Posted 9 years agoI've done this before, but I'm gonna put a bit more time into this!
long story short, I'm helping out a bunch of new people get into the game right now. It's difficult to learn alone, but GREAT with friends.
I've been playing this game for a few years, so I know plenty of things you can do, and I can help guide you in the right direction!
They've designed the game such that, if you like healing ships, you can do that from the smallest ship (frigates) to the largest shops in the game (force auxiliaries)! And this worksemester for EVERYTHING. DPS, Healing, Drones, Sniping, Brawling (close range), PVP, PVE.
Hell, if you just want to zen out and mine while you do that lab report? You can do that too!
You can fly out in a cloak, sneak around, use a stealth bomber, or scan down relic sites for loot from ages past.
You could become an economic genius, play the marketplace. Some people love numbers, and EVE's economy is very much alive. Everything in the game is made by players, and sold by players. There's market hubs, and mission hubs. Finding the right supply routes and keeping up on orders can make you BILLIONS.
You could be THAT manufacturing giant. Purchase blueprints and minerals, and start making mods and ships.
And the guys who manufacture need minerals, that's where the zen mode miners come in! Is it exciting? Not at all, but it's what everything trickles down to. Groups can crash the price of an ore just by mining an excessive amount.
PVP? God there's so much. You can be the leader, having 10s to 100s of people following your orders with (generally) out fail. You could be the healer, keeping everyone afloat to keep the good fight good. You could be the EWAR (electronic warfare) specialist, turning your opponents tracking and sensors to literally garbage. You could be the tackle, a small little ship, with one of the most important jobs. Hold the enemy down so we can kill them. Without tackle, there are no kills.
There's faction warfare, player own able space, wormholes, and so much more. I could go on for ages. But if ANY of that interested you even an iota, sign up. Fly with me for three weeks, give it a whirl. The first three weeks are free with my referral, and if you end up upgrading, we get something to sell that'that'll give us 600mil each. If you don't, then you don't no harm no fould. What's there to lose? :)

Friend never provides me stats so here's that. I'd like to see this get larger, I need a nice sample size to choose from. I just want to see TRUTHFULLY if you feEl that Masculinity has harmed you in some manner of you life. If you feel it's oppressive, too much of a burden.
all I ask is you RT/tell others, Id like over a hundred votes ideally.

Posted 10 years agoIve been having some REAL difficulty moving on from what happened to me back in September.
I thought I was getting over it and then something happens that just brings me right back. Example, some random guy approaches me during broad daylight, says othing other than "Lets go" and "Come on" to me. i immediately leave and step into the train station, he doesn't follow. But fuck if that didn't set me off.
After getting over that, I get another scare, through a joke (admittedly cruel but the party has more than apologized) where I thought that same person had found me and my number. I imagined my life was over.
Maybe a few days after that, I went outside with my mate to get some litter, and as I did two guys walked by. One looked back at me as they walked, probably harmlessly as I came out as they walked by so they probably were just curious (as anyone would be). but the fact that he looked back at me made me stand in the gate for a second before stepping out. Ive been edgy and kind of freaked out for the remainder of the time since, maybe an hour ago?
Typing this all out has set me a little at ease, but I'm really starting to feel helpless and scared ALL the time. Ive considered getting black curtains purely so people walking by wont crouch down to try to find me in my basement apartment behind a big 12 black gate. And I'm /definitely/ not ever considering the idea that someone might jump one of the gates from behind the apartment through either of the (again gated) commercial lots.
To top it all off, I've also been taking cabs literally to and from my house whenever I don't have a ride, willingly blasting away 10 bucks every trip.
I'm scared I'm becoming a crazy person. But I'm scared if I don't, I won't make it in this city. I dont want to tell my boyfriend that I'm scared I can't make it, but I honestly dont know if I can. I'm scared.

Life update (2014)

Just a lil update on me and stuff for those wondering.
I finally started school, and just finished up my first semester. I managed to get enough money from the government to go this time, so that was squared away.
Got all my grades in today, and it looks like I have a 3.944 GPA (5 A's and 1 A-) so I'm doing well on that front.
RL Mate got a full time position at best buy, so he's doing well.
I had a bad situation in September, don't really want to go into details but I was mugged walking home at night. Recovered from that for the most part, more mentally damaging than it was physical.
Got a nice laptop for Christmas, parents bought it and mate got it set to half off, so I'm in love with that of course.
All in all, 2014 got off on a rough edge. We lost our car, I got into school, I got mugged, but it ended on a great note, with amazing grades.
Hopefully 2015 keeps it up for me. Hope you've all been well too.
