TheTWFZ and a group of developers have been working on a Open-World Survival Vore game called "Survivore" a few months now, and I'd like to help spread the word that the forums are now online and ready for discussions to begin!

Posted 13 years agoSo in about 9 hours from now, after a decent night's rest, I'll be leaving to head to Brisbane, Queensland for Furry Down Under! The Convention itself isn't until Friday, but as soon as I get to Brisbane I'll be getting to meet up with 
Taluthus for the first time in over 4 years, and also finally get to meet 
SolidScale and 
xJayne for the first time <3
I'll be doing things around Brisbane and the northern suburbs over the couple days before FurDU, but if any of you are going to be at FurDU then feel free to hit me up! I'll likely be in Fursuit most of the time (Dressed in This colorful bastard) or hanging out with Solid or Jayne, so feel free to approach, say hi and give a hug :3
I'll be staying at FurDU with Jayne and Solid as well, and will be attending all 3 days. I've also got a phone on me if any of you wanted my number to make it easier to catch up, I'm happy to hang with any of you who'd like to :3

Revision of Commission Prices

Originally I had a journal about "Pay What You Want" commissions. These went well for a while, the commissioners were coming up with neat ideas and many of them were rather generous in their payments. Unfortunately though, I'm getting to a point where money is becoming harder to come by, so I'm planning to revise some new proper commission prices so people have a better idea of what to expect to pay.
I'd like your opinions on this however, since I wouldn't want to calculate prices that are too high for people to afford or too low to be worth the time (Which was half the reason the "Pay what you want" commissions stopped flowing). So, let's get right down to the current ideas I had for pricings...
Base Cost
There are a couple steps in calculating the cost of a commission. First, we'll start of with working out how many characters there will be shown. I never used to do this because I thought it was kinda silly, but I've started to realize that introducing another character into a picture potentially doubles the amount of time and effort it takes, especially with pictures like I commonly draw (*cough*vore*cough*) where two or more characters are constantly interacting with one another.
Each Character = $5

Comic Frames
One of the most common things I get asked to draw is a comic. Each frame though is practically like drawing a whole new picture, only a bit more cropped and smaller sized. Though due to the fact that not every frame needs to have a complete character shown, they aren't really too much effort to squeeze in.
Each Frame = +$5

Stage of Completion
This is definitely the biggest factor. There's several "stages" that I go through then drawing a picture. I'm happy to stop at any of them, but the further down the track we go the more it will cost, of course.
Sketch = No Extra Cost
Ink = $10
Flat Color = $20
Shaded/Complete = $30
Background = $10+ (Depending on Complexity)

Internal/External
Since many of the commissions I get asked for are Vore related, you've got the choice of the Internal version of a picture to go with the original. Do note, this only counts for "Cutaway" internals. Internals in a separate Comic Frame would count as a Frame instead.

What is a Sketch Collab, you say? Well, basically all I'm asking is for you to draw some sort of sketch of a picture you'd like me to draw, and then I'll ink and color that picture for you! Please note that by "Sketch" I mean something along the lines of these or this, something that has details and such sketched in and is ready to be inked. The purpose of this whole thing is to practice with different styles and it's kinda hard to do that is all you supply is basic shapes ;D

Posted 14 years agoSo I originally started off with THIS submission to advertise the coming of a Star Wars Furry Guild known as "Dangerously Furry". Unfortunately, not many people have been voting here, so I thought I'd start a journal to get people deciding!
Currently we have a few choices for a Server. Most of the ones in the original list were never voted on so I'm going to exclude those, but that still leaves 4 Servers available. There's also been quite a few votes for Republic over Sith, but all the votes are still pretty close.
So, without further ado, let's get this voting on the way! Each person can only vote for one server and/or one faction. Depending on how quickly the votes build up I'll be making a decision once one Server/Faction has reached a certain number of votes~

So I finally got my hands on Star Wars: The Old Republic the other day. Needless to say, it's been taking up most of my time since I got back from holiday, and I was wondering if there were still any takers on making a guild together!
At the moment I have two lowbie characters on the server Tarro Blood, but I'm willing to change servers if it's easier for the majority of furs who want in :3 The guild will be called "Dangerously Furry", both in memory of the Spiral Knights Guild I used to have, and also the fact that name works well as a subtle furry title~
So, guess it's time to ask, what's your info? Here's a couple questions to answer that'll help make this a bit easier :3
What server(s) do you currently play on?
How far have you progressed (level-wise)?
Republic or Empire?
That should be enough to figure out where to make the Guild :3 Hopefully we get a nice good group going of familiar faces :D See ya' in-game!

