I'm trying to come up with my prices for animation commissions. I thought I had a plan for what my prices would be, but looking over previous animation commissions I've done, they would have been charged in the thousands!!!!!!!!
I've been talking with another friend who does animations, but he gave me the advice that I need to come up with a middle ground between the time and work I put into for my animations, and what people are willing to pay, or what they think it is worth and that is where I'm asking for your opinions.

Just a reminder, Commissions are still open for the month of April. Between now and the month of June I need to try to raise at least $600 for an upcoming trip, though I'm having a hell of a time hitting that goal with my current monthly expenses. So, I'm willing to draw for you if it'll raise a little extra funds.

Also, my Maw Patrol animated shots are open as well, though I've just been accounting the time it takes to do these, which is about 2-3 hours each, so the prices for them have gone up to $30-45 depending on the complexity (around $15 per hour).

No this is not an April Fools prank, I'm dead serious.

This year was supposed to be a respite from international travel. I was in a financial hell hole since my trip to Europe back in September: first off, my vacation pay wasn't nearly as much as I had expected, and when I got back, it took me a month to get back on my feet. Then I had to struggle to save up for Midwest Furfest, and then a month later for Anthro Northwest. So that was why I was taking so many commissions at that time.
I'm barely back on my feet again, but in a month, I'm taking a trip with the family to Hawaii for my grandmother's 75th birthday. Then I just got the bad news that one of my closest friends in the UK has a relative who's sick with cancer and only has a few months left. So, I ended up deciding on the spot to go to the UK this summer.
Unfortunately, because I'm going to the UK, I have to pull out of Anthrocon this year. :c
However, I'm planning on attending Megaplex in late August, early September.

But I'm once again that's going to make me financially tight over the next few months.

Now I'm going to be revising my commission prices this month and then starting April 1, I'm going to be holding monthly commissions. My goal is to achieve a quota of between $200 and $400 per month. Once the quota is achieved, then commissions will be closed, and that will give me the month to work on commissioned art.

I just attended Anthro Northwest last weekend, and until Furlandia in May, I won't be attending any more cons. Truth is, ever since I attended Eurofurence in September, I've been in a financial hell hole. Mainly because my vacation pay wasn't as much as I had planned, so that hit me pretty hard financially. It took me almost a month to get back on my feet with just my living expenses, but then right after I had to prepare for MFF, and I was struggling again to come up with the extra money for food, spending, and to pay for the hotel room, and I came back once more with nothing but lint in my pocket; and then a month later, Anthro Northwest; same thing.
I met a few new friends at ANW who were asking if I planned to attend VancouFur, unfortunately I had to tell them no, because I need a financial break from these cons.
Still, I'm leaving commissions opened though, I'm gonna be a little broke for a couple weeks following the con last weekend.
So... Not too urgent this time with commissions, just any help would be greatly appreciated. ^^

I was approached by someone earlier asking about those animated mawshots that I'm holding, but this particular person, I was reluctant.
It's a long story what happened between us but suffice it to say: he offended me a few months back. Now I know it is in the past, but we never came to a settlement on our issues and if there's one thing I hate, it's when someone who has offended me - without us settling our differences - approaches me like nothing has happened between us.

I need you all to know something about me: Sometimes, if an issue has not been settled, I can have a hard time letting things go, sometimes such offenses can shake my trust in people. And as for commissions, if you are seeking a commission, but have offended me in the past, then it is going to be really hard for me to accept in the future.
So please keep that in mind.

I will be going to MFF this year, but unfortunately Willy won't be.
For one thing, I cannot fit him into a single tub, I would have to bring two and while I really love to show him off, I really don't think I'm up to dragging him with me across the country this time. Not to mention two tubs take a lot of space in the hotel room. and finally, I'm not going to have a whole lot of spending money at the con this year, and I'm going to be flying Delta, which charges $35 per checked bag, and I will need two checked bags to bring Willy, so I think I'd just prefer to leave Willy at home this year.
So I'm sorry to all you fans of Willy who were hoping to see him at MFF, but I'm going to have to leave him at home this year.

I'm nearly finished with my current batch of commissions, I'm gonna be finishing a comic commission this week, and then a brief nom animation. But I'm still short a little for MFF. I know I've been saying that a lot, but since my trip to Europe, I've been struggling financially; my vacation pay wasn't nearly as much as I had anticipated, and I've been trying to pull it all back together since, it's just a couple of months wasn't much time to pull my budget back together AND save up for the next con.

If I could raise a minimum of $200 then I'll be in good shape ^^

Does anyone know any good virus protection software online BESIDES McAfee or Norton?
I've stuck with Norton for years but one thing that both McAfee and Norton that really has been pissing me off is when they suddenly hit you with a hefty surprise charge. I just got hit with a $400 charge from Norton and I'm over drafted once a-fucking-gain!!
What happened today, over the last few months, I've been getting alert, after alert, after alert, after alert for how I need to upgrade my internet security and I can purchase these upgrades, which at the time I could afford it, if they charged me immediately... but that's not what they did! They charged me altogether when my subscription rolled over... BOOM!!!

I've fucking had it! First it was McAfee doing this and now Norton. These internet security corporations are always, ALWAYS busting my balls!!! They charge an arm, a leg, and a nut to maintain your internet security and they always hit you with little to no warning!

