Why I don't like consistency with RPs
Posted 5 years agoIn previous weeks, I've had a few people nagging me about continuing on role plays, doing a follow up to a previous role play or another, or even a prelude to a previous role play. In all honesty people, I really don't like consistency with role plays.
When you look at the comics in the Sunday paper, you see the Peanuts, Dilbert or Garfield comics, it's a totally different story than what you read in last Sunday's paper; the only thing that's really consistent is the characters. It doesn't follow up to the prior comic. That's how I like to play with my characters, I don't like following up to previous roleplays.
The reason I don't like being consistent is for one thing I sometimes end up doing the same things I did previously, but that's because I enjoy(ed) it before and I want to again. Don't tell me that you don't experience that feeling in some way; whether you want to watch that same movie again, or want to go on the same ride twice. I'll be damned if anyone hasn't had that feeling before. But that's just it, I enjoyed it before and sometimes want to enjoy it again. That's why I don't like being consistent, I don't want people telling me that I've already done that before, I like to play it like it's the first time each time.
The other reason I don't like being consistent is because of my characters. Even though I've created them, I like to play it like I don't fully know them, nor will I ever, and that's what makes it interesting to me, getting to know my characters more as I develop them.

Today I just learned that the Trump administration is finalizing an executive order - lifting Obama-era regulations to preserve the wildlife in the country - that allows hunters in Alaska to hunt and kill wolves and bears - including their cubs - whilst in their dens. So basically if bears are hibernating or wolves are taking refuge in their dens, hunters can just go in and shoot them as well as their cubs.

I'm considering retiring from DeviantArt
Posted 5 years agoFor those of you who watch me on DeviantArt, I'm seriously considering retiring. To be honest, I've been considering leaving for a while now. Why? Because of Eclipse. From when Eclipse first started on DA, I gave it a try, but I could not access any artwork in my gallery - nor browse any in my faves - that was more than 6 months old; I got ZERO notifications for my groups and I never realized until I received a note on DA (Eclipse) that someone was trying to submit deviations for a few weeks; and furthermore, my tablet for some reason can't seem to access DA under the Eclipse settings. I just had to switch back to the old site in order to have full access to my page because Eclipse just wasn't working out for me. Every now and then I keep getting automatically switched back over to Eclipse and I have to manually reset it to the old site.
I heard at first that older members on DA (like myself) had more of a choice to maintain the old site, but last week, DA had announced that they are officially retiring the old side and switching over to Eclipse for good now.
You know, I've seen DA make such moves that got a lot of criticism, one of the biggest before this was the More Like This feature which was supposed to feature similar artwork to the deviations we posted but in some ways the artwork featured had from very little to nothing in common to those I posted; or because at the time a few of my friends and I were new to DA, we were working hard on trying to improve our skills and get noticed out there, yet More Like This was featuring much more detailed work and/or deviations from more skilled higher profile artists which a few of my friends and I really got upset over because it seemed like it was diverting people's attention to bigger and more well known artists and giving little chance for newer artists like ourselves to get any attention. Eventually the More Like This feature got a lot of criticism and was taken down. But with Eclipse, I don't feel like the DA staff is letting us have much say in it at all.
A slight change in the layout, I can live with; going from Premium Membership to Core Membership, I can live with; but Eclipse, I don't want it, and I never did, it didn't work out for me before and if we can't have a say in it, then what's the point in staying? DA is not like some corporation which we work for, last I checked it's supposed to be a service in the social media industry. They're supposed to work for us, not vice versa, and I'm not going to stay on a site which the staff will make these kind of decisions for me.

You know, from the beginning you have been bragging about how DA Eclipse is SO much better than the old site, but - and not to get all political here - that just sounds exactly like some dick-weed currently in the White House bragging about how his policies are so much better than his predecessor. Why don't you just let US be the judge of that? We are the ones who signed up and yes, we created an account on YOUR site, but that being said, don't you think we should have a say in the settings we prefer to use? I never asked for Eclipse, I never really wanted Eclipse, and every now and then I've been getting automatically switched back to Eclipse and I have to manually keep switching it back over. Eclipse didn't really work out for me before, and now you're taking away my say in it, if we don't get to have a say in how we want things on DA then there's no point in staying. I refuse to remain on a site which does not let us have a say in things. Paws down!

