manage to wake up slightly later, more sleep!! and headed to Furnandos with our local furs for breakfast. After that, DL showed us around the convention area and head for pre-registration! Queue is already forming there!Fortunately the sponsor queue was short as it suppose to be :P Once registration was cleared, we were approached by some furry study thingy. Soooo mannyyyy questions!!! @_@ we did it for the fun, and had a good laugh at some of the questions.
When we got back to the Westin Lobby, the place was already swarmming! furries, suiters, cameras (BBF camera, News camera xD) all around.
Met tzup after that, Kitty and I chatted with him all the way till the reg area, really awesome guy to talk to. Bumped into electropaw as well! snapping away with his camera xD We all headed back to Westin (Geez, how many times have i walked up and down)...Caught Xander (gear-paw) in suit! such a cute ferret! :3
Mik decided to make an appearance again, and we head to tzup's room. Met

After Kitty got outta suit, joined DL,
aikenwolf, Skippy, Jimmy, EP, Tzup for dinner at the indo-fusion restaurant...i shall not comment on the food :3
After the filling dinner, DL and kitty suited up, so did EP and Wyoon. Photos of the 2 asian dragons (Finn and QingLong) are taken! and Mik met another cat, Coopertom! the "MEOW! IMMA CAT!" is still stuck in my head. And there, we head back to DLCC again to check out the dance floor. The music was good, effects was good and lighting was good!
Friday
Today suppose to be day 1 of the con! but it felt like day 3 already x3 guess its a good thing that it has only just about to begin =)
Woke up even later today, guess we a adjusting too well already, grabbed a quick bite at Furnandos and prepare to suit up for the Opening Ceremonies. I got to suit up as Mik for it ^w^ Did try to use the camera in suit but cant really focus on the object :P
Queued up for the fursuit badge after the opening ceremony and got badge number 124! Thank you Grandma Kage for presenting the badges! Continued to look ard dealer's den and artist alley in Mik. Spotted a Dorsai and manage to get a band from him, yay!
Walked back to Westin on the ground floor and we got stopped a few times by the public for photos. Went back and changed out after that.. it was so warm outside the hotel~
Met up with U&G furs briefly in the evening. Kitty and I chatted with
and 
at the Zoo. Half way thru the conversation... 
FLUX APPEARED!xD i just got to get a hug from him! and he handed me some of his spiral stickers, thanks Flux!
We somehow ended up in toastedwheat Toasty's room and him showing us his pockets xDDD it was jawdropping to see whats in it lol. Nothing much after that, me and kitty took a walk to DLCC, visited the puppetorium, caught a bit of JR's live show (it was hilarious! brief meeting with
bucktowntiger as well), and check out the dance floor. Got back to the room past midnight.
Saturday
Too lazy to go anywhere for breakfast in the morning...headed to a cafe in the hotel for a bagel and fruits (haven had those since we touch down). Highlight of the day is the Fursuit parade! soooo many fursuits, elevators and and stairs are packed~ Helped
disturbiawolf to record the fursuit parade. I thought he was EP at first as he was in Flagstaff xD Mik had a Kodimade photoshoot, was kinda funny to see that he is the only kitty there :DDD
After the photoshoot, met up with DL to have dinner, we had PIZZA! within the Hotel. Me and DL each got our own pizza...it was bigggg (to me) finished it anw~
Back to the Ballroom for Uncle Kage's Story Hour. He sure knows how to make us all ROFL xD Go to youtube and find the program if you missed it!!

After the story hour...it seems that me, DL and smyle just crashed in our bed -zzz~~~ jetlag has caught up! but me and DL recovered after a while and head out again ard 10pm!
I manage to meet up with EP and Disturbia and hang out with them, and a chance to practice shooting night photos! xP they eventally got out of suit after that and went out with their cameras as well.

woofdude at the lobby, and we went off to Pizza Parma for supper. Once our tummy is filled again, we went back to DLCC rooftop and there was the drum/music jam. Hang there for a bit, but decided we shld go to the dance in ballroom :3 EP was back in suit again (Scout) and i actually stayed till the dance ended. Awesome time, it was 2am plus but still feel rather awake after all that.
Sunday
Seem to have a memory lapse here...i cant remember what i had for breaskfast... ah well~ Dance Competition Finals! Bumped into Disturbia at lift lobby, long wait as usual for the elevator...end up having to take the stairs. Dance comp was great! Even got to see JD and Sadarius dance xD After the dance comp, went to the dealer's den to see what i can spent on before it closes. Had a short chat with fehfeh13 which queuing up at Tani's table xD
Back to the ballroom for the Charity Performance! Metup with QL and Mik again as they went there in suit. Really enjoyed the show of Unlce Kage and 2! and QL manage to present him a bottle of sake =D Immediately after that was the closing ceremonies yeah...seems like it is coming to an end for AC 2012...
After the closing, Mik and I stuck ard the Zoo while DL get out of suit. Met Ciro there and he is so cool taking pictures with his D300 in suit. Had a chat with
goldenbullet666 and was able to catch 
in action! i just love how he draw paws!
So me, Mik, DL, Golden and Norstein head to Primanti Brothers for dinner as well the nearby places are closed...well Mik got his chance of taking a long walk there for dinner in suit xD Food there was really good! tried their roasted beef and cheesseeee. Im still really stuffed by the serving size in US.
Mik doesnt seem tired afterall, even when we got back to the hotel, met another kitty, Flow (flowkitty), and they were playing the the ball of yarn =3
Monday
Breakfast at some bagel shop down the street, went back to the hotel looby to see furs with their packed luggages checking out and leaving the hotel.Hang around at the lobby to say bye and give hugs to those who are leaving. Manage to catch
doing live sketches for QL! Not sure what happen again, when kitty, DL and I are back in our room, we crashed again, only waking up at 7 plus for dinner xP we wanted to try out the sushi here, and Sushi Kim it is! 1 big boat of Shashimi! ^.^ the hotel was rather quiet in the evening when we get back...i really miss the atmosphere, the yips! and woofs! i guess that concludes the silent monday night with packing of our stuff and prep to leave to the airport tml morning.
Tuesday
Had Macdonalds again, so our first and last breakfast at Pitts are Macs xD foolowed by some last min shopping at CVS. I grabbed lots of chocolates and sweets to bring back to Singapore! All 5 of us and our luggages were able to squeeze into a van cab to the airport, a save of transport fares for that!
Trip back to Singapore is nevertheless a long and tiring one...reached back Singapore on Thursday 1AM in the morning...WHERE DID MY WEDNESDAY GO?!
My first con and I really enjoyed myself, the place, the people and the food!:D

for all the tips and guides for anthrocon and settling the accomodation. My kitty, 
for the administrative stuff before the trip and Mik xD and Ryan again for the camera equipments and all the awesome furs (sooo many!) who i got to know and hang out with!!