Srsly though, I've fixed up a template for making Eye Icons like I am currently using fairly easily and quickly, and I'm wondering who would like to get one! They're free, though considering people will throw money at anything these days I surely won't refuse any tips or whatnot.
So you want an icon? Good! Feel free to post a comment in this journal or send me a note with the following info...
- A ref of your character (Or at least of the face, so any markings are visible)
- If you want to be more specific, give me the RGB variables for your character's color (Or any that would be visible in the icon)
- Choose whether you want the Left or Right eye (For reference, the one I have would be the RIGHT eye)
- A thank you and kind words
You can also make requests regarding the following options:
- The intensity of the blush under the eye
- The style of the hair (If any)
- The style of Pupil
- Markings/Patterns
So yeah, go nuts~

So looks like I may likely be going to MiDFur! Already booked off the time for it from work, and going to be booking tickets and shiz very soon!
This is just a shout-out though to anyone who would perhaps like to meet up during the con or, if possible, perhaps like a roomie! Hit me up if you'd like, and of course, I don't plan on just leeching, I'll have money to pay half of the room along with my own food and shit :D (No typical furry here)

I dunno where I was going there but basically I'm determined to get back into the swing of regular postings by forcing some art out of myself. This means I'm up for opening for "Pay What You Want" commissions! How this works is basically: You tell me your idea, I draw it up, and then you pay what you think it's worth! :D
I know this may sound exploitable or possibly unfair, but I would prefer some negotiations be made first. I'm mainly doing this for the point of getting back into a doodling mood, but if someone wants to pay only $1 for a huge-ass comic or something then it's not exactly going to help. Please be considerate~
Anyways though, consider this opening, so send me either a Note here or IM via MSN (ThatRedDragon@hotmail.com), AIM (ThatRedDragon) or Skype (Ranger2512). Please do be considerate with your commissions though, I don't wanna get swamped here or anything, so try to ask for something that'll be encouraging :3

The FA Admins have just trolled you all, and you're all falling for it :V You're complaining about something small and temporary that really isn't even an issue, and you're enforcing one of the biggest furry stereotypes of all: "Furries are drama queens".
So stand up from your chair, go take a walk, and think about it. You guys act like children more than the MLP fanbase does.
Now go back to enjoying the site~

I've got a project in the works which involves animating via Adobe Flash CS5, and I was wondering if anyone out there could give me some tips. I've used flash plenty in the past, though mainly Macromedia Flash 8 (I only recently upgraded to CS5), so I'm suddenly rusty again. At the moment I have a sketched storyboard filled out, and I just need to start refining the animation but I'm indecisive on what method to go with. I've run into a few obstacles with attempted methods, but I was wondering what animating method those out there with experience find easier. The methods and obstacles I've run into are...
FRAME-BY-FRAME
First thing I tried was frame-by-frame animating. I originally did the sketch in this method, but that was only quick easy sketches, not proper detailed stuff like I plan for the finished product to be. Also, I find drawing in flash incredibly irritating. I'm much too used to the smoothness that PaintTool SAI gives me, so seeing all these odd, mishaped lines is rather discouraging.
MOTION TWEENS
I notice a lot of animations out there (And some cartoons as well) made in Flash use a method where characters are simply cut into "pieces" that are moved individually by motion tweening. This was the original method I imagined the animation would be in, but once I attempted it I found it harder than I thought. I ran into the same obstacle as Frame-By-Frame, being that flash is a hard program to draw anything decent in, and even the Line/Pen tool wasn't giving me much better, both of which were rather frustrating to deal with.
OTHER PROGRAMS
Along with the Motion Tweening method, I then tried drawing up the pieces I needed in PaintTool SAI and then importing them as objects into Flash, but that didn't work since Flash ended up lowering the quality of the objects, and some of them had these thin black outlines which made the seams too noticeable. I also tried using the "Trace Bitmap" feature of flash, but that still kept small little smudges of the black outlines on some of the objects, or got rid of the cell shading I'd done.
NON-FLASH ANIMATING
I also was considering simply drawing each frame-by-frame part in PaintTool SAI, but I then realized this would take forever considering I was planning to even have small, subtle animations on characters, such as breathing when standing still or tail wagging. Thinking about it, it could work to an extent, but I haven't yet attempted it due to the fact that it, in theory, would be even more tedious and lengthy than most other methods.
So I'm curious to those of you who've done animating in the past: What kind of method do you find easiest? Should I perhaps even just go back to Macromedia Flash 8 if it's just as capable as CS5?
The animation was planned to be in 1920x1080 resolution (1080p HD). Below is an example image of what I was imagining the finished product would look like:

Posted 14 years agoApologies from the start at the nature of this journal, but thankfully it's not as much of an emergency as the last.
Hey guys!
Some of you may remember a while ago a journal I posted regarding xJayne's financial trouble. Fortunately that's become (mostly) settled with a BIG help from all of you, every single cent was incredibly appreciated and all helped Jayne and her family get back on their feet (Her mother particularly was quite thrilled!). But, as things go, there's always something else around the corner.
It isn't as much of an emergency as much as it is a general inconvenience, but recently Jayne's laptop, and only source of personal computing and internet-ing (I'm making this up) have been cut. Unfortunately, this also means that she's been unable to complete the commissions that have been part of the income helping her and her family, so there's a little bit of a problem there.
Now, we're aware that asking again seems rather rude, but unfortunately this is a rather valuable commodity. We're not looking for anything super-expensive either, just something that will be enough for arting/general online use. Jayne's setup up the donations journal again in her page, so I'll link to there if anyone's able to throw some funds her way.
Again, apologies about asking again, since it isn't exactly much of an emergency, but unfortunately there's quite a line of commissions waiting and the like.
Heck, if anyone happens to know of or has a second-hand lappy laying around then that would be even more appreciated! Though that's likely asking WAY too much.
