Another EF is over and it's been an amazing experience.

I got roped into doing security work after helping mediate on Tuesday for something and have thoroughly enjoyed helping out and seeing an entirely new aspect of the con. I've met many new people through it that I wouldn't otherwise have and the security staff at EF is a special group of people who play host to a great atmosphere, making the work very pleasurable. I'll certainly be back to do it again next year and will be security for Confuzzled as well.

I learned quickly that being on security means you have to get most fursuiting done during the day. I managed to suite a fair bit though, both as Ravell and Tycho and had fun doing something a bit different this con for a laugh and on a bet with a friend. Long story short, it resulted in me going around the con space in Ravell, dressed in what I think is a rather cute dress. See here for what I'm on about: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8797501/

Was really nervous people would take it the wrong way, assume it to be something it isn't. But reactions were universally good. It was great fun to do and I'm tempted to do it again some time. Although I don't want to build an association too strongly either so if I do it'd be sparingly. Oh, and for anyone wondering where I got it, I made it myself. :3

I also had lots of good discussions with friends in the evenings in the Piano bar and the lobby which is always a large reason for me to go to cons, so thanks to anyone who had time to talk to me, both longstanding friends and people I'd just met.

A special thanks goes to Utlah, with whom I went to Wolfsburg on the Sunday morning to visit Autostadt, Volkswagen's visitors museum and pavilions. Certainly an interesting experience. The museum was great fun, as were some of the displays outside (Lamborghini Countash LP400 anyone?). The pavilions felt more like dealerships, so we skipped most of those. It seems the place is a big event centre for the local area though as they were hosting rowing boat races and had a stage with costumed performers at the far end. Certainly didn't feel British in it's setup. In a way I wish we got stuff like that here.

I also enjoyed running the Furball Run which was a success although I'm already compiling a list of improvements to make next year. Certainly the start from Magdeburg on the way back needs some work. :p

Can't believe I've had an account here since 2006 and not done anything with it. Admittedly, I won't be uploading that much content wise, but it's still useful for the few submissions I might do over time, mostly photography, and to follow/favorite submissions of others.