*sigh*

I'm sorry everyone for the rant. I just checked my finances; I'm going to MFF in a month, and I've been setting up a financial plan for saving up my money for the con, as well as taking care of expenses, I'm getting my next check in 3 days, but now, I'm going to be around $300 short on my rent. So much for that. So you can imagine I'm flipping out right now!

I really hate having to ask this; I really do; but I could really use some help getting my funds back up.

I'm losing half the month on this trip, and I'm not going to have much time to really come up with the money to pay rent and my car; and even so, I'm not going to have as much money as I was hoping to take with me on this trip. So I'm trying to raise as much as I can so I have money to pay my for my rent and my car after my trip. So even if it's just a cheap commission, anything would help. Thank you all.

I just got hit with a hefty overdraft fee in my bank. I was signed up for Amazon Prime and - you know, if you're paying an annual subscription which charges you only once a year, don't you think it might be courteous to at least get some reminder when the charge date is coming? Instead, Amazon just hit me by surprise when I wasn't ready, and I got over-fucking-drafted in my bank.
What makes matters worse is the fact that I won't have as much money to take with me to Europe next month as I had initially planned >m<

I was on a good track before this, but now, I'm not sure anymore. Furthermore, I'm going to be in Europe for a little over 2 weeks and I have to watch my spending in Europe, so I still have a little extra to pay my rent after my trip. I may even have to look into temporarily cancelling my Adobe and Audible subscription (not that I use Audible very much anyway).

I would really appreciate any help any of you can provide. And with my animation finished, I'm pretty open for now.

That started out as a vore comic, but lately I've been more passionate about animation rather than comics, so eventually this page became the basis for my animation.
I haven't worked on it straight through for 2 years as I have put it down for a while from time to time, but in the last 3 months, I've obsessively been working on finishing it up. It's finally finished, but I'm not going to post it publicly until Tuesday - Vore Day.

To a lot of my closer friends, I probably already shared this with you all. I've for the past couple of months at least been going through a bit of inner angst and depression.
A few of you are aware that I'm also on Facebook, though I use Facebook (FB) for more of my personal life and keeping in touch with family and old friends from high school, but I'm to the point where I'm giving up on FB. I've been on FB for maybe 15 years, maybe a little more, a lot longer than DeviantArt or FA. As an artist who just wanted to be noticed I just wanted a place to share my creativity, my passions and life experiences with the people in my life. There are a lot of cases where I don't feel like I make much difference in my family, I don't get a lot of recognition in real life; and why should I? I don't drink like a lot of the guys in the family, I don't jam on the guitar like they do, and I don't have a tendency of acting all goofy like a lot of them. I'm an introvert at family parties, I find it difficult to interact socially. I mean - don't get me wrong, I'd love to do so, but it's always been difficult for me. I just want to share my creativity and experiences with family and friends and that's what I saw useful with Facebook, but over the years it's not really a platform anymore for sharing experiences, it's getting more political and becoming a platform for who's politically right and wrong.

Now some of you might have heard this story a few months ago during the 2022 midterm elections: some Republican (I forget their name or which state or office for which they were running) started a rumor about furries as kids in school or people in general declaring themselves as cats, dogs, etc. and using litter boxes in public instead of toilets and eating out of dog bowls instead of plates.

Now first off that's bullshit, that person's a dickweed trying to spread rumors to crazy conspiracy theorists to build their base; I couldn't trust a Republican nowadays if they told me the grass is green and the sky is blue (I mean I don't like to think I trust Democrats either, but I trust them more than Republicans). What's bothering me about this is that I have members in my family who are hard core conservative, and despite fact checking it - and coming up with nothing - they actually believe that rumor.
A few months back, a couple of them, at least, have posted that rumor on their own FB page. I mean they don't mention furries in a nutshell, but they were nevertheless quoting that rumor almost word for word. Lord knows how far it's spread among family and friends and by now.
I've been officially declared a furry for 12 years now, and during that time, I've posted on FB furry art; con pics from Furlandia, ANW, BLFC and MFF; and even selfies of me in my fursuit; I don't exactly go around spoon-feeding it to everyone like: "Hey everyone! Look, I'm a furry!!!" no, I soft-peddle it, I share my experiences and let everyone figure it out on their own. My point being, anyone who watches me on FB should know by now that I am a furry - if they know anything about furries, that is.
What's really depressing to me is how people in my family actually believe that crap when I've been posting furry art and pics for years!
I've always had faith that family and old friends were happy for me, even if they didn't see eye to eye with me on the matter, they would be happy that I found a group which not only do I feel like I fit in, but aspired me to move forward with my art and creativity, that got me out into the world and meeting people, especially the people online who I really love. None of that would have happened for me if not for the furry fandom; and yet it only takes a little rumor from a Republican to change their views on furries.
All I wanted was a place to be able to share my creativity and experiences with my family and not be afraid, but now I feel more afraid than not. :'(

I was hoping to ask this a little closer to then, but to any of my buddies in Europe, are any of you going to Eurofurence this year?

I wanted to wait a while before asking so that people would then have more solidified their plans, but so far 2 good friends told that they're not going, and I'm a little concerned because there are a lot of people who I was hoping to meet up with at Eurofurence.

I hate doing this, I just checked my bank account and an old subscription, one that was supposed to be canceled several months ago, had just charged me more than I had in my bank and I've been getting slammed with overdraft fees for two days now!!!!!! I'm going to call and find out wtf and try to get refunded, but in the meantime, I need to raise another $300.
