The furry fandom thrives on this kind of stuff but when its real people OH NO ITS BAD. As far as it going against the "rules" of FA. They make the rules, they can break them.

Hi, My name is Ratrix and I will keep this short, I have asked for assitance here before with no luck, so I shall try again. My older brother got evicted from his home about half a year ago, he came to live here a while and so did his 5 Dogs, 2 being female. Currenly the small female (Daisy) Just had a small litter of 3, the runt passed. The outside medium size dog (Baby) Just had a litter of 5, and we still haven't taken her 3 other puppies to an animal shelter. So in total we have.. Edit: 18. I miscounted Total dogs here and its getting really out of control. I don't have a job currently or I would work hard to get the money to get them spayed myself. I'm at my wits end and the longer we wait to get them fixed the more animals seem to pile up. The cost to spay two female dogs is here http://www.wataugahumanesociety.org.....uter-pd-27.php So any help towards my 120$ Goal would be most appreciated. Make a post in your journal containing your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple to really big. The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real-life things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where folks could get in touch with you.
~Step 2~
Surf around other lists to see who has posted their list. If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream for free--do it. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special

General | Posted 13 years agoI honestly don't care that you are on Weasyl now. It's getting irritating seeing about that sire every other day. it's not going to kill FA. It's not going to replace it. So anyone who mentions Weasyl in a journal I will be unwatching. Sorry, but I'm tired of hearing it.

The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is an international treaty that threatens free speech and your privacy online. Imagine if your ISP could censor their networks, police what you did online, and with greater ease turn your information over to authorities. That's the danger that ACTA poses, and it's got to be stopped.
Access in October raised the red flag on ACTA, but the downfall of SOPA and PIPA has helped turn ACTA from a forgotten international treaty to the center of the fight for a free and open internet. Though several countries have already signed this treaty, the European Parliament still has to vote on its approval. If they vote NO, it will will totally dismantle ACTA and send it back to the drawing board. Sign the petition below, calling on the European Parliament to vote NO on this dangerous treaty.

SOPA Down, Not out of the water yet.
General | Posted 14 years agoIn a surprise move today, Representative Eric Cantor(R-VA) announced that he will stop all action on SOPA, effectively killing the bill. This move was most likely due to several things. One of those things is that SOPA and PIPA met huge online protest against the bills. Another reason would be that the White House threatened to veto the bill if it had passed. However, it isn't quite time yet to celebrate, as PIPA(the Senate's version of SOPA) is still up for consideration.
The online protests about the bill were surprising and large. They ranged anywhere from callng Representatives, companies, and senators to get them to change their mind, to actively moving domain's away from and targeting the business model of the companies that supported/lobbied for the bill. GoDaddy lost well over 100,000 domains in the space of about 10 days due to their involvement with these bills, along with other various targets. Reddit in particular has been influential in turning the tide against SOPA and PIPA, and is a good demonstration of how the Internet enables Democracy.
PIPA is less well known than SOPA, but the provisions are basicly the same. It still includes the same DNS blocking and censoring system that the original SOPA did, just without the SOPA name. There are around 40 co-sponsors of the bill in the Senate so far, with no word on how many senators support the bill in addition to that. There will most likely need to be 60 votes in the Senate in order to invoke cloture and end an almost guaranteed filibuster.
