The hill I will die on is Stop Tagging your Fat Fur And Gay Man Porn As #FatBearWeek because that's a tag/event being run by volunteers for a national park about actual animals, not your nudes or giant fatfur ass. I'm trying to push that furries use #SoftBearWeek to keep them separated, but I am but one dog.

This year, on top of being included in the Fat Bear League art that barnem does, I also want to try and stream bear themed games to promote The Otis Fund due to *vague uncomfortable motion at the state of the country* though I don't have anything to incentivize people, so I'm just trying to raise awareness I guess.

I've already tweeted my thoughts but I'll make a post here too.
I didn't know him personally, but I know a lot of my fatfur/inflation friends were close to him. We floated in similar circles for so long but I never reached out. Saying that him and this website are foundational to who I am today is a massive understatement. I would not be here if not for Dragoneer and the other founders of FA. This website is the reason I have made the friends that I have, found the community that I have, finally found a place to belong. It's such a huge loss for the community. He shouldn't have died. He deserved better.

The healthcare system failed him, just as it fails so many each and every day. It hurts looking at his last few days of posting. The fear that me or someone else I care about could be in that exact same position, and have no way to survive because being poor with a health condition is a death sentence in this country.

Twitter is on fire (again) and everyone is leaving (again) and we're not coming back (again) but I'm going down with the ship like the quartet in Titanic. I am on Mastodon though. It's pretty nice, run by the community, not some techbro who everyone complained about before Elon took over. Features aren't paywalled. I don't care how many better features they apparently have, InkBunny is the site where all the cub porn goes. Going to Inkbunny is basically admitting that you know you're drawing minors in sexual situations that would get you in trouble.

So I remember during Macro March there was a thing going around that people would randomize their growth for the month based on daily dice rolls, so I figured I'd steal that for Mayternity and the folks who like hyper preg stuff :3c

Choose a difficulty:
Each day, roll a d4, d6, or d8. Add the result to the litter size.

Then roll a d4. This is how how many weeks along the litter is. You could end up at week 31, or week 124! Congrats on being 18 months overdue!
Though if you aren't into hyper preg/permapreg/overdue stuff, once you hit 40 you can just reset the litter size.

Back from MFF. Got to see a bunch of people I wanted to and a bunch I wasn't expecting to see. Though with MFF getting so big I've come to realize that it's just getting a lot less fun for me. I'm not one to stick with a single group the entire con, like most people who room with their friends seem to do, so I just sorta wander around looking for folks I know chilling out in public spaces that it wouldn't be rude of me to sit down and chill with them. That's fine, cause I know a lot of people and can usually find someone but I've realized it also kinda sucks? I'm not really deeply involved in any real social circles so I don't get invited to group hangouts or dinners or any of that, but I also don't want to invite myself and feel like a third wheel. It's definitely an odd situation to be in, just sorta floating around from person to person that I know and not really having a place to call home in a way. I've also noticed that suiting alone kinda sucks ass, cause the time I spent in suit without a buddy to suit with or a handler I just sorta spent walking in circles around the hotel lobby hoping I would see someone I know (as well as I could with my limited vision) or that someone would wave me down and ask for a picture, which isn't all that fun and is just sorta... going for a walk in a very hot costume...

idk I'm just rambling here, but I've viewed PCD as a good thing for a while, because it meant a good time was had at the con, cause blah blah blah science about serotonin, and unfortunately I haven't really felt that in a while? If anything after MFF I'm more excited to go home back to my own bed than I am depressed and that honestly kinda bothers me? I miss when I used to get PCD and be crying on the way home because it was over. If anything any sort of PCD I've gotten is more just... disappointment??? Like not getting to hang out with someone I was really looking forward to seeing or feeling like I was blown off by someone or things along those lines of stuff not going how I had hoped.

So holy heck, MFF was great this year, but with so many people (attendance was 10,000~) I feel like even though I got to see a lot of people, that I missed so many others. I know part of the problem is hoping to spend "quality time" with folks, more than just sitting at a con suite table and chatting for 15 minutes, or the even more common seeing each other in passing and doing a "Hi [person]! Bye [person]!" in the halls or something. I honestly think that as much as I enjoy MFF, if it weren't the big local con, I'd probably pass on it and look for another in the area, but all we got around here is FurSquared and that still feels more like a glorified meetup weekend than a con.

Con thoughts like that aside, I had a ton of fun finally getting to suit this year. I got my suit last year but spent most of Friday and Saturday stuck in the hotel room feeling like death with the flu(?) and by the time I felt well enough to walk around the con on Sunday, I didn't want to try and suit and get germs inside it. It was fun getting to suit, as sweaty and hot as it would get. The hotel situation is still a nightmare but I don't see that changing any time soon, especially with the con growing bigger each year.

Going forward, I think I want to try and do BLFC since it's a week after my birthday, so I might be able to convince family to buy me a plane ticket as early birthday present or something. It sounds like a con that's at a fun venue on top of being one that a lot of friends go to, so I'd like to try. I guess first step in that is getting a room, so I signed up to try and get one a little bit ago.

Giving this another shot nkw that the con is a month away. This is for one of the overflows so there will be walking to the main, but in the bright side, no waiting for elevators!

Booked a room for MFF at the Crown Royal for Thursday to Monday since it doesn't look like the main will be opening up any time soon. Now I just gotta fill it... a four way split would be about $170 a person. Only rules are the general common courtesy type stuff (clean up after yourself, don't smell, don't be loud as fuck when people are sleeping, if you want to have privacy for the room, let everyone else know) and no smoking. As far as I know, it's only one car per room and I've already signed up to have that one for myself, so if you're driving in you'll have to figure something else out. If anyone is interested let me know. Once things get going I'll likely set up a Telegram group to keep contacting everyone involved easier.

Then there's all the business with cub art. Their original stance seemed to be "any legal content is fine as long as it's tagged and rated properly" which sounds really shady cause you get into that whole legal/moral grey area of what is or isn't technically considered child porn, along with them saying to just blacklist the tags, which is also shitty in the context of something possibly illegal. Then their statement on why they banned it when they did... the wording makes it out to sound more like they did it to appease all the people saying it was a deal breaker, rather than doing it because of the legality/morality issues.

Went to see The Boy and The Beast instead of Zootopia cause that looked a bit more interesting than Super Furry Bait: The Movie (they're both pretty furry bait, but The Boy and The Beast wasn't exclusively animals, and was also more humanoid animals)

After getting out of the theater, I have not been this excited for a movie in a long time. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD and I'm almost looking for an excuse to go see it again. Zootopia was officially bumped down to the "I'll see it eventually" list.