Video Chat?
Posted 5 years agoI'm just feeling a bit lonely after about a month not getting out very much due to COVID 19. I mean yeah, I still go for walks at the beach or around the lake; even go to a drive thru now and then, but I haven't really seen any of my friends since this started and I would love to have a video chat if anyone is interested. Taking a break from shading...
Posted 5 years agoI got a few art pieces that I'm working on and will be posting them this week, but they won't be shaded. I mentioned in my last journal that I'm taking a break from shading. The honest truth is I never really felt too great at shading because I just always let it come to me, like drawing, it's just a unique style for which I really have no explanation. But whenever I try to develop an actual style in shading that's when I don't feel really great at it. Basically think of it like this: you draw a picture that you're really proud of how it came out so you want to draw it again... but this time it will never come out the same as the first. That's the way I am with my shading style, I've sought a few tips from other artists who inspired me but I just always end up losing the passion for it when I try to develop a style in shading. In this case, I think I just need the passion and motivation to shade my pics. So for now I'm taking a break from shading.
Running low on funds, opining commissions
Posted 5 years agoHey people, exactly what the title says, I'm running a little low on funds and will do some art for some extra money.
For now though, I'm kind of taking a break from shading. So for the time being, I'm just taking flat colors, but that's $16 at least for a flat coloring. And later on if you want a shading done, you can pay me the difference when I'm more up to it.
Anyways, I'll be willing to do some art if it'll help boost a little cash.

Taking Traditional Sketch Commissions
Posted 6 years agoI just wanna get back into the spirit of drawing, and to be honest, I never really liked drawing on the computer as much. Although I love coloring and editing, drawing itself... I don't know how to really say this: the image I create just doesn't have the same feel to it when I copy it to the computer. I just always been happier with traditional sketching.
In the meantime I'd just like to try to raise a little extra money every month since I'm not making a whole lot with my job. So every month I'm gonna be opening commissions.

Opening Sketch Commissions
Posted 6 years agoPart of my 3D printer broke and I need to buy some spare parts. Unfortunately I won’t have much money after it’s finished so I’ll be willing to do some art if it’ll help raise a little bit. I’ll post a sample and a price tomorrow.
I got a 3D pen
Posted 6 years agoI just bought a 3D pen. For those of you who don't know what that is or how it works, it's sort of like a hot glue-gun; you load plastic filament (sort of like a plastic twine) into the back of the pen where it gets super heated and released through the nozzle and you can create 3D plastic objects with it.
I'm gonna need a little time to get some practice but if I get the hang of it, I might start taking 3D commissions.

I was just looking at a few old pictures of her last night and I kinda feel bad: Jaydom sold her to me a few years ago and despite my promise to keep her alive, I haven’t drawn her much at all. Over the years I have heard some people miss her, and on a couple other occasions I even had someone asking to buy her from me, whereas the truth is Jaydom would only sell her to someone who she trusts to take care of her (not to boast) and she wouldn’t want me to give her away.
So I’m considering drawing her again and I’m wondering who would want to see more of her.

I'm doing volunteer work at the local TV station in my town. This is not a news station (well, not exactly), this station broadcasts al kinds of programs; presentations, performing arts, announcements, etc.
I'm making a video presentation about furries, but instead of the history about furries, it's more based on the psychology and development of what makes furries that which they are. I wanted to interview some people at the last couple of cons I attended but the con staff did not want me interviewing people for public access, so I'm just asking for a little personal input from people to put in my presentation because all I have is my own personal story but I want to compare other stories to find a common ground on what makes a furry that which they are, because that is what my video presentation is all about.
Now no names are going to be given in this presentation, so I swear I will not disclose any personal information about anyone. But really this is just a study for more general information. So I would love your input.
Please do not give me just vague detail like "I just love furry animals," I want to know the details on how you developed your passions for furries. If you want to share it but don't want everyone else to see it then feel free to send me it via note.
Once again, personnal stories will not be used in this presentation, I'm taking in only general details that have common ground.

