I agree with the police chief in that this has probably nothing to do with the NYC Mosque itself, but is more an attack on his culture and religion as a whole. I wouldn't be surprised if Palin, Beck, Gingrich and co. started yapping about how this guy is a misunderstood (drunken) hero. And here I thought our society was more tolerant than this.
Apparently there was a study that concluded that identified human society's behavior and morals as similar to those of a two-year-old's. Think about it for a moment. Isn't that the truest, most terrifying statistic I've heard in a long, long while.
In other news, someone got booted out of the Primary election in Alaska by a Teabagger. Don't try and tell me this is important news, or that this means anything for America, because it doesn't. Statistics show that on average 90% of incumbent politicians get re-elected. PLUS IT'S ALASKA. THESE PEOPLE SAW FIT TO ELECT SARAH PALIN. These people aren't representative of the average American at all.
And finally, I was watching Rachel Maddow's program on MSNBC last night and I happened to realize that the liberal-leaning journalists always seemed to be chuckling and in generally good moods all the time, whereas conservative "journalists" like Beck and Limbaugh are always worked up into a frenzy with fear and anger and really not any positive emotions ever! IMHO, is that because the conservatives know that they're losing the ideological war more and more with every passing day? Please discuss.

General | Posted 15 years agoYou read the title right, good ol' Texas is at it again and trying to infringe upon human rights. The Texas GOP, made up of older Republicans, is trying to re-introduce old sodomy laws. These would ban any form of oral and anal sex in the entire state. They wish to ban all pornography as well, along with putting the Bible at the head of state and stating that Evolution will be taught as a challengable scientific theory. If this wasn't bad enough they are calling for more deep-water oil drilling. Its religion mixed with money, the worst kind possible. General | Posted 15 years agoI had a thought this morning while replying to a fellow artist's comment on my latest upload and I thought it was kind of meaningful. To me, anyway.
"I guess I never thought about it much, even though I've done requests before... that happy surprise when you finally see what you asked for done on a sheet of paper, that is. It was hard to keep from squeeing and Verda felt the same way, I'm sure. I guess that knowing how it feels on the receiving end of my art will motivate me to work harder than ever!"
To make it simple, I guess that although I've done several requests and stuff for people, I've never really considered how they'll respond to the art they receive. I mean, I work super hard on all the stuff, but with one or two exceptions I'm not really emotionally invested in stuff for other people. And perhaps that sort of connection is what I need to have to make better drawings in the future. All I know is that now that I've been on the "other side" of the process a few times I'll be able to work to make my stuff perfect. I hope.
Anyway, now that THAT'S out of the way. I watched my first episode of Children's Hospital last night, and I wasn't amused. Really. I'm pretty sure I could have slept through the thing if I had bothered to. I don't know how any of these critics Adult Swim's been finding could like the show, or why anyone watches it (or Delocated! or The Mighty Boosh or Tim and Eric which started the whole ugly trend). Adult Swim has great cartoons, but they can't make original live-action shows for S@!%.
In another subject change, I've finished Exanu's pic, and a pic of a Digimon, but maybe not the kind you're used to. >:3 More art is on the way, and I'm still waiting for Aug. 13th as the date the comp lab at school opens again.

I mean, I saw the anime was premiering on Adult Swim so I began to read the manga cause I was curious and it's so amazing I've got to use a run-on sentence to describe how amazing it is. I mean, you've got the hero who defeats monsters to protect hisgirlchildhood friend/rival, their two spirit dogs who's so gay (REALLY! The wolf has a total crush on his first master) and the Oni who is Guilmon in a tall grey body. X3 No matter what the anime says whenever he talks in the manga I dub Guilmon's voice over him in my head. XD
