Good news everyone! :D (totally a Futurama quote)
Posted 15 years agoI have managed to get 99.99% of EVERYTHING off my dead hard drive! :D

the only things that didnt make it were a fist full of files i still had sitting on my desktop, but nothing major THANK GOD ^^;;;
And since im now back in "buisness" (well after i get all my programs reinstalled anyway) i hope to start churning out more 3D works n' stuffs ^.=.^
oh, and i bought an electric drum kit for my apartment with my summer job moniez :D

My Hard Drive is now an inconvenient and expensive paperweight sitting on my desk
and of course, I was too stupid not to backup all my 200+ gigs worth of files from the last 3 years....
See, I had JUST reformatted external so I could take it over to my friends house and download some stuffs, and a few weeks later my computer simply refused to startup windows all the way, even in Safe Mode. My friend later diagnosed it as an HD Error (him being a "tech" guy since middle school) and we tried various things to get it working again (INCLUDING reinstalling windows and trying a separate HD to access the screwed up one)
Whatever the cause, I am unable to get to anything that was once on my computer, which I can only blame on myself for not remembering to do a backup on my external...
Lesson learned I suppose... =\
My only hope is to salvage my files off my old HD, most likely going to take it in to be looked at ASAP... but at least my friend sold me a used drive for 15 bucks, so im not COMPLETELY out of luck... I guess...
IF I cant recover my files that means the past 3 years of 3D modeling and animations are now history, and i'll have to start from square one all over again... which isnt QUITE so bad now that im more experienced, but its still a major loss of hard work and effort I put into my craft

Well first of all, I DID end up getting an AMAZINGLY SWEET HD camcorder for my birthday (i haz camera! i maek moviez now! :D )
I passed my drivers test (after I failed by running a red light my FIRST time) ^^;
and im close to garunTEED a job at a local ice-house for the summer (where they make and ship those bags of ice everyone stuffs in their coolers) so, not only will I have my drivers license AND a job that doesnt involve working in the scorching heat, i'd say ive got my summer made! ^.=.^
...as for the bad news...
ive found out that even though i managed to squeeze my computer into our upstairs "storage space", it remains inaccessible to the internet. XP
The only hookup my house has is a USB-antenna thing from Alltell and my dad doesnt want me to be running up and downstairs switching it from computer to computer being that its the only internet the whole family has.
So heres my question:
Is it possible for 2 computers to share internet coming from a USB0antenna? and if SO, what does it take? (ethernet hookup or what-have-you)
REGARDLESS!!!
I will try my hardest to get back "on the horse" (NO pun intended... silly furries...)
and back up and running with sketching, digital drawings, and 3D renderings
that is of course, if my work schedule will allow me enough time... we will have to see =P

weeeelll, i know the whole point of turning 21 is that you can drink alcohol, but since Ive had a rather bad kidney-stone related experience a few years back with the stuff I dont really want to try drinking anymore... (heck, i dont even really like the taste)
but ANYway,
Nothin' really special going on here, i MIGHT be getting a very high-quality HD camcorder but thats only if my parents decide if theyre going to order it or not :B
On a side note,
Frank Frazetta, fantasy artist, died yesterday at the age of 82
If youve never heard of him, please look up his artwork, im sure you would recognize it from somewhere

-Getting a job (oh joy)
-Getting my drivers license (FINALLY).... ((meh))
-Learning to cope with snail-speed internet and withOUT my own room (OH HUZZAH)
-Hopefully getting back in shape and doing artwork/writing music in my spare time (its about damn time at least)
-Trying not to go crazy being stuck out in the middle of B.F.E. with nothing to do (but hey, at least im not gonna be eating microwave dinners (lol))
wish me luck I guess..... im gonna need it :B

Ok so yeah.... my first journal ever and its been more than 2 years since ive joined FA.... nice... =P
I never really had a REASON to post a journal, cause' I don't do commissions (yet), I dont have bunches and bunches of watchers that love to study every intimate detail of my boring day-to-day crap i call "My Life" aaaand I don't really think I have much going on to talk about or even mention that's relatively interesting =P (insert juvenile tongue-'fart'-sound here)
So for those that actually DO care, right now im pretty much stuck at my parents house until i FINALLY get my drivers license, sharing a tiiiiiny room with my little bro (oh joy *eyeroll*) and my family's 10-year-old computer relies on an Alltell-brand wireless jack to get what little internet I can access (*headdesk repeatedly*)
Its not really all that bad though, at least my PS2 still works (MOST of the time) and my little bro actually got me Okami as an early B-day gift (Already beat it and im pretty sure it is now one of my favorite games of ALL-TIME :D )
But I still miss my compy with fast internet, Orange Box games (Steam name: Rashoni), and all my precious software I need to make 3D art and such... heck I really miss my electric guitars and having my own room too =P
And as for actually HAVING art to post? I haven't picked up a pencil to draw in almost half a year, and that was just for making a crummy storyboard for a video project... so hopefully by FCN in April I'll be able to get some practice in so I can doodle for fun at least =3
