I ache all over....and update
Posted 12 years agoWell more so around my upper arms, shoulders and shoulder blades.
One of my best friends has just moved from a two bedroom apartment he has been in for almost ten years, to a brand new one bedroom apartment about 200 yards from me :D He had to downsize due to the "bedroom tax" here in Britain. He's on the top floor again and washing machines are NOT light! We borrowed another friends sack barrow (I forgot what they are called in America) which did make life easier between the pair of us when lugging the washing machine and other appliances up/down the stairs.
Thankfully he didn't have much to move, well he has left most of it behind as it was just junk and/or not needed. All we need to do is go back and clear out the junk which his landlords will kindly help with.
Anyway, that is mostly why I have been quiet on here the last couple of days.

Woohoo!
Posted 12 years agoI have my new computer set up and running. Currently typing this journal from it. I still need to get used to windows 7.
I opted for windows 7 cause I will not use windows 8. In case anyone was wondering.

Holy frig on mars!
Posted 12 years agoI got given an old BT Vision box (For those outside the UK it's a digital TV receiver for the company BT) No viewing card or remote so wasn't much use to me. So, I decided to open it up to look inside. When I remove the cover sat inside it is a 500gb Western Digital SATA hard drive.
Now many modern digital TV receivers have these for the record feature on them
So, if you can get hold of any digital TV receiver with the record feature, for either free or cheap, you will find a decent sized sata hard drive inside it.

Can't wait for tomorrow to get here.
Posted 12 years agoMy new computer arrives!
It's dead Jim.
Posted 12 years agoWell I bought a couple computer towers from a friend for £5 (about 10 usd ish) One was dead as a dodo, power pack was dead and upon trying a power pack I knew worked I got the dead ram beep which it did no matter what RAM I stuck into it.
Anyway I decided to autopsy the PSU.....OMFG In all the years I have taken apart electrical items I have never seen this. There is a lot of obvious heat damage on the board itself, the fuse has actually melted to the board and at least one of the transformers has signs of getting rather hot.
Then I remove the board from the PSU and look at the bottom. On the DC output all the solder has got so hot on the joints it's basically melted into one blob and where the cooling fins are for the mosfets it has done the same thing and has signs of burning too. There is also a lot of other solder damage elsewhere.

just bought me a new computer.
Posted 12 years agoYup, I had a stroke of good luck come my way so used it to buy myself a used windows 7 computer.
Here it is: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190836946.....84.m1423.l2649
I just got to wait for it to arrive.
Seller classes it as a gaming rig. It's not the best spec wise but in all honesty that will suit me just fine for some time. I don;t game on a PC anyway apart from the odd FB game or flash game, I'm more of a multi tasker with IM's. music player, web browsing etc.

Grand Theft Auto.
Posted 12 years agoI am not much of a gamer but I do love the GTA series. My favourite to date is still San Andreas. Why? Because it's a game that challenges you in various skills.
You need to be good at shooting, driving, being stealthy, flying helicopters and planes and much more.

Posted 12 years agoI hope you never need an ambulance during your stay here because you might be in for a very long wait.
Our ambulance service is suffering big time at the moment thanks to dickshits cut backs to the NHS. I am seeing stories about how people have died as a result of waiting up to four hours for an ambulance because said ambulances kept being diverted to other calls.
There was a car accident just outside last year where an elderly lady for some unknown reason veered across the road and slammed into a brick wall. Police and a paramedic car was on scene literally in just a few minutes, two fire trucks turned up but were not needed so soon left, however it took two hours for an ambulance to turn up.
Then there is this most recent incident.
My sister is now a trainee care assistant at a care home for the elderly, yesterday one gentleman went for a walk, however he only got around the corner from the home where he was found laying in the middle of the road. Paramedic car arrived in 15 minutes, it had to come from the city which is about 16 or so miles away. Police were also on scene to close the road off. My sister was sent to tend to the gentleman as it was only her and one qualified staff member on yesterday. Anyway the ambulance turns up an hour and a half after the call.
My sister goes in to work today only to be told the gentleman she spent an hour and a half looking after had died this morning. Now, it may, or may not have been related to the late arrival of the ambulance I don't know but it is believed to have been a hit and run.
I have seen many articles in the news reporting about how long it has taken an ambulance to turn up.
here's a recent article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan.....rfolk-22282571
And another in depth article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-22367202
As the second article states 8 serious incidents were under investigation in march. I'm not blaming the ambulance service, as it's not their fault they had to cut the number of ambulances on the road.