Discord Issues
Posted 6 years agoI'm taking Discord off my computer for the time being. For some reason, a couple days ago, it decided to stop working on my laptop and I cannot seem to open it anymore, I even tried to check the setup and I get nothing but errors. So until I can get it fixed I'm taking it off my computer. I'll still be active on my phone and tablet, so I won't be completely gone, but whenever I'm on my computer, I won't be on my phone or tablet, so I may be a little slow at replying to any Discord texts.

The people who I’m downsizing on are those who have been ignoring me, constantly rejecting me, just not interested anymore or just leaving me in the dark as they move on.
Now if you haven’t done any of that to me recently then you have nothing to worry about. Otherwise if you don’t want me to remove you then send me a note telling me why you want to stay.

Removing People From My Contacts
Posted 6 years agoI was looking through my contacts on Discord, Telegram and Steam and I decided to start downsizing on my list of contacts. I have too many people in my contacts who don’t chat anymore, who don’t seem interested or just don’t seem to care anymore.
So I’m gonna be downsizing my list of contacts on Tuesday night after work.
If you’re someone who I usually chat with then you got no reason to worry.
But for those who I haven’t chatted with for a while or if we had a little dispute in the past, then you have two days to send me a note telling me why you don’t wanna get removed.

Posted 6 years agoFirst off let me say thank you all to those who helped me out with finances a couple weeks ago. It really helped me stay on my feet and I really appreciate it. I will put in my best effort for those who commissioned me.
Now here's the status of the commissions: due to my work schedule I'm only having 2 or 3 hours to work on them before and after work and that's limiting my time to work on these. Also since I had three complex shading commissions, this may take a little time. I actually tried to get one of them finished last night for vore day but I only just started with the shading - this is the third year in a row that I missed posting something special for Vore Day, I'm always missing that damn deadline!
So I'm not going to be posting the commissions in the order of those who commissioned me (sorry) because due to my pushing forward for vore day, I kind of went out of order, also there are a couple others who were waiting for a commission and I got to finish theirs too. So all I ask is for your patience, please don't bother me about it, I'm gonna try to stay on top of it for you all.

I knew it was going to take up at least half of my paycheck but it turns out the final service cost me almost my full check, I’m pretty much broke until next weekend. So I need to raise a little money right now. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me to get through the next week, I’m open to donations and/or commissions for the weekend.
Dropping my load, need a fresh start
Posted 6 years agoSo to those of you who made a request to me a couple weeks ago while I was sick, I'm dropping my load and taking a fresh start. I apologize for the inconvenience. I've been in the middle of a move this week, and I've been obsessively working on a personal project at home; and as for art, I've just been in an art block for the past couple of weeks and I guess it was just not a great time to take requests. In the meantime I have some new ideas but I just need to drop my load to clear my head.

Posted 6 years agoThe past couple days I came down with a cold. I at first thought it was an allergy cold because it was fast-passing, but today I woke up feeling like sh!t.
I just threw up a little bit ago so I'm gonna spend the day in bed getting some rest.

Moving and needing to take emergency commissions
Posted 6 years agoFor those of you who aren't aware, I'm moving back to Longview, Washington. I'm moving back in with the family partly to pay off my college loans but also to save up some more money because I'm planning in a couple of years to do some travelling. But these last few weeks in moving my stuff has taken a real toll on my finances, especially with gasoline, car maintenance, food, etc. But that's not the half of it. I'm still having a few final bills to pay off from my apartment that I have to pay by the 20th and I'm really stripped for cash right now.
I could really use a little help, people.
I still, unfortunately, don't have my Patreon set up just yet, so I can only still do commissions right now. I'm willing to draw for you if it could mean making a little extra money so if there's something that you want me to draw for you then please send me a note.