Phone Scams
Posted 12 years agoMy phone just rang so I answer and it is some guy on a very poor phone line claiming to be from BT (British Telecom) and wanted to speak to me, I thought this was odd as BT have an automated machine phone you if there is a problem with your account, anyway this man claiming to be from BT asks me if I have internet? Well, that was the first alarm bell as BT is my provider. Anyway I say yes then he asks me who my provider is, second alarm bell right there, if he was genuinely a BT rep he would have known that A: The number he dialed was a BT number and B: that I have an account with them for phone and broadband.
Be careful peeps, these can get you anytime.

Posted 12 years agoBut don't worry, it's part of country life!
All I can here is shot guns being fired in the distance by hunters in a woods just outside of town.

Town update.
Posted 12 years agoAn update on my Lego Town.
All sorted! :)
Posted 12 years agoYup, got all my lego pieces sorted.
Guess what guys?
Posted 12 years agoI just found out I have a very rare HotWheels diecast toy car.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?.....mp;amp;theater
It's the Studebaker right in the middle. All five cars have rubber tires which make them all rare as they are part of hotwheels "treasure hunt" However, if you look at the Studebaker it has very nice different wheels to the other four, and I have just found out that one was part of their super treasure hunt which makes that one very rare.

Fuck you paypal.
Posted 12 years agoThey locked my account.
I had a negative balance which I have spent the past few months adding funds too to put things right while having their debt collectors on my arse as well. They gave no fucking warning via email or phone that if I didn't fix it before whatever date they'd lock my account until it is fixed.

Spring cleaning/car boot sales/flea markets
Posted 12 years agoWell, my apartment is a complete shit hole most of the time. Why? Cause it's my home and my way. I don;t have a need to keep the place 100% spotless because apart from friends and family (which is few of) no one sees it but me.
Anywho, it does get a clean up here and there. I have just done the bedroom. The lounge I like to keep looking half respectable as I am almost always in here. Most of the time I only clean up when I am done with a task, like, if I am working on a bicycle I wont clean up until I am done, cause it'll just get messed up again an hour later.
I found some stuff to put on a car boot/flea market stall when me and mom next do one. I have thrown some stuff away cause it really was just.....junk and I was tired of moving it around all the time.
Just gotta clear the clean laundry off of the bed, swap the mattress cause mine has had it, put the clean laundry away and apart from pottering around in the lounge I'm done for today.

What a nice yet odd experience I had today.
Posted 12 years agoWell, I woke up, realized I had no bread so after giving myself half an hour to wake up a bit I went off to get some bread from the store. Anyway I am standing in the queue, it's rather busy as it's pension day, anyway suddenly this woman speaks to me, shorter than me but I'd say not much older than me. Anyway she says "Packed in ere ain't it?"
Now, I hate such social situations, I just wanna go in, get what I need and out again cause I struggle with such things, anyway I knew instantly from her voice that she obviously had a mental problem (like me) So not to seem like a prick I did reply, awkwardly.....twice as she said the same thing twice bless her. Then she asks me "Could you hold my bottles please?" cause she had her arms full and they were like slipping out, so again, despite my poor social skills I kindly obliged and held them for her till we got to the checkout.
Ya know, it doesn't take much effort to treat people who have such issues as a human being as they are.

Life update.
Posted 12 years agoI don't talk about my real life much on here but anyway.
I am still awaiting for an appointment to see the psychiatrist about Autism. Which could take another 12 months.
Upon the advice of people from the welfare agency and the asperges group I am claiming for DLA (Disability Living Allowance) Not something I personally wanna do but many have recommended it at least until I get everything sorted out.
I have a couple of bicycles being dropped off by acquaintances for minor repairs. Shouldn't take me long to do.
Mum is having to move because her landlord has decided to sell the house she is in. She is now looking to get a home via housing association (like me) cause she is fed up with having to move every six months because a private landlord has either decided not to renew the tenancy or sell the property. Mum isn't as young as she used to be and she doesn't need the stress of moving anymore, that and they can;t afford the deposit every time it happens. She may end up homeless for awhile until something comes up but she is welcome to stay at my place as is her partner.

FaceBook pictures.
Posted 12 years agoThis one just popped up in my feed.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?.....mp;amp;theater
My first beef with it is, it's obviously make up and piss poor at that, secondly, the kid is smiling. Why is the kid smiling when this is supposed to stand for child abuse?
Thirdly, how is sharing such pictures around on facebook helping such a problem? It doesn't. it's just that people can;t be fucked to actually do something about a problem so share pictures around on a social site making it appear like they are doing something.

Can I ask for some feedback please?

Meteor shower tonight.
Posted 12 years agoApparently I will be able to see a meteor shower tonight at 4am. I don't know if I will stay up to watch it as I have had a very busy weekend and been busy today and feel knackered. There is supposed to be 100+ meteors passing over.
